ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 29 2019

Bryce Simpson did the only thing he could. He spurned Marjorie Steel. Even though he’ll be living on her ranch, he is determined to stay away from her. She’s worthy of more than he can even think about giving, especially now that long-buried memories are surfacing and he’s learning that his father’s sins may go even deeper than he imagined.

Bryce’s rejection destroys Marjorie, and she descends to a dark place she thought she’d abandoned forever. She emerges stronger, though, and is determined not to let heartbreak rule her life. Change is the answer, she’s sure, so she makes plans—plans that include a handsome personal trainer she meets at the gym.

When Bryce and Marjorie are thrown together, though, their ravenous hunger for each other takes over, leaving both of them more vulnerable than they realize.

REVIEW:Getting your ereaders ready bookworms; this one is AMAZING!

First, this is book 11 in the series, I personally recommend you read the books in order before you read this to get the most out of it. You won’t really get the characters or the back story if you have not, with that said, oh this book is the bees knees!

Bryce and Marj’s story is one for the memory bank. This family has gone through so much, and the blows just keep coming. Bryce is tormented, Marj is a mess, and nothing seems to want to go the way you want it to. Twist after twist, moment after moment, the crimes of each of their fathers are catching up with them and they must over come it to finally be together.

I have adored the Steel Brothers saga since book one, and the ending on this one? OMG!!! I need the next book; how can you do this to me?! *laughs* The sizzling pages of this book await the next avid reader!

REVIEW: SLAY: RUIN is the second instalment in Laurelin Paige’s contemporary, adult SLAY dark, erotic romance quartet focusing on businessman/billionaire media mogul Edward Fasbender, and Celia Warner. The SLAY Quartet is a spin-off from the author’s FIXED series, and falls in the timeline before Fixed Forever and a few years after Forever with You. SLAY: Ruin should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book one SLAY: Rivalry.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Celia and Edward) SLAY: RUIN follows the building but acrimonious relationship between businessman/billionaire media mogul Edward Fasbender, and Celia Warner. Several weeks earlier Edward Fasbender propositioned Celia Warner in an effort to regain control of his life, and that of the woman with whom he would fall in love but Celia is a game player, and she is about to enter into a game of which she has no control. Left alone for weeks to months at a time, on a Caribbean island with only Edward’s staff for companionship, Celia will discover that Edward’s power and control is beyond anything she could have imagined. Edward’s primary directive is to break the woman he married, and by breaking Celia, Edward will gain domination and command of her body and soul. What ensues is the tempestuous relationship, and sexually charged romance between Edward and Celia, and the potential fall-out as Celia reveals her past, a past that will affect Edward’s direction and intent, going forward.

Celia Warner plays with people’s lives ultimately destroying those in an attempt to regain control of her life but the past cannot be fixed, and in this Celia’s desperate need to win at all costs, will cost her her own freedom when Edward Fasbender takes control of her heart and her life.

SLAY: RUIN is a story of betrayal and revenge; power and control. Edward Fasbender is determined to break out story line heroine but in doing so realizes that Celia Warner is broken beyond repair. Never expecting to fall in love, Edward and Celia will come to terms in an effort to destroy someone else. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the characters are strong, resilient, broken and flawed; the romance struggles in the face of vengeance and determination but the author’s use of a certain four letter word is unnecessary and detracts from my overall reading enjoyment.

Yes, she was calculating and manipulative, and she was very spoiled about getting her way, but that was all surface. She was an onion. There were layers and layers underneath, parts of her that she held away. Parts she showed no one. For whatever reason, I’d caught sight of what she kept hidden, whether she’d meant for that to happen or not, I couldn’t be sure. Regardless, I was captivated. There was so much to see there, so much to take down. So much of her to know and own and destroy and redesign, and like an old habit, I couldn’t break away.

She was an addiction, and I wanted to feed on it. She wasn’t supposed to be like that.

She wasn’t supposed to want to bend to my whims. She wasn’t supposed to open up and give what I asked for. She wasn’t supposed to be so eager to take what I gave her. She certainly wasn’t supposed to see past my own curtain, wasn’t supposed to ask to see more.

I’m here for this, she’d said.

In 2013, Laurelin Paige self-published her first novel. Her husband was just laid off, she had three kids, one with special needs, and they had just filed for bankruptcy so she needed this novel to work. Less than 1 year later, her debut novel, Fixed on You, was at the top of the bestseller lists and was named one of the top ten selling books of 2014 by Publishers Weekly (the only self-published book to do so) and a Top Ten Favorite Read of 2014 by People Magazine. Her successive self-published novels have been smash hits with readers.

Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She’s a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters.

Your next Pirate Adventure awaits You!

A lady’s guide to surviving aboard a pirate ship:
1)Dress as a cabin boy.
2)Avoid drinking too much rum when the handsome captain is around.
3)Do not let the captain kiss you…again.

The last thing Roberta Harcourt needs is to be trapped on a ship with pirates. After she is separated from her father when their ship is attacked, Roberta finds herself the unwilling guest of sinfully handsome Captain Dominic Grey. He gives her two choices: to share his bed and maintain her life as a lady, or she can sleep on the floor of his cabin and live the life of a cabin boy until he decides to set her free. Refusing to be seduced by a pirate, she dresses in breeches and assumes duties on board his ship among the men, but each night, sharing a cabin with the brooding, seductively intense captain, she begins to wonder if letting him kiss her again might be a rule worth breaking…

Dominic lost his innocence long ago when he was kidnapped and sold into indentured servitude in the West Indies. Determined to leave the painful memories of his past behind, he looks only to the future and the next prize he and his crew can capture on the high seas…until he discovers and captures the feisty daughter of a naval admiral. Protecting her from other pirates and preventing her marriage to an English officer is all in a day’s work for a pirate. But Dominic is determined to play the gentleman he once was born to be. He tries to resist the siren’s call of her sweet lips, especially when she’s arguing with him.

But damned if the woman wasn’t meant to be a pirate because she’s stealing his heart…

Review:

Hold on to your hats my mates’, Lauren Smith has a swashbuckler of a tale for ya!

In all seriousness, you don’t want to miss this one. It has it all, adventure, danger, heartbreak, romance and love! What more could a reader ask?

Okay, I don’t do spoilers, but let me just set up the story for you and then let you know what I found so compelling and wonderful.

The story begins in Cornwell England 1727. A fourteen-year-old Dominic Greyville (son of the Earl of Camden) is in a fistfight with a bully, two years older, who has embarrassed a young girl. His best friend Nicholas Frey is cheering him on and trying to help with warnings. The fight is broken up and the boys head home. They make a promise they will follow each other to the ends of the earth, always. However, his father is not as pleased and sends Dominic to bed without supper. Being Dominic, he soon climbs out a window and heads for the docks, alone. He’s spotted by some bad men and kidnapped to be sold into indenture in the West Indies, along with several other boys about his age.

The story then picks up in the Port of Cadiz 1741. Dominic is now a sea captain, forced to survive as a pirate. He learns that an English ship containing a “treasure” will be coming their way soon and he and his men set out to retrieve it.

Roberta Harcourt is sailing on the ship Fortune with her father Rear Admiral Charles Harcourt to his new assignment in Port Royal in the West Indies. The only treasure aboard are some bolts of silk and the Admiral’s daughter.

Okay, that’s the setup. I won’t spoil anymore of this magnificent tale. Lauren Smith is a very talented author and I’ve enjoyed her books greatly. Her League of Rogues and Wicked Earls are all well done than thrilling. That said, I believe this is the best book I’ve read in quite some time. It opens with action and the action doesn’t quit. The pace is well kept. The characters are fascinating, even most of the secondary ones too. The dialog is witty and well done. I laughed, squirmed, sobbed, and swooned all in the same book! Please do yourself a favor and don’t miss this one! Kudos to Lauren Smith!

A best friend’s to lovers romance in the sexy new Rocktown Ink series.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: MEANT FOR YOU is the third instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult ROCKTOWN INK erotic, romance series. This is twenty-four year old, tattoo artist Dane Calero, and twenty-two year old, ranch hand Everly Williams’ story line. MEANT FOR YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Dane and Everly) MEANT FOR YOU follows the friends to lovers relationship between tattoo artist Dane Calero, and ranch hand Everly Williams. At twelve years of age, following the death of her parents, Everly Williams landed in foster care where she would be friended by Dane Calero, a fourteen year old boy would become her guardian and protector until Everly found herself taken in by an aunt she never met, an aunt whose rigid viewpoints continue to affect Everly to present day. Having kept in close contact over the years, Dane suddenly disappeared leaving Everly alone without the boy she once knew. Fast forward to present day wherein Everly has moved to Dane’s hometown in an effort to pick up the pieces of her broken heart, working the ranch owned by Dane’s brother Cal . What ensues is the rebuilding friendship, relationship and romance between Dane and Everly, and the potential fall-out as Dane’s jealousy and anger threaten his new found friendship with the woman he loves.

Everly Williams was destroyed when her best friend disappeared out of her life. Months would pass before Everly was able to move on with her life, but moving on meant giving up on her friendship with Dane Calero. A bit naïve and innocent Everly would struggle with past relationships, relationships that paled compared to her love for our story line hero. Dane had never intended to break Everly’s heart. Their friendship was something Dane had always cherished but Dane’s issues with anger (aka hothead) meant Dane had to walk away from the woman he loved.

The relationship between Dane and Everly is a friends to lovers; a second chance friendship wherein Dane must come to terms with the people in Everly’s life including the male friends and possible lovers she met while Dane was away. Dane Calero is a man who struggles with issues of anger control, and in this he takes protecting Everly over the top when someone from her past pushes Dane over the edge. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Dane’s brother Cal and his wife Cassie (Beg for You #1),Bull and Quinn (Sin for You #2), tattoo artist Trix, Grifter aka Riff, as well as the introduction of Everly’s friend Lila, her aunt Julia, and ex-boyfriends Martin Renshaw and Tanner Rogers.

MEANT FOR YOU is a story of family, friendships, second chances and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance is seductive.
