REVIEW:  DRIVING WHISKEY WILD is the third instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult THE WHISKEYS erotic, romance series focusing on the Whiskey family of Peaceful Harbor. This is Special Forcers veteran and bartender Brandon ‘Bullet’ Whiskey, and caterer Finlay Wilson’s story line. The Whiskeys is a spin off from the author’s Bradens of Peaceful Harbor, but each installment can be read as a stand alone with any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines and series is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Bullet and Finlay) DRIVING WHISKEY WILD follows the building relationship between former Special Forces soldier Brandon ‘Bullet’ Whiskey, and caterer Finlay Wilson. Bullet Whiskey hasn’t stopped thinking about Finlay Wilson since the day they met at Tru and Gemma’s wedding where our hero propositioned the woman with whom he would fall in love by daring her to take a ride on the ‘Bullet Train’. When Bullet’s sister Dixie offers Finlay a chance to redesign the family owned Whiskey’s Bro’s Bar, Bullet has no idea the whirlwind that is about to land him on his a$$. Enter Finlay Wilson, professional caterer and chef, and the woman who has starred in all of his fantasies and dreams. What ensues is the building romance between Bullet and Finlay, and Bullet’ s battle with PTSD and guilt that threaten to destroy what little semblance of peace he has barely acquired.

Brandon ‘Bullet’ Whiskey suffers from PTSD and the guilt of loosing too many men while fighting overseas. Large, looming and ever-the-protector Bullet believes he is unworthy of a woman like Finlay Wilson-a woman who has burrowed so deeply she has become part of the man himself. The relationship between Finlay and Bullet is one of immediate attraction but an attraction that is tempered by Bullet’s need to protect and his inability to let go of the past. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, we are reintroduced to Bullet’s extended and tight-knit family-a family that founded the Dark Knights MC, Whiskey Bro’s bar, and Whiskey Automotive: his brothers Bones (a physician by day and a biker by night), and biker/mechanic Bear and his wife Crystal (Truly, Madly, Whiskey 2); their long-suffering sister Dixie; Dixie, Bullet, Bear, and Bones’ parents Biggs and Wren (Red) Whiskey; Truman & Gemma (Tru Blue #1) and Truman’s brothers and sister, Quincy, Lincoln and Kennedy, and Crystal’s brother Jed Moon. We are introduced to Finlay’s best friend Isabel Ryder; and Sarah Beckley-a single mother who almost lost everything, if not for our story line hero, to a frightening motor vehicle accident. Bones and Sarah’s story line is next in Wicked Whiskey Love (November 2018).

DRIVING WHISKEY WILD is a story of family, friendship, romance, and love; of survival, moving forward, and letting go of the past.
