ABOUT THE BOOK: RELEASE DATE May 26, 2020

Violet Abrams may have been a bridesmaid no less than seven times, but her wedding day was near—she could feel it. Until her longtime boyfriend left her for someone else. That’s just fine—she has her photography and a new project redesigning her sister’s bakery to keep her happy and fulfilled. Fast-forward to the day of his wedding, though, when Violet might have accidentally, totally not on purpose, started a fire. And… Officially the worst day ever.

Firefighter Ford Maguire thought he’d seen it all. Until he’s called out because someone tried to set the local bakery on fire…with a wedding magazine? The little arsonist might be the cutest woman he’s ever seen, but he’s too career-focused to consider something serious. Still, Violet seems like a great person to help him navigate his upcoming “man of honor” duties in his best friend’s wedding.

Pretty soon, not only is Violet giving him lessons on all things weddings, she’s helping him train his latest rescue-dog recruit puppies and weaving her way seamlessly into his lone-wolf lifestyle. But forever is the last thing on Ford’s mind, and if there’s one thing a perpetual bridesmaid knows, it’s the importance of a happily ever after.

••••••••

REVIEW: ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID is the second instalment in Cindi Madsen’s contemporary, adult GETTING HITCHED romance series focusing on the people of Uncertainty, Alabama. This is paramedic/firefighter Ford Maguire, and photographer Violet Abram’s story line. ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Ford and Violet) ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID follows the building relationship between paramedic/firefighter Ford Maguire, and photographer Violet Abrams. Finding her boyfriend of ten years in the arms of another woman pushed Violet Abrams a little too far. Leaving Pensacola, Florida, heading to Uncertainty, Alabama, Violet has time to reconsider all that has happened. Taking some time for herself, Violet volunteers to refurbish her half-sister’s bakery where she will come face to face with Uncertainty, Alabama’s K-9 trainer, paramedic, fire-fighter Ford Maguire when she accidentally sets the bakery oven on fire. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Ford and Violet, and the potential fall-out when Ford gets some unsolicited advice from several people forcing our hero to walk away from the woman with whom he had fallen in love.

Violet Abrams kept a binder of all things wedding having prepared for the day when she would fall in love but Violet was about to become a bridesmaid for the eighth and final time believing she would never be worthy of her own happily ever after. Meeting Ford Maguire gave Violet a hope for the future but Ford struggled with the direction of their current relationship. Ford Maguire thought Violet may be the one but a few well chosen words from others including a new revelation forced Ford to look at the bigger picture breaking Violet’s heart in the process.

The relationship between Violet and Ford is one of immediate attraction. Violet was only in Uncertainty, Alabama until she finished her sister’s bakery remodel, but falling for Ford had our heroine considering making Uncertainty her permanent home. Ford never considered himself a romantic having lived through his father’s numerous divorces, affairs and engagements. As the “best-dude” for Addison and Tucker’s wedding, Ford struggled with all-things wedding related further re-enforcing his lack of having a romantic side. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters. We are reintroduced to Addison Murphy and Tucker Crawford (Just One of the Groomsmen #1), as well as Will and Lexi, police officer Easton, Firefighter Darius, and Violet’s sister Maisy, and their father Mayor Hurst and his wife Cheryl.

ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are numerous, spirited and impassioned.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 20, 2020

Happily ever after is for other people.

Though she traveled extensively in warrior circles throughout the community, both at home in America and abroad in Scotland, Shanley Conlan never discovered her warrior. When the war goddesses killed her sister and brother-in-law, she assumed guardianship of her orphaned niece and walked away from her dreams of life with her fated warrior. In private, she grieved the man who no doubt lost his life when he didn’t find her, a victim of the goddess’s curse.

Resigned to her destiny…

Called back to Scotland to participate in the Samhain rituals sealing the Conlan heir to their ancestral home, Shanley is shocked to find the family harboring a rogue warrior. How else can a man nearing forty still be alive without being mated to his talisman? Worse, she can’t seem to help the lightning-fast attraction she feels for Alaisdair Graham.

Can detours lead to second chances?

Alaisdair is desperate. Gone into hiding thirteen years earlier when he didn’t find his talisman in time, he knows the reprieve from the goddess’s curse is short. If he doesn’t find his mate in the next two weeks, he won’t live long enough to celebrate another Samhain. Thinking he was spared to marry the much-younger Conlan heir, his hopes are dashed when her true warrior arrives. Yet into his life walks Shanley, and he thinks the cosmos have taken his side at last. All he has to do is convince her–before the goddess strikes and takes them all.

REVIEW: PROPHETESS is instalment 2.5 and novella in Tam DeRudder’s contemporary, adult TALISMAN paranormal/fantasy Celtic mythology series. This is forty-two year old, Celtic warrior Alaisdair Graham, and prophetess Shanley Conlan’s storyline. PROPHETESS runs parallel to and crosses over with the events of book two Warrior. We are first introduced to Shanley and Alaisdair in Warrior.

NOTE: For a complete history of the events leading up to Shanley and Alaisdair’s meeting and relationship, I recommend reading the series in order especially book two Warrior.

SOME BACKGROUND: Centuries earlier, the Morrigan cursed the descendants of the Sheridan family, a curse that has the potential to be broken with the mating of a warrior and his fated mate. Desperate to prevent the breaking of the curse, Morgan sets into motion a series of battles that will pull the Sheridan family into a war where family and friendships will be tested. Morrigan is part of Celtic mythology representing the cycle of birth and death, but is also the patron of magic and revenge, prophecy and night.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Shanley and Alaisdair) PROPHETESS follows the quick building romance and relationship between forty-two year old, Celtic warrior Alaisdair Graham, and prophetess Shanley Conlan. By the age of twenty-eight, Alaisdair Graham had never found his fated mate; his Talisman; the woman that called to his heart. Fast forward fourteen years, following an eternity on the fringes of warrior society, Alaisdair would come face to face with Shanley Conlan, his fated Talisman, and the woman with whom Alaisdair will fall in love. As the Samhaim approaches, and the war with the Morrigan on the rise, Alaisdair must prepare for battle, as his new-found mate discovers she has the ability to prophesize about the future.

PROPHETESS is a quick read; a fast paced story that overlaps with the events of book two Warrior but focuses on the relationship between two people who thought love and fate had left them behind. The premise is entertaining but I was hoping for a little bit more; the romance is passionate; the characters are colorful and charismatic.

REVIEW:NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF is the third instalment in Terry Spear’s contemporary, adult BILLIONAIRE paranormal romance series, and the twenty-ninth instalment in the author’s HEART OF THE WOLF series. This is wolf shifters billionaire business woman Lexi Summerfield, and security specialist Ryder Gallagher’s story line. NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Lexi and Ryder) NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF follows several paths including the building romance and relationship between wolf shifters billionaire business woman Lexi Summerfield, and security specialist Ryder Gallagher. Lexi Summerfield made her billions in the cosmetic industry but with her father in the witness protection program, and her mother dead in a fiery crash, Lexi found herself the target of Joe Tremaine, a very powerful man, the man her father witnessed murder the DA in cold blood. A few days of R&R with her PA and bodyguard Kate, Lexi would come face to face with wolf shifter and security specialist Ryder Gallagher, the wolf with whom Lexi will fall in love but Lexi struggles with issues of trust believing every man, human or wolf, is after he money, and in this Lexi is reluctant to reveal anything about herself. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Lexi and Ryder, as the couple, along with Kate and Ryder’s partner Mike, find themselves on a treasure hunt, hoping to find the clues, leading to information about our heroine’s father.

Meanwhile, Don Morgan, a paparazzi reporter continues to stalk our story line heroine, a reporter who finds himself caught in the middle when men are sent to take down Lexi Summerfield. Joe Tremaine is desperate to find the location of Lexi’s father, and the continuous barrage of gunmen and assassins he has sent to find Lexi, all will meet their final demise.

The relationship between Lexi and Ryder is slow to develop. Ryder is definitely interested in making Lexi his mate but Lexi’s cold veneer and distant attitude leaves something to be desired. Lexi finds herself on the receiving end of one too many dates and proposals, and in this, ‘dating’ Ryder Gallagher is just another potential male to add to her pile. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text but I struggled to feel any palpable sexual attraction-there were no romantic or discernable emotional ‘feels’ , and a barely perceptible acknowledgement of interest or sexual desire from our story line heroine until seventy-five per-cent of the story wherein Lexi asks Ryder to be her mate…that’s it….no romance, no chemistry, no seduction…only a few kisses…until this particular part of the story. At one point I thought the story was going to focus on Ryder and Kate, or Mike and Kate.

We are introduced to Lexi’s father physician Dr. Kurt and her paediatrician mother Dr. Adelaide Summerfield; Lexi’s PA and bodyguard Kate Hanover; Ryder’s friend and fellow security specialists Mike Stallings and Edward Manning: as well as numerous characters from the author’s Silver Town Wolves (Heart of the Wolf series) including Lelandi and Darien Silver.

NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF is an engaging story of family , friendships, and vengeance but once again, there is too much telling, not enough showing and plenty of unnecessary and redundant repetition which added to the already slow building story line. The romance is tender; the characters are spirited and energetic. Sadly, this is not one of my favorites.

Friendship is fine. Mating for life is a whole other story.” Lexi had never checked into their backgrounds, something she would definitely have done if one of the wolves had really moved her.
“I agree with you there.”
The rain-saturated breeze switched, and Lexi smelled the scent of a male wolf and a black bear that had passed through there recently.
“The wolf has to be a lupus garou like us,” Kate said, “since no one has reported any sightings of wolves in the area. Maybe the wolf was the one who left the message?”
“I don’t believe so.” Lexi didn’t think her father would ask another wolf to get involved in this. The fewer people who knew about it, the better. “And there’s a female black bear, by the smell of her, roaming the area. Keep your eyes peeled and continue to make noise. We need to head on back before the rain starts anyway. We can check the other location later. It will take us about an hour to reach the cabin.”
Kate laughed. “How often does the weatherman get it right?”
Lexi saw a fairy ring of mushrooms and took another picture. “Yeah, I know. But you know me. I always try to give him the benefit of the doubt.”
Light rain began to fall, and then the drops grew bigger. Lexi hurried to put away her camera, and both laughing, they pulled out their ponchos. They were already soaked by the time they got the ponchos on. Still, they’d be protected somewhat from the continuing rainfall.
A couple of young bear cubs cried out somewhere in the distance, and Lexi’s adrenaline surged. “Do you hear that?”
“Yeah, they’re close by. It sounds like danger to me.”
“They’re crying for their mother. They have to be in trouble. I’ll see if the park rangers can rescue them.” Lexi hurried to get her phone out and called the ranger service. “Hi, my friend and I were hiking, and we heard the distress calls of a couple of bear cubs.”
“We’ve got our hands full with a family of hikers who have lost their way, including one who’s badly injured. And a search party is looking for another missing hiker. We can look into the cubs’ situation after we’ve taken care of the hikers in distress.”
“Thanks.” Lexi ended the call.
“You didn’t tell them where the bear cubs are.”
“The park rangers are too busy with human distress calls. You’re my bodyguard. You can protect me.” Lexi left the designated trail, which she wouldn’t normally do as a human because she didn’t want to trample the vegetation. The bear cubs’ cries guiding her, she raced through the forest as best she could, trying not to stumble over tree branches and fall into the ferns filling the understory.
Kate trailed close behind her. “This is a dangerous idea. Where there are cubs, there’s a mother bear nearby. The female bear we smelled, I betcha.”
“Unless something has happened to her. And then we need to rescue them.”
“What do you propose we do? Take them home with you?”
Lexi was sure Kate wasn’t being serious. Wolves raising bear cubs at her oceanside home? No way.
“Once we rescue them, I’ll call the park rangers to pick up the cubs and take care of them if the mother doesn’t come for them. The rangers can find a home for them. As young as the cubs’ cries sounded, they wouldn’t be able to make it on their own.”
Lexi and Kate continued to move quickly through the underbrush in the direction of the cliffs. Lexi’s skin prickled with unease, her stomach twisting in knots. From the sound of the cubs’ cries, they were way down below the cliffs, and the only way to reach them quickly would be climbing down there. That terrified her. Worse, her fearful scent would clue Kate in.
No way had Lexi wanted anyone to know what had happened to make her fear cliffs. She prided herself on keeping her secret. But even now, she suffered a flashback: gasping as a wolf as the soil and rocks at the edge of the cliff gave way, free-falling toward the rocky ground, praying some of the tree branches would help to break her fall. They did, scraping and bruising her, but she still landed badly on the rocks below and broke her left hind leg. Just from the memory, she felt a shock of phantom pain shoot up her left leg. That would be the last time she’d fight with a boyfriend and take off on her own without telling anyone where she’d be.
It had been a stupid thing to do, something she had seen others do in videos on I Shouldn’t Be Alive—in other words, going alone, not telling anyone where she’d be, not having a satellite phone in remote areas, and not having water with her—though as a wolf, that was understandable. She’d sworn she’d never do anything that dumb herself. Worse, she’d been in her wolf form and couldn’t climb to safety with a broken leg, so she’d had to shift into her human naked form before help arrived.
She and Kate finally reached a steep cliff and Lexi hesitated, not wanting to get near the edge that, according to forest ranger reports on the area, were known to crumble. Chills raced down her bare arms and legs. She had to force herself to move toward the cliff’s edge. Slowly, so she wouldn’t end up falling and breaking a leg like she’d done before.
“Are you okay?” Kate asked.
“Yeah, sure. The cliff face is unstable. I’m just being careful.” But it was a lot more than that.
“Okay, yeah, you’re smart to do that. I guess I can’t talk you out of taking this dangerous route and looking for a safer way to get down there instead.”
“I don’t want to risk delaying the rescue.” Lexi finally reached the edge. She observed the rocky cliff, looking for the best way to climb down, terrified she would fall. The mewling cries were coming from the base of the cliff near a couple of trees.
“This is not what I had in mind when I signed up to… Holy shit,” Kate said, peering over the edge of the cliff.
Lexi looked down at the swollen creek rushing along the banks of the cliff. “The creek’s risen because of all the rain. The cubs are crying in a den down below. They could drown. We have to save them.” Lexi started down the cliff, grabbing whatever she could—rocks, tree roots, vines—to keep from falling to her death or breaking a leg or more. She grabbed what looked like a stable rock, but as soon as she tried to hold it and move her right foot to another rock, the one in her left hand pulled free. She fell and cried out, grabbing for anything that could stop her fall. She grasped a tree root and hung on for dear life, her breath coming out in harried puffs.
“Oh God, hang on, Lexi. I really didn’t sign up for this.” Kate waited to descend so she didn’t cause an avalanche of rocks and dirt to collapse on Lexi.
“You don’t have to do it.”
“Are you kidding? Then you’d be able to take all the glory!”
Lexi smiled, then frowned. If the mother bear attacked them, there wouldn’t be much glory in that.

How could a world so cruel and inhumane exist?

Little did I know the one-time-job I’d taken would plunge me into a world filled with mob ties and illegal activities or bring me face to face with the woman of my dreams. Isla Chambers was a blinding vision wrapped in Kevlar and topped in a baseball cap with FBI stitched on it.

With the sexy Isla working by my side, I gladly offered my assistance as the FBI’s only tether in uncovering this operation.
Besides, this could launch my career even further so refusing wasn’t an option.
The risk seemed small … or so I thought.
Not only did it expose Isla to danger, it also placed a huge target on my back.

It wasn’t long before I was drowning in unimaginable darkness.
How could a world so cruel and inhumane exist?
Days and nights merged until I was nothing but broken fragments.
The beautiful face that had brought me so much joy, was stolen from memory as I surrendered to the blackness now ruling my soul.
That carefree, innocent young man was beaten out of existence.
In his place, only an empty shell remained.

Until the day Isla walked back into my crumbling reality.
Was I too lost for that dream to live on?
If she still wanted me, I knew one thing.
I wasn’t worthy of her purity anymore.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 19, 2020

Devin “Bone” Wallace is fresh out of prison and under orders from his parole office to find employment or be re-incarcerated. He’s not exactly a “people person” and he’s got zero computer skills, but that doesn’t stop him from applying at one of the most prestigious real estate firms on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

High-end real estate broker Tedi Mack’s main focus is selling eight-figure beachfront mansions. In desperate need of an office receptionist, she interviews three bubblegum-chewing twenty-somethings and a stunningly handsome tattooed biker who wears his wallet on a chain. Tedi and her all-woman sales staff make a very quick decision: Devin the biker.

After Devin makes a recommendation about a listing that’s been a thorn in Tedi’s side, the property sells, and the celebration leads to an unexpected connection. The attraction is undeniable and hard to resist, but Tedi would be risking her social and professional status being with Devin, a tattooed biker saddled with debt and a surprising criminal past.

Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

••••••••

REVIEW: Misadventures of a Biker begins with Devin Wallace fresh out of prison and needing a job desperately. If he fails to secure employment, he will head back to prison. Devin has also been ordered to stay away from his motorcycle club. He has applied for several but keeps getting turned down. He sees that a real estate firm is needing, of all things, a receptionist. He enters and finds one of the employees, Kate, and says he’s there to apply for the job. It only takes a minute for Kate to realize he’s serious and when she finds out he has experience in construction management, she pretty much hires him on the spot.

When Tedi Mack, the owner of the firm, comes into the office, she is not pleased about the new hire. Kate assures her that Devin is just what the firm needs. The attraction between Tedi and Devin is almost immediate, but Tedi holds herself in check. They hold a staff meeting a few days later and when Tedi dismisses Devin’s input, he shuts her down immediately. To his surprise, Tedi backs off.

Kate had an ulterior motive in hiring Devin: she knows that he is just what Tedi needs in her life. Having been played in her previous serious relationship, Tedi has guarded her heart ferociously. However, when Devin helps her sell a property that could make or break her, Devin lets his attraction be known, only to back off, which leaves Tedi confused, and frustrated, more than ever. The two of them eventually become a couple of sorts, only to wonder if this can really work. Add to that the fact that Devin wants to rejoin his MC and you’ve got a recipe for broken hearts.

Misadventures of a Biker is another nice addition to the Misadventures series. The characters are relatable and well written. Tedi’s backstory, once revealed, gives you the insight as to why she is so guarded at first. Devin’s imprisonment was a sham from the beginning and endears him to the reader. The secondary characters are well written for the most part. The banter between Devin and his roommate, Herb (who is also an old family friend) is funny at times, but if I’m being honest, it’s also a little over the top, but doesn’t take away from the story. If you’re a fan of the genre and this series, you’ll find this a good read. Well done, Scott Hildreth!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 19, 2020

“There was a truth once. Truth we shared in the dark and scribed scars upon our hearts.
There was a lie once. A lie that shattered our hard-earned truth apart.”

Eleanor Grace did the unbelievable. She fell for a man who trades in women, dabbles in myth, and has the morals of a cold-hearted beast. However, love isn’t enough where past sins are concerned and only pain can follow.
Sully Sinclair did the impossible. He gave his trust to a goddess who has the ultimate power to break him. Unfortunately, paradise is just an illusion, his islands aren’t impenetrable, and now he has to pay the price.
A fledgling connection.
A war they can’t stop.
A future that doesn’t bow to fate.

••••••••

REVIEW: FOURTH A LIE is the fourth instalment in Pepper Winters’ contemporary, adult GODDESS ISLES erotic, dark, romance series focusing on billionaire Sullivan Sinclair, and his captive Eleanor ‘Jinx’ Grace. The GODDESS ISLES series is set in the same world as the author’s MONSTERS IN THE DARK and the INDEBTED series. FOURTH A LIE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book three THIRD A KISS:

WARNING: Due to the graphic violence and dark content of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.

SOME BACKGROUND: At twenty-one years old, Eleanor Grace was kidnapped, violated and drugged on her way to becoming a sexual slave. A prisoner in a gilded cage, Eleanor, along with several other girls, are either the willing sexual partner in a fantasy island paradise, or find themselves forced into a lifetime of suffering and pain. Purchased by billionaire Sullivan Sinclair, Eleanor is defiant to the end but a defiance that will come with a price. Four years a slave, Eleanor is about to discover that all is not well on the island paradise or with the man who now dominates and governs every aspect of her life.

If you have not read the first three instalment, there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from dual first person perspectives ( Eleanor and Sullivan) FOURTH A LIE picks up immediately after the events of book three wherein Sullivan Sinclair’s past, hell bent on taking control of the Goddess Isles has taken control of the island paradise, imprisoning and torturing Sullivan in the process. With most of the island security dead or missing, Sullivan is at the mercy of his captor, a demented and psychopathic mind without empathy, conscience or remorse. Believing the woman he loves is safe, Sullivan gives into his fate only to discover Eleanor has returned to save the man that she loves. Jealousy and power are at the heart of the betrayal when Sullivan must face his own demons to protect Eleanor Grace, and the islands he loves.

FOURTH A LIE is a dark, gritty, raw and graphic story of betrayal, desperation and love; a story of the dysfunctionality of malice, jealousy, and carnal desires; an intense, dramatic, and startling tragedy . Once again, Pepper Winters tears at the fragile hold on humanity leaving nothing but a shred of pain and heart break. Fourth a Lie ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Trials and failures had inched me closer to achieving what no one else had before.

But it was fury that shattered the threshold of evolution.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 1, 2020

The enemy of my enemy is my friend…
I never thought my father would ask this of me, to become the second generation at Eagle Elite University, to rule with an iron fist, and to take care of anyone who gets in our way.
But ever since the incident.
Ever since Him.
There’s been a war in our little clique.
After all, a house divided cannot stand.
He’s the problem, not me.
He used to kiss me like I was his oxygen.
Now he looks at me like I’m his poison.
But we both drank it, again and again, never believing there would be a day when our love would start a war.
And our friendship would shatter into a million pieces.
Then again, the worst thing you could do in the mafia is hang on to hope that your life will be normal.
The second worse thing?
Fall in love with your best friend.
Enemy.
And heir to the Nicolasi throne.

REVIEW:RUTHLESS PRINCESS is the first full-length instalment in Rachel Van Dyken’s contemporary, New adult MAFIA ROYALS erotic, dark, mafia romance series, a next generation spin off set in the author’s Eagle Elite world. This is Mafia Princess Serena Abandanato , and Junior DeLange -Nicholi’s story line. RUTHLESS PRINCESS can be read as a stand alone: you do not have to have read the Eagle Elite series but I recommend the prequel novella Royal Bully for back story as it pertains to Asher and Claire.

WARNING: Ruthless Princes contains scenes of graphic violence that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Serena and Junior) RUTHLESS PRINCESS follows the forbidden relationship between Mafia Princess Serena Abandanato , and Junior DeLange -Nicolasi. Serena Abandanato is the heir to the Abandanato throne but The Cosa Nostra has rules that must be obeyed or consequences are swift and deadly. As the daughter of Nixon Abandanato, Serena is off limits to all of her “cousins”, the extended members of the Abandanato family but more specifically off limits to Junior DeLange-Nicolasi, whose own family history has reshaped the current organization of the Cosa Nostra. Junior has been in love with Serena since the age of fifteen but when family members discover their current relationship, the order is sent to break them apart or meet reprisals from the family heads. What ensues is the acrimonious relationship between Junior and Serena, as the next generation of the Abandanato family must enforce their rule and power at mafia owned and run Eagle Elite University with deadly consequences.

The relationship between Serena And Junior struggles in the face of betrayal, palpable sexual attraction, and the ever present threat of torture and death. Serena and Junior’s relationship is akin to Romeo and Juliet’s fated love, a love that threatens the tentative peace in the Cosa Nostra. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate with the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast includes many of the original couples for the author’s Eagle Elite series: Serena’s parents Nixon and Trace: Asher’s parents Chase and Luc: Junior’s parents Phoenix and Bee: Breaker’s parents Tex and Mo: Sergio and Val: Dante and El, as well as Claire’s uncle Nikolai Blasik. We are reintroduced to Asher Abandanato, and Claire Petrov (Royal Bully), as well as Asher’s sisters Violet and Izzy, Breaker and King Campisi, and the next generation of DeLange Including Annie and Tank.

RUTHLESS PRINCESS is a story of family, betrayal, friendships and love; of vengeance and retribution, rules and consequences. The premise is dark and heart breaking; the romance struggles in the face of threats, secrets and lies; the characters are charismatic, dangerous, broken yet strong. RUTHLESS PRINCESS is an emotional, revealing and gritty story of violence, retribution, passion and love.

I should have said no when he asked me to swear fealty to him.
The knife clued me in first.
The blood second.

REVIEW:ROYAL BULLY is the prequel novella in Rachel Van Dyken’s contemporary, adult MAFIA ROYALS erotic, dark, mafia romance series. This is Asher Abandanato, and Claire Petrov’s storyline. The MAFIA ROYALS series is set in the author’s Eagle Elite world with several of the characters crossing over for back story and familiarly.

WARNING: Royal Bully contains scenes of graphic violence that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Asher and Claire) ROYAL BULLY sets the stage for the Mafia Royals-the next generation of Eagle Elite. Asher Abandanato knew Claire Petrov was his before they had ever been introduced but Claire, although aware of the Abandanato family reputation, found herself pulled into a lifestyle that was about to turn her world upside down. Allegiances are sworn; Blood In, No Out, when Claire must prove she is worthy to call herself part of the family. Claire’s fealty will be tested; Asher’s place in the family will be solidified, as our couple must come to terms with the blood on their hands.

ROYAL BULLY is a story of family, honor, position and death. The premise is dark and gritty; the romance is fated; the characters are caught between head and heart knowing one wrong move will end their lives.

He licked his lips and repeated what he always did when we had to perform, when we had to do our jobs. “I won’t be gentle with you.”
Our foreheads touched, my chest heaved with exertion like it was hard to breathe when he was so near, but really it was the promise that killed me, a promise that he wouldn’t enjoy touching me ever again, that I was more curse than cure, and yet, I knew it was all we would ever get, these fleeting moments where we did our job too well. “Then make it hurt, baby.” My voice cracked. “Make it hurt.”
His lips parted in a groan as he spun me into his arms and crushed his mouth to mine. It was part pain, part pleasure as he pulled my hair then slid a hand up my shirt like nobody was watching when everyone was.
We broke apart, mouths swollen, my lower lip was bleeding.
A reminder for both of us—this was no cease-fire, this wasn’t real, it was all a carefully constructed show.
“Mmmmm…” I smirked. “Looks like Junior’s not playing around tonight, ladies.”
Screams went up as Junior grabbed my ass and squeezed so hard, I knew I would bruise later. He roughly pulled me against his chest and nipped at my neck.
I told my body it didn’t feel good.
I told my heart we were safe.
And I forced myself to believe the lie every single time we touched.
Because to do otherwise—would destroy me.

Arctic Bite by N.J. Walters – a Review

Arctic Bite by N.J. Walters – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple

Description:
Being immortal doesn’t mean you can’t die. It just means you’re damn hard to kill.

When Alexei Medvedev joined the Forgotten Brotherhood—paranormals hired to assassinate other paranormals—he knew it wouldn’t be a cake walk. But his next target is one of Death’s own Reapers gone rogue. For the first time since he started this gig, “damn hard to kill” feels more like “damn near impossible.”

Tracking Cassie Dobbs brings him to a remote bar in small-town Alaska, where this hot-as-hell Reaper is casually serving drinks, as if she doesn’t have a bounty on her head from Death himself. Alexei is dangerously intrigued. Everyone in the Brotherhood knows the first rule: don’t fall for your target.

But Alexei soon has bigger problems to face than an unexpected attraction. They only send assassins after those who deserve to die…or so he’s been made to believe. Now that he’s met Cassie, though, he’s not so sure.

What if everything he’s been told is a lie, and the person he’s been sent to kill is the only one who knows the truth?

Each book in the Fury Unleashed series is STANDALONE:
* Fury Unleashed
* Arctic Bite

Review:

Artic Bite by N.J. Walters is the 2nd book in her Forgotten Brotherhood series.  Alexi is a bear shifter, with a little something extra. He’s been around for a long time, so nothing really surprises him anymore. But the bartender serving him drinks is, she’s his target, but he’s not sure why. And Alexi hates mysteries, so he’s going to watch and wait a little while, hoping he’ll get some answers soon.

Cassie is a grim reaper, taking souls to the afterlife. But no longer, she’s had enough, but she knows her family will come for her, It’s only a matter of time. Hiding in a bar in the middle of nowhere, Cassie serves drinks and listens to the patrons woes. She likes it here, she looks after the town, she worries about them all.

Both the main characters are interested in one another, but neither can really act upon it, what if they give in an give away what they really are!

But Cassie is being hunted and when they eventually find her, what will happen? And how will Alexi respond?

I’m liking this series more and more. This is the second book of the series.

The brotherhood is a misfit band of immortals who take contracts out to kill or capture other immortals. Each with their own story to tell. Maccus being the oldest and strongest (his story was Fury Unleashed) Asher and Maccus formed the brotherhood. Recruiting others to join them. Really well written, fight scenes come alive on the page.

Although it’s a stand alone, I found it easier to read in order, it flows a little better, and there are a few things from the previous book in this one.

The characters were great, a bear/vampire hybrid. And the grim reaper, (oh and there is more than one, which is a new one on me.) Alexi longing to belong somewhere, both shifters and vampires shun him, he’d love a family and a mate.

I loved Cassie, a reaper from the beginning of time, no emotions, seeing everything but not getting involved. Loved her take on life, her passion for chocolate and pizza, and her caring nature for those around her. I loved the growing attraction between them, they know they can’t be together, so they are going to make the most of their time together.

We also have the dilemma of Cassie being hunted. Why? She maybe a rogue reaper, but there isn’t much that can kill her. To find out why your going to need to read the story.

Oh and a few surprises to keep you on your toes. I highly recommend this book.
