ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 9, 2020
This banshee will do anything to save those she loves. Even climb into bed with her enemy.
A banshee without a voice is damn near useless, right?
I should know. I am one. At least, I’m half-banshee, and I’m guessing it’s my human half who failed my dad all those years ago, when the vamps arrived and tore him apart.
I tried to call a warning, to sing of death in the way of my kind.
But no one heard my broken four-year-old voice.
Now all these years later, there’s a vamp on my front doorstep, begging for help.
And despite the fact that he’s the hottest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on and his blood sings to mine in a way I’ve never experienced, I remember the past.
And all I want to do is stake him. Right through his cold, dead heart.
But he’s asking for my assistance in ridding the world of a supernatural curse.
If we don’t work together, this unsuspecting world and everything I know and love could be gone.
Destroyed, just like my father.
And this time, I’m not going to let that happen.
This time, I’ll do anything to be heard, even without a banshee cry.
This time, I’ll need to climb into bed with my enemy.

REVIEW: BANSHEE CRY is the first instalment in Jen Katemi’s contemporary, adult BLOOD FAE CHRONICLES erotic, paranormal romance series. This is twenty-nine year old, half-Fae/ half-human banshee Aleachiarsiwella aka Aleah, and two-hundred and eight six year old, vampire Luc Durand’s story line.
NOTE: A banshee is part of Irish mythology; a fae or sprite whose keening wail warns of impending death.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Aleah and Luc) BANSHEE CRY follows in the aftermath of the appearance of an injured vampire at Aleah’s front door. Knowing that, years before, vampires had killed her beloved father, Aleah is reluctant to offer help but something about Luc Durand stirs deep within our story line heroine. Luc Durand is a member of the supernatural police force, and as such is searching for a group of rogue ‘supes’ who are targeting both humans and supernaturals alike. An attack against her neighbors and friends finds Aleah on the defensive but it is the appearance and aid of a surprising foe that reveals more abut Aleah’s past than she could have ever imagined. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Aleah and Luc, and the potential fall-out as Aleah is targeted for who and what she is.
Approximately twenty five years earlier, vampires had attacked and killed the only parent she ever knew, and in this, our heroine is cautious and hesitant about helping the injured vampire. With little knowledge about her mother or her own abilities as a member of the Fae, Aleah battles between head and heart, and the less than perfect powers of her Banshee wail.
Luc Durand is a vampire who lost his maker years before. As a member of the supernatural police force it is Luc’s duty to hunt down the rogue supernaturals who are targeting and destroying so many lives.
The relationship between Aleah and Luc begins acrimoniously as Aleah continues to struggle with the death of her father, at the hands of a supernatural being. Aleah’s attraction to Luc is measured equally by Luc’s attraction to Leah but it is the scent of her blood that pushes Luc to want to claim Aleah as his own. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters include Renna and Tarrien, two members of the Winter Court Fae, as well as Aleah’s friend Laura. Tarrien and Indigo’s story is next in Banshee Song.
BANSHEE CRY is a fast paced, imaginative and spicy story; a dramatic and intense tale that reveals some of the background and history that have led our couple to the here and now.
