REVIEW:SWEET, SEXY HEART is the eighth instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult The Bradens and Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill-Oak Falls, erotic, romance series- a spin off and companion to several of the author’s other series. This is former professional football player turner motivational speaker and author Dash Pennington, and book store owner Amber Montgomery. SWEET, SEXY HEART can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dash and Amber) SWEET, SEXY HEART follows the quick building romance and relationship between former professional football player turner motivational speaker and author Dash Pennington, and book store owner Amber Montgomery. Dash Pennington is about to start his cross country book tour and series of speaking engagements in Oak Falls, Virginia where he will meet his future in Amber Montgomery, owner of Story Time Bookstore, but Amber has epilepsy, and in this, Amber struggles with what the future may look like. Meeting Dash Pennington stirs something deep within our story line heroine but Amber continues to battle between head and heart believing she is not worthy of a sports star such as Dash Pennington, and the possibility that her issues of health may be too much for Dash to hold on. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Dash and Amber, and the potential fall-out as Amber continues to push Dash away, in the wake of a seizure, and the start of his successful second career.

Amber Montgomery hasn’t has a seizure for several years but overworked and excited about the upcoming tour finds our heroine in a crisis of health she is sure to push our hero out of her life. Dash Pennington is the perfect man for Amber Montgomery. His refusal to walk away endears our hero to everyone in town but Amber continues to struggle with the what ifs and whys, and what the future may hold going forward.

The relationship between Amber and Dash is one of immediate attraction but Amber maintains Dash is out of her league, and his new found career will continue to pull him away from Oak Falls. As Dash starts a slow seduction of our story line heroine, Amber must reconsider her future, a future that includes the man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including Dash’s old college teammate Sinclair ‘Sin’ Vernon, and Amber’s siblings-brother Axsel, and sisters Morgyn, Brindle, Grace, Sable and Pepper, and their parents Marilyn and Cade :Dash’s mother Robin Pennington and her ‘boyfriend’ Mitch Grayson; Dash’s siblings Damon, Hawk, Dawn and Andi, as well as numerous characters from the other interconnected series.

SWEET, SEXY HEART is another story of family, friendships, relationships and love- a familiar theme throughout Melissa Foster’s stories of romance. A story of acceptance and recognition, of well being and health. The premise is thought provoking, emotional and heart warming; the characters are honest and real; the romance is provocative and uplifting.
