REVIEW: DIRTY DEVIL is the second instalment in Kristen Luciani’s contemporary, adult VENGEFUL VILLAINS, dark, erotic, Bratva, romance series. This is twenty-six year old Nikolai ‘Nik’ Malikov, and twenty-year old Kenzie Wheeler’s story line. DIRTY DEVIL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nik and Kenzie) DIRTY DEVIL follows in the aftermath of the bombing of the restaurant La Gioia, a restaurant co-owned by our story line hero. Kenzie Wheeler wants revenge against the people she believes killed her father, and with the help of her siblings and her uncle Hank, Kenzie sets a plan into motion to destroy the Malikov family one business operation at a time but all does not go according to plan when, in the aftermath of the attack, Kenzie and her siblings find themselves prisoners of the Malikov family, as the family struggles in the face of destruction and death. As Luka Malikov battles between life and death, Nikolai takes aim at our story line heroine. Demanding her complete submission, Nikolai must come to terms with the feisty and belligerent female that is claiming his heart, a heart he thought was dead and cold. What ensues is the acrimonious but building relationship between Nikolai and Kenzie, and the potential fall-out as betrayal comes from outside and within, a betrayal that focuses on Nikolai Malikov, and the woman with whom he is falling in love.

The relationship between Kenzie and Nikolai begins as prisoner and warden. Nikolai Malikov wants information but the torture of a woman is not something Nikolai wants or craves. Keeping Kenzie his prisoner means up close and personal with the woman that will steal his heart but Kenzie is not an easy prisoner, pushing all of Nikolai’s buttons at every opportunity. Kenzie will eventually discover she make a horrible mistake, used as a tool to manipulate the Malilkov family. The $ex scenes are intimate,aggressive and provocative, and not without some issues of questionable consent.

The secondary and supporting characters included Kenzie’s siblings Noah and Charley, and their uncle Hank Wheeler; auto mechanic Torres, Alek Severinov, Boris Vetrov; We are re-introduced to Nik’s siblings: Luka and Natasha (Twisted Tyrant 1), Danil, Taras, and Tori. The requisite evil has some familiar faces.

DIRTY DEVIL is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, grief and loss, forgiveness and love. The premise is dark, gritty and impassioned -the Malikov family must still contend with the secret society known as The Brotherhood 7 who are taking aim at the surviving siblings; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are broken, desperate and trying to heal.
