Staying in Tennessee to work with his father at the family owned construction company, Leo struggles with the loss of his best friend, a loss perpetuated by weeks of silence between him and the woman that calls to his heart.

The relationship between Leo and Mila is a best friends to lovers relationship wherein one night together changes the dynamic of their life-long friendship. Mila had always considered herself Leo’s wingman, and Leo was forever in protector mode when Mila’s heart was broken by another man. Months spent apart added fuel to an already burning fire of anger and love but the possibility of losing Mila sends Leo into a spiral of which he may never recover. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense-there is plenty of sexual innuendo, immature trash talk between the ‘boys’ with much of it directed at our story line heroine.

The secondary and supporting characters are colorful, energetic, dirty talking yet immature young men: Cain, Sawyer and Ashton. We learn a little more about Cain as much of Mila’s time in the Virgin Islands is spent alongside the man who is operating a catamaran cruise operation. Ashton’s story line is next in THE FLING.

THE KISS is a story of friendships, relationships, and love. Leo and Mila refuse to acknowledge the elephant in the room yet Ashton, Cain and Sawyer are more than aware of the palpable sexual attraction between our leading couple. As Mila and Leo continue to deny their attraction, the tension between friends reaches a breaking point that may destroy everything they have. The premise is engaging and real; the characters are stubborn; the romance is seductive.

REVIEW:SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE is the first instalment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult MASTERS AND MERCENARIES: RELOADED erotic, BDSM, romantic suspense series-a spin off from the author’s Masters and Mercenaries: The Forgotten, which in turn is a spin off from the original Masters and Mercenaries. This is Greg ‘Hutch’ Hutchins, and scientist Noelle LaVigne’s story line. SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE can be read as a stand alone, you do not have to have read the previous series to follow or understand. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s LAWLESS series.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise there are some scenes of bondage and discipline, domination and submission including spanking and rope play.

Told from third person perspective SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE follows Greg ‘Hutch’ Hutchins, as a member of the McKay-Taggart security force, tasked with the protection of scientist Noelle LaVigne in the wake of a suspicious death of a fellow researcher at Genedyne Labs. There is more than one team investigating the who, what and why at Genedyne Labs, and our heroine will be caught in the middle of a fight for control.

The relationship between Hutch and Noelle begins acrimoniously as Hutch refuses to ‘babysit’ a spoiled scientist, and our heroine refuses to accept protection from the man with whom she will fall in love. We are introduced to IT specialist Mae Beatrice Vaughn aka MaeBe, security specialists Michael Malone and Kyle Hawthorne, Genedyne CEO Jessica Layne , Noelle’s father Armie LaVigne and his wife Lila, engineer Peter Moore, Dallas PD Chris Taylor, and Cara Dover.

SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE is a story of betrayal, power and control; corporate espionage; money, murder, relationships and love. The premise is engaging, intriguing and entertaining; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are animated, energetic and dynamic.

“I’ve spent a lot of my evening researching your boss, and she’s dangerous. I think her corporate structure is sketchy, too. I think there’s a good chance she’s under some kind of investigation, and you’re going to get dragged into it. Is there any way you could take a couple of weeks off?”
It was the conclusion he’d come to. He would feel safer if she didn’t go back into that building again.
She shook her head. “I can’t. If I leave, I leave my research behind, and I’m close. If I prove my processes can work I’ll be able to hire on anywhere, and that would be remarkable at my age.”
Well, it was the answer he’d expected. “I want you to keep your eyes open and call me the minute you feel like anything’s weird. Trust your instincts.” He let out a breath and admitted the answer he’d come to. “I’m going to let Kyle go in with you tomorrow.”
“Good, because I have it on the highest authority he was going to take that job anyway.”
It was good to know he was in charge. He closed the screen of his laptop. He should go to bed and let her have some peace. She had to be at work early in the morning. He would lay on her couch and stare at the ceiling.
He was about to stand when Noelle beat him to it. “Hey, you didn’t get your prize.”
“Prize?”
“That’s kind of what you wanted, right? I’m supposed to give you something for opening up to me.”
“I wasn’t thinking about it as a prize, though I can see where you would.” He wanted to explore this thing between them, and having her talk to him or tell him something important about herself would do that. But he wasn’t going to push her. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”

She pulled her hand back before he could take the candy. It wasn’t even a full one. It was the last little piece of what he’d given her.
“I want you to take it from me.” She licked her lips and put it in her mouth.
He was fully awake now, and about three thousand reasons this was a bad, bad idea went through his head.
It was too soon. She was sheltered and inexperienced. He was not. He had needs that would shock her. She’d literally said she didn’t do weird sex stuff. He did. A lot of weird sex stuff.
He should wait because she wasn’t doing this because she was in love with him. She was doing it because they had wild chemistry and she couldn’t help herself. He should be the senior partner and end this experiment of hers.
She settled on his lap. Suddenly every muscle in his body was tense and waiting to see if she was doing what he thought she was doing.

Review:

Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador World by Dianna Love is the 5th book in this 9-book arc.  As a big fan of Dianna Love, as I have read all of her series. Refresher: Daegan and his team are attacked by Immortiks, who were supposed dead many years ago. Many of his Belador team are being held prisoners, with the threat of death if Daegan can’t find the missing ‘grimoire’ volumes. The information on the Immortiks and the grimoire is difficult to find, as it dates back thousands of years ago.

As the story continues, Daegan with the help of Tristan and the entity he promised to help, together they were able to find a way to rescue Casidhe away from the hands of Queen Maeve. Casidhe at first believed the bad things said about Daegan, but after hearing how he was in dire straits, and showed how much he cared for her, she realizes the truth.  Knowing she was safe, Casidhe allows Daegan to go with the entity to complete his promise and she would wait for him

Daegen and Tristan find themselves in dangerous situation, as the entity did not tell all the truth, putting their lives in danger.  But in a short time, they manage to get what was needed, and escape back home to Casidhe, but they needed to find the hidden Grimore box.  While Casidhe and Tristan go off to find her friend, Daegan goes to visit Brina, as she is about to give birth.  Daegan also discovers some secrets and revelations from Lanna, that will affect their future.

Evalle, who is acting in charge for Quinn, finds herself, Adrianna and Reese being attacked by many demons, who mainly want Reese.  When things settle, Quinn finally finds Reese to tell her how he feels and wants the baby; and to keep her safe.  

It is always great to see all of our favorites throughout each book. What follows is a non-stop action filled, pulse pounding story, with each chapter wild and exciting.  I am not going to tell too much more, since I do not want to give spoilers, as these are short stories and saying too much would be too revealing. As normal, this book ends with an amazing multiple cliffhanger; involving Evalle, with Adrianna; Casidhe discovering that she had been betrayed long ago and Daegan and Tristan in trouble again. As I have said previously, this is a 9-book series arc and you truly do need to read these books in cohesion.  If you are  love paranormal, urban fantasy, suspense, romance, great characters, you should be reading Dianna Love.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sky and Baker) REBELLIOUS AND RECKLESS follows the roommates to lovers relationship between college students Sky Cold and Baker Finnegan. Baker Finnegan needs a place to stay after his college roommate moves in his girlfriend without warning. Overhearing Baker’s exchange, Sky Cold offers Baker her spare room-an arrangement her father can know nothing about but Sky has an ulterior motive-our heroine is obsessed and in love with Baker’s brother Luke, the star quarterback and man-wh*re on the college campus. REBELLIOUS AND RECKLESS is a story of secrets and lies; betrayal and vengeance; dysfunctional family dynamics, forgiveness and love. The premise is captivating and heart breaking; the romance struggles in the early stages as Sky’s obsession with Luke is beyond naive and immature; the characters are dynamic and charismatic.
