ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 12, 2019

Zara Pierce has had a crush on Corey Jensen for years, but she’s never acted on it. When she sees him at their high school reunion, she decides to throw caution to the wind and finally make a move. The steamy encounter that follows makes one thing perfectly clear: she wants more of Corey.

Colton Jensen may have an identical twin, but he’s his own man. A self-proclaimed bachelor for life, Colt is set in what he wants and knows exactly who he is. Too bad Zara doesn’t. By the time Colton realizes his night with Zara was a case of mistaken identity, it’s too late to take back what’s happened between them. When a series of events drives him closer to her and stirs unexpected feelings, he must finally reveal the truth.

Can Colton and Zara find happiness amid a forest of lies? Or were they lost from the start?

*****
Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

•••••••••

REVIEW: Misadventures with a Twin begins with Colton and Corey Jensen attending their 10th high school reunion. Once there, Colton wanders over to the bar for a drink. He notices a beautiful woman sitting there, and she starts up a conversation. He finally admits that he doesn’t remember her and she jogs his memory and also tells him that she would know him from his twin brother anywhere. Zara begins to come on strong and Colton finds himself in Zara’s hotel room quickly thereafter. Once things start heating up, the unthinkable happens. Zara calls out his name…only his name is not Corey.

Colton removes himself from her room as soon as he can and can’t believe that what happened did indeed happen. However, when Zara contacts him again, he decides he’s going to tell her the truth. When he arrives, he finds that she doesn’t want to talk, so who is he to deny her. As they start to see each other more and more, he finds out that his dad is selling their family restaurant to Zara, which prompts his brother to tell him not to tell Zara who he really is. He’s afraid it may jeopardize the sale, but Colton finds himself torn. He’s starting to have real feelings for Zara and knows things aren’t going to end well when he finally fesses up.

Misadventures with a Twin is a fun and fast read. The characters are engaging and well developed. Even though the story is pretty far-fetched, it really does draw you in at the very beginning. Colton and Zara’s chemistry leaps off the page from their very first encounter until their last. Colton was a “love ‘em and leave ‘em” kind of guy in school, but the reasons revealed at the end will leave you with tears in your eyes and a lump in your throat. I really did love the two of them together, and the secondary characters were funny and engaging as well. If you’re a romance fan and like a fast read with scorching chemistry and a very touching ending, you’ll not go wrong with this one. Well done, Elizabeth Hayley! Very well done!

BAD WITCH
(Wicked Academy #1)
by Lane Hart
Genre: new adult to adult, contemporary, erotic, reverse harem, paranormal romance

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk / Amazon.au /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 20, 2019

Once upon a time, Harper Rhodes was just a normal, boring, college freshman.

Or so she thought.

That was all before she was kidnapped by a scheming vampire and thrown into the secret world of supernatural beings at the Wicked Academy.

The coven masters who run the academy insist that Harper is a witch, possibly the last one in the world, and that the fate of their kind is in her hands. It all sounds ridiculous to her, but either way, they refuse to let her leave.

While being wooed by warlocks and stalked by Drake, an unapologetic vampire, Harper begins to fall for Rowan, a gruff shapeshifter who is the only good thing about her new life, even though he’s completely off-limits.

When the masters eventually get tired of waiting on Harper to choose a warlock mate, they decide to take matters into their own hands.

Knowing that none of her admirers will be able to reach her in time, Harper will have to figure out how to finally embrace magic and wield her new powers to save herself.

And if there’s one thing she’s actually learned at the Wicked Academy, it’s that sometimes being bad can feel really good.

••••••••

REVIEW: BAD WITCH is the first instalment in Lane Hart’s contemporary, new adult WICKED ACADEMY erotic, paranormal romance focusing on the members of an elite institute for the paranormal known as Wicked Academy. This is eighteen year old, witch Harper , warlock Kingston, vampire Drake, and tiger shifter Rowan’s story line.

NOTE: BAD WITCH is a reverse harem story line with same sex and multiple partner sexual situations.

Told from four first person points of view (Harper, Kingston, Drake, Rowan) BAD WITCH follows naïve and innocent, eighteen year old college freshman Harper Rhodes as she finds herself a prisoner of the elite Wicked Academy for the paranormal. Having no idea as to her heritage, Harper easily accepts that she is something more. Believed to be the only female witch in existence Harper soon discovers that the ‘masters’ in charge of the Academy, including Kingston’s father Voss, have plans to mate Harper with another powerful warlock. But things don’t go according to plan as Harper finds herself attracted to more than one supernatural being including a warlock who may or may not be attracted to men. What ensues is a shift in the power dynamic at the Wicked Academy, as Harper slowly comes into her powers; and the highly erotic relationship between Harlow, Kingston, Drake and Rowan quickly becomes a permanent arrangement.

BAD WITCH is a story of erotica; of one young woman’s venture into the world of the supernatural, and the power and control of several species by the people in charge. The premise is entertaining; the romance is erotic and spicy; the characters are energetic and sassy.

(Wicked Academy #2)
by Lane Hart
Genre: new adult to adult, contemporary, erotic, reverse harem, paranormal romance

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / Amazon.uk / Amazon.au /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 16, 2019

Welcome back to Wicked Academy where magic is always in the air.

Newly turned, brooding vampire Cash doesn’t have anything in common with Zaine, his young warlock roommate at Wicked Academy. At least he didn’t until they both find themselves trying to win over the same mesmerizing woman.

Men have always been drawn to Nadia, the odd girl with crimson hair and lavender-colored eyes. And finally, after thirty years, she’s about to find out why.

The unrelenting magnetic pull Cash and Zaine both feel toward Nadia isn’t just a coincidence. She seems to have the same effect on every guy she ever touches. The problem is that just one night in bed with her could cost a human or warlock male their life unless she figures out how to stop draining the life force out of them.

When someone comes after Nadia, it’ll take all of her lovers to keep her safe. But the people who want her are desperate for her unparalleled powers. They won’t stop until she’s fighting for them.

••••••••

REVIEW:BAD OMEN is the second instalment in LA Hart’s (aka Lane Hart) contemporary, adult WICKED ACADEMY paranormal, erotic, reverse harem romance series focusing on the members of an elite institute for the paranormal known as Wicked Academy. This is Nadia, Cash (vampire), and Zaine’s (warlock) storyline with the addition of, Evander (psychic) and Trent’s (shifter).

NOTE: BAD OMEN is a reverse harem romance with multiple partners and multiple sexual scenarios.

Told from five first person perspectives (Nadia, Cash, Zaine, Trent and Evander) BAD OMEN follows in the wake of a grocery store armed robbery wherein Cash saves the life of Nadia, and in the ensuing days discovers that his attraction to Nadia is equally matched by his roommate’s attraction to the girl in question. When several attempts are made on Nadia’s life, Zaine and Cash work out a schedule to protect the woman that calls to their hearts. But all is not well in Nadia’s less than well-ordered life, and our heroine is surprised to discover she is much more than the human female she had always professed herself to be. What ensues is the building relationship between Nadia, Cash and Zaine, with the addition of Trent and Evander into their reverse harem relationship, and the potential fall-out as several supernaturals have targeted our heroine for her hidden powers.

Nadia’s insatiable appetite for $ex is matched by the men with whom she is intimately involved but Nadia’s need is out of her control, and it will take a psychic to expose the supernatural element that directs all of Nadia’s wants and desires.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Trent (shifter), Evander (psychic), as well as Harper, Kingston, Drake and Rowan (Bad Witch #1), and Kingston’s father Voss. The requisite evil has many faces.

BAD OMEN is a quick read; a highly erotic, sexually graphic story of one woman’s baser needs, and the men who are willing to ‘sacrifice’ themselves for the greater cause. The premise is interesting; the characters are numerous and colorful; the romance is limited as their needs are controlled by a powerful pull.

Reforming the CEO by Marisa Cleveland – a Review

Reforming the CEO by Marisa Cleveland – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple

Description:
What happens when your next door neighbor is the hottest, most notorious playboy in all of South Beach?

Reece Rowe is on hiatus from respectability. Before she returns to her stable, boring existence of charity events and dating predictable, stuffy suitors who are only interested in getting closer to the wealthy family who adopted her, she’s going to get a taste of what she’s been missing. She screws up her courage and heads to Vincent Ferguson’s office to find out what all the women in South Beach already seem to know about him.

Once CEO Vin Ferguson’s tech company goes public, he’ll have proved he’s no longer the poor, gritty kid from the wrong side of the tracks. But, citing his bad boy reputation, some financial backers waver, and his friends suggest dating a more respectable woman to improve his image. Ridiculous. Because delectable but snooty socialites, like his next door neighbor, are way out of his league.

And then, Reese walks through his office door and makes him an offer. To say his jaw hits the floor is an understatement.

And he can’t believe what she just proposed…

Review:

A summer of secrets between two consenting adults is the background for Reforming the CEO by Marisa Cleveland. Vin Ferguson ventures beyond “models and mayhem” to gain proper attention only the arm of socialite extraordinaire, Reece Rowe can secure. Her part of the negotiation garners sexual fantasies without any fallout. Quid pro quo. Easy enough…said no one ever, 😀

“He’d give her what she wanted, and he’d give his board what they wanted, but that would be all. One summer, and everything he ever worked for would finally come into fruition.”

Vin didn’t give Reece enough credit for ambition. She wanted to shatter the glass ceiling of her adoptive family’s expectations and dating a bad boy was just the catalyst. I thought Vin was going to be indifferent to her presence, sex with no strings-focused, but he was in fact captivated by her; no way was he going to be aloof about her position in his life. Before long, Vin recognizes Reece’s steady influence, an attraction more meaningful than superficial, and shared sensibilities creates a solid relationship. Wait…no breaking the rules!

Aside from cat and mouse antics, family dynamics underlie the impetus for Reece’s character departure, her need to behave according to the Rowe model. Strangely enough, Vin isn’t bogged down by skeletons in his closet. He’s abiding by the agreement, promoting his corporation, while making good on Reece’s list of sexual exploits.

As there wasn’t a lot of subterfuge, both Vin and Reece benefitted from the “summer of secrets”, broken hearts aren’t a consequence, right? Because love is just that easy, right? Simultaneous proposition, jimultaneous droposition — love always finds a way! Will Vin and Reece be as adult about a relationship as they were a fling? Are either of them ready to commit, considering the career headway they’ve launched as a result of the affair?

Reforming the CEO wasn’t heavy in tone or subject matter – it was downright refreshing to read such an approach! Marisa Cleveland touched on several themes and delivered them well. I enjoyed this book and would love to explore a secondary character’s journey. I’ll be here for book #2!

REVIEW: Drumroll please!!

Jeana E. Mann does it again with her ROYAL SECRETS series. I loved the Royal Engagement series so much; it was witty and dark and oh so sexy. I had very high hopes for this series, and she sure didn’t disappoint.

This is the first in that new series, and I could not WAIT to sink my teeth into it.

Rourke is a personal assistant for the Stars and lives the kind of life most people don’t find very enjoyable, but it allows her to have her laid-back life she craves. Rourke finds herself at a masked ball, and under the spell of TWO different hotties. After a wonderous night at a masked ball, in the arms of mysterious strangers she finds herself falling.

Little does she know this stranger is not just any stranger.

After some time, Rourke starts a new job for Roman, the mysterious man from the ball.

Recognize her?

Read it, read it, read it!

I need the next in the series please!

Passions ignite when the truth about Roman’s business comes to light. Lives will be lost, hearts will be broken, and a new kingdom is about to be built.

•••••••••••••

REVIEW:  The Dirty Princess; the second in the Royal Secrets trilogy is intriguing, engaging and over all what you would want in the second book to the Exiled Prince. The cliffhanger from the first book kicks off the second. Rourke pictures herself as a modern-day Cinderella, but after she slowly starts to learn things about Roman, she finds herself questions her feelings.

I found myself loving more parts of this books than others, and at times I wanted to knocked Rourke up-side the head more than once. Her life has changed, going from a PA to a wife is more than a job change, it’s a life change. As always though, the steamy scenes are hot, lust filled and all consuming between Roman and Rourke.

Dramatic, suspenseful, dangerous, heartbreaking, all rolled up into one story that leaves you biting at the bookmark for the next in the series. Off I go to read the next one!

_____________

There’s no turning back once his ring is on my finger. I won’t let him go.

Hearts are broken, lives are lost, and a new kingdom is about to begin.

••••••••••••••

REVIEW:  Roman and Rourke are a mess, secrets are out, friends aren’t speaking to one another, and other are dead. Roman is recovering from an injury and Rourke is sorting through being separated from her husband. What an emotional roller-coaster, one moment you want to get off, the next you have your hangs up and enjoying the ride and then another you’re ugly crying to get off.

What can I say Jeana writes the best brooding, damage and ultra-alpha males there are out there. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the story, how Roman and Rourke find their way, how will they save their marriage. Roman’s epiphany comes at the best possible moment, and from then out it’s one of the best stories I have read all month.

Delve into the world of war, marriage, danger, lies, love and death. Nothing could be better than a good book like this one.

Shelley turned her head, looking between them both. “You know I thought it was weird that neither one of you looks a thing like your father.”
Wolf shrugged. He was happy about that. “Guess we took after Ma’s side.”
“Nope. I spent the afternoon looking through pictures of Cassidy’s family while we played with beets. They’re all small. She said Robert’s people were, too.”
Leo sighed. “We’re not aliens, Shell.”
Oh, god, had his mother gotten to her? “No alien DNA here.”
She shrugged, a teasing smile on her lips. “I don’t know. You seem smarter and faster and more agile than the normal human. And hey, I wouldn’t mind if my kids got an edge because their dads had some freaky genetics.”
She laughed and threw her arms around Leo, kissing him soundly. She turned and gave Wolf the same treatment.
He could actually see several play scenarios where being half-alien might be fun.
“Hey, I have about thirty minutes before I have to drink beet juice. Why don’t we have one last crazy fling before we’re boring old married people?” Shelley asked, a glint in her eye.
Wolf knew just the place. “There’s a big closet where Zane keeps the dry goods.”
He started to lead them back, finding the door and hauling them all in. He shut the door and turned on the small light. Thank god Lucy, Zane’s waitress, was as obsessively, compulsively clean as his brother. The storage room was pin neat and had enough space for what he needed to do.
“Shouldn’t we turn the lights off?” Shelley asked.
Leo stared at her. “Shouldn’t you take your clothes off?”
Yep, he was already in Dom mode. That was plain to see. “Hurry, baby. He’ll spend all his time spanking you and then we won’t get to the part where I feel some small amount of relief for my aching dick.”
It was only the truth. He’d been hard for days. Well, the whole sweat lodge thing had actually been a blessing since his cock had shriveled up at the thought of being alone in a sweaty, naked place with his brother and de facto stepfather, and his stepfather had been talking sex. It had been damn funny until he got a picture of it in his head. He was actually happy now that he was hard again. For a couple of minutes, he thought his cock might be dead.
“Well, we can’t have that, can we?” Shelley pulled the tie on her wrap dress and was handing it to Leo in no time at all. Her gorgeous curves were on full display in a sexy black bra and some killer heels. No panties. His girl had learned that lesson long ago.
Leo sighed, his hand covering her shoulders and sliding down to her breasts. “Do you have any idea how much we’ve missed these breasts?”
Wolf flicked the back clasp of her bra because the situation was far too desperate for a ton of playtime. His brother liked to warm up, but Wolf was already on fire. “We sat around drinking beer last night and moaning about how long it had been since we’ve seen you naked, baby.”
A shake in Leo’s voice gave away the fact that he was on edge, too. “It’s been eight days, thirteen hours, and twenty-four minutes.”
Her head fell back against Wolf’s shoulder as she laughed. “Well, you two certainly know how to make a girl feel wanted.”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 12, 2019

She thought he was the perfect man. Then she met his best friend. One unbelievable weekend will change their lives forever.

It’s been eight months since the one-night stand that changed Rayna’s life, and she still thinks about Cain every day, making it hard to move on.

When her best friend plans a girls’ weekend in Vegas, Rayna is ready to take a leap of faith and get on with her life… until she finds herself stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire. Alone, afraid, and in the middle of nowhere, the last person she expects to stop and lend a hand is the one man she’s never been able to forget. Cain. But that’s exactly who shows up, and he’s even hotter now than he was on New Year’s Eve.

Cain can’t believe his good fortune. Rayna has haunted his memories for eight long months. Now he has a chance to finish what he started, and if Rayna is game, he’s prepared to blow her mind. Because this time his best friend Storm is with him, and the pair has a salaciously unique history with women. Maybe he and Storm are just what the overly sheltered Rayna needs to truly set herself free from her tragic past.

But hearts can be fickle lovers, and none of them can predict how one night of passionate exploration will alter the bonds of friendship, proving that sometimes three really can be a crowd.

••••••••••

REVIEW:SAVAGE STORM is the first full-length instalment in Donya Lynne’s contemporary, adult SAVAGE STORM erotic, romance series focusing on artist Rayna Bellamy, Cain Savage, and Mike ‘Storm’ . SAVAGE STORM picks up approximately 7 months after the events of the prequel novella LIGHTNING STRIKES. I recommend reading LIGHTNING STRIKES for back story and history between Rayna and Cain. LIGHTNING STRIKES is currently FREE at all ebook retailers

NOTE: SAVAGE STORM contains M/F/M sexual scenarios as well as some light spanking.

Told from three third person perspectives (Rayna, Cain and Mike) SAVAGE STORM follows in the aftermath of a New Year’s Eve one night stand in which Cain Savage woke to an empty bed. Seven months later Cain would come face to face with the woman he could never forget-Rayna Bellamy- a woman who stirred something deep within our story line hero. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Rayna and best friends Cain and Mike, and the potential fall-out as jealousy and life stand in the way.

Rayna Bellamy doesn’t do long-term commitments and instead decided to focus on a girl’s weekend in Vegas but a flat tire will bring Cain Savage up close and personal, the man with whom she spent a one-night stand. Cain and his best friend Mike aka Storm are currently living and working in Siberia, California, and are ready to add bring Rayna Bellamy into their lives, if only for a short time. Neither Cain nor Mike do romance and love but Mike begins to develop feelings for Rayna, feelings that leave Cain questioning the future, in more ways than one.

The relationship between Rayna, Cain and Mike is highly sexual; a ménage affair that threatens the life-long friendship between Cain and Mike, a friendship that is threatened by something else. Mike and Cain have shared several women in the past but something about Rayna pulls the friends in opposite directions. Rayna is willing to step out of her comfort zone but soon finds herself falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

We are introduced to Cain’s best friend Mike aka Storm, as well as the reintroduction of Rayna’s brother Kai, and her best friend Amy.

The world building continues to follow the events that destroyed Rayna’s life, and left her a shell of her former self but new information will come to light revealing what happened, and what will never be. In this, our heroine has a complete transformation in regards to her emotional stability, a transformation that is questionable in light of the fall-out from the events in her past. SAVAGE STORM reveals a little bit of the background history between Cain and Mike but skirts around the current situation, or how and why Mike and Cain are able to travel the world volunteering for one philanthropic adventure after another. I am hoping Donya reveals more of Cain and Mike’s back story.

SAVAGE STORM is a story of friendship, jealousy, secrets and love. The premise is intriguing, engaging and spicy; the characters are energetic and sassy; the romance is sensitive and spirited but quickly turns into a love triangle that could end tragically for one of our story line characters. SAVAGE STORM ends on a cliff-hanger, you have been warned.

REVIEW: LIGHTNING STRIKES is the prequel novella in Donya Lynne’s contemporary, adult SAVAGE STORM erotic, romance series. This is twenty-five year old Rayna and Cain’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Rayna and Cain) LIGHTNING STRIKES focuses on a New Year’s Eve celebration, one in which Rayna will bury her fears, her struggles with agoraphobia, that see our heroine pushing beyond her issues, and into a night of unbridled passion. A one-night stand wherein Cain wakes alone with only his memories of the night before, and our heroine’s forgotten panties.

LIGHTNING STRIKES is a very quick read that introduces Cain and Rayna, and the potential for so much more.

How had the night come to this? Until Cain, she had never hooked up with a stranger. And, until Mike, she had never thought she would want to do something so reckless again. But now, here she was, torn, confused, and ready to throw caution to the wind.
“He likes you,” Cain said matter-of-factly.
“Oh?” She averted her eyes, not wanting him to see how much she liked Mike too.
“I told you he would.” He took a final drag on his cigar, then stamped it out in the ashtray. “And you like him.”
“No, I—”
“You don’t need to deny it.”
“I’m not denying—” She cut off cold when she looked up to find Cain wearing a mischievous grin, his gaze dark and heated, as if he found this development intensely arousing.
Her voice went into lockdown. Not only did it appear that Cain didn’t mind her interest in Mike, but he was actually turned on by it.
He shifted closer, leaning in. “It’s okay to be attracted to both of us, Rayna. There’s no law that says you have to choose.”
Her heart beat a wild rhythm as she replayed his words inside her head, not sure if she’d heard him right. There’s no law that says you have to choose?
Was Cain suggesting…? Was he insinuating that she could have them both? And even if he was, she had never done anything like that and wasn’t sure she could. A one-night stand was one thing, but what he was suggesting was something else entirely. Going home with two men was wrong.
Wasn’t it?
She looked up at Mike as he sank another shot, then lifted his steady, hopeful gaze to hers.
He knew. He knew what Cain was saying to her. They had planned this. They had come here prepared to take her home with them. With both of them.
Her mouth fell open as heat speared straight through her center. What would it feel like to be with both men at the same time? To have a… a… threesome—she almost couldn’t even think the word without whispering it inside her mind. Just the idea was perverted enough to make her blush from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. Only bad girls did stuff like that. Dirty, slutty, smutty, bad girls.
And Rayna wasn’t a bad girl. Other than last New Year’s Eve, she was the epitome of the girl next door. The best, cleanest, most innocent girl you could ever meet. She had maintained her virginity until she was eighteen. She had never smoked, never experimented with drugs, and never drank to the point of excess. Textbook good girl.
Now here came Cain and Mike, suggesting she do something totally absurd. Something inconceivable, unheard-of, and foolish. Something that should have had her leaping from her seat as she slapped Cain across the cheek, appalled they would even propose such an idea. Instead, she was rethinking her life choices.
Maybe she had played her life a little too safely. And, sure, maybe her agoraphobia had something to do with that, but would it be so bad to get a little wild and crazy? Maybe she would even like it.
Her breathing deepened as Cain closed the space between them.
“Is that so hard to believe, Rayna?” he asked, playing his fingers through her long hair. “That you could have two men instead of one?”
“I…” She looked at him, then glanced back at Mike.
Was this really happening?
Cain’s index finger traced the shell of her ear as he leaned closer. “That two men find you desirable enough to want to share you?”
She drew her bottom lip between her teeth and shyly bowed her head, unable to look at either of them.
Cain brushed back her hair, lightly swept his lips up her cheek, then whispered against her ear, “If you think what I did to you on New Year’s Eve was good, it was nothing compared to what Storm and I can do to you together.”
She drew in her breath. God, he smelled good. Like vanilla, tobacco, and spicy deodorant. She dragged in another luscious inhale of his scent as every nerve ending in her body lit up.
He tipped his forehead to her temple. “In that lovely Dear John note you left me, you said I’d been just what you needed, right when you needed it. Can you imagine how liberated you’ll feel tomorrow morning if you let us show you how much more there is to see?”
“I… uh…” She tried not to tremble as his lips caressed her brow.
His scruffy cheek drifted lower, scraping hers.
Closing her eyes, she let her cheek rub provocatively against his. In her mind, she was already beneath him, her legs and arms already around him, his body already rocking hard against hers.
She was hardly breathing, overwhelmed by his closeness and the heat of his body burning into hers.
A soft, rumbling moan of approval rose in his throat, making her lips part on a sigh.
The chemistry between them was as she remembered. He barely had to touch her to excite her.
Would she be able to say the same of Mike?
Her gaze slid across the room to his. He stood to the side of the pool table, watching her with Cain, his chest rising and falling heavily as his opponent took a shot and missed.
How could a woman choose when faced with two such fine but distinctly different prospects? She didn’t want to choose, and if Cain really was suggesting what she thought he was, she wouldn’t have to.
“Tell me, Rayna…” She held her breath as he brushed his lips over her ear. “Have you ever been fucked by two men at the same time?”
There it was. He’d said it out loud. And the raw, primal way he said fucked made her grateful she was seated, or she would have collapsed from the explosive weakness that shot down her legs.
“N-no.” Her mouth was drier than a bowl of talcum powder.
His fingers inched up the skirt of her dress and teased the inside of her knee.
Mike finished his game, collected his winnings, and stuffed the wad of cash in his pocket without looking at it. Then he started for the table, his gaze locked to hers with enough fire to double down on the inferno Cain had already ignited.
Cain’s fingertips trailed higher, stopping midway up her inner thigh, setting off all kinds of delightful warning bells inside her body as the invisible link between her and Mike intensified.
She held her breath.
Just as Mike reached the table, Cain kissed the patch of skin behind her ear and whispered, “Do you want to?”

Avoiding fortune hunters has never been harder…

Review:

Just in time for Christmas! Seducing an Heiress on a Train is a heartwarming Victorian Christmas story about finding real love in the midst of disaster. Lauren Smith, author of this marvelous tale has given everyone a real gift.

Now you all know I don’t do spoilers, and this is a quick novel, so I’ll give you the set up and let you know what I found so wonderful.

This is the story of Viscount Oliver Conway and an American heiress Rayne Egerton. It’s set in London 1888.

Viscount Conway (Oliver) has been trying to save his family from financial ruin after his father’s death. His father’s investments went bankrupt, leaving them owing a small fortune to pay off the debts and save their estate. There is no way for Oliver to find the funds to do that except for marrying an heiress, something he’s loathe to do. He wants a love match and a family like the one his mother and father had before things went wrong. However, to save his family, Oliver has set his mind to swallow his pride and do just that. They have a neighbor, Adelaide Berwick, daughter of Lord Berwick, and she’s always wanted to marry Oliver. Her dowry would definitely save their estate. However, she’s been a spoiled and cruel brat the whole time they’ve known her, and no one wants to have her around.

Rayne Egerton is an American and her father is in the oil and steel business. He has an enormous amount of money and would love to make a good match for his daughter. However, he also knows his daughter hates anything to do with fortune hunters. She wants to be loved for who she is rather than her father’s money.

They meet by accident at Mrs. Poole’s ball. Oliver went to the library to dodge Miss Berwick and having to propose for just a little while. Rayne was there to cool off after having had an argument earlier with Miss Berwick. Both are looking for solace and a quiet place to get their bearings. They both sneak into the library for a bit of respite at exactly the same time. Sharing the room to hide they talk and grow entranced with each other. Neither knows the other’s name or circumstances. They are so entangled already, and neither has a clue.

Later that night, Oliver’s sister told him about Rayne Egerton, the American heiress and about meeting her. She told him Rayne’s plans to visit Lord Fraser’s house in Scotland, the same party they were headed for in a few days. Oliver arranges to change his ticket and be on the train with Rayne. And the game is afoot!

This is a wonderful and light story that would make an excellent gift for those friends who love Victorian romance. Of course, it’s also a great gift for yourself to keep your heart fluttering!

The characters are well crafted, and you learn to love them all. The way it all works out is endearing and delightful. It’s an uplifting story and just in time for the holidays! Congratulations to author Lauren Smith for another magnificent story to fall in love with.
