Goddess Legacy is the first book in the Goddess Series by MW Muse.

High school is over for the summer and Legacy Kore is wondering if and when she will see her high school crush, newly graduated Adin Shepard again. Until he shows up at her surprise seventeenth birthday party – acting very friendly.  It’s then that she realizes that he may feel more for her than just friends.

Her excitement is short lived when after the party her guardian, Lissa informs her that her mother, whom she thought had died years ago, was actually still alive and in fact, a Greek Goddess, and that Legacy will possibly herself ascend into a Greek Goddess on her eighteenth birthday.  Emotionally wrought and exhausted from the days events, Legacy goes to sleep where she begins to have vivid dreams of storms, snakes and tornado’s.

Seeking solace in her best friend Calli Rhodes, Legacy confides in her what she has learned about her mother and herself. Just when she thought her life couldn’t get any stranger, Adin asks her out on a date – and for a brief moment in time Legacy tries to forget everything else and live in the moment that is unfolding in front of her. Could it possible that what she has wanted for so long, is about to become her reality?  Could her dream of a relationship with Adin come true?  Just as this is about to happen she meets an alarming handsome young man named River Rysaor.  Turns out River knows a lot more than Legacy could imagine, and opens a whole new world to her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the Greek Mythology aspect of it. The relationship between Legacy and Adin is romantic and flirty.  Although at times I found Adin to be a bit annoying at how slow he wanted to take the relationship, but in the end I respected the reasoning why and found him completely endearing.  River adds an almost evil aspect to the story – yet you can’t quite figure out if he himself is evil or good? I enjoyed the friendship between Calli and Legacy – it brought back memories of myself with my best friend at that age.  Their relationship was real and believable.  Although I don’t think we know everything that there is to know about Calli yet.  The only part of the story that I had an issue with was Legacy’s dreams.  At times they were monotonous and unnecessary.  I found myself at one point putting the book down because I just could not possibly read another dream scene.  With that being said and overlooked – I loved the book and can not wait for the second in the series.  There are so many unanswered questions and so many things left unknown.

Goddess Secret

goddess secret

Goddess Secret is the second in the Goddess Series and while a bit too short for my liking, it was a wonderful and mythical continuation of Legacy’s life. Legacy is faced with her upcoming ascension and she thinks she has this goddess thing worked out. But as her relationship with Adin gets steamier and her emotions begin to take over she realizes that how she feels controls much more than she ever thought possible. And one secret is weighing heavily on her soul. How can one girl keep a secret so vital to the well-being of all those around her to herself, and will she be able to?

Legacy and Adin’s relationship continues to evolve as more players in the mythological game come to the foreground. Venus is the goddess Adin is bonded to, and her and Adin now attend college together. Will this cause heartache between Legacy and Adin or will this make their relationship stronger? I have fallen head over heels for Adin and his gentlemanly ways! I am very excited to read the next book in this series and to see where the story takes Legacy next.

  1. Wonderful reviews, Erin. Your first review shows how much you really enjoyed the book, and your second confirms that, as you were not happy that it was too short. Sometimes when you are deep into a series, novella’s or short stories are nice to visit the characters again, but do leave you wanting more.

  2. Great review Erin, Just by reading your review I could tell one that you love both books and you have made me want to check it out . Sounds like 2 very interesting reads.

  3. Wonderful reviews Erin. Sounds like an interesting series. Although you were not happy with the length of the second book, I must add, that sometimes….short is better….but not in all cases…lol

  4. Thanks for the reviews! 🙂 I think someone asked if the contest was open to international entrants and yes, it is. 🙂 It does cost more to ship packages internationally, which is why a lot of authors don’t do them. Honestly, I’ve limited some contests in the past to just U.S. because one time I paid as much to ship a signed book as the book retailed (under my other pen name). It’s not always cost effective, but since I’m starting this new pen name to publish Y/A-N/A, I didn’t want to limit it on the get-go… especially since the grand prize is worth so much (around $300 value).
