ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 17, 2020

To coin a phrase, Josh is suffering a quarter-life crisis. He just broke up with his long-term girlfriend, lost his job, and moved back home with his parents (shudder). Welcome to rock bottom in Bristol. As Josh starts questioning all his life choices, he has a mad thought: Maybe he would just be better flipping a coin. After all, careful planning has landed him homeless, jobless, and single.

What starts as a joke soon becomes serious and Josh decides to start putting his faith in the capriciousness of currency. He doesn’t have anything to lose.

But when the chance of a lifetime and the girl of his dreams are on the line, will the coin guide him to a rich love life or leave him flat broke?

•••••••••

REVIEW:THE FLIP SIDE by James Bailey is a contemporary, adult , stand alone story line focusing on twenty-eight year old Josh as he navigates the game of life with the flip of a coin.

Told from first person point of view (Josh) THE FLIP SIDE follows Josh, a hotel employee, who plans an extravagant proposal on New Year’s Eve for his girl friend of four years but disaster and heart break ensue when Josh discovers said girlfriend has fallen in love with another man. Unemployed (having worked for his girlfriend’s father) and now homeless (having lived in said girlfriend’s apartment), Josh finds a fifty-pence coin, and resolves that every decision for the next year will be determined by the toss of the coin. From trivia nights to marathons, to meeting a stranger at an art gallery, then a tour through Europe searching for said stranger, Josh sets out to find love but the coin toss threatens his tentative hold on a new found relationship.

Touted as a rom-com, THE FLIP SIDE reads like a version of Bridget Jones Diary, only down on her luck Bridget is a twenty-eight year old man/child named Josh, who along with his intrepid and well-meaning but often immature group of friends discovers that life’s choices cannot be controlled by the flip of a coin. A slow building story line THE FLIP SIDE is a sweet and charming story where the romance is limited-the hero spends most of the story searching for a woman he knows little about, and the comedic aspect IMHO, struggles to take hold.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 24, 2020

Once a fighter, always a fighter…

Former Navy SEAL Mason McCarthy is done being a fighting man. Now he and the Deep Six Salvage crew are working feverishly to find the wreck of the Santa Cristina and its legendary sunken treasure. Unfortunately for Mason’s peace of mind, chatty, brilliant historian Alexandra Merriweather has joined the hunt and there’s no avoiding her. Alex is exactly the kind of distraction Mason can’t afford right now…or maybe ever.

When a murderous enemy from Mason’s past threatens the Deep Six, he must rely on old instincts and the skills he honed from years of running black ops to make sure nothing touches Alexandra. But with their lives on the line and the adrenaline running high, it’s inevitable that sparks will fly

•••••••

REVIEW:RIDE THE TIDE is the third full-length instalment in Julie Ann Walker’s contemporary, adult DEEP SIX romantic, suspense series focusing on a group of former Navy SEALs who currently own and operate a civilian marine salvage business. The DEEP SIX series is a spinoff from Julie Ann’s BLACK KNIGHTS INC series. This is thirty-five year old, former Navy SEAL Mason McCarthy, and twenty-seven year old, historian Alexandra ‘Alex’ Merriweather’s story line. Alexandra was first introduced in HELL OR HIGH WATER. RIDE THE TIDE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. There is an introductory novella HOT AS HELL that can be found in the May 2015 multi-authored anthology-WAY OF THE WARRIOR.

NOTE: The DEEP SIX series follows six former military or special ops agents who, upon retirement, set up their own business running secret missions behind the scenes. Searching for the wreck of the Santa Cristina near Wayfarer Island, the Deep Six team continues to encounter terrorists and pirates on their hunt for sunken treasure.

Told from several third person perspectives RIDE THE TIDE follows the Deep Six crew on their continued search for the Spanish galleon, the Santa Cristina, believed to have sunk in 1624 near Wayfarer Island in Florida Keys, but on this particular mission, the crew, along with feisty and talkative historian Alexandra Merriweather would find themselves, having been chased down and shot while searching at sea, the target of another unknown assailant. Rescued by the Coast Guard, leaving three dead men in their wake, Mason, Alexandra, Romeo, Wolf, Chrissy, Doc and Uncle John
would find no more security on land when, once again, their whereabouts and safety leaves much to be desired.

As the story line progresses, we are up close and personal with the yin and yang of the relationship between Ray ‘Wolf’ Roanhorse and dive shop owner Christina ‘Chrissy’ Szareck. The sexual tension is palpable but Chrissy refuses to give in to temptation, at least, for now.

Meanwhile, Alexandra Merriweather is focusing on our hero Mason McCarthy, a focus that reveals Alex’s attraction to Mason does not go unnoticed but Mason refuses to accept that he is worthy of love or a permanent relationship. Having loved and lost in the past, Mason struggles with his perception of Alex’s version of a happily ever after but it will be Mason who is unable to forget about the feisty woman who calls to his heart. Mason offers Alexandra one night together but the heart wants something more than he is willing to give. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to several members of Deep Six Salvage, most of whom are former military or Navy SEALs: Ray ‘Wolf’ Roanhorse, Spiro ‘Romeo’ Delgado, dive shop owner Christina ‘Chrissy’ Szareck, Uncle John Anderson (a cross between a ‘crusty sea dog and slack –ass hippie), and Deep Six Salvage co-owner Doc. The requisite evil has many faces.

RIDE THE TIDE is a story of betrayal, vengeance and retribution; relationships and love. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is provocative and tender; the characters are edgy, dynamic and flirty.

Twelfth Knight’s Bride by E. Elizabeth Watson – a Review

Twelfth Knight’s Bride by E. Elizabeth Watson – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / Book Depository

Description:
Lady Aileana Grant just wants to help her starving clan at Christmastide. So she pilfers some vegetables from the bastard Laird James MacDonald—the Devil, they call him. When the Devil shows up and demands marriage as recompense for the thievery, Aileana can’t believe it when her brother agrees. Even if she’s able to negotiate a severance on Twelfth Night, that’s still two weeks to put up with the laird in enemy territory. She’s counting down the days, even if James isn’t quite the disgusting cretin she’d imagined.

James needs to marry an enemy bride in order to inherit his fortune. Cursed restrictions. He’d been unable to look away from Aileana’s untamed beauty ever since she squared off with him. He might as well handfast with the infernal lass. He’d get his money and perhaps some peace among the clans. He has a fortnight to win the heart of the lady with the voice of an angel despite her sharp tongue.

Twelfth Night is merry and bright as Aileana and James realize a true connection between them. But when Aileana discovers the reason the Devil forced her into marriage, how can she ever believe he truly wants her?

Review;

I really enjoyed Twelfth Knight’s Bride by E. Elizabeth Watson.  I forgot how much I love being transported back into the Scottish Highlands and this story didn’t disappoint.  I couldn’t help but love both Lady Aileana and Laird James.  The two characters are just expertly written and pair well together.  As the story begins it’s very easy to want to side with Aileana and Clan Grant, but once we get to see and hear more of James and his Clan’s side of things you can’t help but want to root for both sides.  I found myself wanting for Aileana and James to be the catalyst for the bad blood between the two clans to end.

At first it seemed hopeless, but as the 2 spend more time together and listen to stories that affected both clans, they come to realize that this war between them has nothing to do with them anymore, and just maybe it can finally end. The slow progression to falling in love with each other was fun, flirty and steamy at times between Aileana and James. I liked that Ms. Watson took her time with these two and didn’t rush things, especially since Aileana wanted nothing to do with James in the first place. She only agreed to marriage to keep her Clan safe from Clan MacDonald, but the more time she spent with James and got to see another side of him she comes to realize he isn’t the ‘devil’ after all but someone who was done wrong by as well.  His gentle side towards Aileana, the children at Castle Tioram, the wild life is just to darned sweet and enduring.

One scene I particularly liked was when James brings back all that was stolen from Clan Grant and Aileana’s brother realizes that James is in fact in love with his sister.  The jabs that Laird Seamus tosses at James are quite amusing and we catch a glimmer of a truce beginning between the feuding Lairds.  However, my favourite scene would have to be when Aileana finally realizes that she is in fact in love with James and that he’s really in love with her, and the money in his inheritance means nothing to him because what he truly wants is her.  Yes the romantic in me was swooning a bit over this one.  I would have to say Ms. Watson has a winner on her hands with this one.  If you love being transported back in time to the Scottish Highlands and some sexy Highlanders, then this one’s for you.

Until next time, happy reading!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 17, 2020.

What if the life you had was a lie? That the virtuous person you tried to convince yourself you were, isn’t anything like the woman you are deep inside. What if the one person you thought could bring out the darkness inside you, fought hard to keep your light instead?

But then again, what if he’s fooling himself? What if I’m not so innocent, and he’s the one who should be scared…

Luring Light is a part of The Royal Bastards MC Author Collaboration and is book two in the Tampa, FL Series.

•••••••

REVIEW:LURING LIGHT is the second instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult ROYAL BASTARDS MC: Tampa. FL erotic, MC romance series, and the latest instalment in the multi-authored Royal Bastards MC series (RBMC). This is Royal Bastards MC: Tampa Fl VP Cade ‘Void’ Nixon, and Ivy ‘Toxin’ Perez’s story line. LURING LIGHT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading book one DEFINING DARKNESS for background and history as it pertains to Ivy and her sister Eva.

NOTE: LURING LIGHT contains scenes of D/s situations, erotic-asphyxiation, and situations that may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

SOME BACKGROUND: Months earlier, Ivy and her sister Eva were abducted from their home in Cuba and sold to a Mafia Don in Florida, but Royal Bastards MC: Tampa Fl president Nycto bought Ivy and Eva, and in the ensuing time Nycto fell in love with Eva, and Ivy worked for the RBMC.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ivy and Void) LURING LIGHT follows the building relationship between RBMC VP Cade ‘Void’ Nixon, and Ivy ‘Toxin’ Perez. Ivy Perez, alongside prospect Dash, work in the weed-processing lab for the RBMC but Ivy’s attraction to the club VP is tempered by Void’s darkness and distance, a darkness matched by our heroine’s own. A series of threats against our story line couple force Ivy and Void into hiding, but someone has tracked their movements and is determined to take back everything they lost. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ivy and Void, and the potential fall-out as Void’s past returns seeking redemption and retribution.

The relationship between Void and Ivy is one of mutual attraction but Void struggles with demons from his past, and refuses to place Ivy in possible danger. Ivy’s life has been difficult from the start but she is the perfect foil for our hero’s dark needs and complicated past. The $ex scenes are dramatic and intense.

We are reintroduced to Club president Nycto and Ivy’s sister Eva; prospect Dash, as well as Mafia Don Antonio DeLuca, his daughter Mia, and Tony’s brother Matteo.

LURING LIGHT is a story of betrayal, vengeance, redemption and love. The premise is edgy; the romance is startling; the characters are broken and impassioned.

But I want to address the unreality of a certain situation that to my knowledge is not possible or would never happen. Keeping the story line believable is not only paramount but necessary to keep the reader’s attention. I did some research, and not only would it not have happened but it would not be respectable or honored by the members of the MC or any affiliates there of.

ANTOINETTE
Axel Fontaine has a giant…
At least that’s what everyone says. Unfortunately, it’s true.
All. Of. It.
He’s dangerous, scary, and addictive. Without a doubt, the last person I should fall for is the VP of the Disciples MC.
I’m out of my league.
He’s a six-foot-four, blue-eyed biker god.
I’m an ex-ballerina turned stripper who should run away.
But how do you escape the one man who ignites your body and consumes your very soul?
Axel doesn’t do relationships. But I’m betting on ME to change his mind.

AXEL
I don’t do relationships. I don’t do drama, and I definitely don’t do love.
I’m not Prince Charming. I’m the VP of the Disciples and the club is my family.
The last thing I need is a violet-eyed enchantress who smells like candy and has some sort of voodoo chemistry that’s messing with my mind.
She needs to go.
She’s a distraction…a weakness I can’t have.
Men like me fall in lust, not love.
So, why is she still here?

REVIEW:  IGNITE is the fourth instalment in Cassandra Robbins’ contemporary, adult THE DISCIPLES erotic, MC romances series focusing on the members of the Disciples MC. This is thirty-three year old, club VP Mitchell ‘Axel’ Fontaine, and nineteen year old, ballerina Antoinette Van Doran’s story line. IGNITE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING : IGNITE contains strong language that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Axel and Antoinette) IGNITE follows Antoinette Van Doran as she struggles to make ends meet. Desperate for money, Antoinette auditions for a position as an erotic dancer at the Disciples owned Pussycat Club but her naivete and innocence is a target for the lecherous and cruel. Filling in for the Pussycat Club manager, the Disciples VP Mitchell ‘Axel’ Fontaine finds himself pulled towards our story line heroine, over protective and desperate to get her out of the life. What ensues is the highly sexual relationship between Axel and Antoinette, and the potential fall out as the past comes seeking revenge, focusing his anger on our story line heroine.

Axel doesn’t do relationships and in this struggles with his attraction and need for our story line heroine. Claiming ownership of Antoinette from the very start, Axel quickly discovers there is more to Antoinette than meets the eye. Antoinette Van Doran has been on her own for close to four years, and is struggling to make ends meet. One roommate disappears, while another is on a six month assignment, and Antoinette finds herself homeless with no place to live. A job as a stripper could earn Antoinette big money but Axel refuses to let Antoinette get up on stage.

The relationship between Axel and Antoinette is one of immediate attraction but Axel doesn’t do relationships and continues to reinforce the mantra at every chance he gets. Antoinette is slowly falling for the man that has claimed her heart but quickly discovers that Axel doesn’t feel the same, in return. The $ex scenes are aggressive, erotic, provocative and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters many of who we have me in previous story lines. Most of the MC is protective of our heroine but Axel’s enemies have placed a target on our story line heroine.

IGNITE is a gritty, impassioned and raw story of family, friendships, and love. The premise is intense ; the romance is tangible; the characters are dynamic and edgy

He’s pure adrenaline and smells like smoke and leather—the kind of guy you look at and know he’s going to be a combination of nasty and irresistible. The moment I allowed myself to touch his hot skin and kiss his full lips, I. Was. Done.

Like currency, I’ve become part of a transaction. Blade took me to pay off a debt. I try to tell myself, Eve, you should hate him. He’s a bad guy. But then again, I’m not a good girl. Blade’s the president of the Disciples, the notorious motorcycle club. I should be frightened, yet somehow, he doesn’t scare me. If anything, I think I scare him.

It takes a lot of work to become the club’s Queen, but I’ll stop at nothing to have the King!

Dolly and Edge’s $ex life is energetic, intense, and combative, and not without some questionable consent and furious passion.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, aggressive and dynamic secondary and supporting characters, most of whom we have met in previous story lines. We are introduced to Dolly’s friend Doug, and limo driver Robert.

REPENT is story of family and relationships; mistrust and miscommunication. The premise is dramatic and frenzied; the relationship is contentious and destructive; the characters are broken but struggling to heal.

BOUND BY FOREVER (True Immortality #3) by S. Young-Review Tour

BOUND BY FOREVER (True Immortality #3) by S. Young-Review tour

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Apple /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 17, 2020

Niamh Farren has been burdened by knowledge for most of her life. As one of seven fae children born into the human world with the ability to open the gate to Faerie, Niamh’s mission is to guide her fae brethren to do what’s right. Because Niamh has seen what will happen to the human world if she does not protect the gate. Throughout the years, she’s traveled the world with her brother Ronan, using her psychic visions to find the fae-borne and convince them to stay on the path that will keep the gate from opening. She has sacrificed much … but when she loses her brother to the mission, Niamh begins to lose herself.

For nearly one hundred and fifty years, werewolf Kiyo has wandered the planet as a lost soul. Cursed with immortality, he spends his awful eternity as a mercenary for hire. When the powerful Fionn Mór confides the truth about the existence of Faerie and hires Kiyo to protect one of the fae-borne, he accepts the challenge out of boredom, not heroism. Yet Niamh is unexpected in every way the werewolf can possibly imagine.

Guarding Niamh from her enemies is nowhere near as challenging as protecting the fae woman from herself. If Kiyo is to succeed, he must help Niamh find herself again, and not just for her sake. Ignoring the fierce connection between them may no longer be an option. A new enemy is rising and threatening to rip open the gate between worlds. To remind Niamh of who she really is, Kiyo must make the choice to lower his defenses and give into their bond. Or safeguard his own heart … and in doing so lead the human world to the brink of war.

REVIEW: BOUND BY FOREVER is the third instalment in S. Young’s (Samantha Young) contemporary, adult TRUE IMMORTALITY paranormal romance series. This is twenty-six year old, half –Fae/half human Niamh Farren, and one-hundred and seventy five year old, Japanese werewolf Kiyonari Fujiwara (aka Kiyo’s) story line. BOUND BY FOREVER can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is a running premise throughout. Kiyo and Niamh were first introduced in book two KISS OF VENGEANCE.

NOTE: Niamh is pronounced ‘Nev’.

SOME BACKGROUND: Years earlier, Aine, the Queen of the Fae banned all supernaturals from the Land of the Fae, and in doing so prophesied the birth of seven human/Fae hybrid children who would be the keys to the portal back to the land of the Fae. In an attempt to prevent the opening of the portal, a supernatural group of vampires and werewolves formed The Garm, whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill the seven hybrid Fae. Three are dead. These are the stories of the remaining four.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Niamh and Kiyo) BOUND BY FOREVER follows twenty-six year old, half –Fae/half human Niamh Farren in her struggles with blinding and crippling visions of the future, and her quest to remain hidden from The Garm, and a Coven of witches who believe Niamh killed several of their brothers and sisters. Niamh’s visions propel our heroine to act in defiance, acts that have placed Niamh under the watch of Fionn Mor, the former high king (turned Fae) of Ireland. Having revealed herself to the human world, Fionn hires powerful werewolf mercenary Kiyonari Fujiwara aka Kiyo, to protect our heroine but Niamh’s visions are about to pull our couple on a journey through Europe and Japan, placing them in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the slow building, slow burn romance and relationship between Kiyo and Niamh, and the potential fall-out as Kiyo’s return to Japan is met with a debt owed, and Niamh’s visions reveal more than she could have ever suspected.

Niamh and Kiyo are both powerful members of the supernatural. Kiyo is an immortal, something more than a lone rogue werewolf; and Niamh has powers beyond the normal Fae. With the ability to heal quickly, Niamh and Kiyo have faced their own deaths on numerous occasions but someone is desperate to tear them apart, and in doing so open the portal back to the land of the Fae.

The relationship between Niamh and Kiyo begins acrimoniously when Kiyo is hired to protect and secure our story line heroine. Niamh is more than capable of protecting herself but Niamh has revealed her existence to the world, and in doing so, revealed her whereabouts to The Garm and The Coven. Kiyo doesn’t do relationships and keeps secret his immortality to protect who and what he is. Meeting Kiyo stirs something deep within our story line hero, something he is unable to comprehend or understand. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Conall MacLennan, Alpha and Chief of Clan MacLennan,
(War of Hearts 1) Fionn Mor, and Rose Kelly (Kiss of Vengeance 2 ), IT specialist and vampire Bran; Japanese werewolf Alpha Sakura, her mate Daiki, several members of the Japanese Pack, and Astra, a Fae whose powers are beyond our story line heroine’s.

BOUND BY FOREVER is a story of vengeance and betrayal; power and control; relationships and fate. The slow building premise is imaginative and entertaining ; the characters are strong, intelligent and animated ; the romance is fated and spicy.

••••••••••

REVIEW:  KNIGHT’S ABSOLUTION is the fifth instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult KNIGHTS OF HELL erotic, dystopian, paranormal/fantasy romance series focusing on a group of demon hunters known as the Knights of Hell, warriors whose birth was ordained by the mating of angels and demons. This is dhampir Luna, and half-demon/half-angel Knight of Hell Gunner. KNIGHT’S ABSOLUTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: KNIGHT’S ABSOLUTION contains scenes of graphic violence that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from third person perspective KNIGHT’S ABSOLUTION follows the building relationship between dhampir Luna, and half-demon/half-angel Knight of Hell Gunner. Since the day Chaos’s mate Grace was rescued and returned by a mysterious stranger Gunner couldn’t stop thinking about the female he believed to be his mate but something or someone was holding her hostage in Hell, and it was Luna’s pain and suffering that Gunner felt every time he went to sleep. Rescuing Luna meant Gunner’s chance at his own happily ever after but Luna’s life had been filled with torture and pain, and Gunner would have to be patient with his new found mate. What ensues is the building relationship between Gunner and Luna, and the potential fall-out as Luna’s captor comes back for his prize.

Luna has never known anything but torture and pain since the day ‘Sir’ killed her mother, and took her and her brother Ronan hostage for their power, and his control. Believing dhampir’s were emotionless and without a heart, Luna had no idea t the overwhelming feelings and emotions that were about to take over her life with the man with whom she would fall in love. Gunner is a Knight of Hell, and along with his brothers, their nightly battle with Hell’s demons now meant protecting the woman that called to his heart but Gunner would quickly learn that Luna is not without some power of her own, and our heroine is determined to take down the man that destroyed her life.

Meanwhile, we learn a little more about the fate of former Knight of Hell Tobias, and his mate Scarlett, as well as Rocco’s missing mate Kyler. ‘Sir’ has been busy amassing a collection of prisoners, prisoners he tortures for his power and pleasure.

The relationship between Gunner and Luna is one of fated mates. Luna is naïve to many things yet well versed in others but her relationship with Gunner brings on new feelings and emotions, of which she struggles to understand and accept. Gunner knows immediately that Luna is his mate but our heroine needs time to heal and accept that she is now protected by the Knights, as one of their own. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic, language and text.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Chaya and Brent (Demons Temptation #3), Chaya’s sister Mia Westbrook and her demon hunting mate Zenon (Knight’s Salvation #2), Eve and Lazarus (Knight’s Redemption #1), Chaos and Grace (Knight’s Dominion #4), Kryos, Rocco, Silas, Tobias, James, as well as Lucifer, Diemos , Luna’s brother Ronan, and their captor ‘Sir’.

KNIGHT’S ABSOLUTION is a fast paced, dark and dramatic story line. The premise is emotional and powerful; the characters are impassioned and determined; the romance is fated and sensual. Another wonderful addition to Gray’s KNIGHTS OF HELL.
