REVIEW:  MAFIA HEIR is the first instalment in Sabine Barclay’s contemporary, adult MANCINELLI BROTHERHOOD erotic, Mafia/crime world romance series-a spin off/interconnected with the author’s Ivankov Brotherhood series. This is thirty-one year old, heir to the Mancinelli Brotherhood Luciano ‘Luca’ Mancinelli, and twenty-eight year old, promotions rep Olivia ‘Livy’ D’Amato’s story line. MAFIA HEIR can be read as a stand alone. Any important information from the original series is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of Mafia Heir cross over with some of the events of the Ivankov Brotherhood series.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers including violence, spanking and Daddy/baby girl dynamic (but no age play).

Told from dual first person perspectives (Luca and Livy) MAFIA HEIR follows in the wake of Olivia ‘Livy’ D’Amato witnessing the murder of several members of the Mexican Cartel at the hands of our story line hero. Luca Mancinelli and his men had a deal with the Mexican Cartel but more money was demanded, and Livy was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, as she left work a few minutes early. Saving Livy was a priority for Luca Mancinell, as she is an innocent in the ways of organized crime, but saving Livy meant pulling our heroine into a world she knew nothing about. Under Luca’s protection, Livy would discover that Luca’s kinks and sexual needs were about to become her own when a Daddy/little girl dynamic meant more than our heroine could have imagined. As the Mexican Culliacan Cartel continue to target our story line heroine, betrayal and lies would pull the Mancinelli family into a potential war with the Irish Mob, the Mexican Cartel, and the Russian Bratva. What ensues is the building but highly sexual relationship between Livy and Luca, and the fall-out when secrets reveal a close connection between Livy and everyone involved.

The relationship between Livy and Luca begins as a rescue; an immediate attraction wherein Luca places Livy under the family’s protection, and claims our heroine as his own but something about Livy gives everyone pause, something that even our heroine knows nothing about. Luca is a Dominant, and likes control but Livy is no submissive, and would rather cuddle up to her ‘Daddy’ when he needs a hug from his ‘little girl’. The $ex scenes are aggressive, erotic, provocative and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of powerful and colorful secondary and supporting characters including many members of the Irish Mob, Italian Mafia (aka Cosa nostra), Russian Bratva, Mexican Culiacan Cartel. We are introduced ( re-introduced in some cases) to Luca’s brothers Lorenzo, Marco, and their sister Marie; their parents Massimo and Nicoletta, and their foster-son Matteo (Marco’s best friend) Carlotta and Domenico; Paola and Cesare; and their son, Luca’s cousin Carmine, and Carmine’s best friend/brother Gabriele; uncle Salvatore Mancinelli (don of New York), and his wife Sylvia; and Livy’s parents Maritza and Danny. Several characters from the Ivankov Brotherhood including Maksim and Laura (Bratva Darling 1), and Anastasia. The requisite evil has many faces.

MAFIA HEIR is a story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, power and control, acceptance and love. The premise is gritty, intriguing and dramatic ; the characters are numerous, animated and dynamic; the romance is spirited and impulsive.
