ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 21, 2020

It began with betrayal.
And ended in murder.

She was never supposed to cross my path.
She was never supposed to know about the Currency of Secrets or the Oaths of Blood.

But like a thief in the night, she stole my soul even if she wasn’t mine to possess.

As a member of the Elite, I live by simple tenets. A gentleman above all. Private matters stay private. Secrets whispered are never revealed. Enemies and friends are of the same coin. And power is king.

My so-called brothers killed my friend. I intend to make them pay. And before it’s over, I’ll bend all the rules of morality, decency and legality. I will borrow and steal to set the scales right. But begging–begging, you can forget about.

My name is Ben Covington and I know my sins.

••••••

REVIEW: BIG BEN is the first instalment in Nana Malone’s contemporary, adult SEE NO EVIL erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on billionaire businessman Ben Covington, and operations director Olivia Ashong.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Ben and Olivia) BIG BEN follows several paths including the building relationship between billionaire businessman Ben Covington, and operations director Olivia Ashong.

Ben Covington is a member of the Elite, closely connected to the Uber rich and powerful of Eton Academy in London England, but the murder of his best friend Toby ten years earlier, finds Ben on the hunt for the men responsible but Ben never expected to find himself trapped in a closet with a woman trying to hide from someone she knows. Enter Olivia Ashong, the woman who would be pulled into a world of secret societies when Ben hid something of value with our leading heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Olivia and Ben,and the fall-out as more than one person has targeted our couple in a game of cat and mouse.

Ben Covington, along with friends East Hale and Bridge Edgerton have been looking for proof to take down the men currently controlling the group known as the Elite but Ben goes to desperate measures to ensure the hierarchy no longer remains in the hands of the few but in doing so disrupts a nest of would-be vipers.

Olivia Ashong’s current relationship is spiralling out of control but when Ben Covington offers her the position of operations director at his company, London Lords, Olivia had no idea the direction her life was about to lead. Several attempts on her life; a possible stalker with designs on our heroine; and a soon to be ex-boyfriend who continues to guilt Olivia into standing by his side, force Olivia to seek refuge with the man she is currently calling boss.

The relationship between Olivia and Ben begins as a business arrangement when Olivia refuses to give Ben back an item she currently has in her possession. Desperate to keep Olivia close, Ben offers Olivia the position of operations director, and in doing so, keeps the woman that calls to his heart, close and protected from those trying to do harm. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

We are introduced to Ben’s friends and fellow Elite Eton brothers: East Hale and Bridge Edgerton: Olivia’s boyfriend Dexter, and his smarmy boss Fenton Mills; Olivia’s friend Telly, as well as Elite members Bram Van Linsted and his father Marcus.

BIG BEN is a story of secrets and lies; the powerful elite, the well-to-do and politically connected; murder, chaos, and control. The premise is intriguing and entertaining; the romance is a slow seduction with plenty of sexual tension; the characters are colorful and dynamic. BIG BEN ends on a cliff anger-you have been warned.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 22, 2020

Lord Percival Bretagne is used to playing games. He survived being a spy for a decade using his wits alone. But that was just life and death, now he’s playing for the most important prize of all—love.

He’ll Stop at Nothing . . .

Ten years after his family gave him up for dead, British spy Lord Percival Bretagne is back home, but his mission is far from over. Playing the aristocrat in London gambling dens and at country house parties is just a cover for Percy’s real quest. He’s hunting the man who stole everything from him—his family, his marriage, even his identity. And this time nothing, and no one, will stand in his way.

She’ll Risk it All . . .

But one night with Isabel Galante changes everything. She’s willing to gamble a woman’s most intimate prize in order to save her imprisoned father, but she didn’t expect a devilishly handsome opponent with a dangerously attractive wicked streak. Isabel would do anything for her family, including betraying Percy, but she has no idea that she’s stumbled into the middle of a decade-long quest for revenge.

Who Will Win in the Game Called Love?

Percy has been betrayed before, and now the man who destroyed his life is using Isabel to strike again. With the fate of the government and his new life in the balance, he’ll have to keep Isabel seductively, scandalously close. They begin a passionate game of truth and lies, deception and dalliance, uncovering the heart of who they really are and realizing that winning might mean losing what matters the most—each other.

•••••••••••

REVIEW:  Although it’s from a series, they all read as standalones.

Percy has been a spy for ten long years, it’s something he’s good at, and he likes it. But he wasn’t always a spy, his past is an interesting one, and we get to see glimpses of it through the story. But we get the full story near the end of the book.
He uses people to his advantage, and has no conscience, it’s for the good of the country (well that’s his excuse) and when an opportunity to return to England presents itself, Percy takes it with both hands. He’s going to end this game once and for all. He lost everything once, he’s not prepared to lose again. But Percy also has a dark side, an addiction to the chase, can he simply give up this spy game and become a Lord once again?

Isabel is a seamstress, but blackmail has her pretending to be a prostitution. She has to win to keep her family together, but meeting Percy throws it all into chaos. I liked Isabel, she had deep family loyalty, but when she meets Percy, she’s torn, does she do as her blackmailer wants? Or can she find a way round this mess, and have Percy and her family?

This is basically a mystery/romance. The main characters are very well written, both have a sense of duty, neither will be taken for a fool, both have been let down in the past. Liked the premise of the book, usually a period romance had the female role as a simpering fool, a weak minded simpleton. But Isabel is more than that, she has a brain, and it’s fully engaged at all time’s.

Percy is your usual rogue, but he has a hidden side, and that becomes more evident the further you get into the book.

Scenes are well written, the romance side is steamy and it rolls at a steady pace.

Her friends at the brewpub, though, are quick to tell her Colin isn’t exactly new in town. He’s the black sheep of Antero and disappeared years ago without a word. Now he’s back and hoping to prove he’s changed, but the welcome they give him is harsher than the winter winds.

She knows she shouldn’t be falling for someone that everyone says can’t be trusted. And getting tangled up in his wild past could ruin the future of everything she’s worked so hard to build… So why can’t they stay away from each other?

Each book in the Brewing Love series is STANDALONE:
* Love on Tap
* Saison for Love
* Wild Love

Review:

Wild Love by Meg Benjamin is book three in the Brewing Love Series.

Colin Brooks has come back to Antero, Colorado. And this times things are way different. Colin was here before, but abruptly had to leave for family issues, leaving his hood friends in a bind. Colon was part co-owner in Antero Brewing Company. And now with nothing left to his name but his dog Wiseass, he is back wanting to start brewing again. Wanting the life he had before, the one where he was truly happy. But co-owners Bec and Liam, who were left to pick up the pieces, are not happy to see him again.  His first stop in town is the Salty Goat, the town diner. And that is where he meets Peaches Guidry. She came to Antero to start over. She is the manager and head chef of The Salty Goat. She is finally in a good spot in her life and does not need anyone messing that up.  Her friends at the local brewery are quick to let her know exactly how they feel about Colin. She knows to be cautious of the new guy in town. But she just can’t stay away from him. Will he cost her everything she has worked so hard for? Can they even have a relationship with how half the town feels about him?

I absolutely loved the characters of Colin and Peaches. Each one has had their own share of knock downs. But I love how that despite that, they were drawn to each other. Peaches has a giving and loving heart, she is exactly what Colin needs. The tension that grows between them is wrought with longing and need!

Wild Love can be read as a stand alone, but this series is quite wonderful and worth the time to read!  Great background story of a brewing company   , with lots of information and interesting facts! The only thing that could have made this series better would be to list all the delicious recipes used at The Salty Goat!!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 20, 2020.

Lies. Deceit. Espionage. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg here in DC.

My boyfriend is fake engaged, I’m pretty sure someone out there is trying to kill me, and now a sexy-as-sin attorney from the Justice Department is investigating me and I have zero clue as to why. Torn between duty and love, I’m not just floundering in my role as VP, I’m drowning.

When the pieces of the president’s plan come to light, I know I have to stop him. Permanently this time. How I’ll get out of this alive, I have no idea, but at least I still have my favorite secret service agent, Trey Benson, by my side—for now.

I’ll do whatever it takes to remove Kyle from office, even if it means sacrificing everything I love. Again.

Power Switch is the third book in the five-book Power Play series and is a continuation of Randi and Trey’s epic love story. The books in this series cannot be read as standalones. All five books follow one main couple’s relationship as it grows through a five-year time period. It’s suspenseful, steamy, and oh so unputdownable. If you’re a fan of Tiffany Snow, Meghan March, and Skye Warren, then this series is for YOU!

•••••

REVIEW:POWER SWITCH is the third instalment in Kennedy Mitchell’s contemporary , adult POWER PLAY erotic, romantic, political suspense series. This is the continuing story of attorney/vice president Randi Sawyer, and thirty-eight year old, Secret Service agent Trey Benson. POWER SWITCH should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book two POWER TWIST.

NOTE: If you have not read books one and two, there may be some spoilers in my review.

SOME BACKGROUND: Months earlier Randi Sawyer became the vice-presidential running mate to Kyle Birmingham, a man whose dirty politics run deadly and deep but in doing so Randi has angered a very powerful man who is determined to destroy our story line heroine.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Randi and Trey) POWER SWITCH continues to focus on Randi and Trey’s tentative hold on their relationship and love, and the ongoing threats to Randi’s safety as the current sitting vice president of the United States. Someone is determined to take down Randi Sawyer, but Randi is determined to take down the man in charge. Meanwhile, the Assistant Attorney General begins an investigation of his own, an investigation that will lead directly to the top. With Randi’s connections in Russia, and her love for a man who is battling his own personal war, our heroine will find herself sitting in the top chair of the land. What ensues is the building struggle for power and control, and the fall-out when secrets reveal the potential for war.

POWER SWITCH is a story of fractured family dynamics, blackmail, danger and abuse of power, corruption, threats, secrets, lies and love; and the dangerous machinations of the power elite. The fast paced premise is intriguing and engaging; the romance is energetic and steamy; the characters are colorful, strong and dynamic. Once again, I have to question the attempts on our heroine’s life, attempts that reflect badly on her security and the man that she loves-you will have to suspend reality.

Review:

Wild Wolf Mate by Dianna Love is the 5th book in her wonderful League of Gallize Shifters series.  I have said this previously, I am a big fan of Dianna Love, and I look forward to reading all of her books, as she always gives us great exciting, fun stories, with fantastic characters.   Background: The Gallize shifters are run by an ancient and powerful shifter, and they are the good guys, who secretly protect humans from the bad shifter groups.

Adrian, our hero, whom we met previously, is a Gallize Wolf Shifter, and he continues to have problems with his wolf, which happened on a rescue mission when they were locked in a cage.  The Guardian has sent Adrian on a mission, hoping he would find a way to reconcile with his wolf “Red” (nickname is Mad Red), who is deranged since that mission). Because of this, Adrian lives a tortured existence constantly fighting his angry wolf.

Jazlyn, our heroine, is a healer who helped save Adrian’s life in the previous book, but she is on the run from shifters, as she killed one shifter, but she did so in self defense and has to find a way to prove it. Jazlyn is also trying to find and save some female shifters that were kidnapped. Adrian will come to her rescue, as he knows she is his mate; but can help her prove her innocence?

It is Jazlyn, who tries to heal the bond between Adrian and Red, but she knows it is a slow process.  The two very quickly succumb to their feelings for each other, which complicates things for both; The Guardian wants Adrian to find her, and Jazlyn is determined to save her friends.  I really loved Jazlyn and Adrian together, not to mention their wolves also feel that the pull of being mates.

What follows is an exciting action-packed story, with Jazlyn getting caught and Adrian having to come to her rescue. The last half of the book was great, especially as we raced to the climatic ending.  I was on the edge of my seat during the tense non-stop action-packed last half of the book.  I do not want to ruin it for you by giving any spoilers, but this was an edge of your seat suspense that had us holding our breaths to find out if they would survive, and if Red would help Adrian.

Dianna Love once again gives us another wonderful story, and a series that continues to amaze us with each book, which are always fun, exciting, action packed adventures; and with a great sexy couple.

As I always come to expect with Dianna Love, Wild Wolf Mate was a tense, sexy, exciting adventure; with a great couple and wonderful secondary characters.  If you are not reading Dianna Love, you need to start, as she always creates exciting fun stories.   I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 23, 2020

I was stolen. Hidden.
Trapped in a hell beyond salvation.

Until him. Luca.
The man who changed everything with his soothing words and vows of protection.

I shouldn’t trust him.
What he promises is something I gave up on long ago.
And yet here I am, falling under the spell of a reality I crave.

I want him to save me. I need it.
But I also learned long ago that the most ruthless men can hide behind pretty words and prettier faces.

•••••••

REVIEW:  SAVIOR is the fourth instalment in Eden Summers’ contemporary, adult HUNTING HER dark, erotic, romantic suspense series, and part one of Penny Decker and ex Navy SEAL Luca’s duet that follows the rescue of Penny Decker, and the take down of a sexual trafficking ring. SAVIOR can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story, history and cohesion as there is an interconnected plot line throughout.

NOTE: SAVIOR contains scenes that may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Penny and Luca) SAVIOR focuses on the rescue of Penny Decker, the sister of Sebastian Decker, and the woman with whom Luca will fall in love. Eighteen months earlier Penny Decker disappeared and has been held captive in Greece, as a sexual slave along with several other women, by crime lord Luther Torian. Luther Torian is the estranged father of Cole Torian (Torian #3) and Keira Torian (Decker #2), and as such the siblings know a thing or two about the need to take down their father and the men he has working and controlling his business.

Penny Decker is a strong willed young woman but a woman left vulnerable by the abuse and torture by Luther Torian. With the arrival of her would-be rescuers Penny struggles with issues of trust, PTSD, and the knowledge that abusers hide behind secrets and lies. Believing herself broken, and an embarrassment to her family, Penny is reluctant to leave the hellhole she has called her prison for eighteen months. Luca’s assignment, along with the other members of the team, is to find Penny Decker, and take down the man responsible for destroying so many lives but Luca never expected to come face to face with a woman that would call to his heart.

The relationship between Luca and Penny is that of victim and rescuer; an immediate attraction that does not go unnoticed by Penny’s brother Sebastian Decker. There is no romance or love, there is only the knowledge that Penny and the other women have been defenceless against a monster who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Cole Torian and Anissa Fox, Sebastian Decker and Keira Torian, Luke Hunter, Cole and Keira’s half-brother Tobias, their father Luther Torian; several other captive women, and the men who live to torture and abuse.

SAVIOR is a dark, gritty and raw story of betrayal and vengeance, and the dysfunctional dynamics of the Torian family, and the legacy imparted to the vulnerable heirs. The premise is heart breaking and astonishing; the characters are broken but strong, tragic yet impassioned.

TEMPER (Knights of Fury 3) by Chantal Fernando-Review Tour

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 20 , 2020

Every year, the hot, tatted biker comes into Abbie’s bar, orders whiskey and asks her out. Every year, Abbie turns him down. After all, dating a man that goes by Temper seems like a really bad idea, no matter how attracted she is to him.

But this year is different. Abbie’s different. Older, wiser and tired of being stuck behind the bar in a sleepy town. This year, she’s ready for whatever adventure the sexy but sweet biker has in store for her.

Or so she thinks…until an elegant candlelit dinner ends with a dead body.

Now Abbie finds herself on the ride of her life, whisked away to the big city in Temper’s protective custody. She should be scared, but—despite his nickname—it’s clear the last thing Temper would ever do is hurt a hair on her head. And when danger catches up with them, Abbie soon realizes that holding tight to her man while straddling a Harley may be the safest place of all.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: TEMPER is the third instalment in Chantal Fernandos contemporary, adult KNIGHTS OF FURY erotic, MC romance series focusing on the members of the Knights of Fury MC. This is forty-two year old, Knights of Fury President Tommy aka Temper, and twenty-eight year old bar waitress Abbie’s story line. TEMPER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from first person perspective (Abbie) TEMPER follows the building relationship between forty-two year old, Knights of Fury President Tommy aka Temper, and twenty eight year old bar waitress Abbie. For close to five years, every time his MC passed through Vegas on their way to California, Temper has returned to Abbie’s bar, in the hopes of convincing our heroine to go out on a date but when Abbie finally agrees to go out with Temper, nothing goes according to plan and Abbie finds herself a temporary prisoner of the Knights of Fury MC. An attack against the MC, and the resulting death of a rogue for hire, finds Abbie under the protection of the Knights of Fury, a protection that is also meant to determine if and when she is able to go home. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Abbie and Temper, and the potential fall-out as a familiar enemy begins to orchestrate a take-down of the Knights of Fury MC.

All of her life Abbie has been warned, by her mother, to stay away from the bikers and their dangerous lifestyles but little did Abbie know that her world was about to spiral out of control when secrets and lies begin to reveal. Temper doesn’t do relationships but something about Abbie calls to Temper’s heart. For five years Temper has bided his time in an effort to convince Abbie that he is a worthy mate but things go from bad to worse as their time together results in a target on Abbie’s back.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Saint and Skylar, Temper, Trade, Dee, Chains and Crow, as well as the introduction of drug kingpin Grayson Palmer, Abbie’s sister Ivy, their mother, and the return of Skylar’s mother Georgia.

TEMPER is a story of family, friendships, secrets and lies; of betrayal and revenge; of revelations and truth. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is passionate and intense; the characters are numerous, charismatic and seductive . I will add that I wish the story line was told in dual perspectives (or dual third person) as we are completely oblivious to the behind the scenes of the Knights of Fury MC-their numerous jobs, meetings and frequent trips to gather intel and meet with other MCs. In this, I felt there could have been so much more potential to the story line and thusly the series as a whole.
