REVIEW:DARK CAPTOR is the second instalment in Faith Summers’ contemporary, adult DARK SYNDICATE erotic, dark, mafia romance series focusing on the D’Agostino brothers. This is thirty year old Tristan D’Agostino, and twenty-two year old, assistant therapist Isabella Viggo’s story line. DARK CAPTOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Tristan and Isabella) DARK CAPTOR follows in the aftermath of the kidnapping of twenty-two year old Isabella Viggo, the daughter of the Mortimer Viggo, an assassin with the Circle of Shadows. Six years earlier, on his wedding day Tristan’s wife Alyssa was kidnapped and killed by a member of the Circle of Shadows, and our hero has been plotting his revenge every since. Fast forward to present day wherein, Tristan and his brothers will discover that Mortimer Viggo has a daughter, the perfect fodder for war and vengeance. Enter twenty-two year old Isabella Viggo, the woman with whom Tristan will fall in love. What ensues is the kidnapping of Isabella, and building relationship between Tristan and Isabella, and the potential fall-out as Tristan’s revenge comes to fruition, and Isabella becomes collateral damage in a war between families.

DARK CAPTOR follows several paths including the abduction of Isabella Viggo; Tristan’s need for vengeance; Dominic D’Agostino’s fall from grace; and the rise and fall of both the Circle of Shadows, and the Syndicate of the Brotherhood, a Syndicate of which Massimo D’Agostino is hoping to revive.

The relationship between Tristan and Isabella is an enemies to lovers: a Stockholm –esque syndrome romance as is most of the author’s stories in this series of dark Mafia romances. Tristan is unable to keep away from our story line heroine, and as such finds himself falling for a woman who is as broken and lost as our story line hero. As their relationship continues to build, Tristan knows it is only a matter of time before he will have to let go of the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, and not without some issues of questionable consent.

The colorful secondary and supporting characters include Tristan’s brothers Massimo and Dominic, as well as their sister of the heart Candace; Isabella’s father Mortimer, his right hand man Dimitri, and Isabella’s guard Sacha.

DARK CAPTOR is a dramatic and intense story line . The premise is edgy and dark; the romance is passionate and provocative; the characters are tragic and energetic.
