REVIEW: MINE TO LOVE is the sixth instalment in Kennedy L Mitchell’s contemporary adult PROTECTION erotic, romantic suspense series. This is thirty-eight year old, FBI agent Tallon Harper, and thirty-nine year old, programmer/single mother Remington Dotson’s story line. MINE TO LOVE can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion I recommend reading the series in order, or at the very least book five MINE TO HOLD. Tallon Harper is Tinley Harper’s brother -book five Mine to Hold.

NOTE: MINE TO LOVE focuses on the relationship between Tallon and Remington but there are several scenes of M/F/M, menage sexual scenarios with Tallon’s friend /Nashville Detective Jameson Bend.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Tallon and Remi) MINE TO LOVE follows the second chance romance and relationship between FBI agent Tallon Harper, and programmer Remington Dotson. Approximately ten years earlier, Remington Dotson spent one glorious night with two men-Tallon Harper and Jameson Bend but the next morning Tallon and Jameson thought Remington had ghosted, and in the aftermath of the kidnapping of his sister Tinley, Tallon forgot about our story line heroine. Fast forward to present day wherein Remington Dotson finds herself the victim of a kidnapping and assault, a kidnapping reminiscent of the abduction of Tinley Harper. Upon her rescue, Remington would come face to face with her past in the guise of FBI Agent Tallon Harper and Detective Jameson Bend, a past she would never forget, even if she tried but Remi’s life continues to spiral out of control, and the two men in life become protector and guardians of the woman with whom Tallon would fall in love. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Tallon, Jameson and Remi, and the fall-out as the past refuses to let go, targeting our heroine to finish what was started.

Remington Dotson never forgot about the two men who are currently saving her life but one man in particular is the greatest reminder of their one night together, a night that continues to to be part of our heroine’s life but Remi has suffered greatly at the hands of a serial killer, a killer to refuses to allow Remi to get away. Tallon Harper never thought he would ever see Remington Dotson again, having never known her last name, or where she was from but ten years had passed, Tallon and Jameson went their separate ways, brought together once again by a familiar face, and a ghost from the past.

The relationship between Tallon, Remi and Jameson is a rekindling relationship, one in which Jameson begins to feel like he doesn’t belong. Remi wants both men while in protective custody but her heart is set on the man whose face and eyes she sees every single day. The $ex scenes are intimate, graphic and intense.

We are reintroduced to Tallon’s sister Tinley and her husband Bryce (Mine to Hold), as well as FBI profiler Charlie Bekham (Mine to Keep), and Nashville Detective Jameson Bend. I hope the author has plans for Jameson Bend.

MINE TO LOVE is a story of obsession and vengeance, power and control, murder and torture, acceptance and love. The premise is graphic, detailed, raw and dark; the romance is provocative and seductive; the characters are charismatic and dynamic.
