REVIEW:CLAIMED BY THE CYBORGS is the ninth instalment in Grace Goodwin’s adult INTERSTELLAR BRIDES: THE COLONY erotic, sci-fi, romance series. This is former Prince and Prillon warrior Thomar Arcas, his second Captain Varin Mordin, and twenty-three year old, human female Danika Gray’s story line. CLAIMED BY THE CYBORGS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary.

Told from three first person perspectives (Thomar, Varin and Danika) CLAIMED BY THE CYBORGS follows human female Danika Gray as she is matched to Prillon warrior as part of the interstellar brides program. Not only will Danika be mated to Thomar but also to Thomar’s second Varin Mordin but all is not well with Danika’s intended mates, as Thomar’s mind remains connected to the hive, and the connection is slowly destroying his mind. REVIEW: FIANCEE BY CHRISTMAS is the first in instalmen in Taryn Quinn’s contemporary, adult HAPPY ACRES erotic, romance series, a spin off /companion to the author’s Crescent Cove/Found In Oblivion/Lost in Oblivion series. This is billionaire tech whiz/Christmas tree farmer Clay Winslow, and former event planner Rachel Doyle’s story line. You do not have to have read the aforementioned series. Rachel is cousin Lila Crandall (Lost in Oblivion).

Told from dual first person perspectives (Rachel and Clay) FIANCEE BY CHRISTMAS follows the building romance and relationship between billionaire tech whiz/Christmas tree farmer Clay Winslow, and former event planner Rachel Doyle. Rachel Doyle’s life as an event planner imploded the day she had a panic attack, and the media were relentless and unforgiving. Working at her aunt’s ranch meant staying off the grid, taking time for herself but Rachel never expected to meet the new owner of the Christmas tree farm, a handsome man with secrets of his own. As Rachel sets a plan into motion to bring more people to the farm including a cocoa bus, Clay begins a slow seduction of the woman who is about to turn his world upside down. This is forty year old, single father Bodhi ‘Mad Dog’ Black, and twenty year old, Kaiya Walsh’s story line. THE DOG can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order. Some of the events of THE DOG cross over with and run parallel to some of the events in book two THE WOLF.

Fast forward one year, Kaiya struggles with Mad Dog’s ongoing rejection, and in this, takes some time for herself, returning to the Gypsy B*stards a stronger version of the woman she left behind, a woman who knows what she wants. Bodhi ‘Mad Dog’ Black has bided his time with Kaiya Walsh, having witnessed the abuse, first hand, of our story line heroine. Believing Kaiya isn’t ready for a permanent relationship, Mad Dog continues to push Kaiya away but our heroine finds herself looking after Bodhi’s children, children she will one day come to call her own. When another woman is attacked, the MC goes on the hunt for the people responsible but Mad Dog never expected that Kaiya would become fodder in a game of revenge. The relationship between Mad Dog and Kaiya is one of immediate attraction but Mad Dog refuses to cross an invisible knowing Kaiya needs time to heal. Kaija has all but thrown herself at our storyline hero but believes Mad Dog’s rejections are a sign that she is broken beyond repair. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate, and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters including elementary school vice prinicpal James Parsons; Bodhi’s ex-wife Darla; his children Tatum, Gunner and Kash; MC members MC president Pope O’Brien and his ole lady Storm Lin , club enforcer Wolf and his old lady Hadley; Sparrow, Luna and their son Gage, Beast, Justice,Viking; tattoo artist Laine, and his sister, woman’s counselor Irene.

THE DOG is a story of betrayal and revenge, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is edgy; the romance is provocative; the characters are dynamic and inspiring.

This is RBMC enforcer Adam ‘Siege’ Young, and twenty year old, nursing student Harmony King’s story line. THE ENFORCER’S HOLIDAY PACKAGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Harmony and Siege) THE ENFORCER’S HOLIDAY PACKAGE follows a case of mistaken identity, and a secret baby. Harmony King’s twin sister Amber is wanted by the Russian Bratva but Amber is dead, and Harmony is about to pay the price for sins of the past. With her sister’s infant son Gabriel left to her care, Harmony goes to find Adam Young, the child’s father, and hopefully, the man who can rescue our heroine from the Russian mob. What ensues is the quick building sexual relationship between Harmony and Siege as Siege believes our heroine is Amber King, and the fall-out as the Russian Bratva continue to target our story line heroine. As Harmony finds refuge at a local B&B, the proprietor Soul, suffers at the hands of the men looking fore revenge.

The relationship between Siege and Harmony is quick to develop. Within hours of meeting Siege and Harmony are physical with one another, while the Russian Bratva are only minutes behind. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense; Siege wants to be called Daddy, and our couple both like it rough in the bedroom.

We are reintroduced to former Fire Chief Brimstone, the woman he loves Soul, as well as several members of the RBMC and their Prez Bulldog. Brim and Soul’s story line is next.

THE ENFORCER’S HOLIDAY PACKAGE is a fast paced, short read that sees another RBMC member find his own happily ever after. The MC is gearing up for a potential war with the Russian Bratva, as no conflict resolution came to fruition, and the Bratva plot line was overall, somewhat confusing and never truly explained. The premise is engaging but felt rushed; the romance is intimate and seductive but I struggle with the hero wanting to be called ‘daddy’, and calling the heroine his ‘sl*t’; the characters are energetic and dynamic but the development is limited. THE ENFORCER’S HOLIDAY PACKAGE was a bit of a struggle, somewhat confusing, needing a little more fleshing out.

My name is Crimson Syn, not really, but what fun is it to use my real name. Instead I’ll use my inner goddess’ name, it’s much more fun that way. I grew up in New York City where I had a wonderful education, loving parents and awesome friends. What more could a girl ask for?

I started writing at the age of sixteen. The first romance I read was Stephanie Laurens’ Devil’s Bride. Since then I have been influenced by dozens of flourishing romance authors and even more dashing and daring rogues. I must say it, but Fifty Shades was not my first erotic romance, nor did it influence me to start writing them. If you’ve never read Mary Balogh, Elizabeth Hoyt, Lisa Kleypas, Bertrice Small or A.N. Roquelaure’s Sleeping Beauty trilogy, then you’re missing out. Those were my sweet introductions to erotic romance, and boy were they hot.

So here I am, after reading so many wonderful stories, I have too many sinful tales of my own not to share. I like my alphas rough and possessive, and I have no shame in saying it or writing it. I had delightfully wicked teachers growing up, their books took me to new worlds and brought me new loves. So, I want to do the same for you. I want to indulge my readers in those steamy reads that will send them into the arms of dangerous alphas and deliciously sexy rogues, without leaving the confines of their nice warm bed. If I am able to entice your inner goddesses, then I have done my job and I am satisfied.

REVIEW:PRINTED PEOPLE is an adult, sci-fi, space opera by Dean C Moore that focuses on the fall-out of one brilliant but mad man’s desire to reunite with the woman he once loved but in doing so set into motion a series of events that would result in a catastrophic, universal tsunami of death and destruction.

Told in eleven acts, following several time lines, using intersecting and connected paths PRINTED PEOPLE focuses on immortality in the form of ‘ printed people’. In the early twenty-first century, genius Gunter Friq designed bioprinters that could be configured to ‘print’ hybrid lifeforms both silicon and carbon, in which one’s mind could be uploaded for a longer if not immortal life but Gunter’s earlier trials were a disastrous failure, claiming the lives of a billion people in a matter of days. In an effort to stop Gunter Friq, and the future fall-out of an inter-stellar war, womb-crawler, CRISPR modified warrior, engineered and omnipotent Elektra returns to the past to warn Bella, her younger self, that all is not well in the distant future, and the future of the universe is in the literal hands of two humans who must uncover the truth, and stop a madman before he destroys the world.

My only complaint is the overall length of book one. I think perhaps a three-part trilogy may have been easier to digest than all at once.

            He gulped. This time there was plenty of spit to spare. He’d spouted a regular Niagara, as his screwy nervous system, on overload for some time now, continued to overreact to his every thought.

            “War with whom!” he blurted.

            “There’s no one in Sol worthy of a four-dij general of her caliber, certainly not the other secret space programs, individually, or combined. That means she’ll be seeking something a bit more stimulating.”

REVIEW:A Fantasy/Dystopian style of book which was really good. A new author for me, and one I’ll be keeping an eye on. A fast paced book in which supernatural families fight to survive.

These families all have different abilities, and all think they are superior to one another.

We start with families fleeing their homes to a new island. It’s a scary time for everyone, characters are vying for leadership, some embrace it, whilst others don’t really want it.

It did remind me a little of swallows and Amazons, but with the characters being a little older it’s also a little like Robinson Crusoe. The squabbling within the families as they set up hierarchy was interesting. Each family is different and that was handy as you don’t want to get them mixed up.

Yarisha and Malakay are the main characters that are in this book. Both from opposing families, both aren’t really suppose to be together, Yarisha is a strong personality and a girl that knows her mind, a leader in her family (but she’s unsure of her role) she knows that she has to get the approval of Malakay’s mother (which is going to be near impossible) Malakay is a complex character who grows within this book.

Uniting families seem like the best plan, the more there are of you, the better your chances of survival. But if you despise everyone around you, how will that be possible?

Multiple points of view can sometimes confuse the reader (I know it does me?) but I never got that with this book, you know who is who with every word written. A complex world and it’s cast soon emerges, and your quickly drawn in.

We then also have the faction that wants to lead EVERYONE. He’s not a nice guy a d it soon emerges that he wants a harem to rebuild his family, but he’s looking at the other families to complete his harem! So that means there will be fighting as the families don’t really wave to give up women to his group!

We also have eyes that are watching the proceedings! Are these friends or foes?

I loved reading this book and hope there will be another as there are so many other characters and stories that could be told.

HAUNTED REAL ESTATE is a quick read; a novella length story that introduces Claire Montgomery and the man with whom she will fall in love, townie Jed Sprague. For years, stories surrounded the possibility of ghosts inhabiting her aunt’s old home, and a library research would reveal a heart breaking and sad story behind the original owners. The premise is simple and easy; the characters are delightful; the romance is implied.

My feet halted as my eyes caught a flash of movement on the stairs. Just a shadow, there and gone in a blink, disappearing beyond the banister before my mind could register what it had seen.
Quickly, I pushed my senses out, eyes and ears scanning for anything out of place. There was no creak of the stairs, no sound of movement beyond the occasional swish of bathwater. To the untrained ears and eyes, one would assume we were alone.
But I knew better. My sixth sense was telling me I wasn’t mistaken. I’d seen something. Before I could start calling myself crazy again, I decided enough was enough. It was time to investigate.
“There are no ghosts, Claire,” I reminded myself as I dug my phone out of my back pocket and located the flashlight mode, sending a blinding beam of light shooting across the floor.
Marching across the first floor to the foot of the stairs, I peered up the tall staircase, listening. Again, I was met with the same basic sounds. My heart was thudding harder than usual, my breath coming a little faster than I’d like, exposing my climbing nerves.
“Freaking Gary,” I said aloud, a reminder as much as a reassurance that ghosts didn’t exist and I was being ridiculous. It was obvious the only thing going on around here was the invasion of a mischievous feline. Nothing more.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are…” I hummed as I began climbing the stairs. They creaked under every foot, no matter how careful I tried to be. Yeah, there was no way a human could have traversed them without announcing to all and sundry their presence. “Mew, mew, mew, mew, mew.”
Yep, it was final. I was an idiot. Not exactly an animal person, I had no clue what I was doing. Did that even work on cats? I’d seen it while watching one of my favorite Ben Stiller movies and it made sense. Cats weren’t exactly complicated creatures. Offer a little treat and they came running.
Which reminded me I needed to put out some tuna.
So why the hell was I pursuing this thing when I could put forth far less effort and let it come to me?
Right, boredom. Almost forgot about that.
Continuing my assent, my foot crested the top stair when I heard the distinctive moaning creak of a door closing. My eyes and ears working together immediately honed in on the target: the largest of three bedrooms to my immediate right.
I wasn’t prepared for what I saw.
The tall shadow standing in the thin gap of the partially opened doorway stared back at me, no discernable features or detail that I could make out, yet I knew, beyond a doubt, that it was watching me…and it didn’t feel friendly.
In fact, the sheer terror that exploded through my veins forced out a shocked gasp followed by a screech that I’d never heard come out of my own mouth.
Time seemed to stand still as I watched the door begin to eek open, that terrifying sound of the dry hinges scraping against every nerve ending like nails down a chalkboard, working on my psyche to the point of hysteria.
“Claire? What’s wrong?” I heard Jed’s voice from a distance, almost as if I stood in a vacuum, engaged in a silent showdown with what I could no longer deny was an otherworldly figure that I was certain was out to harm me.
But why? What made me the target? Why not Jed? He was a man. Us women had to stick together. Besides, I was only here for a short time. Just long enough to get the house back in top form and then I’d be outta here.
Maybe Mrs. Moore wants everything to stay exactly how she left it…
“Claire?”
My head whipped around, panicked gaze landing on Jed’s tall, lithe form, still glistening with moisture from his bath. The towel wrapped around his waist—a white, fluffy one I’d bought at the general store—barely hiding his naughty bits, the split gaping open around his thigh teasing at the hidden treasures beneath as it flapped open and closed with every hurried step he took.
“I—I—” Clearly, my voice had abandoned me, making me stutter like a fool. So I resorted to signalling instead, pointing out the problem.
Jed’s worried frown followed my finger to the doorway, and in an instant, the color in his face washed away. “Holy—”
The sudden slam of the bedroom door shook the plaster walls, ripping another scream from my lips. Nerves jarred, it happened all at once in a domino effect: I reached for the banister cap as my legs turned to rubber noodles and I lost my footing. Jed leaped into action, lunging forward with his arms outstretched to catch me. His towel broke free from his hips, floating to the floor, leaving his dangly bits free to dance at will. The stairs, thankfully, broke my fall.
All twenty-two of them.
As I bounced and tumbled my way back to the first floor, I couldn’t help but wonder…would Jed kiss my boo-boos and make it all better, or was this the final nail in the coffin, so to speak?
Guess we’d find out…after I regained consciousness.
