Isobel decides to go to him in London, channeling her powers of seduction to make him beg to take her back. But she didn’t expect her marauding marquess to be equally hard to resist. Now the game is on to see who will give in to the other first, with both sides determined like hell to win.

Review:

The Rakehell of Roth begins with the Marquess of Roth, Winter Vance just having married Lady Isobel.  After their wedding, Winter takes Isobel to his ancestral home instead of his private estate.  Isobel was nervous during the trip and even more once they arrived at their destination.  When the time came to consummate their marriage, to say she was consumed by Winter is an understatement.  As she drifted to sleep, she knew she was in love with her new husband.

Three long years had passed since that fateful night.  Three long years since she had seen her husband.  The morning after their wedding night, Isobel woke to find out that Winter had left her behind and gone back to London.  Not totally alone though.  His father, the Duke of Roth lived there as well.  Unfortunately, Winter and his father had a very rock relationship.  Thankfully, her best friend, Clarissa came to live there as well.   Due to Winter’s reputation, and seemingly infinite line of women in his life, Isobel was doomed to constantly have to read of his scandalous behavior in the papers.

When the Duke returned home after a trip, he informed Isobel that they were going to London for the season.  Isobel had tried repeatedly to see Winter but he always denied her an audience, but the Duke was insistent, so go to London they did.

Winter had cultivated his fake reputation as a rake.  So much so that even after his marriage, women still sought his company.  He never partook, as it were.  He also found himself, more than once, wondering about Isobel.  He had sworn he would never fall in love and marry.  He was starting to wonder about the former and had reasons for the latter.  However, nothing surprised him more than when Isobel sauntered into his home to announce that she was in town for the season.

The Rakehell of Roth is a nicely written story.  The characters are relatable and the world that Howard has built pulls you in.  I enjoyed Isobel’s determination to do well with her situation and her independent streak.  It took me a minute to warm up to Winter.  Once his backstory is revealed, you’ll more than  cut him a little slack.  The secondary characters are well written as well.  If I’m being honest though, I felt that the back and forth between Isobel and Winter went on a little too long before they finally admitted their feelings for each other.  For me, that part was a bit of a letdown.  However, the story itself was very good.  If you’re a fan of the genre, you will certainly enjoy the story.  Well done, Amalie Howard!

REVIEW:TWISTED PRINCESS is the second instalment the contemporary, adult BORN TO DARKNESS-BRATVA TWINS erotic, dark, Mafia duet co-authored by Claire C Riley and Ellie Meadows. This is Bratva Mafia princess Katya Vasiliev, and Bratva soldier and her brother’s best friend / right hand man Nikolai Markov’s story line. TWISTED PRINCESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Katya and Nikolai) with an epilogue in third person, TWISTED PRINCESS follows the tempestuous relationship between Bratva Mafia princess Katya Vasiliev, and Bratva soldier, and her brother’s best friend and right hand man Nikolai Markov. Nikolai Markov and Alexander Vasiliev have been best friends for most of their lives but Alexander found love with Marisha Zolotov, leaving Nikolai lost without his wingman for wild nights of drunken debauchery but Nikolai’s contempt for Alexander’s twin sister Katya Vasiliev barely masks a palpable sexual attraction that burns hotter than the sun on their vacation in the Fiji Islands. A family vacation is about to turn deadly when Katya quickly discovers that her father has arranged the introduction of several men in an effort to marry off our heroine to the highest bidder. Refusing to abide by her father’s orders, Katya runs off with our story line hero only to place Nikolai in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the back and forth, impassioned and intense relationship between Nikolai and Katya, and the potential fall-out as Katya will be forced into marriage with a man she does not love.

Katya Vasiliev is a bit of an spoiled, wild child, and in this she is out to prove she doesn’t need any man to control her life but Katya’s father is about to arrange a marriage in an effort to tighten his hold on the Bratva crown, and our heroine refuses to tow the line for the sake of the family. Nikolai Markov has always considered himself a part of the Vasiliev family but hateful words spoken in anger place Nikolai firmly in the position of soldier and guard. Having never considered about his own happily ever after, Nikolai is blindsided by the jealousy and rage he feels towards not only his best friend but the woman with whom he will fall in love.

The relationship between Nikolai and Katya is a best friend’s sister/ enemies to lovers wherein Nikolai struggles to control his attraction to his best friend’s twin sister. Both stubborn to the end, Nikolai and Katya are infuriatingly passionate in their anger and their lust for one another, lust that is about to threaten our story line hero. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and aggressive.

The colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters include Bratva Crown prince Alexander Vasiliev and his fiancé Marisha Zolotov; Katya and Alexander’s parents, and current reigning couple of the Russian Bratva- Eduard and Evelina Vasiliev; and several suitors for Katya’s hand in marriage.

TWISTED PRINCESS is a story of family, power, perception and control; relationships and friendships; entitlement and provocation; acceptance and love. The premise is provocative and edgy; the romance is energetic and intense; the characters are spirited and impassioned.

Four Weddings and a Swamp Boat Tour by Erin Nicholas-Review Tour

Four Weddings and a Swamp Boat Tour (Boys fo the Bayou 6) by Erin Nicholas-Review & Excerpt Tour

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Chapters Indigo / Google Play

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 23, 2021

She’s been proposed to five times.
Five.
She even said yes to one of them.
And then broke his heart when she called it off. Not to mention her mother’s heart. And her grandmother’s. And his mother’s. And…you get the picture.

Paige Asher has now officially sworn off all dating. Diamonds give her hives.

All she wants is to be a yoga-doing, cat-collecting, vegetarian in peace. Away from her marriage-crazy family and all their expectations.

So when her weekend fling turns into a real friend and offers her a place to escape, she finds herself on his doorstep in Louisiana. And right in the middle of not just one family wedding, but three. Of course.

Charming, sexy bayou boy Mitch Landry gets stuff done. Whatever anyone needs. From alligator-sitting to getting a buddy drunk to showing a woman a good time to fixing a swamp boat, he’s the man. No problem. No drama.

But he wants a hell of a lot more from Paige than a temporary friends-with-benefits arrangement. He wants to take care of her. And her five cats. He also really wants other men to stop asking her to marry them.

But if a roommate and a few orgasms are all she wants, that’s what he’ll deliver.

He can just be her friend and not commit the greatest sin of all…asking her for forever.

Probably.

REVIEW:FOUR WEDDINGS AND A SWAMP BOAT TOUR is the sixth instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU erotic, romance series. This is twenty two year old yoga instructor Paige Asher, and twenty-seven year old, handyman Mitch Landry’s story line. FOUR WEDDINGS AND A SWAMP BOAT TOUR can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading OH, FUDGE book five in the author’s HOT CAKES series where Paige and Mitch’s story begins.

Told from third person perspective FOUR WEDDINGS AND A SWAMP BOAT TOUR picks up six months after the events of OH, FUDGE, a story line where Louisianan Mitch Landry goes in search of Iowa born Paige Asher, his one night stand from months earlier but Paige has no desire for marriage, having been proposed to four times already, and in this Paige doesn’t do relationships or happily ever after. Sending Mitch home with his tail between his legs, Paige will receive, yet another, marriage proposal sending her back into the arms of our story line hero. Looking for a place to stay for the next few months, Paige moves in with Mitch in New Orleans, , the man with whom she will fall in love but Paige doesn’t expect to fall in love with the Louisiana born Landrys, a family she desperately hopes will love her in return. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Paige and Mitch, and the potential fall-out as Mitch desperately tries but fail to keep his distance from our story line heroine.

Paige Asher landed at Mitch Landry’s front door unannounced, and with no expectations of the future but Mitch’s family had other plans until our hero set them straight about scaring off the woman with whom he would fall in love. Working part-time with the Boys of the Bayou Swamp Tours, Paige would become fast friends with the Landry clan, unexpectantly volunteering to plan three of their upcoming weddings. Mitch Landry knows that to push Paige Asher could mean the end of their growing relationship but Mitch never expected his family to welcome Paige as one of their own, and in doing so, place our heroine in the direct line of fire for family get togethers, and upcoming events including wedding and babies.

The relationship between Mitch and Paige began as a one night stand that soon turned into something more when Mitch went in search of the woman who ghosted him the next morning. Never expecting to fall in love, Mitch sat back and watched the woman with whom he would fall in love, fall in love with his family first. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The camaraderie between characters is flirty, sassy and fun. Erin Nicholas pulls the reader into a story of family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is entertaining and enjoyable; the characters are energetic, lively and spirited; the romance is seductive and hot.

Goodnight, Paige,” he finally said.
“Goodnight, Mitch.”
They still just stood looking at each other.
“You need to go to your room,” he said, his voice a little tight.
“I will. You too.”
“Yeah, but—” He sighed. “You’re right by my door.”
She looked at the closed bedroom door again. And smiled. “I guess I am.”
She didn’t want to torture the guy. He was trying to be noble. Or something. But she wouldn’t deny that she liked that resisting her would be difficult.
“You need to move away from my bedroom door, Paige.” His voice was a little gruffer.
“You’re in my way of getting to my bedroom too,” she pointed out.
“But are you tempted to throw me over your shoulder and say to hell with all of your good intentions? Already? Within twenty minutes of deciding you even have good intentions?”
She laughed even as warmth filled her. Not just heat. Not lusty heat anyway. But a feel-good warmth that she didn’t quite understand. But she liked it. “Kind of.”
He swallowed hard. Then said, “Go to bed, Paige.”
She moved to the right, away from his door. As he came forward, she playfully pressed her back against the far wall.
He smiled, in spite of himself, and went to his bedroom door. He twisted the knob but paused and looked over at her.
She inched her way toward her bedroom, still against the wall. When she got to her door she reached for the knob and shot him a smile. “Goodnight, Mitch.”
“’Night.”
“And I’m just right here if you have any night time needs. Bad dreams.” She paused. “Good dreams.”
“Stop it.”
“Stop what? Just being a good friend.” She grinned.
“My dreams might include white dresses and tuxes,” he warned.
Again, no sense of oh shit. Instead she tipped her head. “You’re pretty good at bringing all of that up without asking the four-word question.”
He didn’t comment on that. “See you in the morning.”
“Okay.” She gave him another smile, then slipped into her room, feeling his eyes still on her until the door shut.
She slumped against it, pressing her hand to her stomach.
Dammit. She really liked him.
It was really too bad they weren’t going to kiss anymore.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Erin Nicholas has been writing romances almost as long as she’s been reading them. To date, she’s written over thirty sexy, contemporary novels that have been described as “toe-curling,” “enchanting,” “steamy,” and “fun.” She adores reluctant heroes, imperfect heroines, and happily ever afters.

Erin lives in the Midwest, where she enjoys spending time with her husband (who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books), her kids (who will never read the sex scenes in her books), and her family and friends (who claim to be “shocked” by the sex scenes in her books).

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 23, 2021

Scarlett

Cristiano is my enemy. He’s also the only man with whom I’ve ever felt safe. Protected.

But I have to remember that he married me with one purpose in mind. Revenge. I would be the bridge to his real enemies.

I can’t let myself forget that he isn’t the hero of this story. His hands are covered in blood. I saw that with my own eyes.

Cristiano

I thought I knew Scarlett’s past, but I didn’t know anything.

I thought I knew the worst of monsters, but I hadn’t seen anything yet.

Sometimes you have to lie to yourself to survive.

Sometimes it’s those closest to you who will bury their knives in your back.

Too many times it’s the innocents who pay for your mistakes. For your refusal to see.

I can’t let Scarlett pay for mine.

But I may be too late to stop it.

REVIEW:I THEE TAKE is the second instalment in Natasha Knight’s contemporary, adult TO HAVE TO TO HOLD dark, erotic Mafia romance series focusing on on twenty-two year old, Scarlett De La Cruz, and twenty-seven year old,Cristiano Grigori, one of the few surviving members of the Grigori crime family. I THEE TAKE should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one WITH THIS RING.

SOME BACKGROUND: Scarlett De La Cruz is payment for a debt, and her life is forfeited to Cristiano Grigori. Becoming Cristiano’s bride meant our heroine was now under the control of the Grigori family but all is not well in the Grigori family dynamic.

WARNING: I THEE TAKE contains graphic scenes of violence, abuse, rape, human trafficking and numerous triggers that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Cristiano and Scarlett) I THEE TAKE picks up immediately after the events of book one WITH THIS RING in which Cristiano Grigori has been betrayed by someone from within the family, and the woman with whom he will fall in love is the ultimate target of pain and revenge. Cristiano lost most of his family years before but he begins to question the loyalty of the remaining few, and in this the safety of Scarlett is his primary goal leaving our ‘anti-hero’ exposed and fighting for his life. As Scarlett comes to terms with the inevitability of her own life, our heroine discovers that she is the ultimate prize in a game of revenge and payback against the man she now loves.

Most of the previous story line characters return including Cristiano’s brother Dante, and their uncle David; Italian Mafia head Marcus Rinaldi; attorney Charlie Lombardi; Mafia soldier Alec; house manager Lenore; and Scarlett’s younger brother Noah.

Like the first instalment, I THEE TAKE is a dark, intense, gritty and dramatic story of betrayal and revenge, power and control, love, loss, revelations and love. Natasha Knight pulls the reader into a nightmare of danger, deceit and deception; force, dominance, and ascendancy; of redemption, retribution, honor and love. I THEE TAKE ends on a happily ever after-for now but the author leaves many open ended plot lines that are most likely to be addressed in future story lines.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 19, 2021

Five years ago, my fiancé disappeared. He left me with a wedding dress I’d never wear. Left me with the kind of scars that can’t be healed. The man I built my future on vanished like a ghost. All that remained were my broken heart and unanswered questions.

Until a mysterious stranger arrives in town.

Tall, dark, and dangerous, Kage is as full of secrets as he is sex appeal. Though I know he’s hiding something, I’m drawn to him like a moth to flame.

The intensity of our connection is addictive, unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. Heat crackles between us with every look, desire flares into passion, and I fall hard, unable to resist.

But when I discover how he’s tied to the darkness in my past, I learn what happens when you fly recklessly into fire:

You get burned.

REVIEW:RUTHLESS CREATURES is the first instalment in JT Geissinger’s contemporary, adult QUEENS AND MONSTERS erotic, Mafia, romance series. This is second in command Kage Porter, and middle school art teacher Natalie Peterson’s story line.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise including violence and BDSM sexual play, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspective (Natalie and Kage) RUTHLESS CREATURES follows the building relationship between second in command Kage Porter, and middle school art teacher Natalie Peterson. Five years earlier Natalie Peterson’s fiancé David walked out of her life the day before their wedding, and in the ensuing time our heroine struggled to move on with her life. Fast forward to present day wherein a dark and brooding sexy stranger moves in next door, and declares our heroine his for the taking. Enter Kage Porter, the man with whom Natalie will fall in love but everything about Kage Porter is built upon a secret and a lie, and in this, our heroine is a target and a pawn in a much larger game. What ensues is the building relationship between Kage and Natalie, and the potential fall-out when Kage reveals the truth.

Kage Porter is a man with numerous secrets, many of them he has reluctantly revealed to the woman with whom he has fallen in love but with that love comes threats of a different nature when Kage refuses to complete an assignment, an assignment involving our story line heroine. Natalie Peterson has mourned the disappearance of her fiancé for close to five years, and never thought she would fall in love with another man but something about Kage Porter draws Natalie like a moth to flame, a moth who is about to get burned in more ways than one.

The relationship between Natalie and Kage is predicated upon a number of lies. Kage reveals a little bit about the darkness that surround our story line hero but not enough to forewarn Natalie that her life as she knows it is about to come to a screeching halt. Kage Porter fell hard for our story line heroine, and in this, his love for Natalie could mean the end of both of their lives. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense with scenes of spanking, bondage, anal and oral $ex.

We are introduced to Natalie’s best friend Sloan; local police officer Chris; as well as several members of the Russian and Irish mob. Sloan’s story is next.

RUTHLESS CREATURES is an imaginative, fast paced, intriguing and wonderful story of secrets and lies, power and control, betrayal and vengeance. The premise is dark, raw and gritty,; the romance is provocative, seductive and edgy; the characters are sassy, lively, spirited and dynamic. RUTHLESS CREATURES is an exhilarating start to the author’s QUEENS AND MONSTERS erotic, Mafia, romance series.

I recall my first impression of him when I saw him at the bar last night, how I told Sloane he looked like he walked off the set of Sons of Anarchy, and understand on a cellular level that the man sitting across from me is someone for whom the normal rules of society don’t apply.
I also understand that he’s dangerous.
And that he wants me but doesn’t want to.
And that I want him, too, but shouldn’t.
Because people who stick a hand too close to a lion’s mouth will come away with a bloody stump where that hand used to be.
The waiter arrives. Kage sends him away with a royally dismissive flick of his fingers, never taking his gaze off me.
When he’s gone, Kage says, “So your fiancé disappeared. And for the next five years, on every anniversary of what would’ve been your wedding day, you get drunk.”
“It sounds worse when you say it out loud. Do I need to be afraid of you?”
We stare at each other across the table. The silence is electric. If he’s surprised by my question, it doesn’t show.
He says softly, “What if I said yes?”
“Then I’d take you at your word and drive straight to the nearest police station. Are you saying yes?”
He hesitates. “Most people who know me are.”
My heart pounds so hard, I’m surprised he can’t hear it. “I want a yes or a no.”
“Would you believe me if I said no?”
I reply instantly, without thinking. “Yes. You’re not the kind of man who hides behind lies.”
He considers me in blistering, unblinking silence, slowly turning the cigar round and round between his thumb and forefinger. Finally, he says gruffly, “You’re so fucking beautiful.”
The breath I’ve been holding comes out in a rush. “That’s not an answer.”
“I’m getting there.”
“Get there faster.”
On his lips appears that faint approximation of a smile. “I’ve already told you I’m not a knight in shining armor—”
“There’s miles between that and what I asked.”
He growls, “Interrupt me again and I’ll take you over my knee right here and spank that perfect ass of yours until you’re screaming.”
Coming from anyone else, a statement like that—spoken in such a hard, dominating tone—would make me furious.
Coming from him, it almost makes me moan out loud with desire.
I bite my tongue and glare at him, unsure which one of us I dislike more at the moment.
He crushes his cigar in the ashtray, drags a hand through his dark hair, and moistens his lips. Then he shakes his head, laughing ruefully.
“All right. You want an answer? Here it is.”
He stares into my eyes, laughter fading, until he’s all hard jaw and thinned lips and smoldering hotness. “No. You don’t have to be afraid of me. Even if I wanted to hurt you, I wouldn’t.”
I lift my brows. “Somehow, that’s not exactly reassuring.”
“Take it or leave it. It’s the truth.”
The waiter returns, grinning. Without looking away from me, Kage growls at him, “Come over again when you haven’t been called and I’ll put a bullet in your head.”
I’ve never seen a man spin around and run away so quickly.
Feeling dangerously reckless, I say, “Since you’re in a truth telling mood, why did you pay for your house in cash?”
“To launder the money. Don’t repeat that to anyone. Next question.”
My mouth opens. For several moments, nothing comes out. When I manage to compose myself, I say, “Why would you trust me with something like that?”
“Because I want you to trust me.”
“Why?”
“Because I want you. And I suspect getting to have you requires a certain level of trust. I can tell you’re not the type who sleeps around. Next question.”
God, my heart is beating so, so fast. So fast I can barely breathe. Also, I think I might have whiplash.
I say, “Are you always this…”
“Direct? Yes.”
“I was going to say contradictory. Yesterday it seemed like you hated me. I’m still not sure you don’t.”
His voice drops. “Yesterday you weren’t under my protection. Now you are.”
His eyes are hypnotic. His voice is hypnotic. This man is putting me under a spell. “I’m pretty sure I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“It doesn’t matter. What matters is that you believe you’re safe with me.”
My laugh is faint. “Safe with you? God, no. I think I’m in more danger around you than I have been with any other man before in my life.”

Barb’s Review:
Quiet in her Bones by Nalini Singh is a standalone mystery thriller. Aarav Rai, our hero, is a well-known famous author who writes thrillers.  10 years ago, his mother disappeared, as well as a quarter of million in cash; and he has never gotten over his mother leaving him.   Aarav, who was 16 years old at the time of her disappearance, continues to have nightmares of that night; he goes to two doctors for his multiple issues with a broken foot, as well as a brain injury that causes him confusion. To his shock, a body was discovered in the nearby forest area of the elite area for the rich where he lives.  Turns out the body (totally in bones) was his mother, wearing the same clothes from that night; which means she never left the family, but was murdered.

The story revolves around Aarav, as he is determined to find the truth of what really happened.  Even though he is the hero in this story, he is very much fragmented, with his physical and mental issues (memory loss, delusions, forgetfulness, etc), causing confusion as to what is real.  Aarav loved his mother, though despite her love for him, she was a passionate, but hard women who drank and cheated; which is not surprise as the father was the worst of them, equally hated by wife, son, and all the cul de sac neighbors.  Who killed Nina and why, especially with many people being suspects?

Aarav becomes obsessed with solving the crime, questioning everything he remembered from that night years ago, and questioning all the neighbors who were possible suspects. There were so many twists and turns along the way, that at times was riveting and holding our breaths; but also confusing with all the mind games.  I will say for the most part, I did not care for most of the characters, as they were difficult, with only a select few being nice.  I did like Shanti, Par, Lily and Diana; the detectives on the case were good.  Aarav was a good hero, but his issues were really wacked out, making me question what was a dream or real.

What follows is an exciting, challenging mystery that was changing the game quite often.  I can’t say too much more, as it would be spoilers and that would ruin it for you.  Nalini Singh created a mindboggling mystery that held our attention throughout.  If you like mystery thrillers, I suggest you read, Quiet in her Bones.

Sandy’s Review:QUIET IN HER BONES by Nalini Singh is a stand alone, contemporary, adult thriller focusing on the potential murder of socialite Nina Rai.

Told from first person perspective Aarav Rai (Nina’s son) using present day and memories from the past, QUIET IN HER BONES follows ten years after the disappearance of Aarav’s mother, a disappearance under mysterious circumstances in the wake of his parents’ numerous affairs. Aarav was only sixteen years old when his mother went missing from their family home. A late night fight between his parents saw Aarav’s beloved mother leave, never to return until, ten year later, a search crew found her remains, along with her car, buried deep within a ravine now covered in branches and leaves. A now famous mystery author whose only book became a number one best seller turned movie, Aarav begins an investigation of his own only to realize that everyone was suspect including his father and himself.

Aarav Rai’s life is spiralling out of control. An accident that left our hero recovering at the family home finds Aarav suspicious of everyone and everything, bordering of paranoia, psychosis, heart break and pain but as Aarav’s search for the truth begins to reveal a disturbing possibility, there may have been more to his mother’s disappearance than anyone could have ever imagined.

QUIET IN HER BONES is a slow building, intricate and complex story line of mystery and suspense. The Rai family live in a well-to-do Cul-de-Sac where infidelity is rampant, and secret and lies are the order of the day. Similar in feel to Peyton Place, and former American prime time television series Knot’s Landing, and Desperate Housewives, QUIET IN HER BONES reveals the soap-operaesque lifestyle of the rich and famous whose scandalous lives are fodder for gossip and lies.

The back and forth between present day and memories is a little difficult to navigate at times as there is no delineation between the present and the past, often addressed within the context of the same paragraph. The slow build reveals a mosaic of possible suspects, their lives, their loves, their secrets and sins.

••••••

REVIEW:EAST BOUND is the second instalment in Nana Malone’s contemporary, adult HEAR NO EVIL erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on Interpol agent Nyla Kincaid, and billionaire Easton ‘East’ Hale. EAST BOUND should not be read as a stand alone, as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one EAST END. The HEAR NO EVIL trilogy is spin-off from, and interconnected series to the author’s SEE NO EVIL trilogy focusing on three friends: Ben Covington, Easton Hale, and Bridge Edgerton, known as the London Lords, and all members of The Elite-the uber rich and powerful of Eton Academy in London England. Ben and Olivia’s story was told in the SEE NO EVIL trilogy where most of the characters were first introduced.

SOME BACKGROUND: Approximately ten years earlier, during their initiation into the group known as The Elite, Ben Covington, Easton Hale, and Bridge Edgerton lost their best friend and fellow Elite pledge Toby Varma as things quickly spiralled out of control. Seeking revenge against the people and families they held responsible for Toby’s death, Ben, East and Bridge walk a fine line between right and wrong in an effort to take down everyone involved. These are their stories. The Van Linsted family, the once powerful family heading The Elite- found themselves the center of an investigation into the abuse and trafficking of women, among other unethical crimes. When the case against the Van Linsted family landed on Interpol Agent Nyla Kincade’s desk, our heroine didn’t stop with the Van Linsted’s but continued to investigate everyone involved including Easton Hale and the London Lords, against the orders from her superiors in charge.

NOTE: The author includes references to a number of characters and events found in her other series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nyla and East) EAST BOUND follows in the aftermath of a perceived betrayal by Nyla against the man with whom she is falling in love but Nyla is currently suspended from her position with Interpol for disobeying the orders of the people in charge, and in this East struggles to trust Nyla in the wake of evidence he has uncovered at her home. Someone at Interpol has set their sights on the London Lords, and Nyla is about to get caught in the cross-fire. As Nyla continues to investigate a series of art thefts going back a number of years, her case is about to implode when her actions spark a fall-out, out of her control.

The relationship between Nyla and East continues to be tempestuous, at best, as East struggles to trust and accept that Nyla is on their side, after all, Nyla remains an agent at Interpol, and the people in charge, are still gunning for the London Lords. Nyla continues to protect our story line hero, and in this, East will bring our heroine back into the fold, only to place her in the direct line of fire. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, although only used twice, more for shock value than anything else.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters, some byway of mention (from the author’s other series): Ben Covington and Olivia (See No Evil trilogy); Bridge Edgerton; fellow London Lord Drew Wilcox; computer hacker Telly Brinx; Lucas and Bryna (Royals Undone Series); Nyla’s fellow agent and partner Amelia Jansen; Nyla’s ex-boyfriend and Interpol agent Denning Sinclair; and her father Section Chief /Interpol Agent Roger Kincade. The requisite evil has many faces.

EAST BOUND is a fast paced, intriguing and story of secrets and lies; family, friendships, and relationships; and a two secret societies who wield their power with authority and control. The character driven premise is richly detailed and complex; the romance is spicy and imaginative; the characters are fascinating, spirited, edgy and intense. There are many similarities to current day events, events that scream from our media headlines. EAST BOUND ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

USA Today bestseller Nana Malone’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she “borrowed” from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, in the meantime Nana works out her drama, passion, and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.
