ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 23, 2021

I don’t live in the shadows anymore.
Daphne has dragged me into her light.
At first, it was bright, and I didn’t know how to live in it.
I’m… adjusting.
Life for the most part is better than I ever dreamed.
But not better for her dreams.

Especially when dreams tread the line of reality.
When she tells me the truth, it sends me into a quiet place.
A place where I plan, a place where I figure out who her father really is and what he did.
A place where I hone in on my target.
He is the reason for her mind to be lost.
And when she gets lost, I always find her and bring her back to me.
That is until she leaves because life loves to shred my soul.

She’s Gone.
And now I’m the one lost. I’m in the shadows and for the first time, I don’t want to be here.
I need my comet’s light.
Only to find her…
And she doesn’t remember us.
Or me.
I’m a stranger.

How can I make her fall in love with me all over again?
She’s my wish upon a star.
And I’ll kill her father for taking my wish.
I can’t tell anyone.
Or my wish won’t come true.
And I wish for her love again.

REVIEW:TONGUE’S TARGET by KL Savage is the tenth instalment in the contemporary, adult RUTHLESS KING MC: LAS VEGAS erotic, MC, romance series focusing on the men and women of the Ruthless Kings MC, Las Vegas chapter. This is the continuing story of Ruthless Kings enforcer Wayne ‘Tongue’ Hendrix, and twenty-five year old, book store owner Daphne Lace. TONGUE’S TARGET should not be read as a stand alone as much of the premise and story line begins in book eight TONGUE.

WARNING: Due to the graphic nature of the story line premise including violence, abuse and mental illness, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Daphne and Tongue) TONGUE’S TARGET follows in the wake of Tongue’s ongoing issues with the demons from his past, and Daphne’s inability to remain in the present. As both our characters suffer with a long list of emotional and physical trauma including PTSD, Daphne’s mind continues to fracture including the inability to discern the real from imagined, and Tongue’s struggle to protect our heroine pushes Tongue over the edge but the past is hunting our story line heroine pulling Tongue and his brothers into a fight they soon won’t forget.

TONGUE’ TARGET is a raw, haunting, emotional and startling story of guilt and grief; a twisted and tragic story of abuse and violence, of secrets and lies, of blood shed, murder, punishment and debt. TONGUE’S TARGET ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

We don’t speak. We just stare and the room charges with our sexual tension that tends to make others uncomfortable.
“There is a child in the room,” Reaper advises us under his breath while also clearing his throat after, so Maizey hopefully can’t hear the warning.
“Damn, yer making me want more than apple pie.”
“Skirt,” Reaper scolds, but doesn’t have a serious look on his face.
“I need to… uh… go check on Dawn.”
“I’m going to go see Melissa.”
“Yeah, Sarah might need her belly rubbed or something…” Reaper throws it in the pot along with everyone else since they are getting affected by Tongue and I. Well, not us as people, but what we are creating in the air.
Sexual need.
Desire.
Lust.
It’s been too long since I’ve felt him inside me, and I need that to change. I know some people’s love language revolves around hand holding or small gestures, but not mine.
I find reconnection in Tongue with sex because we give each other what we need. Often times, what we need is so much darker than anyone else could ever give. It’s because he’s my soulmate. I never believed in soulmates before him. I believed everyone could love as many people as they wanted. The heart heals when love is taken away and eventually the person learns to love again.
That’s the story I told myself. Since I had never been in love before Tongue, I just thought love was an easy notion. I told myself love was a choice, because there was no such thing as two souls being destined to be together. Even reading all the books I do about love and loss and one true loves, I was skeptical, but it never stopped my curiosity. There was always a part of me that wondered if it was real.
And then the experience with Tongue let me know that love isn’t a choice. We don’t choose love.
It’s decided for us.
Tongue is my fate. The one destiny wrote my life for. When I met him, my life made sense and found purpose.
My soul is linked to his. I know in my heart; I was born to die being loved by him.
If something happened to him, if fate took him away from me, I have no doubt that’s when my journey in this world would come to an end. I was created for his hands, for his heart, and for the wicked side of love people don’t like to experience.
Our love is blackened and burned by the trials of this world. No one can tell me different, but underneath the soot is a diamond. The gem is black, but it shines just as bright as one that isn’t tarnished.
When we die, cover me in our blood so I can become one with the love that’s made its home in the marrow of my bones after I decompose into nothing. But even then, I’ll be something, because I’ll have him embedded in my dust.
People might think they are above us because of how Tongue and I show love is beneath them, but they’re wrong. It’s in the black, in the void, in the places no one wants to go where the deepest, craziest, most intense love exists.
And if you can’t touch that place, have you ever really loved?

K.L. Savage decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.

They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women they love.
If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 23, 2021

I’m in love with two men.
But I can only marry one.
And today is my wedding day.

The bridesmaids button my wedding dress. They titter excitedly as the music begins. My groom is waiting for me. I walk down the aisle prepared to say I do. All according to plan.

Except for the shout from the back of the room, “I object!”

I should have known it couldn’t be that easy. After fourteen years of push and pull, neither of them is going to let me go. We’re a trio that should have never been. Me and Cole and Ash. One that I’m to marry and one that I’m to leave behind.

Now, once and for all, I have to choose: my groom or the man objecting?

But until then…hold the forevers.

••••••

REVIEW:HOLD THE FOREVERS by KA Linde is a stand alone, contemporary new adult to adult erotic, romance story line focusing on Delilah ‘Lila’ Greer, Cole Davis and Ash Talmadge.

Told from first person perspective (Delilah ‘Lila’ Greer) jumping between several timelines covering approximately fourteen years in the life, HOLD THE FOREVERS focuses on the love triangle between Delilah Greer, Cole Davis and Ash Talmadge.

Ash Talmadge was Lila’s high school sweetheart but Ash’s family had his future already mapped out, and Lila was not in the plans. Prom reveals a heart crushing secret, and our heroine, humiliated and beyond reason, runs away from the man she would always love.

Lila will meet Cole Davis at the University of Georgia, and it is insta-love for our story line couple but at every turn Lila would come face to face with Ash Talmadge, and in this the love Lila has for Cole is equally matched by the love Lila continues to feel for the boy, now man, who broke her heart. As the years pass, our heroine finds herself the careless and self-absorbed architect of a dangerous game of heart break and emotions wherein Cole and Ash would inevitably be pitted against one another in an effort to prove who was more worthy of Lila’s love, and in the end, Lila would destroy that love over and over again.

HOLD THE FOREVERS is a frustrating story of embattled love; a vicious and inescapable cycle of love and loss, deception and dishonesty, infidelity, passion, forgiveness and romance. Whether knowingly or unintentionally, our heroine continues to undermine the trust of both Cole and Ash but both men are unable to let go of the woman they could never stop loving, and in this all three participants are equally responsible for the heart ache and pain.

KA Linde pulls the reader into a roller coaster of emotions, heart break, friendships and love. Lila Greer loves both men equally but wanting both will force our heroine to choose, leaving one man destroyed , and the other hoping for a happily ever after.

HOLD THE FOREVERS will be a struggle for readers who dislike cheating and infidelity in their romance story lines. In the ebook copy, there is a link to an epilogue seven years in the future-here’s hoping the author has plans to write a story for the man who is forced to walk away from the woman he loves.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 22, 2021

It’s natural to want the one you can’t have. And for as long as I could remember, I’d secretly wanted my brother’s best friend, Jace.

He was six years older and always treated me like the sister he never had.

Fast forward a decade.

We were all in our twenties now. Jace had moved in with my brother, Nathan, and me to help us make ends meet after our parents died.

It was just the three of us—an odd family dynamic.

Living under our roof, Jace was as bossy and protective as ever.

But he certainly didn’t look at me like a sister anymore. That was what made things so complicated.

I was pretty much hot and bothered twenty-four-seven.

And he was torn.

The signs were subtle, at first. Like on movie night, I’d casually rest my leg against his, and he wouldn’t exactly shift away.

Still, I assumed he would never…go there.

Nathan would kill us.

The knowledge of that wasn’t enough to stop the inevitable, though.

Eventually our slow burn exploded.

But more than the physical attraction, we’d developed a strong connection.

We just couldn’t get caught, right?

That sounded simple.

Until it wasn’t.

This is a story of forbidden love, broken trust, and an unexpected second chance.

REVIEW: THE CRUSH by Penelope Ward is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, erotic, romance story line focusing on Jace Muldoon, and Farrah Spade.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jace and Farrah), following two time-lines, THE CRUSH focuses on the best friend’s little sister relationship between Jace Muldoon and Farrah Spade. Farrah Spade has crushed on her brother Nathan’s best friend all of her life but their six year age difference meant Jace considered Farrah like the little sister he never had. Not wanting to destroy his friendship with Nathan, Jace refused to see Farrah as anything other than the girl she used to be but at twenty-seven years old Jace could no longer contain the feelings he had for his best friend’s twenty-one year old sister.Life had been cruel to the Spade siblings, and in this Nathan was over protective of our story line heroine but when Jace and Farrah’s friendship crossed the line into something more, Nathan saw red, and Jace ran, breaking our heroine’s heart in the process. Fast forward three years, and Jace has returned to home, never forgetting about the woman he would always love. As Farrah struggles with Jace’s reappearance after three years away, Jace hopes for forgiveness from Nathan, and the woman he loves. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Jace and Farrah, and the fall-out when their relationship is discovered, and Jace must face years of guilt, and reality of what was and what will never be.

Jace Muldoon had never considered Farrah anything but his best friend’s little sister until our heroine blossomed into a beautiful young woman who life was about to spiral out of control.Trying desperately to keep his distance, Jace is about to fail when he realizes that Farrah wants something more than a temporary romance. Farrah Spade’s heart was destroyed the day Jace Muldoon walked out of her life but to add insult to injury Farrah was hurt by her brother’s reaction and behavior, leaving a hardened heart in the wake of betrayal and loss. Having moved on from the past, Farrah will quickly discover that three years apart did nothing to stop the desire and emotional upheaval of years before.

The relationship between Farrah and Jace is a best friend’s little sister, second chance romance wherein sins from the past resurface to create a heart breaking realization. Unable to forgive himself Jace runs from the only two friends he has ever loved, and in doing so, destroys a friendship, and his hopes for a future with the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and test.

We are introduced to Farrah’s brother Nathan Spade, and her best friend Kellianne; Jace’s parents, as well as several relationship potentials coming in and out of the trio’s lives.

THE CRUSH is a story of family and friendships, relationships and love; of betrayal and accusations; acceptance and forgiveness. The premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is fated, sensitive and moving; the characters are animated, broken, and edgy.

Furbidden Fatality by Deborah Blake – a Review

Furbidden Fatality by Deborah Blake – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Book Depository

Description:
Kari Stuart’s life is going nowhere–until she unexpectedly wins the lottery. The twenty-nine-year-old instant multimillionaire is still mulling plans for her winnings when trying to rescue a bossy black kitten leads her to a semiabandoned animal shelter. They need the cash–Kari needs a purpose.

But the dilapidated rescue is literally going to the dogs with a pending lawsuit, hard to adopt animals, and too much suspicious attention from the town’s dog warden. When the warden turns up dead outside the shelter’s dog kennels, Kari finds herself up a creek without a pooper-scooper.

With the help of some dedicated volunteers, a cute vet, and a kitten who mysteriously shows up just when she needs it, Kari must prove her innocence all while trying to save a dog on death row. Now she just needs to hope that her string of unexpected luck isn’t about to run out.

Review:

Furbidden Fatality by Deborah Blake is the first book in her new Catskills Pet Rescue Mystery series.  I have read a few series by Blake, and this new series is a total genre change for her.  I will say that I loved the book, it’s heroine Kari and especially a little black kitten named, Queenie, who I absolutely adored.

We meet our heroine, Kari Stuart, who finally manages to capture an adorable cute black kitten, and takes her to a shelter to find her a home.  The shelter is overbooked and unable to take any more pets, she is told to try the failing sanctuary.  Kari, barley made ends meet, but she just won a 5-million-dollar lottery, and decides to do something constructive, and purchase the dilapidated animal shelter that is for sale.  She hires men to renovate the shelter and together with Daisy (former owner), Sara, Bryn, and her best friend, Suz, the shelter slowly opens up to bring in more dogs and cats.  Two issues though are problematic, a pending lawsuit against Buster (under Daisy’s tenure), a dog who escaped and supposedly bit someone, with the evil dog warden pushing for his death; and on the same day Kari moves into her house next door, she wakes up during the night, as the dogs are all barking. Kari discovers a dead body, and it is the dog warden.

Since she discovered the body, Kari is immediately a suspect, as is Daisy; but since almost every dog owner in town hated the dog warden, any one could have murdered him.  There were quite a few dog owners whose dog was put to sleep on the warden’s recommendations, which leads Kari, with some help from her volunteers, to start their own investigation to the murder. Over the next few nights, the shelter is vandalized by someone who wants to destroy the shelter.  Are they the ones who committed the murder?  Why are they so determined to cause chaos? Kari will be on the case to find out.

What follows is a cute cozy mystery, with wonderful secondary characters, fun adorable dogs and cats, a few villains (that keep you guessing), and a possible future romance between two new people; the veterinarian and the new dog warden.  Most of all, as noted earlier I loved loved Queenie the little kitten, who seems to have a little magic, as she manages to help give her clues.  Did I save I love Queenie?

Forbidden Fatality was a light hearted and fun small-town mystery that kept you guessing til the very end. We also get a glimpse of shelter life taking care and meeting the abandoned animals, as well as finding homes.  Deborah Blake did a wonderful job writing this story, and keeping our interest throughout. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Or does their love—and humanity—not stand a chance?

Review:

Wicked all Night by Jeaniene Frost is the 3rd book in her Night Rebel trilogy.  I am a major fan of Jeaniene Frost and her Night Huntress series, as well as her spin offs in that world, which is also Night Rebel.  When I started reading the Night Rebel series, I was surprised at finding myself totally loving Ian, the man we used to hate in her Night Huntress series.  After two books, I love Ian and Veritas, another bad ass. In the last book, Veritas and Ian, managed to defeat and kill Dagon, their worst enemy.

Wicked all Night begins with Veritas doing everything in her power to save Ian, including trying to find her father.  She is approached by a golden god named Phanes, who was the original intended betrothal force upon her by her father.  Phanes says he will help find her father, if she comes with him to show off his betrothed to his people. Veritas figuring, she will be gone 24 hours, though later learns in his world, time is different (24 hours equals months).

Ian and her brother Ashael manage to find Veritas, much to Phanes surprise, and Ian manages to rise up and defeat everything Phanes throws at him. Phanes agrees to take her to her father in the netherworld, where he tricks them and leaves them trapped unable to leave.  But fortunately for Veritas, her father will help them leave, but they have to find the two gods who escaped with Phanes.

What follows is an exciting, nonstop action and an amazing story that has Veritas and Ian working together to find Phanes and the two escapees. They will find themselves in dangerous situations throughout the book, coming up against powerful enemies.  It was great to get to see our favorites, who come to help them; Cat, Bones, Mencheres, Spade, Vlad, Denise, Marie. These are fantastic characters from Jeaniene that we have come to love.  So wonderful to see them again.

Veritas and Ian approach both Marie and the Vampire Council to convince them to help fight these evil destructive gods.  Ian mostly proves to the council that Veritas is innocent of the crimes they accuse her of, and convinces them to change the rules, allowing Veritas to be safe and free. When they face the villians, everyone will join the fight, and Ian implores Veritas to use her god like power to defeat them.

The last half of the book was exciting, intense, pulse pounding non-stop action, as we raced to the battle filled climax.  Wicked All Night was also sexy, fun, with our wonderful favorite characters to enjoy, and I loved every moment of it.   Ian and Veritas turned out to be a fabulous couple with a strong connection and scorching chemistry.  I absolutely adore Jeaniene Frost and these fantastic worlds she’s has created; I can’t wait to see what she has instore for us next.

Paws for Love by Mara Wells – a Review

Paws for Love by Mara Wells – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Book Depository

Description:
Danielle Morrow works tirelessly for the greyhound rescue as an adoption coordinator, rehabilitating retired racing dogs and helping them find forever homes. She guards her heart as vigilantly as her three adopted greyhounds guard her home. One heartbreak per lifetime is enough for any woman, and no one she’s met since her high school boyfriend dumped her to join the military has ever tempted her enough to risk love again.

Knox Donovan expected to be career military, but an injury has resulted in an honorable discharge that leaves him uncertain of his future. When his brothers ask him to come back to Miami to help manage their new condo conversion, he figures he can at least advise them about security systems before declining the job. He has no intention of staying in the city that has so many bad memories for him.

Knox is reminded that not all his memories of growing up in Miami Beach are bad when he sees Danielle again at the monthly Adoption Day celebration his brothers host at the local dog park. Fourteen years haven’t softened the pain of their breakup. But Knox is different now, more hard-edged and suspicious, and when he bonds with the retired racing greyhound, Sarge, Danielle’s cool reserve begins to melt. Sarge needs special care after the injuries that ended his racing career, and it’s not long before Danielle realizes that Knox does too. Can Danielle trust her heart to the one man who’s ever broken it?

Review:

Paws for Love by Mara Wells is the 3rd book in her Fur Haven Dog Park series.  Fur Haven Park and the Dorothy apartment complex is where the Donovan Brothers are fixing up both places. In the first two books, two of the brothers found their mates, and in Paws for Love, the third brother Knox is our hero.

Knox, was set in his decision to stay in the military as a career, but a serious injury to his leg causes him to be discharged.  He has a hard time dealing with this injury, but works hard with his brothers to fix up the project they are working on.  Knox, has been away a long time, and when he sees the girl whom he left years ago, memories and regrets flood back.

We meet Danielle Morrow, our heroine, at the start, with her helping save a dog in her veterinarian father’s animal hospital.  Danielle helps rescue greyhound racing dogs, to help find forever homes for them, as she is an adoption coordinator for Homestretch; she has two dogs of her own (Luna & Flurry), which were foster fails.  Danielle is friends with the wives of the two Donovan Brothers, and is a regular at Fur Haven Park, where she brings the dogs. She happens to see Knox, and tries to avoid him, since she has not forgotten that he walked away from her all those years ago.

When Danielle rescues another greyhound, whom she names, Sarge, she takes him home to help rehabilitate him. The dog has a leg issue, and when he sees Knox, Sarge has found his master; but will Knox allow himself to open up to the dog.  Danielle and Knox decide to help with Sarge, and agree to be friends.  Knox knows he still cares for Danielle, but realizes there is no future, and in a short time their friendship escalates to friends with benefits; with Danielle knowing that he will leave when the project is over.  Will they have a second chance to fall in love again, after 15 years?  You will have to read this book to find out.

What follows is a cute, fun, heartwarming, enjoyable adventure, as their romance heats up, but the issues were still there. The best part of this book and series, are the wonderful dogs that play a large part of this story.  Such sweet fun.   It was also wonderful to see Riley, Caleb, Lance, Carrie, Grams again, and I loved the friendship between Sydney and Danielle, as well as the dogs.  I loved Danielle, who was a great heroine (the ladies of all three books have been wonderful), and understood her hesitation to allow herself to be hurt again, when Knox would leave.  I did like Knox, but thought his determination to leave again was annoying, but later he does come through.

Paws for Love was a heartwarming story about family, second chances, friendships, dogs, dog parks and finding love again.  Mara Wells did an excellent job in writing this story.  I suggest you read Paws for Love, or start this series with the first book.

Hunt never expected to fall in love, but just as it appears he and Ava are headed for a happy ever after, she becomes a victim of violence at the hospital ER in Blessings, and suffers an injury that could cost her life. Through secrets, lies, family betrayal, and difficult choices, Hunt’s not sure he and Ava can ever make a home together in Blessings. Or if life will once again lead them onto different paths…?

Review:

Somebody to Love by Sharon Sala is the 11th book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series. As I have said in previous reviews of this series, I always enjoy coming back to Blessings, Georgia and the fabulous townsfolk we get to spend time with. Once again, Sharon Sala gives us another wonderful feel-good romance and a great couple

Hunt Knox, our hero, returns home 15 years after he left Blessings and his family. Hunt had planned to go to college, working part time jobs to save $8000, which was stolen from him, with his father/siblings not revealing who stole the money.  He joined the army and currently works as a chopper pilot for an oil company in Houston.  When he receives a request from his dying mom to return home, he accepts her deathbed wish for him to fix up the old house, after which he can take $8000 up front, and he and the rest of the siblings can split the rest of the profits. Hunt tries not to deal with his 4 siblings (except the youngest, Birdie, who was too young at the time of the robbery), as they still will not reveal the truths.

Ava Ridley, was very young when Hunt left, and though he was much older, she crushed on him even then.  Ava is an ER nurse, and is well liked a by everyone.  She befriends Hunt and in a short time they both start falling for each other; with Hunt realizing that Ava is the women for him, but will she leave Blessings and move to Houston when he returns.

Slowly despite his determination to do the renovation, he slowly begins to accept his family again; and in time the truth will be revealed; which puts a different aspect to what happened.  Learning the truths will bring Hunt and his family together. The chemistry between Hunt and Ava was wonderful, as they made a great couple.  Along the way, there are a number of events that happens causing drama and heartbreak, that puts both Hunt and Ava right in the middle, and with other members of Blessings, and it is always fun to see how the town bonds together to help.

What follows is wonderful heartwarming & emotional story, with a great couple, wonderful characters that we keep meeting in all our visits to Blessings.  I love returning to Blessings, which is a wonderful community who takes care of their own. We should all be blessed with living in Blessings.

Sharon Sala writes another delightful story in this wonderful small town, and great couples that we care about with each and every book.  Blessings, Georgia always gives the vibe of a perfect place you would love to live in.  If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small-town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. Somebody to Love was a wonderful read, written so very well by Sharon Sala.
