REVIEW:HERO by MN Forgy is the second instalment in the contemporary, adult multi-authored VII KNIGHTS MC dark, erotic, MC romance series. This is heir to the VII Knights MC presidency Godric, and waitress Monet’s story line.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Godric and Monet) HERO follows in the wake of the death by the VII Knights MC president. Godric is the heir apparent to the MC presidency but our anti-hero was currently under psychiatric care at a local hospital, for the murder of his former girlfriend. Desperate to get back to the MC, Godric forces the people in charge to sign his release, only to return to the MC too late to save his dad. With the MC presidency not a sure thing, Godric must follow a list, a list that has Godric focusing on family and blood. Meanwhile, Godric saves a young woman from an attack, and days later, said woman will arrive at the club, setting up the MC for a fall. As a prisoner of the VII Knights MC, Monet struggles between head and heart knowing her life may be forfeit if her debt isn’t repaid. What ensues is the building relationship between Godric and Monet, and the fall-out a Godric’s need for vengeance doesn’t go according to plan.

The relationship between Godric and Monet begins out of desperation and vengeance. Godric is hoping to take down a supporter MC, and Monet is the key to access and information. A prisoner of the VII Knights MC, Monet knows that her time may be limited, but a debt must be paid, and Monet has no idea if she is the ultimate prize. The $ex scenes are impassioned and intense.

HERO is a story of betrayal, desperation and vengeance, family and brotherhood, death and loss, acceptance and moving forward. The fast paced premise is dark and dramatic; the romance is provocative; the characters are broken, desperate and lost.

I will add, the cover image is kinda creepy…what’s wrong with his teeth??

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 26, 2021

It’s almost Christmas, and Florida gray wolf shifter and veterinarian Gabrielle Lowe has been talked into going with her friends to a ski resort in Silver Town, Colorado. But when her two jaguar girlfriends are held up on a mission, it not only leaves Gabrielle alone for the holidays, but also out of her element at the snowy resort. Determined to make the best of it, Gabrielle takes a dip in the lodge’s heated pool–after it’s closed, of course…

Gray wolf shifter Landon Wolff is part owner of the ski lodge and he’s got enough on his plate getting ready for the annual influx of Christmas visitors. The last thing he needs is a rebel, indulging in a midnight swim long after the pool is closed. Just as he’s about to throw the rule breaker out of the pool he realizes that Gabby is also a wolf. Suddenly, all the rules change… Maybe Landon will finally find the wolf he’s always wanted to share the holidays with.

REVIEW:JINGLE BELL WOLF is the second instalment in Terry Spear’s contemporary, adult WOLFF BROTHERS paranormal, romance series-a spin off from the author’s Silver Town Wolf series. This is lodge owner/ski instructor gray wolf shifter Landon Wolff, and veterinarian/ gray wolf shifter Gabrielle Lowe’s story line. JINGLE BELL WOLF can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Heart of the Jaguar series, a series that has had no new instalments for several years. You do not have to have read either of the previously mentioned series to follow the current time line.

Told from third person perspectives JINGLE BELL WOLF follows veterinarian and gray wolf shifter Dr. Gabrielle Lowe as she embarks on a one-week Christmas vacation at a shifter wolf owned ski resort in Silver Town, Colorado, a vacation arranged by her friends and jaguar shifters Odette and Zelda Bellamy. Odette and Zelda are JAG special forces operatives, and are currently on assignment in Florida leaving our heroine to vacation on her own but Gabrielle is not alone for long when she trespasses after hours, and finds herself facing lodge co-owner and shifter Landon Wolf. Immediately attracted to one another, Landon spends the week with our heroine, a week wherein our couple find themselves falling in love, and Gabrielle if offered the position of lead veterinarian in Silver Town, Colorado.

Meanwhile, Odette and Zelda’s assignment continues to perplex the JAG special forces operatives until a familiar face is recognized in Silver Town, Colorado.

The relationship between Landon and Gabrielle is one of immediate attraction but Silver Town’s female population is greatly outnumbered by the shifter males, and in this, Gabrielle begins to attract the attention of all unmated shifter men. In an effort to woo our story line heroine, Landon spends most of his time with Gabrielle Lowe, swimming and skiing, time where he finds himself falling in love. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Landon’s sibings: Blake and his mate Nicole, sisters Kayla and Roxie; shopkeeper Maxine Fox, tea shop owner Silva; Pack leaders Darien and Lelandi Silver; Gabrielle’s former fling Brando Redfern, as well as several characters previously introduced in the Silver Town Wolf series.

JINGLE BELL WOLF is a story of family and friendships, relationships and love. Like many of Terry’s previous story lines, much of the premise of JINGLE BELL WOLF reads like filler wherein the reader is privy to little UBIs, an infinitely detailed world building that has little to do with the overall story line. The premise is lively and enjoyable; the romance is captivating; the characters are energetic and interesting.

April May Fall by Christina Hovland – a Review

April May Fall by Christina Hovland – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Book Depository

Description:
April Davis totally has her life in order. Ha! Not really. Yes, she’s the Calm Mom—a social influencer with a reputation for showing moms how to stay calm and collected through yoga—but behind the scenes, she’s barely holding it all together. Raising tiny humans alone is exhausting, but that’s just the chewed-up cherry on the melted sundae of her life. Her kids aren’t behaving, her husband left her for his skydiving instructor, and her top knot proves she hasn’t showered in days.

Then a live video of the “always calm” April goes viral…and she’s most definitely not. Enter Jack Gibson, April’s contact at the media conglomerate that has purchased April’s brand. The too-sexy-for-his-own-good Jack will help clean up April’s viral mess, and even work with her to expand her influence, but toddler tea parties and a dog with a penchant for peeing on his shoes were definitely not part of the deal.

Now April’s calm has jumped ship quicker than her kids running from their vegetables. Not to mention, the sparks flying between her and Jack have her completely out of her depth. Forget finding her calm—April’s going to need a boatload of margaritas just to find her way back to herself again.

Each book in the Mommy Wars series is STANDALONE:
* Rachel, Out of Office
* There’s Something About Molly
* April May Fall
* Everything’s Fine, Emmaline

Review :

April May Fall by Christina Holland is the third book in her Mommy Wars series.  I’ve read and loved this series. This one though is my favourite so far. April is hilarious, Jack is smooth and a total hottie. Together with this author, you’ll laugh until something bursts?

April online is a super efficient mother. There is nothing she can’t do, and nothing she can’t advise you on….. But when the camera clicks off!! Then that’s a whole different story…..

Jack can put a spin on most things, and when he’s asked to help contain a viral leak (well more like an explosion) Jack thinks it’s going to be a walk in the park…..
This book was just so funny, the banter between the main characters was quick and had me chuckling out loud. The predicaments they would get themselves into had me both rolling my eyes and holding my sides. Throw in the kids and a few characters from previous books and you have a winning combination.

It is a slow burn romance that at times will have you shouting at the book/kindle. They fancy each other like mad, but neither will make a move…A hiccup in their relationship has the brakes firmly on, and at one point I did think the whole thing might derail!

Being a single parent can’t be easy, trying to support yourself and your kids must be a nightmare (and I applaud the single parent whether it be male or female) having your newly found confidence shattered because of a stupid video would have me scurrying for the chocolate tin! But April doesn’t give up, she might have a mini breakdown, but she’s made of stronger stuff.

This author has become an automatic click for my kindle, and I’m happy to recommend her books for a feel good vibe and a hearty chuckle at life.

She tried the front door and it was unlocked, which actually surprised her.

“Not open,” Mac’s deep, rumbly voice called out from the back about a second before he stepped out from his workshop. His eyes widened when he saw her.

And he stood there looking like deer in headlights. Good.

“Adeline,” he began.

“A text? Seriously? You blow me off with a freaking text,” she snapped out, her boots stomping forward of their own volition. That burning fire that had spent days kindling was licking up her spine now as she worked up a good head of anger.

He closed his eyes briefly as he moved toward her. “Look, it’s not what you think.”

“Really? It’s not what I think? You didn’t send me a dismissive, crappy text about an hour before our date? After spending all that time together and becoming…friends.” Or she’d thought they had. Obviously she was wrong. “So you didn’t blow me off after all that? And then ignore me right in front of people on Main Street?” It was quite literally possible there was actual steam coming out of her ears right now.

Guilt flickered across his expression for a moment but then his face went carefully neutral. “Look, I didn’t know how else to handle it. I just don’t think we should see each other. I shouldn’t have ignored you and I should have called, but—”

She’d took another step forward, hands on hips, when the front door behind her swung open with a bang.

She jumped and turned to find some guy stalking in. He had on heavy-looking boots, jeans, a short-sleeved T-shirt, and there was a chain hanging from his back pocket attached to his belt. And he had some ugly-looking tattoos on his arms. Prison tats.

DOC is a story of power, control and abuse; betrayal and vengeance; struggle, loss, family and love. The premise is dark and edgy; the romance is provocative but struggles with our hero’s issues of trust; the characters are broken, challenged but moving forward.

“You don’t seem concerned.”
“Concern walked out the door with gullibility and trust when I realized I’d been abducted off the street by a psychopath because he wants me to help his fugitive wife give birth. Your father hasn’t said one goddamn word of truth since I’ve been here. There’s no way he was ever letting me leave.”
“Then why aren’t you doing something about it?”
“I am.”
“What?”
He walks over to me. His face is tight, his eyes dark. “Now why would I go and tell you something like that?”
His words and tone stun me, but it’s the sharp distrust in his eyes that get me.
I’m trying to help him, but he’s acting like I’m trying to extract his teeth without any Novocain.
“I’m trying to help you.”
“Sure, you are.”
I take a step back and fold my arms. Last night, I slept in his arms. Today, his walls are firmly up, and the look of contempt is back in those baby blues.
Apparently, our truce is over.
“You still think I’m a part of this, don’t you?”
I’m not going to be wounded by his distrust. In fact, I couldn’t care less. Besides, I get it. In his shoes, I’d probably feel the same way. And we’re not friends. Hell, I don’t think I even like him.
Okay, that’s not true. My body likes him, obviously, because every time he’s close to me, I want to get naked, sink into his warm aura, and make out with him, and clearly, my body is desperate to get laid. After all, it’s been what? Three years?
He stands in front of me, and I can’t help but notice the long lashes that fringe the deep blue of his eyes. When he talks, dimples appear on either side of his mouth, and dammit, if I don’t want to kiss those dimples as much as I want to kiss those lips.
Despite hating him.
“I know what you’re doing,” he says.
Again, the tone of his voice catches me off guard. “Excuse me?”
He moves forward, his face dark with heat and emotion. “Get close to the doctor and lure him in, do what you have to do to make him let down his guard…” He takes another step toward me, and I mindlessly take one backward. Not because I’m scared but because the moment has turned into something tight and exciting. Our eyes lock and an electrical charge buzzes between us as the space separating us disappears. “Be his friend, gain his trust… treat him real good.”
“What are you saying?”
He takes another step closer, but I have nowhere to go. My shoulder blades are already pressed against the door behind me.
“Wrap your arms around him and do what you gotta do… entice him.”
I glare at him.
“Well, here I am, Lily…” his eyes flash, and his face tightens, “… entice me.”
My sensibility screams at me to tell him to back off, but the woman in me can’t rip her eyes off his mouth. My lips part with a shaky breath as my heart pounds against my ribcage. I lick my lips, and his eyes become heavy-lidded as they track the movement of my tongue. I wonder if he’s going to kiss me, and the thought sends a zip of excitement up my spine.
His face comes closer, and I swallow deep, his heat burning like red-hot coal around me.
My eyes close.
I want him to kiss me. Desperately.
I feel his breath against my cheek.
My lips part.
“Isn’t that the plan?” he growls.
The palms of his hands hit the wall either side of my head, caging me in his heat.
“You want to entice me?”
His lips are close to mine. His voice dark and velvety.
“You want to lure me in and… tempt me?”
My pulse races in my throat.
I hear him inhale and exhale roughly, and dear god, just kiss me.
“Tell me…” His breath sweet as it brushes across my lips. “Just how stupid do you think I am?”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 26, 2021.

Local waitress Holly Dawson needs a better paying job to cover her sister’s college tuition. Given that it’s Christmas and she’s broke as a joke, she’s feeling pretty bah-humbug. New jobs are hard to come by in a town as small as Painted Barrel, especially as the town dropout.

When Holly’s offered a job at the Flat C Ranch to clean and cook for the cowboys that work there, it seems like a dream come true…except for one thing. Her nemesis, the incredibly handsome (and annoyingly arrogant) Adam Calhoun works there. It doesn’t matter that he loves dogs more than people, or that he’s a war veteran. No Christmas spirit can save that particular grinch.

When the rest of the ranch hands go out of town for the holidays, Holly and Adam will be forced to work closely together. No sweat. Holly can deal with Adam. And if she doesn’t kill him first, she just might fall in love.

REVIEW:HOLLY JOLLY COWBOY is the seventh instalment in Jessica Clare’s contemporary, adult THE WYOMING COWBOY, erotic, cowboy, romance series. This is waitress/baker Holly Dawson, and rancher Adam Calhoun’s story line. HOLLY JOLLY COWBOY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Holly and Adam) HOLLY JOLLY COWBOY follows the enemies to lovers relationship between waitress/baker Holly Dawson, and rancher Adam Calhoun. For months, Adam Calhoun and some of the local ranchers have visited the café where Holly works but for some reason Adam has takes an immediate dislike towards our story line heroine, and continues to humiliate her at every chance he gets. When Holly is offered a job to cook for the cowboys at a local ranch, our heroine jumps at the chance only to come face to face with her nemesis Adam Calhoun. Refusing to bow to Adam’s games, Holly one-ups Adam only to become the focus of the ultimate failure and betrayal. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Holly and Adam, and the potential fall-out when Adam reveals the source of Holly’s mortification leaving a stunned and heart broken heroine in its’ wake.

Holly Dawson had to give up her dreams with the death of her parents, leaving Holly to raise her younger sister by herself. Working two jobs to pay for her sister’s education, Holly is hoping to one day open her own café or bakery but struggles in the aftermath of a humiliating failure. The only bright spot is her relationship with Adam which has turned friendly and sexual, a relationship that is about to royally implode. Adam Calhoun has disliked Holly Dawson from the moment they met believing our heroine is a phony and a fraud but Adam has no idea as to the extent of Holly’s need to thrive, and in this, Adam continues to push at Holly every chance he gets. Arrogant and infuriated, Adam crosses a line from which Holly may never step back.

The relationship between Adam and Holly begins acrimoniously as Adam spends months embarrassing Holly at her place of work but Holly refuses to break every time. Holly is a generous, hard working heroine who must do battle with the local bully, a bully who has set his sites on our story line heroine. Holly doesn’t understand what she did to make Adam hate the very ground upon which she walks, and with it, Holly must walk the walk in order to survive. Working at the ranch, Holly must face Adam on a daily basis but never expected to fall for the man that is about to destroy her dreams. The $ex scenes are passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include several ranch owners Sage Cooper and Jason Clements ( A Cowboy Under The Mistletoe 3), Becca Loftis (The Cowboy Meets His Match 4), Caleb Watson (Her Christmas Cowboy 5), as well as Holly’s younger sister Polly, and a cameo by Adam’s brother Mike.

HOLLY JOLLY COWBOY is a story of betrayal and vengeance, misunderstanding and heart break, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is affectionate and tender; the characters are strong-willed, independent and determined.

ExcerptAdam Calhoun did his best to ignore their waitress as he took off his hat and hung it on a peg near the door. It was clear she loathed him and was pretending for the tip. He hated that sort of thing, and it just made him want to stiff her even more. She was so obvious about it, too, her smile fake and sweet as she poured cups of coffee and took orders. She didn’t even glance at him as she took his down, just focused on her pad as she wrote. She had plenty of smiles for Carson and Jason, though, which just irked him.It wasn’t that he was ugly. Most women thought he was nice-looking. Adam was just vain enough to know that he had a good smile and a decent personality, and that usually let him get the attention of most women he flirted with. Most. Because waitress Holly was probably the prettiest thing in this town-and several others around-and yet she couldn’t stand him. He drained his coffee cup while the others ordered and then held it in the air, a silent request for more.

Her eyes flashed with anger momentarily, and it was quickly covered up by that fake smile again. “Be right back.”

She hustled off, her round bottom shaking with every step, and okay, he was red-blooded male enough to watch.

“Now you’re just baiting her,” Jason commented, sipping his own cup.

Maybe he was. There was something about Holly that drove him absolutely up a wall. Maybe it was that she was always all smiles, even when she clearly didn’t feel like it. Her clothes were a little tighter than they probably should have been, her festive red sweater practically painted on her lush figure, and her jeans showing off her curves. Her dark brown hair was pulled up into a bouncy long ponytail atop her head and fastened with a big, garish Christmas bow. She looked festive and flirty and it irked him.

Maybe it was that the first time he’d come in, she’d flirted up a storm with him and so he’d tipped well. He’d even come back later that night, after thinking about her all afternoon, only to see her flirting with another customer like she’d done with him, and he’d realized it was all for tips. It made him angry. Made him feel stupid. So he’d left a dollar.

He’d left a dollar ever since, too. Just to make a statement.

He had a dollar sitting in his wallet today, waiting for the opportunity to poke at her again.

Holly brought back the coffee, taking his mug with a cool expression and filling it quickly. “Separate checks today, boys?”

Jason raised a finger before Adam could answer. “One check. I’m paying for lunch today.”

“In that case, make my sandwich a double,” Adam drawled. “Didn’t know it was free.”

The waitress’s demeanor brightened. “Well, aren’t you sweet, Jason Clements.” She winked at him. “You want me to pack up a sandwich for your lovely wife, too? The bread’s nice and fresh and I can make hers with extra pickles, just as she likes.”

Jason nodded. “That’s a great idea. Thanks.”

“I’ll have it ready by the time you leave.” She touched Carson’s shoulder, then leaned over him to pour his coffee, and Adam found himself staring at her tits. She wasn’t shoving them in anyone’s face but . . . how did she expect a man to concentrate when she wore a sweater like that? Ridiculous. She patted Carson’s shoulder again, then turned and left, swanning her way to another table full of men. A moment later, her bright laughter floated through the saloon, and it made him grit his teeth.

Jill Myles has been an incurable romantic since childhood. She reads all the ‘naughty parts’ of books first, looks for a dirty joke in just about everything, and thinks to this day that the Little House on the Prairie books should have been steamier.

After devouring hundreds of paperback romances, mythology books, and archaeological tomes, she decided to write a few books of her own – stories with a wild adventure, sharp banter, and lots of super-sexy situations. She prefers her heroes alpha and half-dressed, her heroines witty, and she loves nothing more than watching them overcome adversity to fall into bed together.
