REVIEW: BAYSIDE ROMANCE is the fifth instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult BAYSIDE SUMMERS erotic romance series focusing on a tight knit group of friends in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. This is interior designer Gavin Wheeler, and screenwriter Harper Garner’s story line. BAYSIDE ROMANCE, and subsequently BAYSIDE SUMMERS is another one of Melissa Foster’s spin off series from both the Love in Bloom and Seaside Summers series but can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Several characters and couples cross over for cohesion and familiarity.Gavin Wheeler was first introduced in book three-Bayside Heat.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Gavin and Harper) BAYSIDE ROMANCE is a second chance story line focusing on interior designer Gavin Wheeler, and screenwriter Harper Garner. Approximately one year earlier, Gavin and Harper met on at an outdoor concert, and spent one glorious night together only to have Harper ghost him the next morning. Harper was heading to LA as a screenwriter, and Gavin was about to start his own business with his best friend Serena. Fast forward to present day wherein Harper’s life in LA has come to an end, and she returns to Wellfleet, Massachusetts with her tail tucked between her legs. Enter Gavin Wheeler, the man Harper hasn’t stopped thinking about but a man she believes threw away their night together. What ensues is the quick rebuilding relationship and romance between Gavin and Harper, and the potential fall-out as Gavin’s past comes back to haunt him and the woman he loves.

Gavin Wheeler doesn’t do relationships since the fall-out of his college affair left him shattered and destroyed. Having walked away from family and friends, Gavin’s life spiralled out of control until he convinced himself that life if better without the demons on his back. Harper Garner has always dreamed of making it big as a writer, and Hollywood was the perfect place to showcase her talent but things did not go according to plan, and Harper found herself without a job, heading home with no future in sight.

The relationship between Harper and Gavin is a second chance romance; a rekindling relationship where neither one forgot about the other but miscommunication led them to believe that neither one cared. A whirlwind romance ensues as Gavin and Harper make up for lost time. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, entertaining and captivating secondary characters, many of whom we have met in previous story lines and series. We are introduced to Gavin’s brother Beckett, as well as the introduction of Tegan Fine, and Jack ‘Jock’ Steele. Tegan’s story line is next in Bayside Fantasies.

BAYSIDE ROMANCE is a story of family, friendships, forgiveness and love. The premise is entertaining, engaging and heart warming- the conflict is limited; the romance is seductive; the characters are flirty and fun. BAYSIDE ROMANCE is a wonderful addition to Melissa Foster’s BAYSIDE SUMMERS.

As the co-owner of Bayside Resorts, Rick Savage has a fabulous job working with his best friends and brother, and a thriving business in Washington, DC, which he’ll be returning to at the end of the summer. Spending time with his family is great, but being back on Cape Cod has unearthed painful memories. When sweet, smart, and overly cautious Desiree Cleary moves in next door, Rick is drawn to the sexy preschool teacher, and she just might prove to be the perfect distraction.
