ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 7, 2015

He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not…

In Toxic, Jeremy McQueen, a sexy, intense, sometimes brooding entrepreneur goes after what he wants—the woman he left behind years ago. Phoebe St. Claire, a put together, in control socialite-turned-CEO has been drifting through life searching for something she thought she’d never find again—the right man to share her future.

Our passion was boundless. Our lust untamed. And our desire endless. He was the only man who ever made me feel alive. Then, I betrayed him.

When he reappeared, I didn’t question it. Trust rarely survives the wrecking ball, so when he let me in back in—I didn’t hesitate.

Maybe I should have.

What began as a bid to save my family business, turned into a second chance at love. It felt so romantic. Working together, side by side, with the man I loved. My dream come true.

Nothing is as good as it seems.

We had our issues, but then again, every couple does. It wasn’t jealousy, or our too-hot sex life that I should have been worried about.

It was his darkside.

I never saw the end coming, until it slammed me in the face. The question is—did he?

Was revenge his plan all along?

••••••••••••••

REVIEW: TOXIC is the latest stand alone contemporary, adult, erotic romance storyline from Kim Karr. This is billionaire business owner Jeremy McQueen and CEO of TSC (The Saint Corporation) Phoebe St. Claire’s storyline-a second chance at love for two people torn apart by lies and deceit. There is a slight cross over with Kim’s The 27 Club when the exclusive Miami ‘The Estate’ –a private BDSM club-is mentioned as a business investment and potential source of betrayal.

Told from first person point of view (Phoebe) with an epilogue from Jeremy’s POV, TOXIC follows the rebuilding of a relationship between Phoebe and Jeremy. At twenty-one years of age, Phoebe and Jeremy had a summer fling, fell in love, and all but destroyed one another’s lives. Fast forward five years where Phoebe’s controlled life begins to spiral out of control: the TSC is weeks from filing bankruptcy; she dumped her fiancé days before the wedding; and the man who stole her heart five years earlier, has returned with a dark and dangerous plan. Jeremy is a man on a mission, and Phoebe is ripe for the picking. The $ex scenes are erotic, passionate and emotional. Jeremy and Phoebe will consume one another with their wants and needs.

TOXIC focuses on a second chance at love for Jeremy and Phoebe but their relationship is mired in lies, deceit, secrets and betrayal. Families have been destroyed by the sins of the past; and the future is an unknown entity when the truth is finally revealed. Jealousy, miscommunication and the need to run play a major role in our couple’s inability to move forward. There is always someone waiting to destroy what little hold Jeremy and Phoebe have on their relationship, and it only takes a few words to push Phoebe over the edge-time and time again. Destroyed by her parent’s unfaithful marriage, and the memories of the summer she fell in love, Phoebe is unable to let go of the pain and heartbreak, and in this, she questions every action and movement as another potential source of deceit and lies.

TOXIC is a bit of a slow read, or perhaps more of a slow build, with a large ensemble cast of characters whose actions play a significant role in our couple’s toxic and volatile relationship. I am hoping Kim Karr has future plans for a number of the supporting characters. Jeremy and Phoebe have a history of lies and betrayal that are fueled by innuendo, mistaken beliefs, and threats from outside sources including a series of ex lovers who are determined to win back or destroy Phoebe and Jeremy respectively.

Kim Karr invites the reader into an intense storyline awash in an emotional roller coaster of lies, manipulation and deception. The twists and turns reveal a backstory befitting the rich and infamous where the pretense of the public face masks a multitude of sins and betrayals behind the scenes. The heroine’s emotional fall out is angst ridden and not without some cringe-worthy moments of concern: there were times I wanted to smack her upside the head for her Oscar worthy, drama queen tirades.

TOXIC is a story about two people whose lives are interconnected far deeper than they could have ever imagined. The premise is intriguing and dramatic; the characters colorful and charismatic; the love story intense, heartbreaking and profound. Kim Karr is a story teller with a vivid imagination and a passionate grasp of what her readers want to see.

excerpt

Feeling a bit drunk and overwhelmed with so many and so few choices at the same time, I needed some time alone and snuck off toward the beach path.
I ran toward the ocean and twirled in the sand as the wind blew around me. Once I started to feel dizzy from twirling, I still wasn’t ready to head back to the party, so I took the path that would lead me to the large Olympic-sized pool. I tugged my sandals off with thoughts of putting my feet in the water to rinse the mud and sand away. As I approached the pool, I noticed how it glowed like it was lit by small pale fires. Lost in the enchantment of it, the sudden movement beneath the surface startled me.
A fair-haired boy emerged from the water. He pulled himself up and out so quickly that I was momentarily stunned. And then when he drank me in with his eyes, I shuddered.
I couldn’t help it, the way he looked at me just made me shiver. No one had ever looked at me like that before and I found myself gazing back into his intense eyes.
He was utterly beautiful. His bare chest was sculpted but not overly bulky like Danny or Jamie. They worked out every day pumping obnoxious amounts of iron to look the way they did. In contrast, the boy standing before me had a swimmer’s build.
He stood stoic and a cautious look crossed his face. He was long and lean in a pair of bright green neon swim trunks.
Right away I could tell he didn’t care what anyone thought about him.
I loved the idea of that.
So I smiled at him.
He shook his head and his hair fell into his eyes.
I wanted to reach out and push it away. It wasn’t long, but it wasn’t short. It was perfect.
“Hey,” he said, grabbing a towel off the ground.
It didn’t belong to the club. It was small, beige, and a bit worn—not the large hunter-green fluffy ones monogrammed in white I’d always gotten when I used to come here to swim as a kid.
“Hey,” I said back, swinging my sandals nervously.
He grabbed a pair of jeans that lay next to where the towel had been and walked right by me.
I turned to watch him as he strode into one of the cabanas and dropped his trunks. I froze and squeezed my eyes shut, thinking I shouldn’t be watching him but then opened them quickly when I couldn’t resist maybe catching a glimpse.
“Didn’t your parents ever tell you it isn’t polite to stare?” His voice was low and sexy, and it tugged me out of my own head.
I put my hands on my hips. “Didn’t your parents ever teach you not to undress in mixed company?”
He pulled his jeans on and laughed. “My mother might have mentioned that once or twice but I’ve never been good at following the rules.”
And it didn’t escape my notice that he didn’t put any underwear on first.
Hot. Totally and completely hot.
I didn’t see anything I shouldn’t have seen, it was too dark, but something inside me electrified at the thought of seeing him naked and I stepped closer. That’s when I noticed the scuffed-up black work boots on one of the lounges with a T-shirt thrown next to them.
I raised a brow. “Is this your changing room?”
He laughed again but this time added a smile and put his hands up. “Okay you caught me. I better get out of here before anyone else does.”
He was adorable and charming and my heart skipped a beat or two.
Then I stepped even closer and entered the cabana entrance, effectively blocking his way. “Why? You’re not doing anything wrong.”
He shrugged but he didn’t try to move around me. “I usually swim in the ocean but when the water is too rough, like tonight, I come here.”
I bit my lip in contemplation before speaking. “Does it really matter if you get caught?”
He crossed his arms over his bare chest. “Let’s just say it’s not just the swimming. It’s more that I’ve been caught doing a few too many things that I shouldn’t have been doing in the past.”
A bad boy.
The thought made my pulse thunder. “So you’re not a member at this club?”
He cleared his throat and shifted from foot to foot. “No,” he laughed but his laugh was anything but genuine. “Are you?”
I hesitated as I considered my answer. “No, I was just walking the beach and wanted to rinse my feet. I’m Phoebe,” I said extending my hand. Technically, I wasn’t lying. I wasn’t a member, my parents were. I hadn’t even been here in years. And I was out for a walk.
Amusement danced in his blue eyes. “Jeremy,” he said back.
When I chewed on my lower lip, I noticed how his eyes focused on it.
Mine focused on the entirety of his mouth—his strong, firm jaw, his sensuous lips, and his tongue that had snuck out to lick his lips.
That mouth.
It was almost too much.

About the book: Release Date July 14, 2015

In order to survive a life of tragedy, Deacon McConnell embraced his roughest edges and learned to fight on the streets. Then a life-changing jujitsu seminar led by Sensei Ronin Black led Deacon to become a professional fighter. With his muscular physique and his body covered in tattoos and scars, the MMA fighter defines mean, both on and off the mat.

But everything changes when innocent Molly Calloway signs up for his kickboxing class. Molly is Deacon’s opposite in every way: She’s kind, sweet, thoughtful, and educated. After a heated argument between them turns into a passionate encounter, Deacon realizes Molly is eager to experience more, and she looks to him to take her to the darker edge of lust….

The last thing either of them expects is how deeply their lives will be thrown upside down by the passion they find together.

Review:
When Molly first met Deacon, she was intimidated. She had been attacked and wanted to take her life back. She enrolled in his kickboxing class to learn to defend herself and excelled. Even though Deacon piqued her interest, she knew she wasn’t in his league. The initial relation that developed between them was one of sarcastic quips and barbs and mutual admiration, even though neither knew of the other’s thoughts. We’ve seen the friendship build over the last few books and I knew this would be a good one. And, I was NOT disappointed.

Caged begins with Presley, Molly’s friend and co-worker, taking Molly out for a girls night out….to a strip club. And, who does Molly encounter in said club? Deacon McConnell. Molly turns on her heal and heads the other way, only to have Deacon intercept her. As they trade quips, Deacon does the darnedest thing. He kisses her and they both know their lives will never be the same. Even though Deacon had asked Molly out on a date over a year ago, and pulled a no-show, Molly is enchanted with the big, bad and sexy Deacon. As they discuss their “relationship”, they decide to see where all of this will lead them. They both know they have some obstacles to overcome and they both have their secrets, but what follows will draw them to each other like nothing they ever expected.

Molly receives a call about a death in the family and has to leave town quickly, only to be belittled once again by her a$$hat cousins who have done nothing but shame and bully her since they were kids. Molly just wants to get things taken care of and get back to Denver and as far away from them as she can. There is one other catch, though. She didn’t tell Deacon she was leaving and when he shows up in her hometown and tracks her down at the motel, he is not a happy camper. He tells her that if they are going to be together, then they are going to be together in every way. He does a wonderful job of supporting her while she deals with what’s left of her family and they finally head back to Denver. But, when things start happening in Deacon’s life that cause him to have to face his devastating childhood and his own family, he has a hard time reciprocating with Molly.

As they head to Texas to meet with his family, it doesn’t take Molly long to figure out that Deacon has demons that he will have to deal with. Unfortunately, he develops tunnel vision and while dealing with his family, he doesn’t even realize, until it’s too late, that Molly left and headed back to Denver. Will Deacon be able to overcome his past in order to forge a future with Molly? Or, will he forever be Caged by his past? You’ll just have to read to find out…………

Oh my sweet Jesus! I LOVED THIS BOOK! Molly is someone that everyone would want in their corner. She has taken her life back in a big way and does not take any crap off of anyone. Including Deacon. Her childhood was something horrible, but she created a life for herself and never looked back. She’s tough, spunky, smart and very independent. That brings me to Deacon. I do think that he is my favorite hero that I’ve read about in a loooooong time. Bless his bones. He’s so thick headed about how relationships work, but at the same time, he tells her that he doesn’t have a clue. You will laugh your butt off at the things he says. He truly does mean well, but has no idea how to say the things that he’s supposed to. And, his swagger will leave you drooling. Even though his early childhood was very different than Molly’s, the loss that he suffers as a teenager will break your heart. And, the big revelation at the end?? Did NOT see that coming. I only hope that Ms. James will let us in on what’s going on with them in future books.

Caged is a wonderfully written story that is ultimately about not being defined by one’s past and forging ahead and making a life, even though you’re not sure exactly how to do it. It’s about learning to trust and to share yourself with your partner, even though you’re scared spitless! I absolutely adore this series and the characters in it. It’s one of my absolute favorite series, and if you’ll give it a chance, it will be one of your favorites too. Well done, Lorelei James! Very, very, very well done!!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 7, 2015

Derek Valencia finally has the success he’s worked so hard for. His band is touring its debut album and great reviews are rolling in. But when pictures of him tossing naked groupies off a balcony go viral, it’s damage-control time. He’s assigned a “babysitter” whose sole job is to keep him out of trouble.

Violet Davis swore she’d never work in the music industry again, but being a minder for a rock star will earn her enough to pay off the mortgage on her wildflower farm. And for a girl brought up in the foster care system, owning her own home means more to her than anything.

Though at first the two bang heads, the rocker and the farm girl soon grow close and realize that they make sweet music together. But can a girl who craves the stability of life on a farm really make it work with a man whose life is spent on the road with his band?

••••••••

REVIEW: I WANT YOU TO WANT ME is the second installment in Erika Kelly’s adult, contemporary Rock Star Romance series focusing on the rock band, now known as, Blue Fire. This is Blue Fire bassist Derek Valencia, and professional ‘minder’ Violet Davis’s storyline. I WANT YOU TO WANT ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary. Derek Valencia is Emmie’s brother-Emmie is the heroine from book one YOU REALLY GOT ME.

Told from third person perspective I WANT YOU TO WANT ME focuses on Violet Davis as she is hired to ‘mind’ the members of the band of Blue Fire. Verging on stardom, the band begins to implode as the musicians begin to succumb to the excesses of fame including sex, drugs and alcohol. Violet is a minder- a professional baby sitter-of sorts-who must get the band on the straight and narrow before they become headline news in the gossip papers and paparazzi rags. What ensues is a building relationship between Derek and Valencia, one that began acrimoniously, and filled with spite and mistrust.

Derek is the twenty eight year old son of a famous jazz musician, whose own star is beginning to fall, and with it comes betrayal and heartbreak as the father tries to ride on his son’s burgeoning success. As a minder, Violet is practiced in the art of intervention, and her responsibility finds our heroine having to run interference not only between the members of the band and the media, but between a father and son whose history is filled with pain and neglect. While Violet tries to save one member of the band, Derek finds himself falling in love with a woman whose own past is filled with abandonment and regret.

The relationship between Violet and Derek is slow to build as Violet continues to push Derek away. Her own personal history is dark and heartbreaking, and with it comes the inability to trust. But Violet also sees herself as an employee of the band, and in this, she isn’t willing to risk her job for a temporary affair with one of rock’s ‘sex gods’ as the media has come to call him. There is an expiry date on Violet’s current assignment and with it an expiry date on her relationship with Derek Valencia. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative. The attraction and need for one another is tangible but the constant misunderstandings, and push and pull of the relationship is a bit heavy. Violet’s lack of trust is fueled by the actions of the man with whom she is falling in love; and the belief that she is just another number in his long list of women and conquests.

The secondary characters include the members of the band: Cooper, Ben and Peter, as well as Slater Vaughn and Emmie from book one YOU REALLY GOT ME. Violet’s co-workers and friends at the wildflower farm-Francesca, and her daughter Mimi –Francesca has caught the eye of the band’s A&R manager Irwin Ledger. We are introduced to a new member of the band-Calix Bourbon-whose vocal pipes may give Slater a run for his money. The requisite evil comes in the form of Ray Montalbano, and Derek’s ex ‘Gen’ who still considers herself in the picture. There is another man vying for Violet’s affections-Randall Oppenheimer-who continues to drive a wedge between Derek and V.

The world building follows the band’s rise to stardom and the imminent fall from grace for one member of the band. We watch as drug, alcohol and sex fuel the after parties and egos; and how a turbulent past feeds the insecurities of two people who have fallen in love.

I WANT YOU TO WANT ME is an engaging, dramatic and sensual story of romance and love. There are moments of intense passion and heartbreaking misunderstandings; the premise is emotional but the constant back and forth between Derek and Violet is an irritation to the overall enjoyment of the story. The characters are colorful, energetic (meet Ben and Cooper) and not without some controversy; the romance is intimate and hopeful. Erika Kelly pulls the reader into an impassioned story of building love where our leading couple must overcome their insecurities and jealousies in order for their relationship to work.

With her sweet personality, brilliant imagination, and penchant for doing the completely unpredictable, Brogan is finding a whole lot of excuses to spend his days—and nights—with Lucy.

Review:

Not So New in Town by Michelle Summers is the second book in her Harmony Homecomings series. This was a sweet romance, with a great couple and equally great secondary characters. Lucy Doolan is our heroine, who decides to return home to Harmony, North Carolina to help her step-sister, who is bedridden for the remainder of her pregnancy. Lucy hasn’t gotten along with her bad step sister, but feels obligated to help her. On her way home, her old car breaks down, but luckily for her, someone stops to help.

Brogan is our hero, who himself has recently return to Harmony to set up one of his health food stores. Brogan plans on getting the store in shape, and go back to N.Y. When he picks up Lucy on the side road, both are shocked to see each after so many years. Lucy had a crush on Brogan, but he was only interested in her sister.

This was a slow to build romance between two unlikely people. Brogan was health conscious, and Lucy was all about junk food. They were pretty hilarious together, him trying to get her to eat his granola, or special Banana muffins and she was only interested in Cheetos or Krispy Kreme donuts.

Lucy was a marketing guru, and Brogan convinces her help him make his store in Harmony successful. Lucy accepts, and as the story continues, there was much more hilarity, as she forces him to participate in many events promoting his healthy food, especially with all the women who hang all over the hot Brogan.

In between all of this, Lucy not only has to slave over her sister, she also must take care of her teen age nephew, who is a handful, sneaking out at night. Lucy gets Brogan to help, since he used to play football, and can win over the boy. Their relationship continues to escalate into a steamy sizzling affair, with both not interested in anything permanent, and each planning to leave town as soon as they can. Just when he begins to feel that perhaps this relationship with Lucy can be something more, he meets the father he has not seen in many years. This is the straw that will break him, and he will run back to NY without telling Lucy.

It will take friends, and family to intercede and set a trap for Brogan and Lucy to hope for our happy ending. Michelle Summers has written another delightful story in her Harmony Homecoming series. Not So New in Town was a fun, sexy and hilarious story that I loved from the start to finish. I suggest to read this book.

Guest Post-White and Aqua

Today we are pleased to sit down with Lucy Doolan and Brogan Reese, the hero and heroine in Michele Summer’s latest, Not So New In Town (July 2015). Lucy and Brogan are going to answer a question about their relationship and tell us a bit more about themselves!

Which of these do you have the most of: sense of humor, sense of time, sense of adventure, common sense?

Lucy: Sense of humor. You need it living in small town Harmony, NC.

Brogan: Common sense. I need it living with Lucy. *Umph* Dang, Lucy, your elbow bruised my rib!

excerpt

““Let’s dance”—Brogan shoved his chair back, grabbing Lucy’s hand—“and give these two some alone time.”
“I don’t want to dance.”
“Sure you do. They’re playing Trace Adkins.”
Wanda helped by pushing Lucy’s chair from the table with her foot. Brogan tugged Lucy around more dining tables to the middle of the sawdust-covered dance floor, where couples swayed to the band’s rendition of “Every Light in the House.” Slipping his right hand around the small of her back, he pressed her plush curves into his chest. Her smooth hair tickled his chin, and the smell of citrus filled his head. Lucy stood stiff as a telephone pole as he tried maneuvering to the slow beat of the music.
“You gonna dance like a robot all night, or just with me?” He cocked his head and peered into her face, where doubt disappeared and desire took over as her gaze softened. Brogan liked that look as he slightly bent his knees, pulling her closer. “I won’t bite unless you want me to,” he whispered next to her ear.
“Good to know.” She heaved a shaky sigh. “Well, I guess you’re better than Clancy Perry over there looking like he wants to cut in.” Looping her left arm around his neck, she rocked her hips to the beat. Brogan swallowed a groan. Right now nothing else mattered. All he cared about was luscious Lucy filling his arms.
“Let’s look like we mean it so Clancy or his brother, Clinton, won’t get any ideas.” He bent as if to kiss her.
“You don’t mind if I start singing, do you?” she said, smiling as she moved away from his lips.
Brogan’s head jerked back. “Oh, hell no. My ears haven’t recovered from this morning.”
“I know all the words.” Tossing him a saucy look, she started to hum…loudly.
“Shut up and dance.” Brogan tucked her back under his chin and shook with laughter.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date June 23, 2015

Jackson Steele and Sylvia Brooks continue to thrill in the second novel of a scintillating, emotionally charged new trilogy that returns to the world of J. Kenner’s beloved Stark novels: Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete Me.

I never thought I’d lose control, but his desire took me right to the edge.

Powerful, ambitious, and devastatingly sexy, Jackson Steele was unlike any other man I’d ever known. He went after what he wanted with his whole mind, body, and soul—and I was the woman in his sights. One touch and I surrendered, one night together and I was undone.

Jackson and I had secrets, dark pieces of our pasts that threatened to swallow us both. We couldn’t outrun our demons, or the people trying to tear us apart. But in our passion we found salvation, and in each other’s arms we found release.

I was scared to trust Jackson fully, to finally let go. Yet no matter the dangers that lay ahead, I knew I was his—and now that we’ve laid claim, there’s no more holding back.

On My Knees is intended for mature audiences.

REVIEW: ON MY KNEES is the second installment in J. Kenner’s adult, contemporary Stark International Trilogy erotic romance series focusing on design architect Jackson Steele, and personal assistant Sylvia Brooks. The Stark International Trilogy is a spin off from J. Kenner’s Stark Trilogy (Damien and Nikki Stark). ON MY KNEES should not be read as a stand alone as it is part 2 of a 3 part trilogy.

Told from first person point of view (Sylvia Brooks) with some third person perspective (Jackson Steele) ON MY KNEES is the continuing story of the rekindling romance between our leading couple, as well as Jackson’s current architectural design work for Stark International. As Damien Stark continues to expand his empire, Jackson is hired by Sylvia Brooks to design Stark’s latest luxury hotel and island.

ON MY KNEES follows Jackson and Sylvia as their relationship begins to crumble when too many secrets and lies of omission find our couple struggling with trust, betrayal and falling in love. Jackson has a past that is slowly revealing itself to the reader, and also to the woman who holds his heart, but his secrets continue to send our heroine running with every revelation and heartbreaking story. As Sylvia’s personal life begins to unravel, the demons from her past will threaten Sylvia’s hold on her emotional stability, and Jackson’s hold on his temper.

The relationship between Sylvia and Jackson is sexually erotic. The $ex scenes are graphic, numerous, passionate and explorative. Jackson likes a little kink in the bedroom, but saying that Sylvia and Jackson use $ex as a way to cope with life and everything it has to offer. As our couple struggle with their personal demons, $ex becomes a necessary tool to survive: anytime, anywhere, anyhow. The majority of the novel finds Jackson and Sylvia in explicit sexual situations. If you are looking for an erotic storyline with plenty of $ex ON MY KNEES delivers.

ON MY KNEES is a suspense-filled storyline where Jackson and Sylvia must overcome a number of obstacles, hidden demons, and secrets from the past. As each hurdle is surpassed, another hurdle surfaces forcing our couple into a downward spiral straddling the abyss into emotional h*ll. Jackson’s untold secrets find Sylvia at odds between hatred and love for the man of her heart.

J. Kenner ON MY KNEES ends with another major cliff hanger, so beware when you begin your adventure into book two. The storyline is erotic and seductive; the characters charismatic, dynamic and complex; the cliff hanger is an emotional turn but not necessarily unexpected. You will definitely make comparisons with J. Kenner’s original Stark Trilogy with the similar emotional and personal fall out for both hero and heroine, alike.

I never let anyone get too close—but he’s the only man who’s ever made me feel alive.

SEAL Wolf Hunting (Heart of the Wolf #16) by Terry Spear-Review and Book Tour

SEAL WOLF HUNTING (Heart of the Wolf 16) by Terry Spear-Review and Book Tour

Seal Wolf Hunting

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / The Book Depository

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 7, 2015

Paul Cunningham is one of the only bachelors left on the SEAL wolf team, and he’s less than thrilled to hear he’s been volunteered for a local charity bachelor auction.

Lori Greypaw suspected that her grandmother would use the auction as an opportunity to fix her up. So she’s not surprised when she “buys” Paul to help Lori renovate her mountain cabin for a week. Lori’s had a crush on the sexy SEAL wolf for years, but he proves to be handy with more than a hammer when two fugitives come knocking and he’ll do anything to protect the woman he’s falling for.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: SEAL WOLF HUNTING is the sixteenth installment in Terry Spear’s Heart of the Wolf paranormal romance series. This is Navy SEAL and alpha wolf Paul Cunningham, and martial arts instructor/wolf Lori Greypaw’s storyline-a friends to lovers/fated mating romance between two people who have known one another since their childhood. SEAL WOLF HUNTING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspectives SEAL WOLF HUNTING follows Paul and Lori as they rekindle their friendship and potential relationship upon Paul’s return to civilian life. Paul and his fellow SEAL Allan have been enlisted as potential prizes in the town’s bachelor honey-do auction, and several women have their eyes set on the Pack Alpha. When Paul and Lori begin working on her grandma’s log cabin, their attraction to one another builds. Meanwhile a series of bank robberies has the townsfolk on edge, and the return of three rogue wolves threatens the peace within Paul and Lori’s pack.

The prior relationship between Paul and Lori has already been established. Paul has yet to ask Lori to be his mate, but everyone knows it is only a matter of time. There is an outside threat to Paul’s relationship with Lori, one that finds Lori on the receiving end of some harassment and threats. The $ex scenes are limited; there are no graphic details or over the top erotic scenarios. But, saying that, the emotional and romantic connection between our leading couple is not readily apparent; their mating felt disconnected to the storyline-it was as though it was something that was expected of our couple, and they went ahead and mated for the sake of the Pack. I didn’t feel the desire or the love. Compared to Terry’s other novels, SEAL WOLF HUNTING had a different vibe and exposition, as though someone else wrote the story.

The secondary characters include Paul’s best friend and second in command Allan, and his sister Rose. We are also introduced to the extended family and friends, and several newcomers as the pack begins to expand under Paul and Lori’s lead.

SEAL WOLF HUNTING is a simple read but the writing style felt jumpy; there was an uneven flow to the text, as though details were missing or presumed. The storyline is entertaining in its’ presentation; the characters are engaging and colorful; the happily ever after not unexpected. There is a new threat to the shifters, one that must be investigated, as it affects all of the wolves throughout the series.

If you are a fan of shifter storylines, Terry Spear’s HEART OF THE WOLF is an enjoyable series with happily ever afters for all of her leading characters.

Paul watched Lori as she looked toward the west, her mouth still curved in a tantalizing smile. “Sunset’s gone. Do you want to keep me company while I make the jam for tomorrow?”
He sure did and joined Lori in the kitchen, where she began washing her bucket of berries. He followed her lead and washed his. Then she put them all in a big saucepan and added sugar in the same quantity as the huckleberries. After that, she dissolved pectin and added it to the fruit and sugar mixture.
“Do you want me to break up the berries more? Less?” She paused in stirring them and crushing some to make the mixture more jelly-like.
He peered over her shoulder, breathing in the sweet berry-and-sugar mixture and Lori’s sweet she-wolf scent. “Smells great. Looks great.” He wasn’t just talking about the jam. “Just right.” He hadn’t eaten homemade jelly in eons, so this was really a special treat. He remembered fondly eating jam on bread before it had even cooled all the way when his mother made it.
Lori looked up at him and smiled a little. He wasn’t moving out of her space, just smiling down at her, his mouth close to hers. Hell, he’d never enjoyed watching someone make jam as much as he did Lori. He was ready to kiss her again. She shook her head and turned to finish cooking the jam. He only let her get away with avoiding any further entanglement because he didn’t want to make her burn the jam. Otherwise, he would have kissed her.
Lori began to transfer the jam into jars and seal them. She’d let the jars cool down so she and Paul could have some jam tomorrow.
“See? I knew what you’d like for breakfast. Waffles, pancakes, or French toast with fresh huckleberry jam.” She licked some of the jam off the spoon she’d used to stir it.
The way her tongue licked the spoon made him think of tangling his tongue with hers again.
“Or honey. Don’t forget how much I like honey,” he said. He let his gaze switch again from the spoon to her lips and thought about how much he’d enjoyed licking the honey off them.
She chuckled.
Unable to stop himself and hoping Lori was of a like mind, he took the spoon from her and set it in the empty saucepan. Then he pulled her into his arms and kissed her again, tasting the sugary berries on her lips and tongue as she wrapped her arms around his neck and gave in to the kiss.
“I couldn’t wait for breakfast.”

Q&A

Terry Spear’s latest paranormal romance, SEAL Wolf Hunting, comes out this July! To celebrate, Terry has answered a few questions from us about herself and her career as an author.

What or who was the inspiration behind your HEART OF THE WOLF series?

A combination of Dracula and Wolf Man—as far as a man who was misunderstood and needed to be loved too, and Call of the Wild and White Fang by Jack London who gave me a love for wolves.

How do you keep the plot unpredictable without sacrificing content or believability?

A lot of things I write about are based on new stories, true stories, wolf stories, and then I just incorporate them into the werewolves’ world.

Do you listen to music while writing? If so, does the style of music influence the storyline direction?

Sometimes, and yes. I tend to listen to movie adventure themes so it has a lot of action and forward movement.

Sea Haven #4
by Christine Feehan
Genre: adult, contemporary, paranormal, romance
Release Date:July 7, 2015

Earth Bound June 15Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / The Book Depository / BAM

Description
After escaping from a cult, Lexi found refuge with her sisters on the farm that more than sustained her body—it nurtured her soul as well. But she never forgot the terror she left behind or the always present fear that the cult would find her again, and claim her. Then her nightmare came true.

Lexi was discovered and threatened—only to be suddenly saved by a stranger. He is Gavriil Prakenskii, and he’s awestruck by the woman he’s rescued. She is destined for him. He can feel it in his soul. But how can Lexi find happiness with a man steeped in secrets and shadows, one intimately acquainted with violence, and whose very love could be the death of them?

Review:

Earthbound by Christine Feehan is the 4th book in her wonderful Sea Haven/Sisters of the Heart series. Except for the Dark Blood trilogy, I have been a little disappointed with Christine’s recent additions to her other series. But I am thrilled to say that the Sea Haven/Sisters of the Hearts remains simply a fantastic read, as this is the Christine Feehan that I have always loved. Earthbound was a fabulous read and Lexi and Gavrill were a sensational couple. The romance between them was beautiful to watch, as their love grew out of the depths of darkness. Did I say I love this series?

Lexi is our heroine, she is an earth elemental, and she is the youngest of the sisters who live on the farm they built in Sea Haven. Though all of the sisters bonded together, each having some kind of tragedy that originally brought them together, it is Lexis who is the most damaged. When she was 8 years old, she was kidnapped and tortured as part of cult. She managed to escape into the witness protection program, ending up in Sea Haven with her new family of sisters, but her fears of being found remain strong, causing her panic attacks.

When someone does find her, it will be Gavrill, another one of the Prakenskii brothers who will rescue her. For those who may not know this series, the Prakenskii’s are violent and dangerous men, who were trained as children, and forced to kill for their government. One by one (each book) they arrive in Sea Haven to find their mate, and peace. They are all the brothers of Ilya, our hero in the Drakes Sister, who happens to be the baby brother.

Gavrill strikes fear even to his brothers, as he is totally dark, but it will be Lexi who will help heal and open up his heart to feelings he has never felt before. At the same time, Lexi is also badly flawed, and Gavril will slowly help her get past her terrorizing childhood.

This was a wonderful story, filled with suspense, excitement, family bonding, and a romance that pulled strongly on our heartstrings. Finally Christine has given us a fabulous story, with a super cast of characters, as well as steamy sex that becomes part of the story, not the whole story. But most of all, both Gavrill and Lexi were great together. I love d his protectiveness toward her, how sweet and gentle he was, and his love for Lexi. As tough as he was, it was a joy, as we watched how caring he was to Lexi, being very patient.   The exciting climax with all of them together was great. I loved Earthbound and look forward to the next book. Thank you, Christine Feehan for this wonderful story.

REVIEW:

5 out of 5 for this reader folks!

Oh how I love an amazing medieval romance. “A Sword For His Lady” by Mary Wine had all I have come to love in my medieval romances .. strong hero who is stubborn but has a sense of humour, honour and loyalty. A heroine that can match that stubborn charm by being the strong resourceful woman, who cares more about her people than she does herself. A storyline that has some believability of it’s time and that is enriched with battle and history .. oh and a nasty villain who you really hope gets what is due.

Set in the time of Richard the Lionheart, our hero is Ramon de Segrave, who after proving himself on the battlefield had been awarded lands and titles by King Richard. Included in his winnings is the hand of marriage to our heroine Isabel of Camoys. Isabel was married to a horrible man and would pray for his demise on the battlefield believing she had enough strength and support of her people to keep her home running. When her prayers of his demise are answered she is relieved, until she comes to understand that she is to wed once again. Not having any of that, the battle of hearts begins.

Ramon is worthy of his Knighted title. He is domineering yet sensible and caring, he has a fun playful side that seems to come out with Isabel, but he is ever much the dangerous foe. He is fair and believes he can sway Isabel to believe that they can have a happy union. Isabel thwarts all his efforts at first and it isn’t until her keep comes into serious harm that she realizes marriage to Ramon is a duty she must do to keep her people safe. It it the last thing she expects when her hearts begins to open to this Knight and she comes to recognize that he is truely a part of her home.

These two were so well matched. I adored Isabel as she was the brains behind keeping her lands running effectively before Ramon came into the picture. I loved how Ramon wasn’t put off but rather intrigued by a woman who had accomplished so much successfully without the aid of a man. I also loved how “when you know what” hit the fan, that Ramon was not a complete arse about taking the “man reigns”. There was a friendship that bloomed between the two and a mutual respect. When we get to the conflict of the story and the secrets that were hidden, Mary Wine perfectly times the love and lust aspect to her story.

Secondary characters were set up for what I hope is more to this series. If you love a strong medieval romance then this is certainly a book for you! You will find it all here and chances are you will be wanting for more of the same!

HAPPY READING!

excerpt

He lifted one foot and set it on the bottom step.
“What are you doing?”
“I am entering the keep.” His tone made it clear he knew he was invading her home.
“No.” She fought back her breathlessness. “You shall not.”
She backed up, but forced herself to stop in the doorway.
“Why not, my lady?”
He climbed another step and she felt her knees quiver. It was an insane reaction, one that shocked her with how intense it was its intensity.
“You do not belong in the keep. This is my home.”
He frowned but climbed another step to stand on even ground with her. Isabel lifted her chin so she might maintain eye contact.
“I will be making a full assessment of this structure, lady. You may stand aside or I shall remove you from my path.”
She should have lowered herself and gracefully glided out of the doorway. It was the only response the code of chivalry afforded her, but she couldn’t force herself to do it. She didn’t feel in control of her emotions; they were scattering like autumn leaves. Her heart accelerated. He was pressing closer, watching her, gauging her reactions to him. She’d never felt so exposed. Never felt like any man took so much notice of her. He reached for her, his expression full of promise.
“No one enters this keep without bathing.” She spat the words out in a rush and had to pull in a deep breath because her lungs burned when she was finished. At last, relief flowed through her, for she had found a valid argument to use.
The baron’s expression didn’t change. His hands were clenched around his wide leather belt, his knuckles turning white.
“Take yourself off to the bath house, my lord baron.” She was being brazen.
He suddenly grunted, amusement returning to his eyes. “Very well lady, since you wish to offer me your hospitality, I accept.”
She stared at him, uncertain of the flicker burning in his dark eyes. This wasn’t a man who knew defeat, and the muscles in her neck tightened when his lips twitched into a smug grin once again.
An expression that was full of victory.
“I shall enjoy having you bathe me, Isabel. It is certainly a good place for us to begin to learn more about one another.” A gleam appeared in his eyes that sent a shiver down her body.
“I did not offer to bathe you myself.” Her voice was a horrified whisper. He stepped closer, capturing her wrist in a grip that surprised her because it lacked pain with its gentleness. Instead, she felt their connection keenly, so much so, it felt as though that she couldn’t form a single, sensible thought. Logic had always offered her salvation in the past. Before Ramon, it crumbled away, leaving her at his mercy.
“You claim you are no maiden, so it is only customary for you to attend me since you are the lady of this keep.” His voice lowered. “Or perhaps, you would prefer not to act as a lady. In such a case…I will be most pleased to dispense with ceremony.”
