ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date December 31, 2018

A team of Navy SEALs goes on a mission and disappears without a trace–they are the Lost Platoon.

With his men scattered to all corners of the globe after a disastrous secret op in Russia, Lieutenant Commander Scott Taylor is trying to find out who was responsible for leaking the information that killed half his platoon. Were it not for Natalie Andersson, the woman he had been secretly dating in the Pentagon who had warned him of the danger, he knows they would all be dead. Scott is devastated when he hears that the woman he loved and hoped to marry has been killed for helping him–until he learns that Natalie was the spy who betrayed them. But when his search to clear his name brings him face-to-face with a very-much-alive Natalie, Scott realizes that justice and vengeance might not be as clear-cut as he thought.

Natalie Andersson, or, as she was born, Natalya Petrova, has put the memories of her early childhood in Russia behind her. She never dreamed that she would be at the center of an elaborate “sleeper” espionage program. Even when she learns the truth, she refuses to spy for the country of her birth, until the Russians threaten the lives of the only family she has ever known. But Natalie is the worst spy in the history of spying, falling for her target. When her attempt at misdirection leads to irreversible consequences, she is forced to run for her life, with her lover hot on her tail.

REVIEW: OUT OF TIME is the third instalment in Monica McCarty’s contemporary, adult THE LOST PLATOON romantic, military suspense series focusing on SEAL Team Nine whose members are MIA or dead following an unsanctioned and undercover mission to Russia than went horribly wrong. This is thirty-three year old Lieutenant Commander Scott Taylor, and former executive assistant to the deputy secretary of defense, twenty-nine year old Natalie ‘Natalya Petrova’ Andersson’s story line. OUT OF TIME can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an on-going theme and premise throughout including the rekindling relationship and romance between former husband and wife duo Colt Wesson, Team Nine’s former chief, and CIA agent Katherine ‘Kate’ Wesson.

NOTE: If you have not read the previous instalments there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from several third person points of view including Natalie and Scott, and Colt and Kate, OUT OF TIME follows in the aftermath of SEAL Team Nine’s disastrous mission to Russia in which eight men didn’t make it out alive, and the survivors have found themselves in hiding around the world. Thirty-three year old Lieutenant Commander Scott Taylor struggles to get past the betrayal of his former love, a woman now deemed a Russian spy for her supposed role in the attack against Scott’s former Team but also a woman presumed dead in an accident meant to cover a trail of betrayal and spies. Determined to uncover the truth, Scott goes in search of a someone with connections to the past but discovers the woman he once loved is alive, with more secrets that are about to change the course of their lives. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and romance between Natalie and Scott, and the potential fall-out as a suspected mole has sent their sights on the remaining members of Team Nine.

The relationship between Scott and Natalie is one of second chances. Scott wants nothing more than to take down and crush the woman he once loved but once the truth is uncovered and revealed Scott must come to terms with what was, and what is about to be. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Meanwhile, former husband and wife duo Colt Wesson, Team Nine’s one-time chief, and CIA agent Katherine ‘Kate’ Wesson find themselves working together in an effort to bring home one of their own. Colt’s past treatment of his former wife is reprehensible and heart breaking in light of the revelation of secrets and truth, and as such Colt works tirelessly to win back the woman who’s heart he destroyed.

The world building continues to focus on the search for the truth. Secrets and lies are exposed; betrayal and treason come at a cost.

OUT OF TIME is a suspenseful and revealing story that follows several paths towards truth and retribution. The premise is heart breaking, engaging and real; the characters are animated and colorful as they struggle to make sense of it all; the romance is seductive. OUT OF TIME is a compelling and energetic read but I struggled with the quick resolution, and the lack of information regarding the guilty party’s demise.

Bound for Temptation by Tess LeSue – Review & Giveaway

Bound for Temptation by Tess LeSue – Review & Giveaway

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / iTunes / Google Play / BAM / Book Depository

Description:
Emma Palmer’s been a lady of the night and a gambler, a thief and a blackmailer, a liar and a peddler of sin. But mostly a lady of the night. She’s spent most of her life as the hard-as-nails, smart-talking ‘Seline’, working her way across the country to the goldfields of California, where she can finally ply her trade on her own terms. And she’s a darn good Madam, if she does say so herself. Her place is clean, her booze is cheap, and her bedrooms are fancy. But when a would-be patron won’t take no for an answer, she’s forced to fight for her life and run. And what better disguise than as a nun?

Tom Slater is a taciturn cattleman at the tail end of a long, hard season on the trail. He plans to have a quiet winter at his old family homestead in Mexico. What he doesn’t plan on is finding a foul-mouthed nun stranded in the middle of nowhere. She has sly green eyes and a way of looking at him that turns his head upside down. Tom doesn’t need to be trailsman to know that this woman will only lead to trouble.

Review:

Bound for Temptation by Tess LeSue is the 3rd book in her western historical romance Frontiers of the Heart series.  We met our heroine, Emma Palmer (Seline), in the previous book, as she was a madam in her own brothel, and knew both Luke & Matt Slater (previous book heroes).    When we meet Emma, she has sold her place, having saved enough money to travel to California and live a normal life.  But first she has to escape one of the rich locals, who is determined to make Seline his.

Tom Slater, the 3rd Slater brother, is trying to clear his name, as his brother gave his name as a cover for the  infamous ‘Deathrider’.   When Emma makes arrangements with the real ‘deathrider’  having met him earlier, and Tom is assigned to bring Emma, her two friends and young girl on the trek, which could be dangerous, since she is running away from a dangerous man.

When Tom meets Emma, the fun begins as the girls are dressed as nuns, to hide their appearance.  In a short time, Tom is beside himself, as he begins to find himself attracted to the Nun (Emma).  I really loved Emma, who is a strong, independent  and a fun heroine, whom you could not help but root for  her.  From the start, she found herself attracted to the hunky Tom, but knew she needed to play the part of a nun, which was hard for her, as she continued to act her rambunctious sassy way; this also confused Tom how she spoke her mind. Emma always had a plan to get out of certain situations, which was pretty hilarious.

The adventure was not only wild crazy, but a lot of humor along the way.   When they meet dangerous criminals during their travels, the situation becomes tense, and they must find away to escape  without revealing their true identities.   When Tom gets injured, things will change as Emma has to help fix his injuries, and it was fun to see Tom appalled; but this led to the truth….she was not a Nun.  Their relationship heated up, but not for long, as  Tom  discovers more truths about Emma’s past.

Tom was a good hero, but to me Emma was the star of this book.  I absolutely loved her.  I also loved how when she lost Tom, she planned to find a way to win him back, but had to travel where the Slater Brothers lived, which did not sit well with the other Slater wives.  Emma was a great cook and baker and used this to start her new life.  Would Tom ever return to his home?  Would he accept Emma’s past?  You will need to read this book to find out.

Bound forTemptation was a sweet fun historical western that was exciting adventure, romantic  and humorous.   I look forward to see what else Tess LeSue has in store for us.

Review:

The Blood Race by K.A. Emmons is the 1st book in her new The Blood Race series.

Ion was an outcast, he didn’t fit in, he always felt different, going from school to school, he’s always felt a freak, and after the latest incident at the new school, Ion was at his wits end !!!

Hawk isn’t interested in much, she keeps herself to herself. And when her “Sensei” wants her to take on Ion to “teach” him about what and who he is, she isn’t interested, but after persuasion from Sensei, Hawk takes up her task.

Ion is shocked and stunned when Hawk approaches him, at first he is wary, then scepticism and then disbelief, why wouldn’t he know if he had powers ? Then once Hawk shows him a different world, his fears double, he doesn’t believe her at first…..

This new world accepts his differences, but he can’t let go of his old life, trying to blend both is a difficult task, and one both Hawk and Ion don’t  think possible …..

We are then introduced to the villain of the story, and believe me, there is no redeeming qualities about this person !!!!

Wow !!!! What a great read. Something totally different from the usual paranormal read. Very well written, the descriptions of the world and characters just jump out of the page.

Can’t wait for book two ?oh thanks for the cliffhanger…… it  definitely makes you want to find out what happens next ?

Worlds Beneath
The Blood Race series – Book #2
by K.A. Emmons
Release Date: July 2018

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / iTunes / Google Play / BAM / Book Depository

Description:

I used to think that seeing was believing, but now, as I struggle to stay alive below the ravine, I begin to realize that – good or bad – I will see whatever I believe.

“Who are you, Icarus, that the earth opens its mouth to receive your blood?” Sensei’s words were my last thoughts before I fell into the bottomless ravine, plunging toward my own death, and bringing about Hawk’s at the same time. Or so I thought.

I woke up underwater. I awoke in a strange and unfamiliar world, filled with maze-like forest, shadows, and nightmares seemingly as vivid and dangerous as reality. I had no idea who I was, or how I got there – I couldn’t remember anything, until I remembered her: Hawk. The other half of my soul.

I knew that in order for her to stay alive, I had to survive and find a way out. But that’s easier said than done when you’re trapped in a realm as deadly as your every thought – and dominated by a hierarchy of ravenous wolf packs.

Alerted by a dream, I realize that Hawk has left the Dimension to come find me. For an instant, I rediscover hope. But that hope quickly burns to ash when I realize that we may not be the only ones down here. Someone else with a thirst for her blood may have survived the fall too. And I may have just lured her right into the jaws of a predator even fiercer than the wolves.

Review:

Worlds Beneath by K.A. Emmons is the 2nd book in her The Blood Race series.

Hawk and Icarus are separated by dimensions, but she isn’t willing to leave him there, their relationship might need work, but being the half of a person means something to Hawk, so she braces herself to find him. But in some parts I get the feeling she is still fighting how she feels.

The ongoing story of Ion/Icarus as he struggles to find his way in either world. Hawk’s (attraction to Ion/Icarus) and her disassociation with her friends and family (she is beginning to realise that you need at least someone in your life to lean on ? But with so many letting her down (especially Icarus)

You find out in book one why and how Ion becomes Icarus (no I can’t tell you) but it will make sense.

The worlds that the author has created is so well written that you can imagine the darkness of the forests that Icarus is trying to get out. The dreams, are they real ? They feel real, and when the dreams turn to nightmares……

And the unfolding story between Icarus and Hawk, is a slow and well thought out story, all their emotions are there to read on the page.

Sometimes it’s hard to write about a trilogy without giving too much away (especially if you haven’t read the first book) and you definitely need to read the first one.

Usually the second book is a let down in the trilogy, but not this one, it was just as good as the first book.

So many twists and turns, lives intertwining, people in love with other people, and hungry wolves that are constantly hunting for prey. Each chapter is dedicated to one character. It’s their point of view we see.

Can’t wait to read the final installment.

COWBOY WOLF TROUBLE (Seven Range Shifters #1) by Kait Ballenger-Review,Excerpt & Giveaway Tour

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / Chapters Indigo /Apple Google Play

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 1, 2019

Seven shifter clans call the Montana mountains home.

But a new evil will stop at nothing to tear their world apart.

For centuries, the shifters that roam Big Sky country have honored a pact to keep the peace. Even bad-boy rancher Wes Calhoun, former leader of a renegade pack, has given up his violent ways and sworn loyalty to the Grey Wolves. But his dark past keeps catching up with him…

Human rancher Naomi Evans cares only about saving the ranch that was her father’s legacy. Until a clash with Wes opens up a whole new world—a supernatural world on the verge of war—and Naomi, her ranch, and the sexy cowboy wolf stealing her heart are smack dab in the middle of it.

••••••••••

REVIEW: COWBOY WOLF TROUBLE is the first instalment in Kait Ballenger’s contemporary, adult SEVEN RANGE SHIFTERS erotic, romance series, a spin-off from the author’s EXECUTION UNDERGROUND series. This is wolf shifter and rancher Wes Calhoun, and human rancher / biologist Naomi Evans’ story line. You do not have to have read the previous series to understand or follow the current release.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Naomi and Wes) COWBOY WOLF TROUBLE follows the building but forbidden relationship between wolf shifter and rancher Wes Calhoun, and human rancher Naomi Evans. Naomi Evans is at war with an unknown force when she suspects a pack of wolves is laying waste to her flock of sheep. A trap set to catch the thief netted Naomi the surprise of her life when she pointed her gun at a naked male. Once shifted, Wes Calhoun was caught between head and heart when his pack leader decided Naomi knew too much to remain alive. What ensues is the building but forbidden romance between Naomi and Wes, and the potential fall-out as Wes’s reputation as a killer comes into question when Naomi becomes the unknown entity in a potential, supernatural war.

Wes Calhoun knows betrayal and loss. Once the packmaster for the Wild Eight’s, a rogue pack of shifting wolves, Wes sought out solitude, and forfeited his leadership when he swore loyalty to the local Seven Range Pack. Unable to forgive himself for sins of the past, Wes’ history would continue to follow in the wake of threats against the woman he loved. Bad boy to the bone, Wes must battle to prove there is more to Naomi’s story than meets the eye. Naomi Evans’ family owned ranch is struggling to survive but an offer to buy her property becomes fodder for a potential war when Naomi’s appearance in Wes’ life, is questioned by the people in control. Strong-willed, feisty and driven, Naomi is willing to risk her life to save the man with whom she is falling in love. Unfortunately, Wes’ troubled history, continues to mar any semblance of peace and retribution for our leading hero.

The relationship between Naomi and Wes is a forbidden romance. The Grey Wolves are forbidden to enter into sexual relationships with humankind, preferring to keep their supernatural species pure and untainted but Wes suspects Naomi is his mate, and struggles to stay one step ahead of the people trying to destroy their growing love. A lack of trust complicated by lies and deceit, and the pull of the man in control force Wes to push Naomi out of his life. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including packmaster Maverick Grey , medic Austin, High Commander of the Grey Wolf armies Colt Cavanaugh, IT specialist Blaze, and shifter Malcolm. The requisite evil has many faces.

The world building follows the potential for war as the Wild Eights target Wes Calhoun and the Grey Wolf pack. The Wild Eights have drawn the proverbial line in the sand, and have merged with a more powerful species in their attempts to takedown their once mighty leader.

COWBOY WOLF TROUBLE is a story of secrets and lies; betrayal and deceit; family, forgiveness and love. The premise is engaging, dramatic and startling; the characters are impassioned and strong; the romance is heart breaking and intimate. COWBOY WOLF TROUBLE is a strong start to the Seven Range Shifters series.

“You slaughtered my livestock.” Her voice was feminine, but deep in a way that stirred low in Wes’ belly. To his ears, the noise sounded incredibly human and unintimidating, yet it raised his hackles. For a woman whose life he’d spared, then saved from the hands of the Wild Eight soon to be prowling her lands, her thanks had been shooting at him and now blaming him for petty ranch theft.
“I didn’t kill your livestock.” Slowly, he pushed into a plank position above her before he stood. He’d take his chance with her running again if it meant escaping the hazy fog her scent flooded over his brain.
She scrambled to her feet with some complication considering her hands remained bound. Her full lips pulled into a scowl. “Evidence says otherwise. After all, you were the one in the trap not far from the sheep’s pen. Not to mention, I smelled it on you just now.”
“Trust me, sweetheart, if I wanted a mutton steak, I’d take a chomp out of my pack’s flock.” He didn’t know which bristled him more, the accusation that he’d murdered her flock or the fact that she implied he smelled like the inside of a barn. Which he likely did at the moment, considering he’d spent the morning herding a couple hundred of the Grey Wolf calves into the barn so they could begin preparing to take them to market soon, but that was beside the point. “If it’s the blood you’re referring to, that’s the blood of my enemies. Not your precious lambs.”
She struggled with the bindings at her wrists, attempting to remove them to no luck. “I won’t take your word for it.”
“You’re a feisty one, huh?” He shook his head. What the hell had he gotten himself into? She was a pistol, and he liked irritating her. Every time those gorgeous brown eyes blazed in challenge his head filled with naughty thoughts. He’d always had far too much appreciation for feisty women.
“If you wanted cooperation, maybe you shouldn’t have abducted me from my pasture.”
“You had a gun to my head,” he said.
“You ate Lambie,” she countered.
When the frustration on his face made it clear, he had no clue what she was blabbering on about, she sighed. “My sheep,” she elaborated. “A wolf has been killing them. My guess is that’s why I caught you in the trap my idiot brother set.”
“You name your livestock?” His gaze swept over her. From her faded jeans, cowgirl boots, and the worn overlaid suede jacket, she looked as if she knew her way around the ranchlands. Ebony hair, dark skin, and sharp sculpted cheeks, said she was Native American. Thanks to the language she’d muttered earlier and considering their proximity to the reservation, he guessed Crow Tribe. Crow Agency was only a few hours drive from here.
“Just one: the sheep that you slaughtered two weeks ago. His name was Lambie, and he was a sweet, gentle yew. My father gave him to me when I was ten. The only thing worse would’ve been if you killed our family ranch dog, Blue. You’re lucky he’s with my brother right now or he would have taken a good chunk out of one of your back legs.”
Wes stared open-mouthed at the woman before him. He wasn’t even sure where to begin. Who did she think she was, Little Bo Peep? Call him ignorant, but as far as he knew, no rancher in their right mind named their flock like they were house pets.
When he’d been stuck in her trap and she’d stared down at him in wolf form, apologizing for holding her gun on him, he’d imagined the Wild Eight wolves turning around in search of him, but instead finding her and something inside him had snapped. In that moment, he’d been back there again. The memory shook him and he’d imagined himself in that godforsaken bedroom, blood dripping from him and an innocent woman…
He closed his eyes, and released a long exhale. He hadn’t been able to bear the thought.
So he’d shifted in front of her. Pack law be damned. He’d done it both because he had no other way to escape the trap he’d been locked in—not without opposable thumbs—and also to warn her. The Wild Eight were bound to circle back looking for him, and with their blood pulsing from the night’s battles, if she managed to get in their way, an innocent human female like her would serve as nothing more than a bloody diversion to them. He knew they weren’t safe. Not even now that they were hidden in the forests of the Grey Wolves territory again.
She was a stranger to him, but he wouldn’t allow those monsters to kill another innocent. Though he should have taken her life as pack law dictated when she’d laid passed out in front of him, he couldn’t bring himself to kill an innocent. Not again.

DALTON
(Savage Kings MC #6)
by Lane Hart & DB West
Genre: Adult, contemporary, erotic, MC, romance

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 8, 2019

ATF Agent Bradley never suspected that the pretty, charismatic bastard was actually an unrepentant thief, born to be an outlaw.

•••••••

REVIEW: DALTON is the sixth instalment in the contemporary, adult SAVAGE KINGS MC erotic, MC, romance story line focusing on the men and women of the Savage Kings MC, co-authored by Lane Hart and DB West . This is Savage Kings MC treasurer Dalton Brady, and ATF agent Peyton Bradley’s story line.

NOTE: DALTON can be found in the multi-authored WANTED: AN OUTLAW ANTHOLOGY.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Dalton and Peyton) DALTON follows ATF Agent Peyton Bradley as she is tasked with uncovering the truth behind a number of gang related murders tied to the New Bern Savage Kings, MC. An almost one-night stand with a local attorney finds our heroine grovelling when her all-important laptop is stolen by her sexy and beautiful online Tinder connection. Enter Savage Kings MC treasurer Dalton Brady, and the man who tugs at our heroine’s heart. What ensues is the secret relationship between Dalton and Peyton, and the potential fall-out as Peyton’s investigation draws to a close, and the Savage Kings MC have no idea if charges are forthcoming.

Peyton Bradley has been assigned the unenviable task of uncovering the who, what and why of a series of murders, including the death of cartel drug kingpin Hector Cruz, indirectly related to the Savage Kings MC. What Peyton never expected was to fall for the beautifully handsome Savage Kings treasurer, a man who is all kinds of wrong, with or without her connection to the current investigation. Dalton Bradley doesn’t do relationships, especially a relationship with the ATF but his heart wants the woman who could inevitably destroy his entire life, and the lives of the people he loves.

The relationship between Dalton and Peyton begins as a lie; a Tinder hook-up wherein Dalton, pretending to be someone else, goes for more than a one-night stand, but a possible take down of the ATF agent. Peyton knows that to get involved with Dalton could spell the end of her career; and Dalton is warned that Peyton could be the death of them all. The $ex scenes are erotic, seductive and intense; the sexual attraction is palpable and hot.

The secondary characters are limited. We are re-introduced to the Savage Kings President Torin Fury, Club VP and Torin’s brother Chase Fury ,former military tech genius Reece ; Peyton’s friend Quincey; and Dalton’s ailing father Rubin Brady.

The world building continues to look at the fallout of the Savage King MC’s war with the Aces MC, and Cartel drug kingpin Hector Cruz. Although Hector is no longer a threat, the threat comes from the law.

DALTON is an engaging and spirited story line. The premise is moving; the romance is provocative; the characters are animated and colorful. DALTON is a spicy and passionate addition to the Savage Kings MC series.

ABOUT THE BOOK : Release Date January 4, 2019

Who the hell is Deacon Fury?

That’s the question I asked myself when I was fifteen and saw his name on my birth certificate for the first time.

Deacon Fury may be long gone from this world, but at least he left behind a legacy – the Savage Kings MC.

Deep down, I knew that I was destined to become a King too. That’s what brought me to Emerald Isle four years ago.

And after putting in the hard work, I’m a breath away from patching in, becoming a brother.

That is, until she took my breath away.

One of my final orders as a prospect was to find Audrey O’Neil and keep her safe during the hurricane that devastated the coast.

War is not only my sponsor, he’s been like a father to me since I first came to town. Now, I’m falling for his sister, and if War finds out, he’ll kill me.

But how am I supposed to choose between following in my father’s footsteps with the MC or being with the one woman who makes me feel like I’m already a Savage King?

This is the fifth book in the Savage Kings MC series, but it can be read as a standalone.

REVIEW: MADDOX is the fifth instalment in Lane Hart and DB West’s contemporary, adult SAVAGE KINGS MC erotic, romance series focusing on the members of the Savage Kings MC. This is Savage Kings MC prospect Maddox ‘Mad Dog’ Holmes (aka Fury), and college student Audrey O’Neil’s story line. MADDOX can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.

NOTE: MADDOX contains scenes of torture that may not be suitable for some readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Maddox and Audrey) MADDOX follows the building but forbidden relationship between twenty-one year old Savage Kings MC prospect Maddox ‘Mad Dog’ Holmes (aka Maddox Fury), and college student Audrey O’Neil. When a hurricane descends upon Wilmington, North Carolina, Savage Kings MC Man- at –Arms Warren ‘War’ O’Neil calls upon prospect Maddox Holmes to rescue his sister Audrey from potential danger, a woman who doesn’t want rescuing and refuses to leave her college apartment. What ensues is the quick building sexual relationship between Maddox and Audrey as Audrey stubbornly denies the truth about her identity, and the potential fall-out as Audrey’s past history with men pushes Maddox to run, and the threat of death from our heroine’s brother.

Audrey O’Neil uses $ex to get what she wants but her history with men will threaten what little semblance of control she has over her life. Blackmail and intimidation from the men in charge reinforces the hidden danger for a woman trying to survive in a world controlled by men. Six years earlier, a then fifteen year old Maddox Holmes discovered he was the bastard son of the late Deacon Fury- the founder and former president of the Savage Kings MC. A stint in military school, and his on-going hatred towards his mother for her secrets and lies, finds Maddox searching for the people and life his father once loved.

The relationship between Maddox and Audrey begins acrimoniously. Maddox is assigned to look after our heroine but Audrey refuses to confess her identity demanding $ex and companionship before revealing the truth. Caught between duty and lust, Maddox takes advantage of what Audrey offers but in doing so places them both in a compromising situation. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive.

The secondary and supporting characters include several members of the Savage Kings MC including president Torin Fury, VP Chase Fury, Man at Arms Warren O’Neill and his significant other Nova, computer hacker and IT specialist Reese, as well as a number of potential prospects.

MADDOX is an animated, spicy and spirited storyline. The premise is startling; the romance is energetic; the characters are colorful, sassy and sensitive. MADDOX is a story of family, friendship, courage and love.

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / iTunes / Google Play / BAM / Book Depository

Description:
He’s sexy as sin and hotter than hell and—oh wait.

What would you do to save a loved one’s life? Make a pact with the Devil?

In Diana Kingston’s defense, it was the middle of the night in the deserted hospital chapel… surely it was just a dream. She hadn’t really sold herself to a brooding stranger to save her father’s life, right? Then she wakes and her father is fully recovered and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome—um, Devil? Yep, it was right there on the contract, Lucien Star, aka Lucifer Morningstar, that had been his name in the dream… Gulp. What would the Devil himself want with her? Sex. Three months of hot, sweaty, Friday night sex.

Ooookay. Breaking a pact with the Devil doesn’t seem like a smart move. So she’ll do it—but she won’t like it. Not much anyway. But she starts liking it – a lot—and every night they spend together, she likes it and Lucien a little more. Being with him allows her naughty side to come out and play, but Diana starts to see more than just a sexy-as-sin, rock-hard … er…Anyway, he might be Satan, but even he was an angel once. Kind. Noble. And she sees glimpses of that man still inside him… But how in Heaven’s name do you save the Devil from himself?

Review:

Midnight with the Devil by Emma Castle is her debut novel, and  I have to say it was an awesome start.

Diana Kingston, our heroine, is at the hospital, watching her father slowly dying.  She prays for a way to save him, and out of the blue, Diana is offered a chance to make a deal to save her father’s life.  But the person who is offering the deal is the devil himself, Lucifer Morningstar, and all he wants is her is to give herself to him to do whatever he wants for three months; every Friday night at midnight.  All Satan wants is Diana’s pure soul to keep the gates of hell closed & eventually turn her dark.   With a contract in hand, despite her misgivings and disbelief, Diana accepts the contract, to save her father.

We all know the story of Lucifer and how he became a fallen angel and bad boy in charge of Hell.  Lucien Star (Lucifer Morningstar) is the name he uses now, since is tired of living in hell, and lives on earth among humanity, in his penthouse and night club. It did have a short similar ring to the tv show Lucifer.  Diana at first is nervous when she arrives at Lucien’s penthouse, and in a short time she cannot resist him.

What follows is an unlikely romance with Diana in time falling for the forbidden Lucien, and he feels himself starting to have feelings for her, which has never happened to him before.   This was a hot sexy as hell romance that caught me by surprise.   I expected this to be a dark romance, but it was anything but that.  Lucien was handsome, sexy, demanding, but he treated Diana with what would turn out to be love.  I absolutely loved them together, despite knowing somehow it had to come to an end.

Midnight with the Devil was a wonderful fun steamy romance, written so very well by Emma Castle.  She made us fall in love with both Lucien and Diana, who were truly an unlikely pair, and made this work so well.  It was amazing to see how both of them began to change in a short time; those sex scenes were as I said…hotter than HELL.  I really enjoyed all the secondary characters, and the ending of this story was so fantastic, it left me feeling very emotional.  Bravo to Emma Castle for this sexy, beautiful, wonderful, satisfying and unexpected romance.  I suggest to jump on the bandwagon and start reading Emma Castle now.

REVIEW: DECKER is the second instalment in Eden Summers’ contemporary, adult, erotic romantic, suspense series. This is Sebastian Decker, and Keira Torian’s story line. DECKER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sebastian and Keira) DECKER follows the acrimonious relationship between Sebastian Decker, and Keira Torian. Sebastian Decker is all about the protection of his boss’ sister Keira Torian but as a member of one of the most dangerous crime families, Keira’s innocence is often questioned. When a recent drive by threatens Keira and everyone she loves, Decker becomes personal body guard and lover to a woman who whose issues of trust place Decker in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the building but tempestuous relationship between Decker and Keira, and the potential fall-out as secrets, lies, betrayal and blood may be too deep and painful to overcome.

DECKER is a story of suspense as our leading couple are forced to run. Targeted for who they are, and what they know, Decker will discover that trust comes at a cost, a trust that is broken, perhaps beyond repair.

The relationship between Decker and Keira is one of immediate attraction but an attraction that has been simmering for several months. As the daughter, and sister of the heads of the crime family Keira knows more than she is willing to reveal but her issues of trust place she and Decker in a precarious position of power and control. The $ex scenes are erotic, passionate and intense but once again I struggle with the use of a certain four-letter word, used only once more for shock value than anything else, but a word I find unnecessary in a romance story line.

We are reintroduced to Hunter and Sarah (Hunter #1), as well as Keira’s brother Cole Tarian. Cole’s story line is next.

The world building follows the dark and dangerous relationship between Decker and Keira, a relationship built upon secrets, lies and deceit; a relationship where trust is fleeting, betrayal is imminent, and heart break is real.

DECKER is a dramatic and tense story of family, blood, honor and pain. The premise is intriguing and suspenseful; the romance is spicy, electric and startling; the characters are broken, angry, powerful and rebellious. DECKER is a captivating and visceral story line of power, retribution, and control. DECKER ends on a cliff-hanger, you have been warned.

Eden Summers is a bestselling author of contemporary romance with a side of sizzle and sarcasm.

She lives in Australia with a young family who are well aware she’s circling the drain of insanity. Eden can’t resist alpha dominance, dark features and sarcasm in her fictional heroes and loves a strong heroine who knows when to bite her tongue but also serves retribution with a feminine smile on her face
