Description:
If home is where the heart is, Dogwood County may have just what Delaney Monroe needs

Newly retired from the Marine Corps, Delaney is looking for somewhere to start over. It’s not going to be easy, but when she finds the perfect place to open her dream motorcycle shop, she goes for it. What she doesn’t expect is an abandoned pit bull to come with the building. The shy pup is slow to trust, but Delaney is determined to win it over.

Detective Sean Callahan is smitten from the moment he sees Delaney, but her cool demeanor throws him off his game. When her late father’s vintage motorcycle is stolen from Delaney’s shop, Sean gets to turn up in his element: chasing the bad guy and showing his best self to a woman who’s gotten under his skin in a bad way.

Delaney isn’t used to lasting relationships, but letting love in—both human and canine—helps her see that she may have found a place she belongs, forever.

Review:

Forever Home by Elysia Whisler is the second book in her Dogwood County series, which centers on rescue dogs and former marines. We meet Delaney Monroe, our heroine, who has just moved to Dogwood, and is a former Marine.  Delaney opens up her dream motorcycle shop, with an apartment above; she is a motorcycle expert, having learned everything from her deceased father.  Delaney is surprised to see a pit bull sneaking in her shop, and learns that the dog formerly lived in the back room.  She learns from Sunny (one of previous book heroines), who runs the dog rescue, that the people who owned the shop before were not nice to the dog (formerly called Sinbad), but Delaney renames him Wyatt.

Detective Sean Callahan meets Delaney at the gym and is immediately attracted to her, even though Delaney isn’t interested.  Things do change when Delaney’s father’s vintage motorcycle is stolen, she and Sean work together to find the culprit, and a friendship builds.  They suspect the two former owners of the shop, who are nasty young men, but there is no proof.

I loved seeing the wonderful characters from the previous book, Sunny, Constance, Rhett, Pete to name a few.  The relationship between Delaney and Sean heats up in the second half of the book, as the chemistry between them was hot.  There is a second possible romance between newcomer Tabitha, who suffers from PDST from her time in the marine corps, where she originally met Delaney.  She meets Hobbs at the gym, and we can see a slow build possible romance between them.  I loved the dog Trinity, who was Tabitha’s trained rescue dog.

What follows is a sweet romance, wonderful couples, heartwarming and emotional story, that also has a mystery as to who stole the motorcycle, which will be a surprise.  Forever Home is a story that pulls on so many emotions, as well as finding love and happiness.  If you enjoy stories with great couples and dogs, you need to read this book.  Very well written by Elysia Whisler.

ONE
Three Rebels Street.
Delaney should’ve known that this was where she’d end up. This was the kind of street a woman went down when all the big changes in her life were happening at once. You simply couldn’t hit a retirement ceremony, the road and a fu¬neral all in one week and not end up on Three Rebels Street.
“Small is not the right word. I prefer quaint.” The real estate agent, Ronnie, gazed around the studio apartment situated on Three Rebels Street, and nodded her head in approval. “You said it was just for you, right? Which means it’s the perfect size.”
Stop trying to sell me on the apartment. Ronnie had described it as an “alcove studio”—not just a studio—because even though the living room and kitchen were all in one large space, the bedroom was situated in a little nook, with its own door. Delaney didn’t care. The living quarters didn’t really matter. Right now the place was dumpy. Dust everywhere, the ceil¬ing fan hanging crooked with exposed wires, and debris in the corners, like the previous tenants hadn’t taken care of the place and then left in a hurry.
“We didn’t have a chance to get this cleaned before your showing,” Ronnie said, following Delaney’s gaze. “Remem¬ber, I suggested waiting until Friday.”
But Delaney hadn’t been able to wait.
Ronnie lowered her voice to a near whisper. “They were evicted. But this place cleans up nice, I promise.”
“Can we go back down to the shop?” Delaney ran her hands through her hair, rubbing the weariness from her scalp. Ron¬nie had whisked them through the front bay door and up the stairs, like the apartment was the prize inside the cereal box. And Delaney supposed it was—small, an add-on, not really the point. For Delaney, the shop downstairs was the entire point.
“Of course.” Ronnie’s voice was bright, forced, like she didn’t give two shits. This was probably her last showing of the day and she wanted to get home, into a hot bath with a glass of red as soon as possible. She clacked down the stairs in her high heels.
Delaney followed, the earthy clunk of her motorcycle boots the bass drum in the cacophony of their feet.
“The shop.” Ronnie swept out her arm. “Look how much space.” There was no enthusiasm in her voice. Ronnie, who probably did mostly living spaces, had no idea how to sell the garage.
Didn’t matter. Delaney sized up the shop herself: concrete floor, perfect for working on bikes. It was kind of dinged up, but that was okay, she was already envisioning painting it beige with nonslip floor paint. Modern fluorescent lighting. Large bay door, wide-open to the cool air, excellent for ven¬tilation. A countertop with a register. Empty shelves on one side for parts and motor clothes. Showroom space for custom bikes, and enough room for at least two workspaces out front. The rest, Delaney would provide. Hydraulic lifts. Workbench. Parts tank. Tools. Parts. Bikes.
She wanted to pinch herself, but chose a poker face. Ron¬nie stood in the center of the floor, like she was trying to avoid touching anything, to avoid getting any grease or oil on her smart red suit. The shop was in better condition than the apartment, but it still looked like the last occupants had left quickly—or, if they’d truly been evicted, perhaps reluctantly was a better word. Nothing important remained, but the place hadn’t been swept or washed or readied for sale in any manner.
“I’ll consider this.” Delaney rubbed her chin as she strode through the shop. “It’s a little small.” It was actually larger than she’d expected. “Light’s good, but might get a little cold in the winter.” It was winter now, technically. Mid-March. Delaney loved this time of year, when winter and spring inter-sected, like lovers making up after a nasty fight, the weather edgy and unpredictable.
“There’s a lot of interest in this space.” Ronnie clutched her clipboard to her chest as she looked around. She could be look¬ing at the inside of a spaceship and hold that same expression.
Motorcycle shops were going out of business, all over the place, including the one that had recently vacated. After sud¬denly finding herself on Three Rebels Street last week, in front of a shop-apartment combo for sale, Delaney had done her research. The previous tenants, who she now knew had been evicted, were brothers who ran a shop by day and lived upstairs by night. They sold mostly new bikes and motorcycle gear. Repairs and maintenance were basic. Their website was still up, despite the fact that Dude’s Bikes had closed. Dude’s appeared to focus mostly on male riders, leaving Delaney to wonder if Dude’s was just about dudes or if one of the own¬ers was, indeed, named Dude.
“What’s the story on this place?”
Ronnie glanced at her clipboard. “The owner wants to sell. After the last renters’ lease ran out, they were given the op¬tion of buying or moving. I don’t think their shop was doing well, because they couldn’t afford to buy. They weren’t even paying their rent. And they weren’t quick about moving. The rest, as they say, is history.”
If the last motorcycle shop had failed, buying would be a gamble. But any business venture was a gamble.
Life was a gamble.
“There are a couple of people looking, after you.” Ronnie continued, “About five.”
Delaney could respect white lies in the sales biz but seri¬ously? Five? Five or so people were waiting to check out the bike shop with an overhead apartment suitable for one small, low-maintenance tenant? She had no idea how two brothers had managed up there.
She strolled through the space, wanting a good feel. She needed to touch things, inhale the shop, draw its molecules into her lungs and taste its history before she could decide on the symbiosis of her dream space. Triple M Classics—short for Martin Monroe’s Motorcycles, named after her father—would own her as much as she would it, so this relationship was going to be deep and mutual. Through the front window, she could see the parkway that ran the length of the county. At just past eighteen-hundred hours, rush hour was a jam of red taillights in the waning daylight. No amount of time would erase Delaney’s memory of her last tour here, when she had to commute to work every day. Pure hell. It would be nice to go right upstairs to her cozy little apartment after closing, rather than having to sit in that mess.
Across the street was a row of shops, including a grocery story and an Italian restaurant. Food. Check.
On the south side, the shop butted up to the woods, which had a downward slope of grass and weeds that led to the trees. Privacy. Double check. Plus, Delaney figured if there was a tornado, that slope could count as a ditch, and would probably be the safest place to run. She laughed at herself. This wasn’t Omaha. Virginia tornado season consisted of a few warnings that rarely panned out.
Delaney withdrew the listing, printed from the internet, from her back pocket, crammed together with a grocery re¬ceipt for extra firm tofu, Tater Tots and Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia. “This is the price, right?” She handed over the paper. Money would be tight, but Delaney should be able to man-age for a little while until things got going.
That is, if she was going to do this.
Was she really going to do this?
All her adult life Delaney had moved around, from station to station. Forts, camps, bases. Not shops. Not homes. She’d never put down roots. Never had anything permanent other than her childhood home with Dad. Never owned a thing she couldn’t cram into a duffel bag.
Ronnie looked at the paper. “No.” She sniffed. “There’s a newer listing.” She flipped through her clipboard, laid it on the counter and pointed. “Here we go.”
Delaney looked at the asking price, choked a little bit, al¬most thanked Ronnie for her time and left. That would be the smart thing to do. Sometimes childhood dreams just needed to stay dreams.
She strode around once more, mentally saying goodbye to everything that she’d never even made hers. Even though all of this had been a panster move, it felt like all the blood in her veins had been replaced with disappointment. She stopped by the far wall, where a ratty piece of paper hung by a sliver
of tape. Delaney smoothed out the curled edges and read the flyer.
Fiftieth Annual Classic Motorcycle Show.
Dogwood County Fairgrounds.
The event was in July. There was a contest, including prizes. The grand prize for the winning classic cycle was five grand plus a feature article in Ride magazine.
The disappointment started to drain away. Five grand wouldn’t pay all the bills, but exposure in a major motorcycle magazine would be a boon for business. Plus, there was some¬thing about that poster, just hanging there like that.
It seemed like a sign.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 18, 2021.

Dakota

Annabelle Stewart, all tight leather skirt and hot lace panties, thundered into my life for one night after a rock show and calmly drove away the next day. She should have been like any other one-night stand I’ve had over the last ten years touring with Balefire. But she wasn’t. At odd moments, I catch myself thinking about her, wondering if I made as big an impression on her as she did on me.

Then I walk into the rehearsal for our drummer’s wedding, and who’s standing with the bride? The hottie who keeps me awake with thoughts of our one night together. Beautiful, smart, and sassy as hell, Annabelle sets me on fire with her kisses and leaves me hanging. But I’ve got plans for her.

Annabelle

I never expected to see him again. Two years after hooking up with Dakota Perri after a Balefire concert, I’d convinced myself that night was a fantasy. But the way he looks at me during Jack and Clio’s wedding, like he remembers every second of our one-night stand, lights me up. Too bad I blew it.

Then I score an management internship with the band, an opportunity guaranteed to land me a scholarship with a top graduate program—if I don’t earn a reputation for sleeping my way to success. Which is a problem. I see Dakota every day. Every time we’re together, the sparks fly faster and hotter. If I want to achieve my goals, I have to resist him. But how can I resist a man as panty-meltingly hot as Dakota Perri when he says he’s wild for me?

••••••

REVIEW:  WILD FOR ME is the third instalment in Tam DeRudder Jackson’s contemporary, adult BALEFIRE erotic, rock star romance series focusing on the members of the rock band Balefire. This is twenty-eight year old lead guitarist for Balefire Dakota Perri, and management intern Annabelle Stewart’s story line. WILD FOR ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Annabelle and Dakota) WILD FOR ME follows the second chance romance and relationship between twenty-eight year old lead guitarist for Balefire Dakota Perri, and management intern Annabelle Stewart. Two years earlier Annabelle Stewart spent one glorious night with our story line hero but walked away the next morning, leaving only her panties behind. Fast forward to present day where Annabelle would reconnect with Dakota at Clio and Jack’s (PLAY FOR ME) wedding, a reconnection that would lead to Annabelle working as a management intern for the band but all is not well when Annabelle suspects a problem with the band’s manager, a problem directed at our story line heroine. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Annabelle and Dakota, and the potential fallout as Dakota becomes suspicious of Annabelle and her unlikely intentions.

Dakota Perri never forgot about the one that got away, and reconnecting with Annabelle meant the stars and planets had aligned. Now that Annabelle had been hired to work with the band, Dakota ‘s attraction to Annabelle did not go unnoticed and in this, behind the scenes jealousy and betrayal were about to destroy our story line couple.

The relationship between Dakota and Annabelle is one of second chances, second chances that will all but be shattered with issues of trust brought on by someone else.Annabelle had fallen in love with our story line hero but neither one would admit to forever or something more. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, we are introduced to the members of Balefire: Adam Tron; Blu Connolly and Ashleigh Baker (Sing For Me 2), Jack Whitehorse and his fiancé Clio Barnes (Play for Me #1), as well as their manager Garrett Phillips,PA Caroline Zanetti; Annabelle’s sister Emma, their parents Alan and Ellie Stewart, and Dakota’s father Rich Perri. The back and forth between band members, as well as their significant others is real and heart warming.

WILD FOR ME is a story of power and control, jealousy and envy, second chances, misunderstanding, issues of trust, love and forgiveness. The premise is dramatic and edgy with moments of fun; the characters are spirited, energetic and impulsive; the romance is sensual and provocative yet at times, heart breaking and sad.

The Christmas Wedding Guest by Susan Mallery – a Review

Description:
The Somerville sisters believe in love, but they’ve lost faith it will happen for them. Reggie hasn’t been home since the end of the world’s shortest engagement. When her parents decide to renew their vows, she buffs up her twinkle to help with the Christmas wedding. Unexpectedly, Toby, her first love, is back too, and the spark between them shines as brightly as ever. In the spirit of the season, will they let go of past hurts and greet the New Year together?

Done waiting for the one, Dena is pregnant and on her own—on purpose. But then a gorgeous, sad-eyed songwriter checks in to a room at her inn. Micah, unable to write since he lost his wife, finds inspiration in Dena’s determination to be a mom. One snowflake-speckled kiss and he’s a goner. But Dena is afraid to believe that a rock star could fall for a cookie-cutter small-town girl like her.

As the Christmas wedding draws closer, these two sisters just might unwrap the most treasured gift of all—love.

Review:

The Christmas Wedding Guest by Susan Mallery is a wonderful delightful holiday novel.  The story centers on the Sommerville Sisters, Reggie & Dena, who both have given up on finding true love.

Reggie works and lives in Seattle, and when she learns her parents are renewing their vows, she agrees to return home to Wishing Tree, Washington for the holidays (Thanksgiving/Christmas) to help. Reggie has not been home for a year, since her bad breakup (short engagement), avoiding the gossip in her home town; she drives back to Wishing Tree with her wonderful dog Belle (Great Dane). Dena is the oldest sister, and very well-liked teacher in Wishing Tree, who is also pregnant (artificial insemination), since she had no hope of finding the right man for her; though she is suffering early pregnancy symptoms, such as nausea.    Dena is also the owner of a B&B she inherited from her grandmother (Reggie got money); having a great manager and a wonderful chef.

It was wonderful to see the closeness between Reggie and Dena, and the wonderful friends they shared.  Reggie runs into her former high school boyfriend, Toby, who has a sweet 8-year-old son, whom Belle (Reggie’s dog) falls in love with.  Their friendship and attraction resumes, though Toby having had issues in the past, is afraid of any kind of permanent relationship.

Dena finds herself attracted to one of the guests, who is not only a hunk and charming, and to her surprise, a famous singer/songwriter.  Micah enjoys Dena’s company, and even though she is pregnant, he finds himself falling for her. Dena also feels the attraction, but tries not to fall for him, as she has no confidence that he would be interested in her, especially being pregnant.

What follows is a delightful, heartwarming, fun romance, with a fantastic group of characters; two wonderful couples; a fantastic dog, who had cute holiday outfits; girls friends, who were great; mother & father; Harrison (Toby’s cute son), etc.  I loved both sisters, who were terrific. Micah finds his inspiration again, knowing that Dena was the one for him.   Toby knows he has to get past his past issues, and with help from his son and Reggie, true love will prevail

The Christmas Wedding Guest was a fabulous holiday story, filled with family, love, friends, dogs and second chances.  This was very well written by Susan Mallery. I suggest you read The Christmas Wedding Guest.

I did not set out to be a mafia wife.
I came into this home, into this life as a hostage.
He was nothing more than my captor.
A murderer. A criminal. A monster.
Until he was more than that.
He took me as payment for a debt. Nothing more than a pawn in an intricate game of lies, manipulation and death.
He saw the darkness in me. It called to him. Just like his wretched soul called to me.
He was king of the underworld.
And he wanted me to be his queen.
But despite how much the most depraved parts of me wanted that crown, I knew I only had one option.
Take the Catalano family down.
Or die trying.

•••••••

REVIEW:How is this Anne Malcom’s first foray into the mafia genre? It’s so good! As a long time fan of all of Anne’s books, A Thousand Cuts is a fantastic addition to her repertoire.

From page one, ATC pulls you in with complex characters, killer chemistry and hot sexy scences that will spice up the imagination. Cristian is an over the top alpha, he’s dark and gritty and the hold he has on Sienna; its…carnal. If Cristian is dark Sienna is light, but with her own shadows. Their connection is on another level, more than just steamy scenes, more emotional and intimate.

It was super brave of Anne to dip her toes into the mafia subgenre, and boy oh boy did she knock it out of the park. The characters are awesome, as the plot progresses and the twists and turns happen, as a reader you can’t help but want to know the ending, but be sad at the same time that it’s going to end. I really hope that Lucia and Lorenzo get a story, I feel like Anne left it open to happen. Oh and definitely more Felix!

If you’re looking for a dark, depraved, steamy romance, then look no further than Anne Malcom’s A Thousands Cuts. Four Stars!

But once again, her father denies Liam the lass he lost his heart to years ago.

Daughter of the Laird of the Stewart clan, Evelyn is expected to perform her daughter’s duty, including marry for the better of the clan…. even if that’s against her will. But upon learning her father plans to trade her to an unknown clan in exchange for cattle, she will do almost anything to escape the future set out before her— including running away and marrying Liam MacKinlay.

Liam’s discovering that beneath Evelyn’s sweet disposition is an iron will to match any warrior. But now their marriage may start a war between the clans and Liam must fight for his new wife and his family. Even if it means raising his sword against those he calls “kin”…

Review:

Her Forbidden Highlander Husband begins Evelyn Stewart being summoned to her father’s study. Once she arrives, her father, the Laird of the Stewart clan, informs her that she is to marry someone from a neighboring clan in order to obtain cattle to replenish their dwindling herd. Her heart sinks as she can’t bear the thought any man ever touching her again after being kidnapped and “ruined”. She also knows that once her father makes up his mind, he cannot be deterred. Just as she doesn’t understand why he seems to blame her for her kidnapping, she also doesn’t understand why he acts as he no longer loves her. She is told she will be married by summer’s end and there is nothing she can do about it, other than to honor her father’s wishes.

Liam MacKinlay, war chief of the clan MacKinlay, arrives see the Laird of the Stewart clan to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage……. for the third time. Liam had met Evelyn Stewart when he and his clan had helped rescue Evelyn from a horrible predicament and he had escorted her home. It, for him, was love at first sight. When he arrives and is shown into the Laird’s study, he once again askes for Evelyn’s hand in marriage and he is once again turned down.

Liam, heartbroken and dejected, heads to the barn to get his horse and leave. When he turns to leave, he finds none other than Evelyn Stewart, bag in hand, standing before him. To add to his shock, she informs him that she wants to marry him and leave with him right away. Having always wanted his own family, after being abandoned by his own and never knowing them, they are married right away. On their way out of town, Evelyn asks to make one more stop, and Liam obliges his new bride, only to have her emerge with something that changes everything.

Once they head back to Liam’s home, it doesn’t take long for them both to wonder if they had made a huge mistake. Liam knows and even understands why Evelyn is skittish around men. Evelyn knows in her heart that she can trust Liam, but it’s her mind that needs convincing. Once they arrive back on MacKinlay land, the real test begins. They just hope that a clan war doesn’t begin as well.

Her Forbidden Highlander Husband is a well written story that pulls you in from the beginning. Evelyn’s backstory is hard to read at times but handled beautifully. Liam’s backstory may be easier to read, but it’s heartbreaking. I do think that Evelyn’s outbursts were a bit over the top at times, but after I reminded myself of what she’d been through, it made more sense. The twists and surprises that present themselves will endear this book to all who read it. You may also shed a tear or two. If you’re a fan of the genre, you’ll enjoy this just as I did. Well done, Allison B. Hanson!!!!

But the ruling families, all boasting genetically enhanced abilities, are in constant competition for power—and none more so than the Adlers and the Baenas. For generations, the powerful families have pushed and pulled each other in a dance for dominance.

Until a catastrophic betrayal from within changes everything.

Now, deadly, disciplined, and solitary leaders Ramona Adler and Matias Baena must put aside their enmity and work together in secret to prevent sinister forces from exploiting universe-altering technology. Expecting to suffer through their uneasy alliance, Ramona and Matias instead discover that they understand each other as no one in their families can—and that their combined skills may eclipse the risks of their forbidden alliance.

As the two warriors risk their lives to save their families, they must decide whether to resist or embrace the passion simmering between them. For now, the dance between their families continues—but just one misstep could spell the end of them both.

Review:

Fated Blades by Ilona Andrews is the 3rd book in their Kinsmen series.  I am a big fan of Ilona Andrews (Ilona and Gordon Andrews), as I have read all their books, and always loving each of their series.  Fated Blades is a fascinating sci-fi paranormal story, that takes place on the planet Rada; with ruling families in control.  The families are Secare, which gives them unique enhanced genetical abilities (bodies that with mental thoughts can bring out from their arms, swords, blades, shields and other weapons) that make them unbeatable. The top three secare families (Baena, Adler and Davenport) compete against each other and consider themselves enemies, and never deal with each other.

When Matias Baena, our hero, and leads his family, he gets a surprise shocking visit.  Ramona Adler, our heroine, is the leader of her family, and she is the surprise visitor.  They both will learn that their significant others have betrayed them, wiping out each of the families’ assets.  Despite the intense family feud, Ramona and Matias team up to find their significant other and reclaim the stolen assets.

Ramona was a fantastic heroine, able to stand up and equal Matias’ abilities; she is strong, savvy, smart, compassionate, and powerful.  Matias is the quiet type, totally in control of his family; he was a bit cold early on, but that changes fast, as he recognizes how good Ramona is.  With the danger and evil forces in front of them, they made a great team, which increases in a short time, when they began to trust each other. I loved when they synchronized their dance fight scenes, making them know each of the moves to destroy the enemy. The fighting scenes were exciting and amazing, as it was fast and furious throughout each battle, with them risking their lives to save the families. Because of all the action and details, this is a difficult story to review, especially without ruining it for you.

Fated Blades was a fantastic story, that was exciting, intense and keeping me glued to my kindle. Matias and Ramona were so great throughout the entire book, and slowly the chemistry began to sizzle between them.   Ilona Andrews once again gives us a sensational story, so very well written, with two wonderful heroes, great world building, and very good secondary characters.  I devoured this book in less than a day.   If you are not reading Ilona Andrews, you are missing one of the best authors.

REVIEW:JACOB is the first instalment in Victoria Jayne’s contemporary, adult ODIN’S FURY MC erotic, MC, romance series. This is twenty three year old Jacob ‘Romeo’ Karolsson, and waitress Sparrow Malone’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Sparrow and Jacob) using present day and memories from the past, JACOB follows the second chance romance and relationship between twenty three year old Jacob ‘Romeo’ Karolsson, and waitress Sparrow Malone. Seven years earlier, Jacob fell in love with his best friend Sparrow but life happened and Sparrow disappeared without a trace. Fast forward to present day wherein Jacob Karolsson, and his Odin’s Fury Montana enforcer Dash have been tasked with checking out the Ohio chapter of the Roughneck Riders MC, a struggling MC but club with potential to patch over to the Odin’s Fury MC. Enter Sparrow Malone, a waitress at the Broken Spoke, a biker bar owned by the Roughneck Riders, whose father was a member of the Roughneck Riders MC, and the woman about whom Jacob Karolsson has never stopped thinking. What ensues is Jacob’s desperate attempts to woo back the woman he lost seven years earlier but a woman who is now the girlfriend and potential ole lady to Michael ‘Pipes’ Barton, a prospect for the Roughneck Riders’ MC.

Sparrow Malone’s father gave his life for the Roughneck Riders MC, and therefore Sparrow considers herself part of the family. With the appearance of Jacob Karolsson, old memories threaten Sparrow’s relationship with Pipes, a man who is about to spiral out of control. Hoping to get eventually work the books for the Roughneck Riders MC, Sparrow works diligently to get her diploma, but life had other plans for out story line heroine.

The relationship between Sparrow and Jacob is one of second chances: a rekindling relationship wherein Jacob’s attempts at seduction are met with derision and scorn. Sparrow is unable to deny her attraction to the man /boy she left years before but her life is now in Ohio, with the Roughneck Riders MC. The lone ‘$ex’ scene is furious and fast.

We are introduced to Odin’s Fury enforcer Dash, as well as several members of the Roughneck Riders MC including their president Bowie, Tut, and Sparrow’s boyfriend Michael ‘Pipes’ Barton.

JACOB is a slow building story of second chances and obsession, as our hero struggles to accept that the love of his life has moved on; and a heroine who has never stopped loving the man she can no longer have. The premise is edgy but primarily focuses on Jacob and Sparrow’s backstory and current non-relationship -I was hoping there would have been a little more buildup of the MC framework for upcoming instalments as it appears the Roughneck Riders are about to implode but saying that their story has only just begun and continues in book two SPARROW; the characters are tragic and spirited; the romance struggles in the face of diverging paths.

JACOB end on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned-Jacob and Sparrow’s story continues in book two SPARROW.

Regrets. She has a few.

Nothing went how Sparrow Malone planned. Her boyfriend didn’t get clean. She didn’t take the entrance exam, and the motorcycle club her father had been a part of is crumbling. To add insult to injury, Jacob didn’t stay in Montana.

Screw him over once, shame on her. Do it twice, shame on him. Jacob gave up on Sparrow when he left without her two years ago. But Odin’s Fury Motorcycle Club still had business in Ohio, which meant he did too.

The first time, it wasn’t their fault. Their second chance didn’t end well. While both swore never to repeat past mistakes, they can’t help themselves.

With the two clubs merging into one, it’s either going to be third time’s a charm or three strikes and they’re out.

REVIEW: SPARROW is the second instalment in Victoria Jayne’s contemporary ODIN’S FURY MC erotic, MC, romance series. This is the continuing story of twenty six year old Jacob ‘Romeo’ Karolsson, and waitress Sparrow Malone. SPARROW should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up approximately two years after the cliff hanger of book one JACOB.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Sparrow and Jacob) using present day and memories from the past, SPARROW picks up approximately two years after the events of book one JACOB wherein Jacob aka Romeo Karolsson, had returned to Ohio to claim the woman he had always loved but Sparrow had made up her mind, and chose to remain with Pipes, the prospect, from the Roughneck Riders MC. Fast forward to present day wherein Jacob was now an official member of the hierarchy of the Odin’s Fury MC, and Sparrow’s life with with Pipes had gradually degraded and our heroine would suffer the brunt of her lover’s addictions and fury. With the return of the Odin’s Fury MC to Ohio, the Roughneck Riders were no more, and Sparrow was about to suffer at the hands of the man she thought she had loved. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Jacob and Sparrow, and the rebuilding and cleanup of the once powerful Roughneck Riders MC.

The relationship between Sparrow and Jacob continues to be a second chance romance but this time Sparrow knows that Jacob is the man she has always loved. When Jacob returns to claim Sparrow as his own, Sparrow will suffer at the hands of another man who has also laid claim to our story line heroine. The $ex scene is intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Most of the previous story line characters return, as well as Jacob’s father and Odin’s Fury MC VP Tex, Roughneck Rider’s road captain Rooster, SAA Clark, Monty, Teller, Sparrow’s mother Dixie, and Jacob’s friend and Odin’s Fury new SAA Daniel ‘Dash’ Bowden.

SPARROW is a story of abuse and addiction, second chances and acceptance, changes and moving forward. The world building focuses on the clean up and take down of the Roughneck Riders MC, and the patchover of the men who would now claim Odin’s Fury MC as brothers in arms. The fast paced premise is graphic and gritty; the romance is captivating; the characters are charismatic and energetic. DASH’s story is next.

Their scenes can light the world on fire. He brings out her submission and makes her feel safe. But Liz struggles with the risks of trusting him.

REVIEW:DASH is the third instalment in Victoria Jayne’s contemporary adult ODIN’S FURY MC erotic, MC romance series. This is former military medic/Sargent at Arms turned VP thirty-two year old, Daniel ‘Dash’ Bowden, and twenty-eight year old nurse Liz ‘Gingersnap’ Martin’s storyline. DASH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, including scenes of bondage, spanking, Dom/sub and BDSM, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dash and Liz) DASH focuses on Dash’s journey back to Akron where the Odin’s Fury Ohio chapter is struggling with the impending death of their long-time president. Assuming the position of temporary VP, Dash, along with the other members of Odin’s Fury struggle to make sense of the loss, the shake up in the MC hierarchy, and the possible betrayal from within. Meanwhile, Daniel ‘Dash’ Bowden’s life outside of the MC is that of a Dominant, and our hero, has been looking for a suitable partner for play. Enter twenty-eight year old nurse Liz ‘Gingersnap’ Martin. What ensues is the building ‘fet life’ relationship between Daniel aka PRK, and our story line heroine, and the potential fall-out as a betrayal to the club means lives will be forfeited but at what cost?

DASH is a story that focuses on the impending death of a respected man but a death that is about to push Odin’s Fury into chaos. Dash, along with his MC brother Romeo, is only in Ohio for a short period of time but with one brother missing, and several more actively betraying the MC membership, Dash finds himself anxious and stressed in the wake of grief, loss, and deception. Needing an ‘outlet’ ,Dash actively seeks a suitable submissive, and finds exactly what he is looking for in our story line heroine.

The relationship between Dash and Liz is very slow to develop as our couple spend most of the story line apart, as the author is developing their back story, history and pathway towards a future. Our couple have no inclinations, at this time, towards a romantic entanglement; most of their interaction has been virtual or online with only a couple of physical play times toward the second half of the book. All $exual scenarios involve BDSM, and Dom/sub play.

We are introduced to Liz’s best friend Anemone aka Ane, whose speciality is rope play, as well as the return of several members of Odin’s Fury MC, Ohio chapter.

DASH is a story death and grief, betrayal and vengeance, BDSM and Dom/sub roles. The slow building premise is inviting and intriguing; the characters are charismatic and impassioned; the romance is limited. DASH ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned. Dash and Gingersnap’s story continues in GINGERSNAP.
