He doesn’t have time for a runaway bride case. But the bride is a supermodel who also happens to be supernatural, so he and his team must handle damage control. The last thing Devin needs to deal with is a tempting woman who insists on being part of the investigation…and has half the horny supernatural male population chasing after her. But with humans and supernaturals bent on destroying each other, Alex and Devin must put aside their differences and work together. Can Devin protect Alex and defeat the enemy without his powers? And now that Alex knows supernaturals do exist, can she once again believe in a fairy-tale happily ever after?

Review:

A.E. Jones is becoming a favourite. When I got the chance to review the start of a new series with In Sickness and in Elf, I jumped at the chance. What a great new book it turned out to be.

Alex hates weddings with a passion, but being left at the altar can do that to a girl.  So running away from that event was the only act for Alex, the only problems she has is that her family are all in the business of wedding planners!! Oh and she has no idea that they cater for supernatural beings as well as humans. Alex has promised her grandmother that she will help find out why the last bride was a runaway at the altar, which threatens to ruin the Bennett Wedding business.

Devin is a paranormal investigator, without paranormal powers. How can he do his job?  Pretty well apparently…. he had his powers taken away from him and is awaiting his trial. He is still helping out whilst waiting for the summons to begin his trial.

Devin and Alex work well together (eventually); that is when Alex finally starts to believe that there are things that go bump in the night, and that she isn’t going mad. The attraction between them is almost instantaneous, but neither want to act on it, so both pretend that the sparks they feel for each other don’t really exist.

As they dig deeper in their investigation, they realize that a few other weddings her family organized ran into problems.  Is it bad luck, or are darker forces working to put the Bennett family out of business?

The story is well written and all the characters are very believable. The plot moves at just the right pace, and the attraction between Alex and Devin was a nice addition.

I love the grandmother’s tips for a perfect wedding, which did make me chuckle. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series, and I have no problem recommending this series.

Description:
The daughter of a sultan alpha, Selena Kurt agrees to an arranged wulfkin mating to protect her sister from a dangerous alpha from the enemy clan. To her surprise, her match is Marcin Ulf, the next in line for the Hungarian throne . . . and the wulfkin who broke her heart years ago.

Marcin is just as shocked to learn he’ll be matched to the enemy’s daughter and the woman he’s never forgotten. Before they can be paired, however, they’re drawn into a tournament where Marcin will compete to free his estranged imprisoned brother, while Selena battles for the life of another wulfkin alpha. Both intend to seize this chance to save those they’re fighting for – even if it means facing off with one another just as their romance rekindles.

Will tribe loyalty triumph, or will they realize they’re better off as a team before it’s too late?

Review:

Cloaked in Blood by T.F. Walsh is the next book in The Wulfkin Legacy series.  The story unfolds at the Hungarian castle of the horribly wretched Varlac Emperor Levin.  As the Varlac Emperor, Levin ruled over every alpha and pack in Europe with a cruel and torturous hand.  Levin has two sons, Enre and Marcin.  Enre left the Hungarian pack because of the terrible treatment he received at the hands of his father.  Marcin couldn’t blame Enre for running away but that didn’t ease the pain of growing up without his brother.  Levin makes up his own rules, regardless of how wrong they may be.  It makes him happy to torture and hurt others, even if it is his own family.  Levin has taken Enre and Daciana as prisoners from the Transylvanian pack to punish them for crimes their previous alphas had performed.  Marcin was already plotting to remove Levin as the Emperor for the safety of all the wulfkin, but the process was painstakingly slow.  Saving Enre and Daciana from punishment was now the most important task.  And then in walks his teenage love, Selena. Surprise surprise surprise!

In order to keep the peace between the packs, Selena had agreed to be mated to Marcin.  Selena’s father, Sultan Boran and Emperor Levin had agreed to this deal to hopefully have a more peaceful future.  Sultan Boran wanted the peace between packs, Levin did not.  Selena had agreed to the union to protect her younger sister Aisha from being mated to a strange pack.  Marcin and Selena had also had an ill fated relationship when they were teenagers, so deep down, Selena still had feelings for Marcin.  Little did Selena and Marcin know how their “arranged” mating would change the future of all wulfkins.

Now that I’ve given you a brief summary of the story, let’s get to my review……  Levin is so horrible!  I just want to reach into the book and rip him out of the pages and bash him around the way The Hulk smashed Loki in the Avengers!  But as much as I hate him, he is the perfect villain.  So dastardly and evil, I just love to hate him.  Now Marcin has the true characteristics of what a Varlac Emperor should be, he cares about his pack and fights to protect them.  And Selena is a kick butt woman!  No shrinking violet here.  She is woman/wulfkin, hear her roar!  This book is nail biting, keep you on the edge of your seat, fantastic.  You never expect what happens.  You’ll be reading a page and then BAM, plot twist!  This book in the series continues to build on the previous books and it just gets better and better the more I read.  Once again, T.F. Walsh pulled me into the wulfkin world and has me waiting impatiently for the next book.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 21, 2016

Asteria of the Second Legion of demons has messed up. Royally. With a capital everything. Certain that her dark lord is about to end her in the most painful way imaginable, she’s stunned when the fallen angel offers her an uncharacteristic shot at redemption—and determined not to fail him again. With her life on the line, she sets out on a mission that sounds easy but proves to be far from it when a hot slice of angelic eye candy comes storming into her life, stirring dangerous desires and tempting her more than any male before him.

Fifth Commander of the Echelon, the highest order of angels in Heaven and those responsible for hunting demons, he will allow nothing to stand in the way of fulfilling the mission he began close to a century ago so he can finally return to his home. On the verge of securing the half-breed he has been hunting, he can almost taste victory—until a sassy demoness struts into his life, awakening wicked needs and forbidden hungers that will test him to his limit.

When their mission brings them on a collision course, can they fight the fierce heat of the passion that blazes between them to claim a victory for their side or will it burn their resistance to ashes and set their hearts on fire with a love both forbidden and eternal?

REVIEW: AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS is the tenth installment in Felicity Heaton’s adult ETERNAL MATES paranormal/fantasy romance series. This is angel and Fifth Commander of the Echelon ‘Rey’, and Hell’s demon Asteria of the Second Legion’s story line. AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Asteria and Rey) AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS is a story of forbidden love that follows the building relationship between one of Heaven’s angels, and one of Hell’s demons. Asteria and Rey have been sent on assignment by their respective ‘leaders’, each searching for a certain half-breed witch who reveals more than our couple could have imagined. When Asteria finds herself in the land of the Fae, she comes face to face with one of Heaven’s angels-a man who would become her future and potential downfall.

The relationship between our couple begins acrimoniously. Our angel, whom Asteria names Rey, is a hunter of demons but for some reason he is unable to destroy the woman with whom he will fall in love. Asteria is a demon; a sassy female who must complete her assignment or face the wrath of Satan-himself. Asteria pushes all of Rey’s buttons, while Rey attempts to keep his distance from the sexy demon. The $ex scenes, although limited in number, are seductive and provocative.

AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS, like most of Heaton’s previous intallments, is mostly a narrative where the reader follows the story line through the leading character’s thoughts, ideas and reflections. The series arc has taken on a new direction. There is a war on the horizon between Heaven and Hell, and our couple may have committed themselves to one side more than the other. The premise is an adventure with a few surprises; the characters are colorful, exotic and animated; the romance is intimate and emotional. Felicity Heaton’s AWAKENED BY A DEMONESS will captivate your imagination leaving your breathless for more.

Asteria didn’t like the way the angel was eyeing her. She wanted to say that she doubted he would attack her in such a public place, but angels were a pain in the arse like that and didn’t normally give a fuck about pulling innocents into their battles if it meant another demon bit the dust. She kept an eye on him as she drank her tankard of brew, enjoying the buzz that tripped through her with each sip.

When the males loitering around her feet began to look as if they were losing interest, she flashed them another flirty smile and flicked her black hair over her shoulder, revealing her cleavage and pulling them back under her spell. They weren’t difficult to manipulate. It wasn’t even taking all of her wiles to keep them firmly under her control and thinking they had a shot with her.

As if.

She shuddered at just the thought. None of the fae and immortals below her were worthy of her attention. They certainly weren’t the type of male she would bang.

Her eyes betrayed her and slid towards the angel where he casually leaned against a stone building to her left, stunning pale green eyes scanning the busy square. He folded his muscular arms across his broad chest, causing his black t-shirt to stretch tight, and frowned as he blinked. When his eyes opened again, they were locked on her. She shivered, a hot bolt of lightning zinging through her bones.

She pulled down a breath to steady herself and glared at him for good measure, until he looked away from her.

She had a problem with him.

Mostly based on the fact he was too bloody handsome.

The sort of handsome that had her eyes gravitating towards him all the time and seemed to turn the sensible part of her brain to mush because she kept forgetting that he wasn’t just eye candy.

He was angelic eye candy.

He was all good, and bright, and holier-than-thou and shit that got her back up. But by the Devil, he was gorgeous.

She didn’t have to work hard to imagine just how chiselled and perfect his body was beneath the damned clothes that concealed it. If the toned sinewy muscles of his bare arms were anything to go by, the delicious corded perfection of his deltoids and those bulging biceps, and sexy toned forearms, then he was a god beneath the irritating black t-shirt and jeans.

She wanted to tear them off him to see if she was right.

With her teeth.

She could just imagine how he would react to that too, and what sort of punishment would await her if anyone back home found out she had banged an angel.

Although, if she screwed him and he fell from grace, she would probably get a promotion and a hefty reward from the Devil. He liked to reward that sort of thing. Another fallen angel for his ranks would certainly go a long way towards scrubbing the black stain off her name.

She shook her head, dislodging that idea.

She had been stupid enough to approach the angel when she had spotted him across the square, placing herself in grave danger. Seducing him to the dark side was not going to happen. She wasn’t even sure why she had confronted him. She wasn’t the sort to do something so reckless, not under normal circumstances. The sight of the angel had panicked her though, and she put it down to fear of what her dark lord would do to her if she failed this mission. That fear had made her attempt to drive the angel off her turf.

She was still surprised he hadn’t killed her.

Asteria dragged her eyes away from him, dropped them back to her drooling band of idiots, and smiled at all of them.

“So, about this coven,” she said and they all spoke at once, a cacophony that made her want to scream as she tried to understand what they were rushing to tell her.

She picked out a few juicy titbits about the coven she was meant to locate, the most annoying one being that they had moved on and were travelling south.

Damn it.

Another hot shiver tripped through her and she tensed in response to the feel of the angel’s eyes on her again. She tried to ignore him, but it wasn’t long before her eyes had gravitated back to him.

Why had she confronted him, placing herself in the firing line of his wrath?

It had been an urge at the time and she had followed it, but now that she was questioning it, she wasn’t sure what the urge had really been or where it had come from. She had set eyes on him, had known instinctively that he was an angel, and the next thing she had known, she had been storming across the square towards him, her best you-know-you-want-this strut in place.

She had flirted with him.

What the ever living Hell was wrong with her?

Flirted.

She had convinced herself that it had been to rile him and get his back up, because irritating an angel had been fun, but there was a part of her that had to work pretty damn hard to pretend that some of it hadn’t been real. She hadn’t really flirted with him. She hadn’t really imagined just how hot it might be to lure him over to the dark side. She really hadn’t lost herself in a fantasy about just how incredible he might be as a lover, with all that power and strength, and his wicked good looks.

It had all been an act on her part.

Totally an act.

Those stunning peridot eyes slid her way again, sending white-hot lightning arcing through her as they landed on her, and she couldn’t drag her gaze away from his.

She felt weak.

Trembled.

It was being away from Hell. It messed with her powers and left her vulnerable, and that was why he affected her so badly. Here, he was stronger than she was, a threat to her. She didn’t need an angel sniffing around when she was on such an important mission, one where her life was on the line, and he was doing just that. The bastard was listening in on her conversation.

She was starting to feel that the Devil had left out some details, like the fact there was a fucking Echelon after the same target and now tall-blond-and-holy was going to be chasing her tail.

Asteria scowled at him and flipped him the bird.

He arched a pale eyebrow at that and sighed.

He annoyed the hell out of her. He was so damned haughty and self-righteous, just like all the angels. She could feel it from here. He was dripping with goodness and it sickened her. That was it. That was why she found it impossible to keep her eyes off him and ignore him. He affected her because he was sickeningly good… and hot.

He was undeniably hot.

Incredibly hot.

She glared at him and both of his eyebrows rose high on his forehead, a confused look entering his eyes before they emptied of emotion again.

Angels shouldn’t be hot.

Okay, the Devil was a fallen angel and he was a beautiful bastard, but for some reason, it rubbed her the wrong way with this guy. It made her skin itchy, but at the same time it filled her with a twisted need.

She was awfully tempted to try and break his shiny metaphorical halo in half and stick it up his arse, but she was equally tempted to seduce the bastard.

Maybe it would knock him down a peg or three.

Asteria dismissed it. Her dark lord might love a present of a corrupted angel, but there was a tiny part of her that wasn’t sure pleasing him would be the reason she did it. She refused to look too closely at that part, afraid of what she might find.

“Do you know where the Cruyssen coven were heading?” She smiled sweetly at a young scrawny cat shifter and leaned over, giving him a view of her cleavage as she stroked her hand under his chin.

His eyes slid shut as she lightly raked her claws through the messy scruff on his jaw and he practically purred.

The sensation of the angel’s eyes on her grew fiercer, as if he was glaring at her now. She ignored the bastard and kept with her stroking, until the cat shifter was putty in her hands.

“London… t-the fae town near it,” he stammered and looked wounded when she removed her hand and leaned back, turning her attention on the nymph male as he cleared his throat.

Out of all the men gathered at her feet, he was the most tempting, his thick black hair and vivid cerulean eyes setting off his natural good looks. His ripped bare torso didn’t hurt either, giving her something nice to look at as she smiled down at him.

Not as nice as the angel.

Asteria shoved that voice out of her head and kept her focus on the nymph. “You know where this town is?”

He nodded. “At a mansion in the countryside. I can take you there.”

Tempting, but she didn’t need an escort.

Her gaze flicked to the angel again. Although, if he was going to tail her, an escort might be useful. She shook that thought away and shifted her focus back to her boys. She was strong enough to deal with her Echelon friend and she preferred to roll alone.

The sensation of his eyes on her disappeared and the instinct that constantly warned her of danger faded. She resisted the temptation to look to her left and see whether he was still watching her.

“It’s popular with witches,” the wolf shifter put in, his eagerness pleasing her as he stepped closer. She did love the way he panted over her, hunger in his brown eyes. She leaned over and tunnelled her fingers through his mousy hair, clutched it and pulled him closer still. “It’s run by the Rozengard coven.”

“Another coven?” She frowned down at him as she patted him on the head, brushed her palm over his hair and down the side of his face to under his chin. She tipped it up and gripped his jaw.

“A male one. Look for loose white shirts and brown trousers. Their uniform.” He looked as if he wanted a treat for being such a good boy.

She pressed a kiss to her other fingers and touched them to his lips. The poor male almost fainted. Such easy prey.

She slipped into flirting on autopilot with them as she mulled over everything they had told her, flashing them teasing smiles. The angel might be a problem.

Her gaze sought him.

He was gone.

She scanned the throng in the square, covering every inch of it, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Asteria smiled as she realised he had left before he had heard the best part from her informants, one that had given her a solid lead in the form of the Rozengard coven.

This was going to be easier than she had expected.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date: May 24, 2016

When a perfect new love is shattered, two hearts will do anything to pick up the pieces. In this sizzling novel from the author of Stone Walls, irresistible heat leads to sensual thrills—and a secret that changes everything.

Two years ago, Nick Farley was undercover as a bartender in Chicago. The tough-as-steel FBI agent was working all the angles to build a case against a local crime syndicate, but even his intense focus was no match for the sight of Angela Cavallo’s plump pink lips pulling on her drink. All Nick got was one night—the longest, hottest, sweetest night of his life. It could have been the beginning of something real. Instead, she walked away—and Nick watched her go.

Angela has made some mistakes in her life, but Nick was never one of them. Nor was the baby boy he doesn’t know about. But Angela has been running from a stalker for so long that she’s forgotten how to feel safe. So when Nick suddenly reappears in her life, Angela faces a moment of truth. She wants to trust him and reveal her secrets—her life and the life of their son may depend on it—but first she needs to know that Nick can handle her past, and promise the one thing she most craves: a future together.

••••••••••

REVIEW: GLASS CEILINGS is the second installment in A.M. Madden’s contemporary, adult TRUE HEROES romantic suspense series. This is FBI agent Nick Farley, and dress shop assistant Angela Cavallo’s story line. GLASS CEILINGS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Some of the characters from book one Stone Walls play secondary or supporting roles. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nick and Angela) GLASS CEILINGS follows the building but forbidden relationship between undercover FBI agent Nick Farley, and Angelo Cavallo. On assignment in Chicago Nick will find himself attracted to a woman who would be both his curse and his future. One week together finds our couple promising the future but when Angela is unable to return to New York with Nick, without placing him and herself in harm’s way, she pushes Nick away declaring he meant nothing to her or her future. Fast forward two years later and Angela is the prime suspect in a murder of a mob boss’s son.

GLASS CEILINGS finds Angela on the run from her former boyfriend; a man too controlling and too abusive, and in this our heroine tries to stay one step ahead but moving to New York with the man that she loves places Nick in the line of fire, so Angela is determined to protect the people that she loves even if it meant raising her child-Nick’s son-alone. Two years would pass before the father would be introduced to the child he never knew.

The relationship between Nick and Angela is one of instant attraction; insta-lust/love and one that will be destroyed by secrets and lies. Nick has a difficult time finding forgiveness towards the woman who broke his heart but his need to get to know the son he never knew places Nick and Angela together for the future; Angela is a woman caught in the cross fire of a crime syndicate war and family becomes the important factor. The $ex scenes are seductive and provocative.

Madden pulls the reader onto the pages of a romantic tale between two people whose lives were destroyed by power, secrets and lies. The premise is engaging and spirited; the characters are passionate and real; the romance is a struggle to forgive and forget.

The Seduction of Kinley Foster by Lisa Wells – a Review

The Seduction of Kinley Foster by Lisa Wells – a Review

The Seduction of Kinley FosterAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM / The Book Depository

Description:
Librarian Kinley Foster wants to write erotic romance—the steamy, sexy, curl-your-toes kind of stuff. The problem? She desperately needs a little erotic inspiration. And at a romance convention in Vegas, she finds it…or rather him. The sizzlingly sexy guy who refused Kinley—and her virginity—when she was sixteen.

Now it’s time for a little payback.

Literary agent Ian Thompson is a professional. Mentoring an aspiring author is one thing. Giving her a thorough and thoroughly satisfying sexy education is quite another. Especially when she’s as stunning and deliciously curvaceous as Kinley. Yet Ian can’t help himself when Kinley makes him a wager he can’t resist. A wager that will tempt Ian to cross every professional—and every sensual—boundary in the book…

Review:

Kinley Foster is determined to become a published author or erotic romance.  Even though she’s written her manuscript, she’s been told it’s missing something.  She decides to hit up a Romance Convention in Las Vegas to shop her story and to, hopefully, get some inspiration.  Once she lands in Vegas and sees none other than Ian Thompson, her brother’s best friend and the one she yearned for as a teenager, standing there.  Waiting for her!  Seems her brother had let Ian know that Kinley would be in Vegas and wanted him to keep an eye on her.  Oh yeah, and she had no idea that he was a very successful agent……….

Even though she’s still mad at him for rebuffing her advances when she was a teenager, she’s even angrier at him because she caught him on that fateful day with none other than her brother’s fiancé……… Or so it seemed.  Funny thing about timing.  As they say, it’s everything.

The Seduction of Kinley Foster is a well written story that is as fun as it is sweet…and a little hot!  Even though Kinley, at times, acted like she was still that 16 year old (instead of 26) who had her heart ripped out, she was fun to read about.  She’s torn between needing to still be mad at Ian and still being head over heals for the guy whom she thinks took her brother’s fiancé.  She still can’t believe that her brother forgave Ian, but, as I said, timing is everything.  Ian is a great character as well.  I loved the way he and Kinley played off of each other.  And, if I’m being honest, I loved the way they almost tormented each other.  After all, she came to Vegas to get some tips on writing romance and he was all too willing to help.

This is the first book I’ve read by Lisa Wells, and even though it’s #15 in a series, there is no problem in reading this as a stand along.  I had no idea it was a series until I went in search of the blurb about the book for this review.  If you’re looking for a quick and fun read with a couple of great characters, you cannot go wrong with this one.  Well done, Lisa Wells!

REVIEW: THE REAL MRS. PRICE by J.D. Mason is a stand alone, story of mystery, suspense and intrigue with a little bit of paranormal voodoo on the side.

Told from several third person points of view, THE REAL MRS. PRICE follows two converging paths focusing on successful businessman Edward (Eddie) Price-a man with two wives, a secret life, and connections to millions of dollars in missing money and two dead bodies. What ensues is the search for Eddie Price, and the information that will lead to forty seven million dollars.

Lucy Price knew that to get on with her life she would have to find out what happened to her husband. Battered, beaten and bruised, Lucy found herself on the receiving end of Eddie’s threats when she surmised the truth about their missing and now presumably dead friend. Six months later Lucy would hire PI Roman Medlock to look into the whereabouts of her missing husband.

Marlowe Price is the number one suspect in her husband’s murder-the charred remains of man believed to be Eddie Price were found, and with Eddie’s current whereabouts unknown, the police believe the corpse is the husband of local hoodoo priestess Marlowe Price. Enter O.P. (Plato) Wells, a man hired to retrieve the missing funds, and a man willing to do anything to get what he wants.

THE REAL MRS. PRICE focuses on the search for Eddie Price- a man believed to have died, but a man whom both of his wives know could be very much alive. One path follows Roman and Lucy as they try to uncover the truth, and the other path finds Plato searching for the information that may be in Marlowe’s possession. When the two paths converge, both couples discover they are looking for the same man but for different purposes and outcomes.

Both relationships (Roman and Lucy: Plato and Marlowe) result in sexual tension and plenty of chemistry. Plato is a man determined to seduce Marlowe into getting what he wants and needs; Lucy is a woman, too long without the companionship of a man. The $ex scenes are intimate without the over the top graphic sexual imagery.

THE REAL MRS. PRICE is a story of mystery and suspense but never is their any doubt about the who, what and why. The reader is aware of Eddie’s actions but it is Eddie’s absence and whereabouts that are a concern for everyone involved. The story line begins slowly, drags in a few spots, but overall an intriguing story of one man’s greed, avarice and appetite for money and power. The addition of the ‘voodoo magic’ is a bit of a distraction with no real purpose but to forewarn about the appearance of Plato Wells although it does add for some side-story interactions with other characters and events. The premise is engaging, and the characters are colorful, varied and entertaining.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 24, 2016

Secrets and seduction make for an explosive combination in HelenKay Dimon’s edgy, thrilling new series, which kicks off with a novel about two men who can handle any threat—except the one posed by desire.

Fisher Braun knows how to keep a secret. As a covert paramilitary operative, his job—and his life—depends on it. He’s at the top of his game, ready for action and always in control. No enemy has ever brought him to his knees, but one lover has: Zachary Allen, the man currently sharing his bed. The perfect package of brains and brawn, Zach is someone worth coming home to, and Fisher hates keeping him in the dark about what he does. But the lies keep Zach safe. Until the day Fisher loses everything. . . .

Zachary Allen is no innocent civilian. Although he plays the tech geek, in reality he’s deep undercover for the CIA. In a horrible twist of fate, the criminal enterprise he’s infiltrated has set its sights on the man whose touch drives him wild. Zach would do anything for Fisher—except blow his own cover. Now, in order to save him, Zach must betray him first. And he needs Fisher to trust him with all his heart if they want to make it out alive.

REVIEW: MR. AND MR. SMITH is the first installment in HelenKay Dimon’s new, contemporary, adult, romantic suspense series. This is CIA operatives Fisher Braun, and Zachary Allen’s story line- an M/M romantic suspense story with scenes of M/M sexual imagery.

Told from third person point of view MR. AND MR. SMITH focuses on the lies and betrayal between Fisher Braun and Zachary Allen, and the take down of an international criminal ring known as Pentasus. Fisher is an agent with the Special Activities Division (SAD) of the CIA currently on assignment in Britain, where he lives with his boyfriend Zachary Allen. Returning home, Fisher discovers their house has been ransacked and Zach has been taken hostage by the very group Fisher had been investigating. What ensues is the search and rescue of Zachary Allen, and the revelation that Zach is not the man he presented himself to be.

The storyline line focuses on the deceit, lies, and betrayal between two men who have kept hidden, from one another, their CIA assignment and current connections with SAD. While Fisher is destroyed by Zach’s deceit, he is unwilling to accept responsibility for his own lies and betrayal of the man with whom he has fallen in love.

The relationship between Zach and Fisher has already been established at the beginning of the story (and told through flashbacks and memories) but the reader is witness to the fall out from the dishonesty, and Zach’s undercover assignment where Fisher is the intended victim. While Fisher is unable to forgive and forget, he is a man determined to get in one or two last rounds of unforgiving $ex before Zach is sent back in undercover. The $ex scenes are intense, impulsive and energetic as Fisher is angered by Zach’s perceived betrayal. The sexual chemistry and attraction is palpable.

We are introduced to several CIA agents and members of the British Special Activities Division including Fisher’s professional partner Nathan. Nathan’s presence is a balm to Fisher’s anger and resentment. Nathan adds a bit of comic relief.

MR. AND MR. SMITH is a suspense filled story. There are moments of abrasive and emotional tantrums (courtesy of Fisher Braun), and inspiring scenes of one man’s love for another. The premise is entertaining; the characters are an eclectic mix of intense, impassioned and real; the romance is a fight to the finish.

REVIEW: SUGAR DADDY is the first installment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult SUGAR BOWL erotic, romance trilogy focusing on college student Sela Halstead, and IT guru and co-owner of The Sugar Bowl dating website Beckett North.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Beck and Sela) using present day and some memories and flashbacks, SUGAR DADDY focuses on revenge, retribution, secrets and lies, and falling in love. Approximately nine years earlier, at the age of sixteen, Sela was drugged and brutally raped by several college boys leaving our heroine emotionally, mentally and physically battered with PTSD, flashbacks and depression. Fast forward to present day where one of her rapists is now part owner of an exclusive dating website known as The Sugar Bowl, and Sela is determined to get her revenge. As Sela targets Jonathon Townsend at a Sugar Bowl party, she will come face to face with his business partner Beckett North, and the man who will change her future. What ensues is a building relationship that leads to something more until Sela tries to uncover all of Beckett and Jonathon’s secrets.

The relationship between Beck and Sela begins as an arrangement-one month together where Beck will become Sela’s ‘sugar daddy’, and Sela offers up everything Beckett could want. As the story line builds, so too does the relationship becoming something more until Sela pursues her journey of revenge. The $ex scenes are seductive, provocative and erotic.

SUGAR DADDY is a story with a little bit of mystery and suspense, dark secrets and dangerous lies, relationships and power. Our heroine treads a fine line, never revealing the truth yet hoping for an opportunity to take down Jonathon Townsend while keeping her lover in the dark.

Sawyer Bennett’s SUGAR DADDY is passionate, energetic and engaging. The premise is captivating; the characters are intense and emotional; the romance intimate and moving. The story line ends on a cliff hanger as SUGAR DADDY is book one in a three part trilogy. You can’t go wrong with Sawyer Bennett.
