ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 26, 2021

Public radio co-hosts navigate mixed signals in Rachel Lynn Solomon’s sparkling romantic comedy debut.

Shay Goldstein has been a producer at her Seattle public radio station for nearly a decade, and she can’t imagine working anywhere else. But lately it’s been a constant clash between her and her newest colleague, Dominic Yun, who’s fresh off a journalism master’s program and convinced he knows everything about public radio.

When the struggling station needs a new concept, Shay proposes a show that her boss green-lights with excitement. On The Ex Talk, two exes will deliver relationship advice live, on air. Their boss decides Shay and Dominic are the perfect co-hosts, given how much they already despise each other. Neither loves the idea of lying to listeners, but it’s this or unemployment. Their audience gets invested fast, and it’s not long before The Ex Talk becomes a must-listen in Seattle and climbs podcast charts.

As the show gets bigger, so does their deception, especially when Shay and Dominic start to fall for each other. In an industry that values truth, getting caught could mean the end of more than just their careers.

Sandys Review:THE EX TALK by Rachel Lynn Solomon is a multi-troped, contemporary, adult, romance story line focusing on twenty-nine year old, public radio producer Shay Goldstein, and twenty-four year old, journalist turned radio host Dominic Yun.

Told from first person perspective (Shay) THE EX TALK follows the building romance and relationship between twenty-nine year old, public radio producer Shay Goldstein, and twenty-four year old, journalist turned radio host Dominic Yun. Shay Goldstein was the fastest rising producer at Seattle’s Pacific Public Radio, and her weekly radio series ‘Puget Sounds’ was going great until it wasn’t. Her barely veiled hatred of newcomer and journalist Dominic Yun would become fodder for management, and in this, our couple would be forced to work together by the station manager or lose their jobs. Liking the ‘sparring’ and ‘vibe’ between our leading couple, it is suggested a series of podcasts focusing on relationships but more specifically on an ex-relationship, that never was. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Shay and Dominic, and the fall-out when the secrets and lies become public knowledge.

Shay Goldstein and Dominic Yun couldn’t have been more different, and working together to create a fake, former relationship draws the couple together but a mandatory weekend together finds our couple falling for one another, a fall that will hit rock-bottom when the truth is revealed. Developing a relationship that never was reveals one another’s relationship history, family, and future hopes and dreams.

The relationship between Shay and Dominic is a friends to enemies, forced fake relationship where the sexual tension is masked by the back and forth, yin and yang of jealousy and hate. Dominic, with a Master’s in Journalism, had just come off of a long term relationship, and our heroine was no longer looking for someone to love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The colorful secondary and supporting characters include Shay’s mother Leanna, and her fiancé Phil; Dominic’s parents Morris and Margot; misogynistic station manager Kent O’Grady; show host Paloma Powers; Shay’s best friend Ameena and her boyfriend TJ; junior producer Ruthie Liao.

THE EX TALK is an age-gap, multi-cultural, enemies to lovers, fake relationship story line. Rachel Lynn Solomon’s ability to slowly build the background and history of our leading couple is the ideal set up for a wonderful story that is sure to resonate to many readers. The character driver premise is engaging and imaginative ; the characters are quirky and sassy; the romance is tender and seductive.

Barb’s Review:
The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon is a delightful & fun romantic stand alone novel.  This is my first-time reading Solomon, and it will not be my last; as I loved The Ex Talk, which turned out to be a fun enjoyable read.

Shay Goldstein, our heroine, has worked as a producer on her Seattle Pacific Public radio station for 10 years.  Lately, Shay has been feeling a bit lonely, as her mom is remarrying, and her best friend is possibly moving to Virginia; but most of all, she finds herself annoyed and jealous of a newly hired colleague.

Dominic Yun, our hero, has only been with Pacific Public for three months, and keeps promoting his master’s degree, and how good he is.  It doesn’t hurt that he is cute, smart and arrogant. When he manages to interrupt her show with a scoop about the local mayor, Shay is not too happy, but management loves him.

At a team meeting, the boss tells his staff that the numbers are going down and they need some new ideas for the station.  Shay throws out a new concept; have a couple that are ex’s and talk about their issues, as well as help others calling in.  The boss loves the idea, and later to their surprise, he wants Dominic and Shay to pretend to be ex’s and do the show; since their constant demeaning of each other was perfect (fake enemies to lovers). Neither one of them is interested, until the boss tells them that there will be layoffs all around the station and if they won’t do this, they could be one of the layoffs.

What follows has both of them working together, especially in preparation as to questions about their fake relationship, and to be able to give advice live.  Shay at first wasn’t sure about her own voice, which she didn’t like, as she was always behind the scene as the producer, but when they go live that never became an issue.  In fact, the show went through the roof, with the show becoming an instant success. Everyone loved them together, with their constant bickering, fun and even sexy comments, as well as giving advice on various subjects.  In a short time, Dominic and Shay become closer, helping and learning more about their lives, which begins the start of a slow build romance.  I also loved Shay’s weird dog, Steve, who Dominic seemed to be able to handle him well.  There were some great secondary characters that were also great; Shay;s mom, her best friend, her assistant, Ruthie, and others from the studio.

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon was a fun, feel good story, that was also sexy, flirty and totally enjoyable.  When things fall apart at the end, we prayed that somehow Shay and Dominic would stay together.  Will they? You need to read the book to find out.  As I noted before, this was a fun, delightful story that is not to be missed.

“We still haven’t figured out why we broke up,” he says, leaning against the counter opposite the fridge.
“Maybe we should keep it simple. Working together and dating got to be too much for us?”
“That’s not very exciting,” he says. It’s fitting that we can’t agree. “Maybe you were intimidated by my raw sexual energy.”
I nearly choke on a sip of water—that’s how unexpected this is, coming from him.
But hey, I can play this game, too, especially with alcohol loosening my lips. “Or you were never able to get me to orgasm.”
“I’ve never had that problem before,” he says without missing a beat.
With just the two of us in this darkened space, I’m aware of how small the break room actually is. He shouldn’t have followed me in here. I could have climbed onto the counter and grabbed a glass myself because short people are nothing if not skilled counter climbers.
But then he wouldn’t be standing there in one of his Top Ten Most Infuriating Leans, eyeing me from beneath a truly impeccable pair of lashes.
The alcohol fully takes over. “So . . . we had a good sex life, then?”
One corner of his mouth kicks upward. “Maybe we weren’t having sex.”
Something horrific happens then: I let out this completely nonhuman sound, a mix between a snort and a laugh and a gulp. I shrink back until my shoulder blades hit the wall.
“What, you thought sleeping with me was a given?” he says. “Is my fictional self really that quick to put out?”
“Oh my god, no no no,” I say. “I was just—if we were dating for three months, then we probably—I mean, maybe we didn’t, but—”
He’s full-on smiling now, as though amused by my incoherent babbling. I bring the water glass to my face so I can hide behind it. My sweater is draped across my desk, and I’m too warm in a thin black T-shirt. He’s a six-three heat lamp.
“Shay,” he says in a low voice. Teasing. He inches closer, reaching forward to take the water glass away from my face and holding it level with my shoulder. “Honestly, I’m flattered.”
Then he taps the cold rim of the glass against my cheek gently, gently. A friendly little pat that sends my heart into overdrive. When he moves it away, I reach toward my face, holding a few fingers against the cold spot there.
His gaze is so intense that I have to close my eyes for a moment. My instinct is to back away, to put more space between us, but when I try, I’m reminded that I’m against the wall. I don’t know where to look. Normally, I’m level with his pectorals, but he’s hunched, the curve of his shoulders soft in this semi-light. Close enough to reach out and touch—if I wanted to. I watch the rise and fall of his chest. That’s safe. Safer than eye contact, at least.
I’ve never had that problem before.
“I’m glad, because I’m really wishing the floor would open up and suck me into the Hellmouth right now.”
“Buffy fan?”
“Oh yeah. I grew up with it. You?”
He at least has the decency to look sheepish. “Watched it on Netflix.”
Of course he did. He’s twenty-four, young enough to never have seen it live and sliced up by commercials. “By ‘grew up with it,’ I meant, you know, I was still very young during the early seasons, and I didn’t understand most of what was going on . . .” I break off with a groan, though I’m relieved the conversation has turned away from sex. “God, don’t make me feel like a grandma.”
A laugh from deep in his throat turns my legs to jelly. That rumble—I feel it in the last possible place I want to feel it.
It is deeply concerning.
That’s what catches me off guard, more than anything else tonight. I don’t want to think about doing anything with Dominic besides cohosting a show about our fake relationship. I don’t want to think about the way that rough laugh would sound pressed against my ear while other parts of him pressed against other parts of me.
And I really don’t want to imagine him holding that cold glass to my bare skin again.
I swallow hard, forcing away these delusions. Sober Shay would not be fantasizing about Dominic Yun when he’s right in front of her. My imagination is too creative, and my yearlong drought can’t be helping.
Dominic passes the glass back to me and straightens to his full height. Oh. It’s only then that I realize how easy it would have been for him to trap my hands over my head and push me against the wall, tell me with his mouth on my neck how journalism will save the world.
Of course, he doesn’t do any of this, opting instead to take a step back. Then two. At three steps, the temperature in the room dips. At four, I can breathe again.
“For what it’s worth,” he says when he’s halfway to the door, “I think it would have been good, too.”

••••••

REVIEW:REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE is the seventh instalment in Annie Rains’ contemporary, adult SWEETWATER SPRINGS romance series. This is veterinarian Dr. Chase Lewis, and boutique owner Sophie Daniels’ story line. REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Sophie and Chase) REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE follows the rekindling romance between former high school sweethearts veterinarian Dr. Chase Lewis, and boutique owner Sophie Daniels. Years earlier, at the age of eighteen, Chase and Sophie had planned a weekend mountain climbing but Chase backed out, and Sophie found herself in months of rehab following an accident that left our heroine clinging to life. Fast forward to present day wherein Chase, now the town’s new veterinarian, has returned home, and is hoping for a second chance with the woman he still loves but Sophie Daniels struggles with memories of the past, and continues to blame our hero for what happened years before. An injured puppy will bring our couple together but issues of trust and the battle to forgive will find Sophie and Chase at odds, once again. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Sophie and Chase, and the potential fall-out as a favor for a friend places our couple in a position that threatens their continuing issues of trust.

The relationship between Sophie and Chase is one of second chances. Former high school sweethearts torn apart by the immaturity of love, and Sophie’s inability to move on from the past. Chase was not to blame for the accident suffered by our story line hero but Sophie’s need to blame someone made Chase the perfect target for her misplaced anger and shame. There are no $ex scenes; the kissing is chaste; the romance is implied.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Chase’s sister-in-law Trisha, and her son Petey, both of whom are struggling in the wake of Chase’s brother’s white collar crimes; Chase’s new clinic assistant Nadine, and Comet, who is the perfect foil for a rekindling romance.

REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE is a story of family and friendships, second chances and love. The premise is sweet and heart warming; the romance is chaste; the characters are animated and flirty.

Tempting Prince Charming by Lauren Smith – a Review

Tempting Prince Charming by Lauren Smith – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple

Description:
This prince charming has the world at his fingertips.

Anything real estate mogul Thad Worthington wants, he gets—except true love.

Until one cold night when he meets a woman with a warm heart.

But his would-be princess has no desire to risk her heart for a second chance at a fairy tale, not when she’s already widowed and a single mother.

After one scorching kiss that leaves him changed forever, Thad won’t let his princess run from him.

When her wicked stepmother threatens to ruin this fairy tale, Thad is left holding a glass slipper and searching for the woman he can’t live without.

Review:

Tempting Prince Charming by Lauren Smith is a modern version of Cinderella, but definitely not a bedtime story for kids.

Thad has it all, money, charm and looks that will get him anything he wants (and a few things he doesn’t) ? a head for business and a body that looks in a suit. But sometimes he just wants to lose himself, be just an average Joe. And singing is his one escape, that and playing his guitar. But he only plays for himself……

Veronica loves her little coffee shop, it’s her rock in a stormy sea of grief. It helped her find her feet after she lost her husband and Lyra’s father (Lyra is her daughter) Parker. But it hurts to think of him, but tonight after a customer of the coffee shop sang in their open mic night, it brought the hurt to the surface, love is not an option for her, it hurts too damn much!!

I loved this story, it was a simple story, but beautifully written. I’ve read a few of Lauren’s books and I’ve never been disappointed.

Thad sees something in Veronica that he’s not seen before, an honesty and vulnerability that makes me want to discover more.

I did have to chuckle at the description of Thad, all I could see was Chris Hemsworth (in his Thor costume?) but the visual only enhanced my enjoyment of this book. Veronica made my heart ache, a widow dealing with loss, a young daughter and a job. Her determination to keep Thad at arms length made sense, but everyone needs a little love.

The secondary characters were great, Zelda who worked in the coffee shop had a wicked sense of humour. Thad’s friend Jared was just great. And Lyra was just so cute, asking Alexa for a daddy.

A man finding a love that he didn’t ever think he would find, someone that would like him as he is and not for the money he has!! But convincing Veronica is not going to be easy. He understands about loss, but he wants to love her like she deserves.

A woman who can’t bear the thought of losing someone she lives ever again. It’s better to keep your heart hidden, not out in the open where it can get smashed! But we have a fly in the ointment…. Veronica’s stepmother, she wants both her stepdaughter and Lyra out of the house/coffee shop, she’s going up sell it from under Veronica. They have never got on, she is the quintessential wicked stepmother!! And when Veronica finds out who the buyer is…..

This was the second book in her Ever After series, but you don’t need to read the first one. This stands on its glass slipper with no help whatsoever.

And one final word…… I WANT TO GO TO DISNEY ?

Her first day, though, she realizes this is no ordinary office—and her handsome new boss is no ordinary man.

Except, his new office assistant is anything but. Grace is carefree, artsy, and doesn’t know a thing about dogs. The woman has pet chickens! She’s also funny, kind, and the best part of his day.

Grace is his complete opposite—and completely refreshing. But when her month of temp work is over, she could disappear from his life for good. Sawyer realizes he has just one chance to try to change their fate.

Review:

Just One Kiss by Traci Hall is a sweet romantic stand alone novel.  We meet our heroine Grace Sheldon, who is a freelance photographer, while on the beach trying take pictures of a robin hatching babies. Alone comes a dog, who falls all over her, licking away, only to break her camera; Grace looks up at a man (who is a hunk) calling out to the dog.

Sawyer Rivera, our hero, apologizes and offers to buy a new camera for Grace and the two of them get off on the wrong foot.  Sawyer is a well-known dog trainer, and has just bought a house next door to Grace, and plans on opening a dog training facility, using veterans to help build the place.  Grace does not know who Sawyer is, though her friend tells her that he is famous; to her surprise, she had accepted temp work, and it seems it is at Sawyer’s business.  Grace owes money on the house her deceased grandmother left her, and needs to save money; forcing her to accept the job.

When Grace begins to work at the facility, she is distant with Sawyer, who tries to make her feel welcome.  Sawyer finds that he is attracted to Grace, but has his own rules not to date any employee.  Grace is a free spirit and independent, and Sawyer is the complete opposite, being a military man.  In a short time, both Sawyer and Grace kiss and realize there is something between them, but both are determined to keep it just friends; especially with Sawyer’s ex trying to sabotage his career, and Grace saddled with trying to save her home.  I did enjoy the time at the facility with the wonderful dogs that Sawyer had, the veterans who would become part of the business and the time spent with Violet (autistic daughter of Grace’s friend, Lottie) training the dog how to react to her.

What follows is a quick, lighthearted, fun, sweet pure romance. I liked Sawyer and Grace, but throughout most of the story, the chemistry wasn’t there; though as we closer to the end, it did perk up. Just One Kiss was well written by Traci Hall, and if you enjoy a clean sweet fun romance, with wonderful secondary characters and dogs, I suggest you read this book.

••••••••

REVIEW:COLE is the sixth and final? instalment in Eden Summers’ contemporary, adult HUNTING HER erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on a tight knit group of illegally connected friends. This is the continuing story of crime lord Cole Torian and, FBI agent Anissa Fox’s story line. COLE should not be read as a stand alone- Cole and Anissa’s story started in book three TORIAN. I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there are several recurring and ongoing themes throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: Approximately two years earlier Penny Decker , Sebastian Decker’s sister (Decker #2) disappeared and had been held captive in Greece, as a sexual slave along with several other women, by crime lord Luther Torian. Luther Torian is the estranged father of Cole Torian (Torian #3 & Cole #6) and Keira Torian (Decker #2). In book four SAVIOR, Penny, along with the other women were rescued and brought back to safety in the USA but trouble has followed everyone home.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Cole and Anissa) COLE continues to focus on the acrimonious relationship between crime lord Cole Torian and, FBI agent Anissa Fox. Cole and Anissa’s time together in Greece found our couple at odds upon their return to America. Anissa was working undercover but in the end, Anissa remains an FBI agent, and struggles with her attraction to a man who could end her career, and her life, without hesitation. Cole Torian fell in love with our story line heroine but battles between head and heart knowing her allegiance to law enforcement, a fellow Agent, and the history of Anissa with one of his men but all is for naught when two small children with connections to their ‘family’ are abducted, and Cole is forced to make a decision to save the children or his relationship with the woman he loves. What ensues is the building but tempestuous relationship between Cole and Anissa, and the potential fall-out as Cole must come to terms with the woman he loves, and Anissa must choose between the future and her past.

Anissa Fox knows that to get involved with Cole Torian would mean the end of her FBI career but the heart wants something it cannot have, and in this Anissa continues to push away the man with whom she has fallen in love. To complicate matters, Anissa is seen as a liability by Cole Torian’s men, a liability that is better off dead, and buried along with the ‘family’s’ other secrets. Cole Torian wants Anissa Fox at all costs including the respect of the men he commands but the abduction of two young children has prioritized Cole’s current timeline, and in this Cole refuses to have any more deaths placed in his hands.

The relationship between Cole and Anissa is a sexually charged, palpable, impassioned affair fuelled by Anissa’s back and forth, up and down reaction to our story line hero. There is another man after our heroine’s heart, and in this Cole’s jealousy threatens all semblance of control. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including all the previous story line couples: Luke and Sarah (Hunter #1) Decker and Keira (Decker #2 Luca and Penny (Savior #4 & Luca #5), Benji and Layla, and their daughter Stella; Cole’s brother Tobias, as well as Mafia head Emmanuel Costa, his sons Salvatore and Remy, and his daughter Abri.

COLE is a story of family, betrayal and vengeance; power and control; relationships, friendships, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is action packed, tense and intriguing; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are strong, energetic, dynamic and lost. COLE ends on a happily ever after-for now- but the author leaves the story line open ended and the announcement of a spin off series with cameos from some of the Hunter Her characters.

Review:

The Little Grave by Carolyn Arnold is the 1st book in her new Detective Amanda Steele series. I have been a big fan of Arnold, having read most of her series.  After completing The Little Grave, I am thrilled to say this series could be the best one yet.  I loved this book and its wonderful heroine, Amanda Steele.

Amanda Steele, our heroine, is a homicide detective in Dumfries, Virginia Police Department. Amanda tragically lost her daughter and husband to a horrific car accident over 5 years ago, and to this day, she cannot get past the nightmares and deep grief that still haunts her. Amanda is very good at her job, and hides the fact that she needs to get illegal Xanax pills to help get her through each day; she also is distanced from her family, unable to see them.

Amanda is called to the scene of a possible suicide, only to discover the dead man is the drunk driver who killed her family. Though she is told not to be on this case, which is personal, Amanda discovers some clues that make it look more like murder.  Amanda pleads with her boss to be part of this investigation, even accepting a rookie detective, who becomes her partner. Her boss does require her to have an alibi for the time period of the victim’s death, which means Amanda needs to find the one night stand she had the night before, something she has being doing for a while to block out her grief.

What follows is an exciting, intriguing, pulse pounding mystery that had so many twists and turns, keeping me glued to my kindle.  Amanda begins to discover different clues, especially of a cold case that the victim may have been part of.  She finds a hidden clue as part of a bracelet worn by the victim, bringing in different departments to investigate a pedophile ring, which has been going on for years.  To say too much more would be spoilers, and this was a great story that needs to be read from start to finish.

The Little Grave was an excellent crime thriller that was suspenseful, intense, and kept us guessing to the end. The cold case brings out the people involved in the ring, but who killed the victim.   I really liked Amanda, as she made a great heroine, and also liked her new partner.  The Little Grave was so very well written by Carolyn Arnold, and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us in future books of the The Detective Amanda Steele series.  If you like mystery thrillers, police procedural, then you need to be reading this book.

REVIEW:DEVIANT PRINCE is the first instalment in the contemporary, adult BRATVA MAFIA TWINS dark, erotic, Mafia, romance duet. This is Mafia prince Alexander Vasiliev, and Marisha Volotov’s story line.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Alexander and Marisha) DEVIANT PRINCE follows the forbidden relationship between. Mafia prince Alexander Vasiliev, and Marisha Zolotov. Marisha Zolotov is married to a member of the Russian underworld but a marriage steeped in abuse and power. Having lost her entire family for betrayal against the Pakhan, the Boss, Marisha is currently ‘serving her time’ married to a man who treats her no better than a sexual slave. Meeting Mafia prince, and heir to the Russian crown Alexander Vasiliev, stirs something Marisha long thought dead and buried but Alexander wants to claim Marisha as his own. As they begin an illicit but secret affair, Alexander bides his time until Marisha’s husband takes matter into his own hands. What ensues is the forbidden sexual relationship between Marisha and Alexander, and the potential fall-out as Marisha’s husband discovers that true depth of his wife’s betrayal.

The relationship between Alexander and Marisha is taboo and verboten; Marisha is married to a member of Alexander’s father’s Bratva but Alexander is about to take control where his father had failed. Marisha knows the power of the Bratva-their notoriety for killing, and their inability to forgive when deceived. Having survived the massacre of her entire family, Marisha has gone from one prison to another, and her affair with Alexander is about to threaten her barely controlled existence with a brutal man. Alexander Vasiliev wants what he cannot have but Alexander refuses to be forced into an arranged marriage, and falling for the wife of a marked man, only adds fuel to Alexander’s already burning desire. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense.

We are introduced to Alexander’s parents, and current reigning couple of the Russian Bratva- Eduard and Evelina Vasiliev; Alex’s twin sister Katya, as well as his best friend and right hand man Nikolai ; Marisha’s husband Ivan Volotov, and their chauffeur Decatur. Katya’s story line is next in Twisted Princess.

DEVIANT PRINCE is a story of family and power; betrayal and vengeance; trust and letting go. The premise is dark and haunting; the romance is provocative and edgy; Alexander is unabashed, determined and confident; the heroine struggles to live the life she has been forced to live.

REVIEW: GIMME S’MORE is the sixth and final? instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult HOT CAKES erotic, romance series focusing on the new owners and investors in the Hot Cakes snack company in Appleby, Iowa (Aiden, Dax, Cam, Ollie and Grant). This is video game developer and writer Oliver Caprinelli, and PA Piper Barry’s story line. GIMME S’MORE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

SOME BACKGROUND: Aiden, Dax, Cam, Ollie and Grant designed and sold a video game that left the best friends businessmen millionaires. With nothing to do the group bought the faltering Hot Cakes snack company in Cam and Aiden’s hometown of Appleby, Iowa saving the town in the process. These are their stories.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Piper and Oliver) GIMME S’MORE follows the friends to lovers relationship between video game developer and writer Oliver Caprinelli, and PA Piper Barry. For five years Piper Barry has been the PA for our story line heroes but in the last two years, Piper fell in love with Oliver Caprinelli, a man who struggled with a direction in life. When the five friends sold their controlling interest in their online game Warriors of Easton, Ollie remained connected, writing a series of stories and adventures for the new owners and company but Ollie found himself the odd-man out as each of his friends started to fall in love, and in this our hero was oblivious to the woman who more or less did everything in his life. Enter PA Piper Barry, and the woman with whom Oliver would fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Oliver and Piper, and the potential fall-out when Piper realizes that she may have been more of a hindrance than a help.

Oliver Caprinelli struggles with the day to day activities of normal life, and keeping his attention on the task at hand, and is unknowingly dependent upon their current PA but Piper is about to hand in her resignation, and in doing so, profess her love to a man who is blind to his PA’s attempts to attract his attention. Quickly realizing that he knows nothing about the woman with whom he will fall in love, Oliver will work side by side with our story line heroine as she endeavors to set up a camp ground for local kids.

The relationship between Oliver and Piper begins as a professional arrangement but two year earlier Piper fell madly in love with Oliver Caprinelli, and quickly realized that our hero was easily distracted by the world around him. In an effort to prove she was deserving, Piper walked away from the job that she loved, only to ask for two weeks to show Oliver that she was worthy of love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

All of Oliver’s business partners play secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Alpaca farmer Drew Ryan, and several local teens who help out on weekends at the campground.

GIMME S’MORE is an enchanting story of friends and family; relationships and love. The character driven premise is inviting, fun and refreshing; the romance is flirty, sassy and sexy- the palpable sexual attraction is electric; the characters are spirited, and dynamic.

The guys were going to kill him.
Ollie scrubbed a hand over his face.
They wouldn’t be surprised, of course. But they were going to be pissed.
They’d all known that Piper quitting was a risk and that one day she’d probably wise-up and lose her patience and that would be it.
They’d also all known that when it happened there was a 90 percent chance it would be because of Ollie.
The other 10 percent chance was that it would be because of Ollie and Dax together.
And now it had finally happened.
If it came down to choosing between him and Piper, he wasn’t sure he wanted to know how that debate would end up. Or how short the discussion would be before they decided they wanted and needed her more.
That was only one of the reasons he hadn’t told them yet.
The other was because he was still processing the part where she’d said she loved him.
What was he supposed to do with that?
She wasn’t just supposed to say that out loud right to him, was she? He had not been expecting that. The guys and their girlfriends had insinuated for a while now that Piper might have a crush on him but no, he hadn’t expected her to ever say anything herself.
It was a might have. A crush. Okay, they were adults and maybe adults didn’t have crushes exactly, but everything anyone had said suggested that it was just that Piper thought he was interesting at times and that she didn’t hate spending time with him.
But a crush wasn’t love. For fuck’s sake.
And it had to be Piper?
Piper Barry was amazing. She was gorgeous. She was smart. She was capable. She could do anything. She was funny and sweet and sassy and tough.
She was intimidating as hell.
What was he supposed to do with her now?
What was he supposed to do without her now?
Well, the solution seemed pretty obvious. She’d basically given him the answer herself—I can’t be in love with you and work for you. And the only one of those two things I can change is the working for you part.
So he needed to get her to not be in love with him anymore. Then she’d come back to work and all would be fine.
Now he just had to get her to realize she could do a hell of a lot better than him.
Of course, he’d been a pain in her ass for five years now. If that didn’t do it, he wasn’t sure what would.
