REVIEW: Wildfire begins with Tamara Gallo showing up at the Disciples compound to see one of the members, Crow, whom she met in the previous book. She did not get the reception she thought she would. When he sees Tamara, he blows her off in spectacular fashion. As he tells her to leave, Morris, the Disciples’ leader, appears at the door and informs Tamara that her family is worried sick about her and the she will not leave on her own. He brings her into the compound to see about getting her home safely. Tamara sits at the bar, where a very good looking member, Mammoth, gets her a drink. Morris tells Mammoth to look after her as he attends to Club business.

While Tamara sips her drink, she and Mammoth talk, and flirt. It doesn’t take long for the Club to go on lockdown and Mammoth is tasked with keeping her safe. Of course, sparks fly and they share some intimate moments together during said lockdown. Once the all-clear is given, Mammoth is the one who decides that he will be the one to get her home safely. Even though he has been told to keep his hands off of her by Morris, Mammoth finds himself wondering, for the first time, what if he can settle down and have someone for himself.

Once Mammoth and Tamara arrive at her grandparents’ place, things go a little awry when James sees Mammoth. Seems the two of them know each other from a club that they have frequented…..and not a motorcycle club. As for the rest of the Gallo family, especially the women, they welcomed Mammoth with open arms. When Mammoth and Tamara decide that they will be together, as in long term, they know it’ll be hard for a little while. Tamara is still in college and he has to deal with the fact that he is a full member of the Disciples. There are a few bumps along the way, but the two of them know what they want………and that’s each other.

Wildfire is another awesome story by Bliss. The chemistry between Tamara and Mammoth jumps off the page. I love the fact that Tamara is feisty and knows what she wants, and what she doesn’t. (She is a Gallo through and through!) Mammoth is a character that I didn’t see coming. I love his backstory and his willingness to do anything for those he loves. All of the Gallos show up in this one, which is always a good thing. The interactions are real and leave you wanting more. If you’ve not read Bliss, you are truly missing out. Her world building is second to none. I may have said this before, but I’ll say it again: I was hooked after one book and am so glad that I get to read what she writes and shares with us. I haven’t been this excited about a “new to me” author in a very long time. If you like your stories with a little humor, a lot of hotness and amazing characters, this is the series for you. Well done, Chelle Bliss!!! Very, very well done!

REVIEW:WICKED AS SIN : One-Mile and Brea, is the first instalment in Shayla Black’s contemporary, adult WICKED AND DEVOTED erotic, romance series focusing on Pierce ‘One-Mile’ Walker, and preacher’s daughter Brea Bell.

NOTE: If you are a fan of Shayla Black’s Wicked Lover, and Devoted Lovers series, you may recognize some of the characters including One-Mile Walker, as Wicked and Devoted crosses over with both of the aforementioned series.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Pierce and Brea) WICKED AS SIN follows the building relationship between mercenary for hire Pierce ‘One-Mile’ Walker, and preacher’s daughter Brea Bell. Since the day they met Pierce Walker has thought about nothing else than preacher’s daughter Brea Bell but her best friend and supposed lover Cutter Bryant had all but threatened our story line hero if he made a move for the woman in question. Brea knew that her friendship with Cutter Bryant was nothing more than a brotherly love but meeting Pierce Walker drew Brea like a moth to a flame, to the forbidden fruit in the proverbial Garden of Eden but a call to duty found Pierce Walker struggling to survive, and Brea would ensure that she was the woman to make the hurt go away. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Brea and Pierce, as our couple battle their attraction, and Cutter Bryant, in an effort to grow beyond friendship and nothing more.

Pierce Walker is a sharp-shooter; a sniper who never misses but his reputation as a cold-hearted killer, and possible man-whore has Cutter Bryant going all alpha on our story line heroine. Pierce Walker knows that the only woman he would ever love is quite possibly in love with someone else but little did he know that not all was what it appeared to be. Brea Bell is an innocent; a preacher’s daughter who has been protected by everyone including Cutter Bryant but our heroine likes what she sees in Pierce Walker, and goes out of her way to make sure Pierce knows she is interested as well.

The relationship between Pierce and Brea is one of immediate attraction but Cutter Bryant is desperate to make sure our couple stay clear of one another including claiming Brea for himself. Brea is a helper and nurturer by nature, and an injured Pierce is the perfect back drop to set up our story line couple. The $ex scenes are passionate and seductive but I take issue with the use of a certain four-letter word I find unnecessary in my romance story line.

We are introduced to Brea’s best friend Cutter Bryant; her father Reverend Bell, as well as Pierce’s commanding officer Colonel Caleb Edgington.

WICKED AS SIN: One-Mile and Brea Part One is a story of family and friendships; over-protective alpha males; suspense and conflict; acceptance and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are energetic, colorful and dynamic; the romance is spicy and spirited but I did struggle with Brea’s reluctance or inability to defend Pierce Walker against the accusations hurled by Cutter Bryant, accusations that could destroy our story line couple especially Pierce Walker who did nothing wrong to warrant Cutter’s caustic allegations and incriminations. WICKED AS SIN Part One ends on a cliff hanger, you have been warned.

What the devil was she doing here? Courting danger. Pierce Walker was more man than she could handle. She was likely to get herself in over her head.
But Brea owed him her thanks. And, okay…she was dying to see him again.
What could five minutes alone with the man hurt?
Suddenly, the volume on the music dropped under a dull roar and heavy footfalls got louder as they headed her way. Then the door whipped open, and Pierce stood on the other side of the threshold, scowling.
He was covered in nothing but ink, body hair, and bulging muscle from the waist up. Well-washed jeans hung low on his hips. He dangled the neck of a half-empty beer in one hand. His bare feet were built like the rest of him—big and overwhelmingly masculine.
Brea sucked in a silent, shaking breath. “Hi.”
“Brea.” His scowl disappeared. “This is a surprise.”
How was it possible that his eyes had been on her a handful of seconds and she somehow felt naked?
“Sorry to drop by. I-I just wanted to thank you.” She held out the container to him.
He took the dish from her hands. “For what?”
As Pierce propped himself against the doorframe and stared, she nearly lost herself in his fathomless black eyes. She forced herself to blink, but her wayward gaze wandered down his body. A Marine crest tattoo covered his right pectoral. More dark ink enveloped both shoulders, emphasizing every ridge and swell of his sizable physique. Well-washed denim cupped the substantial bulge between his legs.
And she utterly forgot everything she’d planned to say.
“Brea?”
His deep voice jolted her. She jerked her gaze from places it didn’t belong and cleared her throat. “Um…helping me get to the hospital the day Daddy collapsed. And for bringing my car to me afterward. It was very kind of you.”
“No problem. How’s he doing now?”
“Recovering. His surgery went well. Since you thoughtfully left me your contact information in my console, I meant to come sooner to tell you how much I appreciated your help, but I’ve been taking care of him. I finally got a few minutes, so I-I brought you these cookies. Since I didn’t know what you liked, I baked a few different kinds…” She dropped her gaze to collect her thoughts and stop rambling, but her stare glued itself to him again, this time fixating on his ridiculously delineated twelve-pack abs. “But you don’t look like you eat many.”
He laughed. Pierce Walker was menacing when he scowled, but when he smiled he was stunning. Something wild and reckless quivered in her belly, urging her to put her hands on him, press herself against him, beg him to somehow stop this breathless, fluttery yearning she’d only ever felt with him.
“Because I don’t have anyone baking me cookies.” He peeled the lid off the top and peered down. “These look good.”
“I baked the chocolate chip without nuts. I didn’t know if you were allergic.”
“I’m not.”
“I also included checkerboard, cinnamon sugar, and gluten-free almond wafer.”
“Thank you.” He curled his fingers around her shoulder. They burned like a brand as he scooted her breathlessly close to his naked torso and locked the door behind them. “Why don’t you come in and let me get you something to drink?”
“I shouldn’t stay. I would never want to interrupt your…” Goodness, what had he been doing? It was a Friday night. Maybe he was getting ready to go out. Or heaven forbid, planning to stay in…with female company.
“Game of pool. You’re not interrupting. Stay. Like a lot of things, it’s a lot more fun when you’re not playing alone.” He winked.
His seemingly suggestive words sparked a reaction low in her belly. “I-I’ve never played.”
He raised a dark brow. “Ever?”
“Daddy isn’t much for games. My friends aren’t, either.”
“What about Cutter?”
She shrugged. “He’s never shown any interest.”
He sent her a stare that looked somewhere between stunned and dubious. “You sure? I’ve seen him play.”
That didn’t surprise Brea. Cutter had a whole life she barely knew about. “I’m sure he does, but not with me.”
“I find that hard to believe.”
Were they still talking about billiards? “Anyway, I won’t keep you…”
“Don’t go. One game.” He wrapped his arm around her middle and ushered her deeper into his house. “What do you say?”
She risked a glance up at him. “You’re sure I’m not in your way?”
“No. I’m thrilled as hell to have you here, pretty girl.”
That low, deep declaration of his did something to her insides. Heat crawled up her cheeks. She ran her tongue across her suddenly dry lips. “O-one game, then.”

REVIEW: WAITING FOR MY QUEEN by Georgia Cates is an adult, enemies to lovers, arranged mafia marriage, romance story line focusing on the heir to the Rossini family, Luca Rossini, and mafia princess / ballerina Emilia Bellini.

NOTE: WAITING FOR MY QUEEN takes place in 1978-79 but most of the references are limited to popular songs of the era.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line content, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Luca and Emilia) WAITING FOR MY QUEEN follows the tempestuous relationship between the heir to the Rossini family, Luca Rossini, and mafia princess / ballerina Emilia Bellini. Years earlier, an arrangement was made between the Rossini and Bellini families in which the head of the Bellini family, Alessandro Bellini promised his eldest daughter Emilia, to Luca Rossini, in an effort to merge for power and control but Alessandro never expected Emilia to fall in love with someone else, a love that would destroy them all. Murder, mayhem and heart break ensued leaving Emilia and her mother to grieve for the victims of the Rossini cartel. Weeks later, Emilia was handed over to the Rossini family, and our heroine made a vow to avenge everyone she loved and lost. What ensues is the acrimonious relationship between Emilia and Luca, and the fall-out as Emilia’s plans for the Rossini family slowly fade as our heroine begins to lose her heart to the man with whom she would fall in love.

Luca Rossini is a cold-hearted killer; a possessive, ruthless and arrogant male who will slowly succumb to the woman he had hoped to destroy. Desperate for an heir of his own, Luca would ensure Emilia carried his heir before their relationship went any further. Emilia Bellini lost everything the day Luca killed the man that she loved but revenge would come at a cost including losing her heart to our story line anti-hero.

The relationship between Luca and Emilia is an enemies to friends, arranged mafia marriage between two people who couldn’t have been more different. Emilia had fallen in love with her childhood friend, while Luca waited until Emilia was old enough to claim as his own. As Emilia pushes all of Luca’s buttons, Luca continues to break Emilia’s heart at every turn. The $ex scenes are raw and passionate-their first time together is aggressive and forced.

We are introduced to a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including both Luca (Marco and Viviana )and Emilia’s (Sofia and Alessandro) parents; Luca’s brothers Enzo and Stephan; Emilia’s sisters Isabella, Gemma and Micaela; Nonna Caterina, Nic Moretti, and Angelica.

WAITING FOR MY QUEEN is a story of family, vengeance, betrayal and love; a story of power and control; of promises, secrets and tragedy. The premise is dramatic and intense; the characters are energetic and animated; the romance is fated, captivating and visceral.

Ask Me to Game by Zoe Forward – Review & Giveaway

Ask Me to Game by Zoe Forward – Review & Giveaway

Amazon / B&N / Kobo

Description:
Emma Duarte just volunteered to be the ultimate badass. She agreed to try out for an elite eGaming team to draw out the criminal mastermind behind the dangerous, illegal underworld of video gaming. The problem? She doesn’t know jack about the game she has to pose as an expert of. Second problem? Michael Harrison, her new brother-in-law and ill-advised one-night stand the night Emma’s sister married Michael’s brother, has been hired to train her.

Michael Harrison loves seeing straitlaced Emma off-kilter. Sure, she rebuffs him every chance she gets, but that just makes it more challenging—and fun. But at the end of the day, the goal is to get her on the Dynasty eGaming team and catch a criminal. Michael already lost his brother to this underworld, and he won’t lose Emma too.

Review:

Ask Me to Game by Zoe Forward is the 3rd book in her Game Lords series. I have read the first two books in this series, and enjoyed them both.  Ask Me to Game was another wonderful addition to this series, which could be the best one yet.

We get to see all the recurring characters from the first two books, as the story continues to revolve around finding the mysterious Symphis, the evil leader of the Gamelords, who has threatened all of our heroines, if they don’t give him what he wants.  In Ask Me to Game, Emma (Tori’s sister) is our heroine, as well as assistant to Jake and Noah; she is very organized and good at her job. Because the team, working with the FBI, is at its wits end, unable to find out who is Symphis; they decide to enlist Emma to go undercover; she is willing, though unlike Tori and Becca, she is not a gamer.

Michael Harrison, our hero and Noah’s brother, steps up to teach Emma what she needs to do in game tournament, in order to get into the Dynasty e-gaming team and Symphis.  Michael, lost his younger brother because of Symphis, and is determined to make sure Emma is safe.  Michael and Emma find it hard to ignore their attraction to each other, as the chemistry between them is hot; but both try not to succumb to their feelings while they are on the hunt.

What follows is an exciting, suspenseful and fun story. Once again, I am amazed how well Zoe Forward continues to describe the gaming industry, giving us a wonderful insight to that industry.   I loved Michael and Emma together, though due to the circumstances was a slow build romance. It was great to see many of the wonderful recurring characters from the previous books, especially Noah, Jake, Tori, Becca, Quan, Sam, just to name a few.

The second half of the book upped the tension, with the excitement escalated as Emma found herself threatened by Symphis, but it was a great ending as she and Michael managed to discover the truth.  To tell too much more would be spoilers, and you should read all three books this to enjoy the story.

Ask Me to Game was a fast-paced, fun enjoyable story; wonderful couple, great secondary characters, as well as filled with excitement and suspense

For The Win (Wynn Hockey #4) by Kelly Jamieson-a review

For The Win (Wynn Hockey #4) by Kelly Jamieson-a review

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Chapters Indigo / Google Play

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 3, 2020

Harrison Wynn
Even though I’m the oldest player on the farm team, I’m playing my heart out this year to prove that I have what it takes to play in the NHL.
Everyone expects me to live up to my dying hockey hero dad’s legacy, but my chances are receding every season.
What I need is to focus, but the team’s new yoga instructor is a major distraction; I’ve had my eye on her from the first time we met.
Except she’s not interested—okay, maybe actively disinterested—since I accidentally dumped her into the ocean during our paddleboard yoga class.
How can I prove to her—and to the NHL—that I’m worth taking a chance on?

Arya Ross
Men are the last thing I need in my life.
Yoga is my priority; it helps me center myself and heal my soul.
But I can’t turn down the once-in-a-lifetime offer to be the personal yoga instructor for the local hockey team.
Sure, there are some cute players—including Harrison Wynn, who seemingly won’t take no for an answer, and whose boyish smile and sexy charm are hard to resist.
He seems genuine, and I wonder . . .
Can I put my past behind me to start a future with him?

•••••••

REVIEW:FOR THE WIN is the fourth instalment in Kelly Jamieson’s contemporary, adult WYNN HOCKEY erotic, romance series focusing on the Wynn family. This is twenty-six year olds, NHL hockey player Harrison Wynn, and yoga instructor Arya Ross’ story line. FOR THE WIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Harrison and Arya) FOR THE WIN follows two paths including the building romance and relationship between NHL hockey player Harrison Wynn, and yoga instructor Arya Ross, and the illness that is slowly robbing the family patriarch of his mind. Arya Ross moved to California to get away from her past. As a yoga instructor Arya is able to relax and start a new life but meeting hockey player Harrison Wynn forces Arya to look beyond the past, and into a possible future but Harrison is completely unaware of the ghosts that haunt our story line heroine, ghosts about which Arya refuses to talk. As their relationship begins to bloom, Harrison finds himself making one mistake after another, mistakes about which he, once again, is completely unaware. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Arya and Harrison, and the fall out as Arya pushes Harrison out of her life.

Meanwhile, former star hockey player, and team owner Bob Wynn is battling a daily struggle with a debilitating disease. Although his wife Chelsea has kept secret many of the smaller issues, questionable financial transactions and missing money are tearing the family apart. With the truth come questions, questions that no one is able to answer.

The relationship between Arya and Harrison is one of immediate attraction but Harrison and his friends push Arya out of her comfort zone. Arya is hired as the new yoga instructor for the NHL’s California Condors, a position that places Arya in the direct line of fire for Harrison’s advances and growing love but Arya continues to struggle with demons from the past, and in this, their lack of communication set the couple up to fail. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including the large extended and slightly dysfunctional Wynn family: patriarch Bob Wynn and his wife Chelsea; GM of the Condors Theo Wynn; Theo’s brother and hockey player for the Long Beach Golden Eagles JP Wynn, as well as numerous brothers and nephews including Matthew and Mark Wynn from Bob’s first marriage: Mark’s son Jackson; Harrison’s twin brother Asher, Noah and their sister Everly. We are introduced to Arya’s roommate Taj, and his boyfriend Ziggy, as well as the introduction of several members of the California Condors.

FOR THE WIN is a story of family, friendships, secrets and struggle; of one woman’s battle with the demons from her past, and the lack of communication that threatens the growing love between our leading couple, and in this I struggled with Harrison’s acceptance of blame when, in fact, he had no idea of what happened or why, or how the simplest gestures set off our story line heroine. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance struggles in the face of secrets and Arya’s inability to reveal the truth,

Now, investigators believe Nick is somehow involved.

Nick knows he’s the perfect scapegoat. But who is framing him, and why? To clear his name, he must find the truth—a search that leads to a nefarious conspiracy whose roots stretch back decades. The prize is the most powerful position in the world: the Oval Office.

To save himself and the people he loves, Nick must stop the men who rule Washington before they bury him along with their secrets.

Review

Hour of the Assassin by Matthew Quirk is an exciting tense political thriller.  This was my first book by Quirk, and I really enjoyed it; very well written.

Nick Averose, our hero, is a former Secret Service agent, who now owns his own security firm, as he is considered the best in his field, especially his ability to think like an assassin.  Nick also goes on assignment for powerful clients, to see if he can break their security, which he can, and offers suggestions to improve.   Nick manages to break into former CIA Director, Malcolm Widener, who has top security in his home, and explains his findings to the es-Director; but as Nick prepares to leave, he hears someone breaking in, and by the time he gets back to the director, he finds him murdered.

Nick realizes he is being setup to take the fall, but manages to escape the mansion as the police and other threats arrive on site.  When he goes back to the office, all papers confirming his assignment, as well as people he talked to have been erased.  Why is someone framing him, and how high on the political front does this go?  Nick is now on the run, knowing he needs to find the truth to clear him.  Who can he trust?

What follows is a wild, exciting, tense adventure that not only puts Nick in danger, but also his trying to save those close to him whose lives become threatened. Every step along the way is filled with surprise twists, intrigue, secrets and lies.  Nick will discover that powerful people are trying to squash something from the past to help bring one of their own up for a high political office.

Hour of the Assassin was non stop action from start to finish, with no break to catch your breath.  Matthew Quirk gives us an intense exciting thriller that I could not put down until the end.  Very well written.

Description:
As the firstborn son, it’s been drilled into Nick that he is the heir apparent to the Prince family empire. But cattle ranching has never been his true passion. Nick wants to be a pilot. However, when his father dies, leaving Nick to clean up the mess, he knows he must do his duty before following his heart.

Charlotte Bailey can’t believe that Nick is back to run the ranch. As the office manager, she knows it’s her responsibility to help him. If only he wasn’t so brooding and cranky–and so hot it’s a wonder his chaps don’t melt right off him. But when sparks fly between them, she’s adamant about staying away from a cowboy on his way out the door.

Nick knows the ranch’s pretty, smart, and capable office manager is off-limits, but he needs her. And working in such close proximity to Charlotte every day is making Nick crazy. She smells good, she looks good, she makes him laugh, but most of all she makes him want to stay….

Review:

The Billionaire in Boots by Julia London is the 3rd book in her Princes of Texas series.  We already met Nick, our hero and the Prince family heir apparent; and Charlotte Bailey, our heroine, who is also the Princes office manager.

Nick, was forced to take over the cattle ranching, after the death of his father; he is not a happy camper, as he hates ranching and prefers to be a pilot, his first love.  Charlotte, has had a crush on Nick for many years, but knows he is not interested in relationships, or his job.  Though Nick can be grumpy a lot, her wonderful disposition, and her help in the office allows them to be friends.  Their constant text messages to each other (even when they are in the same office) is cute and border on hysterical at times.   I loved Charlotte, as she was such a sweet fun-loving character.

Nick enjoyed his friendship with Charlotte, but it took a bit to win me over, though more than half way through the book, he was great.   It was fun to watch their friendship build, especially as Charlotte was looking for a someone perfect for her, that would want a family, dogs and babies.  None of which Nick was suited for, but he did try to pick some guys for her.

Nick will soon begin to realize how much he enjoys Charlotte’s company, and finds himself falling hard for her, not to mention her feelings for him.  This slow build romance was wonderful, as the chemistry between them was sexy and hot, and we rooted hard for them to stay together.   But Nick’s desire to leave and become a pilot, as well as his fears of getting married and having babies threatened any future for them.

What follows was a sweet, heartwarming, fun romance between two people destined to live other lives.    Nick and Charlotte were a great couple, which we didn’t see any chance for them to find a way to stay together, but fate always wins.  I loved reading this sweet romance, in a small western town, with many wonderful characters from both the Prince and Bailey families.  I adored Rufus, Charlotte’s older dog, who was a riot.

The Billionaire in Boots was a wonderful, fun, enjoyable story that had us smiling so many times throughout the book.  It was a fantastic fun heartwarming read.  Julia London once again gives us a wonderful story, with a great couple and likeable characters, which always makes the stories more enjoyable.   I suggest you read this wonderful small town romance written so well by Julia London.

Description:
Eileen Jackson was happy to set aside her own dreams to raise a family with her husband, Paul. Together they built an ordinary life in a Connecticut town, the perfect place for their kids to grow up. But when Eileen discovers that Paul’s late nights in the city are hiding an affair with a younger woman, she begins to question all those years of sacrifice and compromise. On the brink of forty and wondering what she’s going to do with the rest of her life, is it too late for her to start over?

Meanwhile, as Paul is thrust back into the role of suburban fatherhood, his girlfriend, Olivia, is in Manhattan, struggling to find herself in the shadow of her mother, a famous actress, and her grandmother, a fiercely independent ninety-two-year-old artist. With their unique brands of advice ringing in her head, Olivia takes a major step, expanding her art gallery business internationally. Seeing her mother pursue old dreams and even find new love, Olivia realizes that there is so much she must learn about herself before committing her life to someone else.

Ultimately, Eileen decides to chase her own dreams as well. She’s off to Paris to attend Le Cordon Bleu cooking school. What awaits is an adventure that reinvents her life and redefines her.

At every age, there are challenges to be met and new worlds to discover. In this surprising, illuminating novel, Danielle Steel gives us a warmhearted portrait of people driven by their emotions, life experiences, and loyalties, who realize that it’s never too late to turn a new page and start again.

Review:

The Numbers Game by Danielle Steel is another one of her wonderful stories of family and problems that have an effect on everyone lives along the way. The story centers around married couple, Eileen and Paul, who both gave up their dreams as teenagers to marry, as she was pregnant.  Years later, they live in a nice house in Connecticut, with Eileen being a stay at home mom, and Paul having a successful career in New York; they have three children, with the oldest being Penny at 17.

When Paul works very long hours, Eileen begins to suspect that he may be having an affair.   When she approaches Paul, he reluctantly confesses that he has been seeing a younger woman.  Eileen and Paul will separate, and their lives and choices is the focus of this story. Paul lives in New York, with his very young girlfriend, Olivia, who has a successful art gallery.  Olivia comes from a famous family, her mother is an actress, and grandmother is a world renown sculptor.

Eileen, slowly begins to adjust life without Paul, and finds herself becoming more self sufficient and changes in her life are for the better.  She decides that though she is in her 40’s, she is still young enough to fulfill her dreams.  Eileen, who is a good cook, signs up for a class in Paris to attend Le Cordon Bleu cooking school, as she wants to start a catering business. To do so, she convinces Paul to stay with the kids for three months, which he agrees, since he feels he owes her this, even if it begins to hurt his relationship with Olivia.

The story revolves around Eileen, as well as Olivia, and to a smaller content, Penny (Eileen & Paul’s daughter), Gwen (the actress), and Gabriella (grandmother), as we watch how all their lives, each at various ages, develop in this heartwarming and wonderful story about life effecting each of them.   I did like all the women involved, and though Eileen was a great heroine, as she was not only a wonderful person, but very likeable.  At first, I was not a fan of Olivia, but over time, she turned out pretty good, and also likeable.

What follows is watching each of them come to major decisions, with many changes along the way, including breakups, divorce, love, happiness and family.  The Numbers Game was very well written by Danielle Steel
