Review:

To Capture an Ancient by M.A. Abraham is a novella that is part of her wonderful Elven Chronicles series.  Earane and Felcor are our heroes in this book, but the story revolves around the upcoming war that threatens the lives of the Elven Kingdom, as we know it.

To Capture an Ancient begins at the time where things were left off in the last book, with Gabriel and all the Elves trying to make plans to put their people in safe places, and be prepared for this war, where the reports are saying they will be seriously outnumbered by the demons. Disaster and destruction is on the horizon.

Earane, who is King Leissen and Aredhel daughter, is our heroine.  She is a dark elf, and a leader of the Elite Guards .  Earane is a very confidant and strong young lady, who doesn’t fear fighting and killing demons.  When she comes upon another Elf fighting off a demon attack, Earane will come to help.  When the battle has been won, she will face the man who is her lifemate.   Felcor, an ancient elf, also recognizes that he has finally found his lifemate in Earane.  In between fighting off some demons, the two will make their bond and  lifemate claiming.  They are once again attacked by Demons, and just when the situation becomes dire, Gabrielle and Eol will come to their rescue.

Gabriel is not a happy camper, and dresses down both Earane and Felcor for being careless, and not quickly getting the information they found to him and the others.  Everyone realizes that Gabriel is under terrible stress, and not sleeping. It will take Eden to force him to take a break and rest.

We watch as all the Elves try to find a way to protect their loves ones, and prepare to lose some of their lands to ward off the major demon attack.  To Capture an Ancient is a short story that will lead us to the next full novel, Kings of the Empire, and the demon war.  I cannot wait for this book, and will worry until then what will happen to our Elves.

REVIEW: HARD RULES is the first installment in Lisa Renee Jones’s contemporary, adult DIRTY MONEY erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on thirty two year old attorney and billionaire Shane Brandon, and twenty seven year old PA Emily Stevens.

Told from dual first person points of view (Emily and Shane) HARD RULES looks at dysfunctional family dynamics; an ailing father who pits one son against the other; and the future of Brandon Enterprises on the brink of disaster. Shane Brandon is a man determined to make the family business legitimate but is facing a difficult task when his older brother Derek, along with his father, continue to surround themselves with corruption, secrets and lies. As the story line progresses Shane finds himself straddling the line between right and wrong when his family continues to push forward in a game Shane is no longer willing to play.

Emily Stevens is in hiding; her secret past is a mystery but our heroine has fallen hard for Shane Brandon-a man who wants something more than a one-night stand. When Brandon Enterprises begins to implode Shane pushes away the woman that he loves to protect our heroine from the repercussion coming their way. But Emily has her own dark and dangerous secrets; a mysterious past that is about to come crashing down.

HARD RULES is a story of romance, power, suspense, betrayal and lies. The Brandon family’s link to corruption runs deeper than Shane could ever have imagined and to even out the playing field, our hero devises a game plan of his own until the woman that he loves becomes part of the deceit and lies. Dark and dangerous secrets follow Emily Stevens-her past has been exposed-and Shane is a man no longer willing to trust the woman with whom he is falling in love.

The world building looks at one family’s history of secrets and lies; the power struggle at the top; the mystery and suspense of a potential corporate disaster, and the one man who is no longer willing to risk his career to protect those who have manipulated the path to power and control.

Lisa Renee Jones HARD RULES looks at big business, power, money and greed. The premise is intriguing and engaging; the characters are colorful, charismatic and intense; the romance is erotic and passionate, energetic and captivating. HARD RULES ends on a cliff hanger- you have been forewarned.

I do want to address the opening blurb that states ‘Wall Street meets the Sons of Anarchy’ because I am completely at a loss as to the connection to SOA and find it a little misleading at this point in time. There is currently no connection to any motorcycle club or affiliation thereof, but perhaps it is only with reference to the corruption, secrets and lies where the similarities begin and end, or more will be revealed in future installments.

Tailored for TroubleAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM / The Book Depository

Description:
SHE WANTS TO CHANGE THE WORLD.

Taylor Reed is no stranger to selfish, uncaring CEOs. She was fired by one, which is why she has created her own executive training program—helping heartless bosses become more human. So Taylor shocks even herself when she agrees to coach Bennett Wade, the cutthroat exec who got her unceremoniously canned. She’d love to slam the door in his annoying but very handsome face, but the customers aren’t exactly lining up at her door. Plus, this extreme makeover will give Taylor the golden opportunity to prove that her program works like a charm.

HE WANTS TO BUY IT.

Bennett Wade is many things—arrogant, smug, brusque—but trusting isn’t one of them. Women just seem to be after his billions. So when he hires Taylor Reed, he has no desire to change. Bennett is trying to win over the feminist owner of a company he desperately wants to buy, but something about the fiery Taylor thaws the ice around his heart, making Bennett feel things he never quite planned on. And if there’s one thing Bennett can’t stand, it’s when things don’t go according to plan.

They are a match tailor-made for trouble.

Review:

Tailored for Trouble by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is the 1st book in her Happy Pants frantic comedy series. This was a different type of romance that was like none that I have ever read previously.  It was humorous many times, but in the beginning I couldn’t stand the hero; since he was an arrogant bully; then I felt sorry for the heroine, who made me squirm at some of the things she did; this seemed to change constantly throughout the book.

We meet Taylor Reed, who while doing a presentation at work, she loses control of her temper when she listens to the sarcastic and nasty Bennett Wade brutally bring down her boss.  Taylor will lose her job from her outburst, which leads her to start her own training company that will teach CEO’s and upper management how to act and make the workplace a better environment.  Enter Bennett Wade once again, who wants to hire Taylor to help him, especially since he is working on a very important deal.

Taylor turns down the offer from the hated Bennett Wade, but he is relentless in trying to convince her.  Then Taylor devises her own plan to get revenge, by sabotaging the training she will offer him, and accepts the job.  As noted earlier, I did not like Bennett early on,  but I also thought Taylor was a bit crazy herself, especially with her wild and sexual comments.  Granted, she didn’t mean to say many of the things she did, but she was mesmerized by the sexy handsome Bennett, even if she hated him.   At times it was funny, but I also thought some of this was overdone.  What follows though is a slow build romance with two people totally different and opposites.  Bennett slowly becomes more likeable, as we get to know him and the things from his past that haunt him.   Even if he is controlling, Taylor finds herself falling in love with Bennett, and is willing to work on his issues to help him get past them.

Taylor did make a wonderful heroine, as she was funny, smart, and independent.  Bennett was someone you couldn’t like early on, but he turns into a good guy, as he changes when he recognizes that Taylor is the one person that was meant for him.  But there are things that will cause stumbling blocks to their relationship, which seemed to happen a lot. Tailored for Trouble was a good story, with a beginning that turned you off of the hero, and then gave us a nice romance.

With Love From the Inside  by Angela Pisel – a Review

With Love From the InsideAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM / The Book Depository

Description:
Grace Bradshaw knows the exact minute she will die. On death row for murdering her infant son, her last breath will be taken on February 15 at 12:01 a.m. Eleven years, five months, and twenty-seven days separate her from the last time she heard her precious daughter’s voice and the final moment she’d heard anyone call her Mom. Out of appeals, she can focus on only one thing—reconnecting with her daughter and making sure she knows the truth.
Secrets lurk behind Sophie Logan’s big house and even bigger bank account. Every day when she kisses her husband good-bye, she worries her fabricated life is about to come crumbling down. No one knows the unforgivable things her mother did to tear her family apart—not her husband, who is a prominent plastic surgeon, or her “synthetic” friends who live in her upscale neighborhood.
Grace’s looming execution date forces Sophie to revisit the traumatic events that haunted her childhood. When she returns to her hometown, she discovers new evidence about her baby brother William’s death seventeen years ago—proof that might set her mother free but shatter her marriage forever.
Sophie must quickly decide if her mother is the monster the prosecutor made her out to be or the loving mother she remembers—the one who painted her toenails glittery pink and plastered Post-it notes with inspiring quotes (“100 percent failure rate if you don’t try”) all over Sophie’s bathroom mirror—before their time runs out.

Review:

With Love From the Inside by Angela Pisel is a standalone emotional and at times heartbreaking story line.  Grace Bradshaw has been on death row for 17 years, having been convicted of killing her young son.  Grace writes notes to her daughter in a journal, telling her about her days in prison, things of the past, and how much she misses her.   Grace has not seen her daughter in over 11 years.  Her lawyer has been actively searching for the daughter, as well as trying to find evidence to help her.  With all appeals exhausted, time is of essence, as a political change pushes up the dates for those on death row, and Grace’s execution is coming fast.

Sophie Logan lives a good life, as the wife of a successful surgeon.  She is well known in the community, as she attends functions to support her husband, Thomas.  Sophie has kept a secret from her husband. Being ashamed of the truth, Sophie told him her mother was dead. When she receives a letter from an attorney, and hears an announcement about executions being moved up, and a female child killer is next; Sophie decides to visit the attorney.  She makes the decision to not get involved, since she feels the evidence against her mother is true, and she does not want to ruin her current life.

After fainting, Thomas tells her to get checked out, and in doing so, Sophie discovers she is pregnant.  While talking to the doctor about the fainting, she accidently learns about a condition that might be in her family.   What follows is an exciting heart wrenching story that will have Sophie desperately working with the lawyer to prove her mother’s innocence.  It is an emotional tale of truths being told between a couple that will stand together in love; of a mother and daughter reuniting to love and forgiveness; of a desperate attempt to save a life.

There are other stories within that have Grace being supportive of some of her female inmates; and of Sophie caring about a young motherless boy with medical problems.  The characters in the book were great, and very likeable.  I will not say too much more, as the last half of the book held my breath. It was a race to the finish that took an emotional toll on the reader.  I understand this is the debut novel for Angela Pisel, and it was very well written.  I look forward to more from this author.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 9, 2016

The Lawless siblings are bound by vengeance. Riley, Drew, Brandon, and Mia believe the CEO of StratCast orchestrated their parents’ murder twenty years ago to steal their father’s software program. And there’s only one way Riley can find some solid evidence…

Heir to the StratCast legacy, Ellie Stratton hires a new attorney to handle a delicate business matter—and she’s shocked by her attraction to him. Over the course of a few weeks, Riley becomes her lover, her friend, her everything. But when her life is threatened, Ellie discovers that Riley is more obsessed with settling an old score than in the love she thought they were building. And Riley must choose between a revenge he’s prepared for all his life and the woman he’s sure he can’t live without.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: RUTHLESS is the first installment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult LAWLESS erotic romantic, suspense series focusing on the Lawless siblings: Riley, Drew, Brandon and Mia. This is attorney Riley (Lang) Lawless, and heir to the StratCast company Ellie Stratton’s story line. There is a bit of a cross over/spinoff with Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series with the appearance and ongoing role for Mia and Case (Dominance Never Dies), and the McKay –Taggart Security Service.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Riley and Ellie) RUTHLESS follows the Lawless siblings as they set out on a path of revenge for the murder of their parents twenty years earlier, and their first target is the daughter of their father’s late partner Phillip Stratton-Ellie Stratton-a woman whose world is about to crumble and fall. Riley’s need to destroy Ellie Stratton comes to a screaming halt when our hero begins to fall for the daughter of the man that destroyed his life. Twenty years earlier Benedict Lawless and his wife were murdered in a house fire intended to kill the entire family-a murder for hire where greed and power were the precipitating factors. Fast forward to present day wherein the Lawless siblings seek vengeance against the people who stole everything from their life. What ensues is the building relationship between Ellie Stratton and Riley Lawless –the man she hired to assist in a business buyout- and the take down of one more person responsible for the death the Lawless parents.

The relationship between Riley and Ellie begins as a business deal wherein Riley is hired to facilitate a buyout between Ellie Stratton and Steven Castalano-another business partner targeted by the Lawless siblings. Riley is a man determined to get in, destroy, and get out but finds himself falling in love with his beautiful mark. Ellie not only has to deal with the betrayals of her father, her father’s current business partner, and people she once called friends, but she must also face the lies and deception of the man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are erotic, seductive and intense.

All of the Lawless siblings play secondary and supporting roles. We are introduced to Drew, Brandon, Mia and Mia’s husband Case, and one of Benedict’s former partners Bill ‘Hatch’ Hatchard-a man who all but raised the Lawless siblings. I suspect there is a story about Hatch, and his role in the entire family saga. There are a number of Ellie’s co-workers and employees, as well as Ellie’s PA Lily, and Steven’s son Kyle. Brandon’s story will be told next in Satisfaction.

The world building focuses on vengeance and justice, and the interesting family dynamics between the Lawless siblings each brought up through the Child Welfare System but only the youngest child Mia found a permanent family and some semblance of love.

RUTHLESS is an intriguing tale of retribution and retaliation. It is a story about greed and privilege, murder and survival, family and the future. The premise is entertaining and engaging; the characters are broken, colorful, animated and intense; the romance is provocative but will falter in the face of lies and more betrayal. Lexi Blake pens another wonderful start to a new and intriguing series.

Till I Kissed You by Laura Trentham – a Review

Till I Kissed You by Laura Trentham – a Review

Till I Kissed YouAmazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM

Description:
It’s summertime in Cottonbloom, where two lovers find themselves at a crossroads just as things start to heat up. . .

Regan Lovell grew up on the wealthy Mississippi side of Cottonbloom—and now, as mayor, she’s determined to save it from the fate of so many small towns. Part of her plan to help the local economy is the Labor Day tomato festival. If only she wasn’t being undermined by Sawyer Fournette, who’s planning a crayfish-themed celebration on the Louisiana side of the river on the very same weekend. The pranks and sabotage are getting out of hand, and she’s had it with him—no matter how much she enjoyed those stolen hours in his truck bed, so many years ago…

Sawyer knows that Regan’s never forgiven him for breaking her heart—but despite his reputation as a low-class swamp rat, he’d never hurt the woman who still secretly drives him crazy with desire. Someone in Cottonbloom has it out for her, though, and Sawyer intends to watch her back…and the rest of her too, if she can ever let go of her distrust. But will a common enemy be enough to unite them—and finally fulfill the promises they made one passionate night under the stars?

Review:

Till I Kissed You by Laura Trentham is the 3rd book in her wonderful sweet romance series, Cottonbloom.   This has been a fun series from the beginning, and we have been waiting impatiently for Regan and Sawyer’s story. In Till I Kissed You we get our wish.  Every book thus far has been fun, but this one is the best one so far.  I suspect this is a trilogy and it ends with this book….. 🙁   This book can be read as a standalone, but there is too much background information about all the main characters that I strongly suggest you read the first two books before you read this one.  And you should read this series.

A quick refresher:  Cottonbloom has two sides; the poorer Louisiana side and the wealthier Mississippi side. Sawyer lives on the Louisiana side and Regan lives on the Mississippi side.  Regan is the mayor of Mississippi’s Cottonbloom.  Sawyer is now working with his brother, Cade (1st book hero) in a new business.

We have known Sawyer Fournette and Regan Lovell from the start, and have been privileged to be part of watching the animosity and constant fighting between them.  When they were kids, they were in love, only to have family dynamics (they come from different sides), and misinformation break them up.  Each blamed the other, which led to their current hate relationship.

In the last book, Sawyer discovers that someone has been threatening Regan about the upcoming festival that they are competing on.  His true feelings for her may be hidden, but he makes it his business to watch over her.  At first Regan is suspicious why she is seeing Sawyer so much, but soon they begin to work together to try and find the culprit.  Slowly, the old love they had for each other rises again and their hate/mistrust relationship begins to change.  It was fun to watch them rediscover their feelings for each other; a love that was always still there.  It wasn’t easy, as there was always something or someone coming in between.

I loved Sawyer better in this book, as he was so sweet, sexy and caring for Regan.   She was the star of this story, as she was such a great heroine; strong, fun, smart, fearless and totally in love with Sawyer.  What follows is a sweet romance between an awesome couple, wonderful family and friends, and bit of mystery.  Till I Kissed You is a wonderful & fun second chance romance that was well written by Laura Trentham.

It’s also no secret that Moira has been rejecting Gideon since…forever. Now she wonders whether she’s been wrong about Gideon all along—and if it’s not too late to admit him back into her life…and into her bed…

But how much is he willing to risk for a woman who’s always kept him at bay…until now? And is it too late for Moira to tell him that her love for him has always been locked deep in her heart—and he holds the key?

•••••••••••••••

REVIEW: THE RIGHT KIND OF TROUBLE is the third and final? instalment in Shiloh Walker’s contemporary, adult THE McKAYS romantic, suspense series focusing on the McKay siblings of McKay’s Treasure. This is police chief Gideon Marshall, and Moira McKay’s story line. THE RIGHT KIND OF TROUBLE can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the books in order as there is a continuing story line running throughout the series.

Told from several third person points of view THE RIGHT KIND OF TROUBLE focuses on the search for the person(s) responsible for the ongoing attacks against the McKay family, and the rebuilding of the relationship between Gideon Marshall, McKay’s Treasure police chief, and Moira McKay-the woman he has loved for most of his life. Eighteen years earlier Moira pushed way the only man that she would ever love following the death of her parents when Moira began both mother and father to her younger siblings, and in the ensuing years Gideon has struggled with his love for a woman who is unable to let go of the past. The push and pull, back and forth between our leading couple is a battle of the heart and the mind. Gideon is unaware of the reasons for Moira’s continuous cold shoulder, and our hero is ready to move on with someone else. When Moira is attacked by an unknown assailant the search is on for the person(s) hoping to destroy the entire McKay family.

The relationship between Gideon and Moira is one of second chances. Moira’s acerbic personality does very little to endear this reader to her treatment of the man she claims to love. At every opportunity Moira’s bitterness and anger is directed at Gideon, and when our hero is willing to walk away leaving Moira to get on with her life, Moira’s jealousy begins to cast doubts on her true feelings for the man she continues to push away. Moira’s past is shrouded in heartbreak and pain, and she is having difficulty keeping her emotions in check. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive.

THE RIGHT KIND OF TROUBLE has a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including all of the previous story line couples; the local police department personnel, Moira’s ex husband, and a number of towns people questioned about the attacks against the McKay family. We are also introduced to dog breeder Zeke, a friend of police chief Gideon Marshall, and a man whose hatred for the McKay’s leads our heroine to start an investigation into her family history with long time residents of McKay’s Treasure.

The world building continues to look at the investigation into the attacks against the McKay siblings. For one hundred and fifty years, the McKay family has worked and owned most of the town, and in the ensuing years rumors have spread about a buried treasure that seems to attract the ‘crazies’ and everyone who believes they have been wronged by the McKays. Sometime the least likely suspect is someone very close.

THE RIGHT KIND OF TROUBLE is a fast paced story of mystery, suspense, romance and second chances. The premise is engaging and thrilling; the romance is passionate but challenging; the colourful characters are an eclectic mix of small town people, family and friendships. THE RIGHT KIND OF TROUBLE is a wonderful story about family; a fateful story about love; a passionate tale about how far some people will go when driven to desperation.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 3, 2016

Love is the greatest risk of all.
After seven days in a coma, Hannah Parker remembers nothing about the accident that landed her in the hospital–or how she ended up pregnant with Brannon’s baby, the man she’s loved since high school. Her body and heart have burned for him for years, and when she wakes up, he’s sleeping by her bedside, anxious to keep her safe at all costs. But as Hannah struggles with her amnesia, a threat looms closer–one that could have deadly consequences if she recovers her memories. She will have to trust Brannon completely if she is to keep what haunts her at bay…and their baby safe….

Brannon McKay spent the last ten years fantasizing about Hannah. In his mind, he’s explored every passionate scenario he can think of while, in real life, Brannon took their budding relationship and threw it away with both hands. Hannah doesn’t remember what happened but, now that she is awake, Brannon would rather die than watch her walk away again. When Hannah and his unborn child’s life is threatened, Brannon must stake claim to the woman who has held his heart captive for years…or risk disaster tearing them apart

•••••••••••••••

REVIEW: THE TROUBLE WITH TEMPTATION is the second installment in Shiloh Walker’s contemporary, adult THE McKAYS erotic, romance series focusing on the McKay siblings from the Mississippi town of McKays Treasure. This is winery owner Brannon McKay, and paramedic Hannah Parker’s story line. I recommend reading the series in order as the events in the current story line began in the previous installment and will continue in to book three. There is an ongoing premise of mystery and suspense with regard to the McKay family-someone is out to destroy the family-one member at a time.

Told from several third person points of view THE TROUBLE WITH TEMPTATION focuses on the rebuilding of a relationship between Brannon McKay and Hannah Parker. Following a devastating car accident that left Hannah in a coma and eventual amnesia, with no recollection of what happened or her past, Brannon begins to play doting boyfriend once he discovers that Hannah is pregnant with his child. What ensues are several threats against Hannah’s life by an unknown source; a series of deaths and murders all connected back to Hannah’s accident; and Hannah’s heartbreaking discovery that she and Brannon were never meant to be.

Hannah has been in love with Brannon since high school, but Brannon never saw Hannah as anything but a friend; his younger sister’s friend who grew into a woman he refused to allow into his life. One night of ‘angry’ passion finds our couple looking towards the future, and the unknown. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive.

THE TROUBLE WITH TEMPTATION has a very large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters, including one or two unknown entities and stalkers. The various third person perspectives reveal a developing mystery that affects the people of McKays Treasure and targets the McKay siblings, and in this, I once again, recommend reading the series in order or at the very least have an Excel spreadsheet handy to keep track of the characters and their connections to one another.

THE TROUBLE WITH TEMPTATION follows several intersecting plot lines and premises including murder, drugs, affairs and blackmail, that at times, diluted the story line in too many directions, although most have circled back with some sort of connection to recent events. We are witness to the slow return of Hannah’s memories-but a return that keeps Hannah at the center of an assailant’s attention. I have my thoughts about the guilty party but we have no idea if he has already been introduced or not.

Shiloh Walker pulls the reader into a story of mystery and suspense; friendship and family; revenge and betrayal. The premise is entertaining; the characters are colorful, animated and numerous; the romance is a slow climb to a happily ever after –for now.

A LOVE OF LEGENDARY PROPORTION

In another time, in a place once known as Camelot, they had been lovers. Torn apart by betrayal and lies, Lancelot Du Lac and Nimueh, the Lady of the Lake, had each suffered greatly. But the magic of the fae had reawakened a man once trapped in stone, and Lancelot was determined to find his long lost love. Only, Nim was desperate to hide her fae soul, as she was marked for death by their mutual enemy.

Though centuries apart had not diminished their passion, they would once again face a dangerous test to prove each was the other’s destiny.

Review:

So Sharon Ashwood is outright encouraging me to read my fill.  I’ve admitted to being less than stellar in my knowledge of Camelot, and its fine characters, but this incredible author delves into one of my favorite themes:  Pining after the one that got away!  This is current day Lancelot vying to recapture his true love, Nimueh, the Lady of the Lake.  Take that, Guinevere!  Enchanted Guardian was engrossing and romantic and I gulped it down as my last summer read.  The Camelot Reborn series will enchant, and I mean it.  Check out the trailer on her website!

He had been her protege, her lover and her champion before ambition had drawn him to Arthur’s side-and before the young queen, Guinevere, had stolen away his love.  Before he betrayed…

Love is stronger than pride and Nim is set to right her wrongs amidst the hurt, lots and lots of pain, suffered by Lancelot’s dismissal.  His decision, a veritable weight of betrayal that wipes away good memories.  Lancelot, however, endeavors to dissuade her course of cold and persuade Nim into granting him a second chance.  Not only is he charming and all things knightly, but their connection, one that transcends time, is enduring.  Nim’s resolve is futile when time and distance only stokes their attraction.  *sighs* To be pursued like this…my kind of fantasy!

When the Fae Queen, Morgan LaFaye, uber schemer and plotter of evil revenge, is closer to resurrect and usurp the power that was long ago ripped from her clan, can Nim and Lance set aside their complicated past, brimming with untold truths and lies of omission, to defeat the looming threat?  Collaborating involves trusting each others’ instincts and allies.  What if they’re mutually exclusive?  Nim is fae and when her kind have been targeted for extermination, by none other than mighty King Arthur and his famed knights, the concept of unity might derail any future for our H/H.

I’d still falter at Jeopardy if the subject was Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, but Sharon Ashwood’s Camelot Reborn series is fully ensconced in Carlyle, the once “insignificant tourist trap to the nexus of the battle between human and fae”, I’d hazard I could clear the board successfully.  😉  Ms. Ashwood maintains strength and impresses with Enchanted Guardian.  There are facts and history interspersed within the excitement, adventure and passion of a love story.  Even when HEA is upon them, it was magnificent to see Nim and Lancelot come to life individually.  That acceptance, however sacrificing, was empowering and essential.  I’m still shaking my head over LaFaye’s twists *coughs* corruption, but it’s all intricately woven, part and parcel, of a fantastic read.

I’m ready for my next lesson, Ms. Ashwood!
