ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 17,2022

After twenty-three years of marriage to an utter jackass and beige décor as far as the eye can see, Campbell Cavett is now divorced. Officially. But how did she lose herself for all these years? Somehow she went from being a bold, starry-eyed young groupie who followed Golden Tiger on tour to…snapping photos of snot-nosed kids for their Pinterest moms at the local Portrait Hut.

But she takes her Divorce Party one bottle of Pinot Grigio too far and wakes to discover she’s quit her boring-ass job, arranged to sell her house, and has tickets to the Golden Tiger reunion show. Which is exactly when fate and Campbell decide it’s time to pick up where she left off all those years ago.

Now Campbell’s on tour as the official photographer of her favorite band and living the life she’s always dreamed. But backstage access means that she’s about to discover a whole lot. Not just about herself, but about a blast from her past who looks way hotter than he has any right to twenty-plus years later. Plus there’s that mind-blowing secret Golden Tiger’s been hiding from everyone. They say time can heal anything. But is six weeks on the road enough to truly start fresh?

REVIEW: HE’S WITH THE BAND by Julie Stone is a contemporary, adult, rock romance story line focusing on one-time groupie turned amateur photographer Campbell Cavett and the rock band Golden Tiger.

Told from first person perspective (Campbell Cavett) HE’S WITH THE BAND follows one-time groupie turned amateur photographer Campbell Cavett, now forty two, as she finds herself the band-photographer for the reunion tour of Golden Tiger. Golden Tiger disbanded over twenty years earlier, just months after our heroine spent a glorious summer as a rock band groupie but Campbell Cavett, for all her wants and desires, never had the full groupie experience, thanks in part by the actions of the band’s manager Vince Caparelli, the man who controlled everyone in and out of Golden Tiger’s life. Fast forward more than twenty years, and the first night of the tour, Campbell comes face to face with the same tour manager, who hasn’t forgotten our story line heroine. Hired to take pictures, and write about the band, Campbell slowly discovers that all is not as it appears to be, including the manager’s connection to the band. As Campbell begins to dissect the individual members of the band, our heroine finds herself on the outside looking in, as secrets reveal the truth about what happened years before.

HE’S WITH THE BAND is a back-stage pass, so to speak, about the lives of a band that imploded years before. Within months of Campbell’s journey with Golden Tiger, the band fell apart, following the release of a disastrous album but as Campbell begins to unravel the truth about the members of the band, a secret once kept is about to reveal the heart break and pain of unrequited love.

HE’S WITH THE BAND is a journey of discovery for not only the band but for our story line heroine. Campbell Cavett’s marriage had imploded, and a mid-life crisis, of a sorts, finds Campbell trying to relive the summer that was but no longer is. The premise is entertaining and captivating; the romance is subtle; the characters are interesting and engaging-the slow build up to the twist is revealed a little at a time.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 11, 2022

After suffering a horrific injury that threatens to end his career, Baden Oulett is about to learn that sometimes a fresh start is just what the doctor ordered.

I worked my whole life to achieve one goal—play professional hockey. As part of the defending Cup champion Arizona Vengeance, I was living my dream until one split second decision destroyed it all. Instead of lacing up my skates and hitting the ice, I’ve spent my days in rehab and physical therapy just so I could walk again. When a coaching opportunity with the Pittsburgh Titans is presented to me, I find myself with a career I had never considered but which allows me to continue being part of the sport that I love.

While my injuries are physical, the same can’t be said for the woman I rescued. Suffering from wounds that can’t be seen, Sophie Winters has withdrawn from the world in fear and guilt. I didn’t know Sophie before that fateful night and have only met her once since, but I refuse to let her face her demons alone. Determined to be a friend, I support Sophie in the only way I know how… by simply being there.

Through our shared trauma, Sophie and I begin to find peace within one another. As we grow closer, what started as friendship becomes more intimate until our broken pieces become one. But can a love born of anguish endure, or will the pain of our past prove too much to overcome?

••••••

REVIEW:BADEN is the first instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult PITTSBURGH TITANS erotic, hockey romance series focusing on the members of the professional hockey team the Pittsburgh Titans. This is the Pittsburgh Titan’s new goal coach Baden Oulett, and medical rep Sophie Winters’ story line.

NOTE: If you have not read the author’s Arizona Vengeance series, there may be spoilers in my review.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sophie and Baden) BADEN follows the building romance and relationship between Pittsburgh Titans’ new goalie coach Baden Oulett, and Sophie Winters’. Approximately seven months earlier Sophie Winters, while working in Arizona, was mugged and attacked. Arizona Vengeance goalie Baden Oulett came to her rescue but Baden’s near fatal injuries left our hero unable to play the sport that he loved, and in the ensuing months found himself struggling for a direction in life. When a devastating plane crashed claimed the lives of the entire Pittsburgh Titans hockey team including coaches and staff, Baden was offered the opportunity to restart his career as the Titan’s new goalie coach, a position that would bring him up close and personal with the woman he saved, a woman who continues to suffer in the aftermath of the attack against our story line couple. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Sophie and Baden, and the potential fall-out as Sophie continues to battle the demons from her past, paralyzing our heroine, from moving forward.

Sophie Winters is unable to move on with her life, and with Baden’s new assignment in Pittsburgh, Sophie is reminded of what was and what will never be. Struggling to forgive herself for the horrific injuries suffered by our story line hero, Sophie offers up her home to the man with whom she will fall in love. Baden Oulett had always hoped to return to the ice but never expected to return as the Titans’ goalie coach. A new direction and a new career meant new friendships, including the building romance with our story line heroine.

The relationship between Sophie and Baden begins as acquaintances that have suffered a trauma although one is more physical, and the other emotional. Sophie struggles to move beyond the walls of her home, and Baden battles the physical constraints that will force him to choose a new path towards the future. As our couple ‘s friendship slowly grows into something more, they must face their demons together, in an effort to forgive but never forget. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to the new players and coaches of the Pittsburgh Titans: Stone Dumelin, Gage Hayward, Coen HIghsmith, future player Drake McGinn, head coach Matt Keller, and team owner Brienne Norcross,Sophie’s best friend Frankie Dillard, as well as the return of several Arizona Vengeance players, and team owner Dominick Carlson. Stone Dumelin’s story is next.

BADEN is a story of family, friendships, relationships and struggle. A story of acceptance and understanding, struggle and moving forward, understanding and love. The premise is engaging, entertaining and captivating; the characters are broken but strong-willed, and determined ;the attraction is palpable, the slow building romance is impassioned, edgy and intense.

REVIEW:MAKING HER MINE is the sixth instalment in Monica Murphy’s contemporary, young adult THE CALLAHANS romance series. This is seventeen year olds, high school seniors Beck Callahan, and Addison ‘Addie’ Douglas’ storyline. MAKING HER MINE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines. Addie Douglas is Jocelyn Douglas’ sister (Fighting For You 5). MAKING HER MINE advances the series several years.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Addie and Beck) MAKING HER MINE follows the friends to lovers relationship between seventeen year olds, high school seniors Beck Callahan, and Addison ‘Addie’ Douglas. Addie and Beck have been friends for most of their lives but high school saw each going in another direction-Beck with aspirations of professional football, and Addie exceling with the volleyball team. Neither far from one another’s mind, Beck and Addie remained friends, in the same social circles, watching from the sidelines as each went out with someone else. With Beck’s long time girlfriend heading to college, Addie refused to cross the line, a line made less difficult when Beck broke it off to pursue our story line heroine. As Beck and Addie’s relationship becomes more personal and close, someone else begins to push at our heroine, forcing Beck to step in before things went too far. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Addie and Beck, and the potential fall-out as the numerous high school dramas begin to affect the close knit group of friends.

The relationship between Addie and Beck is a friends to lovers in which Beck and Addie have pined after one another for a very long time but Addie always thought she was out of Beck’s league, and Beck had waited before making his move. When our couple profess their mutual attraction, desire and love for one another, their circle of friends make things more difficult as the mean girls, and competition begins to eat away at their barely veiled self-control. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Most of the previous storyline couples have moved on with their lives as the current time line advances the series several years but they do make several cameo appearances. We are introduced to Addie and Beck’s friends: Tori, Emma, Monique; Dominic, Marcus, Liam; and the return of Drew and Fable Callahan. Here’s hoping the author has plans for the younger generation of Beck and his friends.

MAKING HER MINE is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love. The requisite mean girls, competition, love triangle type romances, and teenage angst and gossip are present and accounted for. The fast paced, character driven premise is moving and heart warming-the conflict is limited to the angst of teenaged love ; the characters are spirited and real; the romance is tender and captivating.

REVIEW:  DRAGON UNBOUND is the third instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal/fantasy series-a spin off from the author’s DARK KINGS series. This is garnet dragon Cullen, and banshee Tamlyn’s story line. DRAGON UNBOUND can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is a running premise throughout.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Cullen and Tamlyn) DRAGON UNBOUND follows garnet dragon Cullen as he is tasked by Constantine, King of the Dragons, to search for an unknown enemy that has targeted the dragons living in Zora, the world beyond the portal where the dragon descendants continue to reside but Cullen quickly discovers that things are much worse than he could have ever imagined when the evil hunting the dragons is now focusing on any child believed to be capable of magical powers. Enter banshee Tamlyn, a young woman who ‘hears’ the screams of the children as they face their death, a death Tamlyn is desperate to try and prevent. With the help of our hero, Tamlyn will enter the walled city where the children are being held captive, a city that is hiding a dangerous and invisible secret. What ensues is the building relationship between Cullen and Tamlyn, and the potential fall-out as Tamlyn struggles to save all the children, and the source of the evil is as yet, unknown.

The relationship between Tamlyn and Cullen is one of immediate attraction but Cullen is not welcome in Tamlyn’s cloistered life. Along with an alchemist and an Amazon, Tamlyn is all that is between the young children and death, and in this, Cullen is seen as a deterrent and possible spy for those capturing and killing the children with a magical power. When Cullen reveals his true identity, Tamlyn finds herself working alongside in an effort to save the children from any further harm. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to alchemist Sian, and Jenefer the Amazon, and the return of Teal Dragon King Vaughn, and his mate half fae-half dragon hybrid Eurwen, Eurwen’s brother and twin Brandr, as well as the King of Dragons Con. The requisite evil has yet to be revealed.

DRAGON UNBOUND is a story of power, control, evil and obsession. The premise is dark and intriguing; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic and intense.

“Who are you?” he asked, his blue eyes wide with fear.
“Tamlyn. I’m here to help you.”
He glanced at the door. “No one can help me.”
“I climbed this wall for you. We can go down together, or you can stay here and see how things turn out.”
He shook his head before she finished. “I don’t want to stay. But…”
“I know,” she said softly. “It’s scary. There’s a chance we won’t make it. But it’s a choice you alone can make.”
He lifted his chin, his slim shoulders squaring. “I’ll do it.”
“Good lad,” she said with a wink. “I’m going to get into place. I need you to climb out and onto my back. Be sure to close the window.”
He glanced down and then nodded jerkily.
“You can do this,” Tamlyn told him.
That seemed to bolster him. She flexed her fingers and hoped she would be able to maintain her grip with his added weight. Tamlyn held onto the sill and dropped down, using her arms to hold her until she got both her footholds.
“All right. Come on,” she urged.
The boy climbed out and scooted to the edge of the sill on one side of her. He closed the window behind him.
“Good,” she said with a nod. “Now, get onto my back. Use my body however you need to, but make sure you have a good hold on me. Just be careful not to choke me.”
The instant he told her that he was in place, she began climbing down. She hadn’t gotten very far when she realized that she would never be able to hold them both. Her fingers were slipping, and her arms were shaking so badly she could barely move them.
And then she lost her grip.
Air rushed past them as they plummeted to the passageway below. Just before they hit, they jerked to a stop. Somehow, they hung suspended in midair for a heartbeat before falling the last few feet. The impact jarred her, but nothing like what could’ve happened.
She sat and turned to the boy. “Was that you?”
He shrugged. “Maybe.”
“Thank you.” She jumped to her feet. “Come on. We’ve got to get out of the city.”
Those at Stonemore didn’t know who was rescuing the children, but each time she came to the city, there was something else that hadn’t been there before. This time it was the soldiers in the forest. What would be next? They would catch her eventually. Until then, she would save as many as she could.
She took the boy’s hand and turned to retrace her steps. The only way out was to go down, and that meant walking across the empty square again. She kept a tight hold of the boy while also making sure their steps were easy and casual. One of the nearby soldiers turned to look at them. He started toward them, but another soldier told him to forget them. No doubt those two would be in trouble shortly, but she couldn’t let her thoughts linger on that. By her reckoning, everyone who didn’t stop the sacrifices was complicit.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 13, 2022

#12 Johnny Decker. Star quarterback for the Boston Tomcats. Two-time Super Bowl MVP…a decade ago. Nickname: Decker the Panty Wrecker.

I get tackled for a living by men who are built like rhinos. I could take the wings off a fly with a football from 30 yards away. (I wouldn’t, but I could.) Being a veteran quarterback means I’m a mentally alert, fine-tuned athletic machine who can make split-second decisions.

It’s my job to anticipate what’s going to happen next and adapt. But I couldn’t have anticipated the death of our beloved team owner.

His estranged daughter Hannah Strong is a finance nerd from New York. She knows less than nothing about football. Know what she didn’t anticipate? Inheriting the Boston Tomcats.

She’s stubborn, uptight, infuriating, and wrong about absolutely everything—from pizza to how to run my team. And I don’t want to talk about how good she looks in a skirt. Or daydream about how good she’d look out of it.
Really, I don’t.
I’m not Decker the Panty Wrecker anymore—I’ve changed.

I can’t stop arguing with her.

Or thinking about her.

I thought I had a winning play.
But Hannah Strong changed everything.

REVIEW: DECKER: CHANGING THE PLAY is the first instalment the contemporary, adult THE BOSTON TOMCATS erotic, football romance series co-authored by Kayley Loring and Connor Crais. This is twenty-nine year old, team owner Hannah Strong, and thirty-six year old Boston Tomcats quarterback Johnny Decker’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Hannah and Johnny) DECKER: CHANGING THE PLAY follows the building romance and relationship between twenty-nine year old, team owner Hannah Strong, and thirty-six year old Boston Tomcats quarterback Johnny Decker. Hannah Strong is the new owner of the Boston Tomcats professional football team in the wake of her father’s sudden death but Hannah knows nothing about football having been estranged from her father for as long as she can remember. Taking over the team wasn’t easy especially when she knew nothing about the game, the team, or the players, including quarterback Johnny Decker, whose reputation both on and off the field preceded his introduction to our story line heroine. Desperate to learn everything about the game and more, Hannah strong arms Johnny into teaching her the game, a game that is about to become more personal in more ways than one. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Hannah and Johnny, and the potential fall-out as Hannah finds herself alone when she makes a deal to that focuses on the long term success of the team, and the short term benefit of a difficult trade.

The relationship between Johnny and Hannah is one of immediate attraction but neither one is aware of each other’s place on the team. Johnny believes Hannah is the new front office secretary, and Hannah thinks Johnny is the team’s equipment manager. A disastrous welcome by Boston finds Hannah rethinking the ownership and her place on the team but our hero has more faith in Hannah than our heroine, herself. As the Boston Tomcats struggle to gain momentum on the field, Hannah and Johnny have no problems gaining momentum in their personal relationship. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to a large ensemble cast of spirited secondary and supporting characters including Hannah’s mother Rue, her best friend Jen; Johnny’s brother Garrett, and their parents Vikki and Tom Decker; several members of the Boston Tomcats including coach Bud, secretary Nancy, and team members: receiver Maurice ‘Mo’ Woods, defensive end Dash Taylor, running back Dee Jones.

DECKER: CHANGING THE PLAY is a story of friendships, relationships, and family; of teammates and winning, misunderstanding and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is captivating and entertaining; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are animated, flirty, and inspiring.

She mostly wrote PG-13 family comedies that studios would pay her lots of money for and then never make into movies. In 2017 she decided to move to the Pacific Northwest and write about all the fun stuff that she wasn’t allowed to write about in those PG-13 scripts. Now she’s breathing cleaner air and writing dirtier words. It’s an adjustment she’s happily getting used to.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 12,2022.

When she was a little girl, Remy Archer fell in love with Hyde Fuller at first sight. In fact, he was the only thing she could see for a very long time. For Remy, it never mattered to her that Hyde was always too serious and always seemed so sad. To her, he was the very best, and the center of her entire world. She never dreamed he would let her down when she needed him the most.

Now Remy is a semi-reasonable adult, one with a better understanding of why her intense feelings scared Hyde away when she was at her lowest point. She’s moved on, and if anyone asks she’s perfectly happy with the chaotic and hectic life she’s built. She’s also really proud that she’s still around to experience all the best and worst that surviving something deeply traumatic has to offer. The last thing she needs or wants, is Hyde coming back and taking over her every thought and feeling the way he once did. Unfortunately, they picked the exact same time to come home to search for a little redemption.

When he was a little boy, the instant they met, Hyde Fuller wanted nothing more than to protect Remy Archer from everything, including herself. She gleefully took up every moment of his free time, and every ounce of his patience, as they grew alongside one another. He was so intent on keeping her safe, he didn’t realize how deeply Remy had worked her way into his heart.

Now that Hyde’s facing the biggest challenge and biggest change of his entire life, he deeply regrets walking away from Remy. She was always the one person who always had his back, no matter what. The way Remy loved him used to terrify him, but now, it’s the way he loves her that scares him to death.
Hyde knows he needs Remy in his life, so he can finally figure out how to be the man she always believed him to be. History has a bad habit of repeating itself, and Remy has a knack for turning even the most simple of situations end over end. This time Hyde is determined to stay by her side no matter what, even though his love for Remy is going to change more than his life this time around.

REVIEW:This book was sentimental and so emotional for me to read and hit very close to home, thus becoming one of the best reads I have ever consumed.

Now, it is safe to say that this book has an underlying message, you can’t miss it, but there is also so much hope, love and understanding. I love second generation books, it’s a glimpse into the lives of the characters we have come to know and love, but also more.

Remy and Hyde will make you cry, yearn, scream and wish for the world to be a different place, but they will also make you smile and believe in love again. Hyde has his troubles like so many of us do, but his daughter is his joy and he will do anything to protect her. Remy is such a complex character, one that has been diagnosed with a mental illness, Prodigal Son deals with this heavy topic, and I have to get it to Jay for bringing it up, many people simply brush it off and “suck it up” type of attitude. These two have been intertwined since childhood, and nothing is going to stop their love now. Bring some tissue and something to cuddle with, Jay activated super mode and got us all in our feels.
