REVIEW:JUST ONE WISH is instalment 4.5 and novella in Carly Phillips’ contemporary, adult KINGSTON FAMILY erotic, romance series, and the author’s latest offering to the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights series. This is thirty year old, veterinarian Dr. Tara Stillman, and rock musician /drummer Axel Forrester’s story line. JUST ONE WISH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Axel and Tara) JUST ONE WISH follows the second chance relationship between thirty year olds, veterinarian Dr. Tara Stillman, and drummer Axel Forrester. Axel and Tara were high school sweethearts but Tara wanted to become a veterinarian, and Axel wanted to become a rock star, so our couple went their separate ways. Fast forward to present day, and Axel, scrolling through social media, locates his first and only love, and puts a plan into motion to reconnect with Tara Stillman. Seeing Axel brought back too many memories for our story line heroine but curiosity won, and with her mother’s insistence, Tara took a chance, getting together with the man that broke her heart. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Tara and Axel, as Axel must come to a decision about his future with the woman he loves.

The relationship between Tara and Axel is one of second chances; high school sweethearts whose future ambitions went in different directions, eventually reconnecting several years later, picking up where they had originally left off. Axel’s band mates and family were beginning to settle down, and Axel was looking forward to a family of his own. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text. The couple’s rekindling romance came with very little conflict or regrets about the past.

We are introduced to Tara’s mother Marsha, and pet adoption centre owner Norah, as well as the return of Melly Kingston, Dash and Cassidy Kingston.

JUST ONE WISH is a quick read; a fast paced story of second chances, reconnecting and love. The premise is engaging; the romance is seductive; the characters are flirty and fun.

Axel Forrester adjusted his sunglasses and leaned back against a lounge chair, grateful for the first warm, summerlike day in June in the Hamptons. Xander Kingston’s dog, Bella, sat by his side.
An extra pair of glasses lay on the table beside him. He picked them up and propped them over the golden retriever’s eyes. “There you go, girl. That’s better, isn’t it?” He patted her on the head, and she stretched out on the ground, leaving the glasses in place.
He tipped his head up to the sky and closed his eyes, enjoying the heat on his face. As a California kid, his first winter in New York had been a huge adjustment. He’d moved here last summer when he’d become the drummer for the Original Kings and had spent the first couple of months bunking at the lead singer Dash Kingston’s house.
Axel learned fast that the band was a tight-knit bunch, all living in Dash’s home. Until a baby scare with a groupie put Dash in need of a fake girlfriend to fix his reputation, and Axel’s sister, Cassidy, had played the role.
Now Cassidy and Dash were married, having wed in front of family and friends this past winter. Axel had rented a house nearby, as had Jagger, the guitar player, and Mac, the bassist. But Axel and the guys spent more time at Dash’s home studio or here at Xander’s than at their own places.
Xander complained about the fact that the band had followed Dash’s lead, making his house their home away from home, but nobody believed Xander really considered them unwanted company. And Sasha, the famous actress Xander had married this past spring, welcomed them, as long as they knocked first.
Given the Kingston family’s dysfunctional background, courtesy of their now deceased father, the fact that four of the five siblings were settled and happy gave a guy like Axel hope that he’d meet the right woman. He was sick of the rock-star lifestyle, the parties after the shows, the groupies, and the drinking. At thirty years old, he wanted a partner for life.
And if he couldn’t find the right woman?

Iris

It’s the scars you can’t see…

After my last boyfriend tried to kill me, I swore off relationships for life. So why can’t I stop thinking about the dangerous—and completely unstable—alpha of the new wolf pack in town?

Thankfully, my heart isn’t in any danger, because Draven Moreau hates me with a fiery passion.

But when witches start disappearing and the fate of our coven’s magic falls to me, I desperately need his help. Only he doesn’t want anything to do with me…until he does. With a hidden enemy drawing me into their sick and twisted game, Draven suddenly wants me close, whether I like it or not.

As darkness closes in and the horrors of the past are repeated, I’ll have to fight for my life—and a love I’d never dared to hope for.

•••••

REVIEW:A VOW OF RUIN is the second instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult THE THORNHEART TRIALS erotic, paranormal, romance series focusing on the Thornheart sisters-Willow, Iris, Magnolia and Rose. This is witch Iris Thornheart, and Alpha Wolf shifter Draven Moreau’s story line. A VOW OF RUIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

SOME BACKGROUND: When a young witch reaches a certain age, Mother Nature would call upon the witch to perform a series of unknown tasks culminating in a magical combat trial. If the witch survives, their powers increase exponentially but not everyone is capable of deciphering the clues, and the tasks to be performed.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Draven and Iris) A VOW OF RUIN follows the building but acrimonious relationship between witch Iris Thornheart, and Alpha Wolf shifter Draven Moreau. Over three hundred years earlier Draven Moreau and several members of his wolf pack were trapped by magic to guard an iron dagger, trapped by the witch Draven thought he had loved. Fast forward to present day wherein Draven believes our heroine, Iris Thornheart is the woman who trapped him so very long ago, a woman he vows to destroy but Draven’s inner wolf claims Iris is their mate, and Draven refuses to leave his fate in the hands of someone he cannot trust. Iris Thornheart has been called by Mother Nature but without the help of the other witches, Iris believes she is doomed to fail when several young witches go missing, as the past is determined to arise from the dead. As Draven and Iris battle between head and heart with their unwanted attraction to one another, Iris finds herself caught between the living and the dead, as Draven struggles to save the woman he loves. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Draven and Iris, and the potential fall-out as the past, present and future collide, in a fight for power and control.

Draven Moreau is unable to accept that Iris Thornheart is not the same woman that condemned his pack to die. With issues of trust, Draven struggles to accept Iris as his mate, issues that will eventually push Iris out of his life. Iris Thornheart has no idea why the Alpha wolf despises the very ground upon which she walks but when the story is revealed, Iris must search for the truth, a search that places Iris in the direct line of fire.

The relationship between Iris and Draven is enemies to lovers; a fated mates relationship in which neither one is willing to go down without a fight, and in which Draven is constantly at odds between killing and protecting the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and supernatural secondary and supporting characters: Witches Rose, Magnolia, and Willow Thornheart, her mate Hellhound alpha /Devil Dog’s MC President Warrick, and their mother Daisy, Aunt Elswyth, fox shifter and Willow’s familiar Ren; Magnolia’s crow familiar Bram; Iris’s familiar Nia; Rose’s vampire friend Ronan; wolf shifters Asher, Dirk, Ebony. The requisite evil has many faces. Rose and Ronan’s storyline is next.

A VOW OF RUN is a detailed and complex story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, magic and evil, acceptance and love. The premise is twisted, haunting, and enchanting; the romance is spirited and provocative; the characters are compelling, powerful, wounded and strong.

A Man of Legend by Linda Broday – a Review

A Man of Legend by Linda Broday – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Book Depository

Description:
Famous across Texas, the Legends stand ready to take on any challenge that comes their way…

Crockett Legend has always loved Paisley Mahone, but a family feud sure can ruin a romance. When her father waged a war against the Legends, Paisley took her father’s side. They’ve never seen eye to eye, and the rift widened when Paisley’s brother was killed in prison–after being sentenced by none other than Crockett.

Now Paisley’s father is dead too, and she’s headed home to mourn with the rest of her family when she runs into Crockett on the train. But when the train is held up by outlaws, it comes to Crockett and Paisley to save a young shooting victim. She never thought being close to Crockett could make her feel anything but revulsion ever again, but some second changes are worth the risk…

Review:

A Man of Legend by Linda Broday is the 3rd and final book in her wonderful Lone Star Legends series. I have become a big fan of Linda Broday, as her historical western series are fantastic. Even if I do not read a lot of historical romances, I will read anything by Broday.

Crockett Legend is a judge and family member of the famous Legends. Years ago, Crockett’s father, Stoker, won a bet with the Mahone patriarch, giving him ownership of part of their land, and from that day on a war began that still festered to this day.  Crockett always loved Paisley Mahone, but because of this feud, their relationship fell apart, with Paisley taking her father’s side.  It’s years since Paisley returned (she became a nurse), and now with her father’s death, she is on a train home, only to held up by outlaws. Lucky for Paisley, Crockett is on the same train, and manages to save her, as well as others on the train.

Paisley is the heroine in this story, and she was great. After the funeral, her brother Farrel was threatening the Legends, not to mention abusing his wife, Hilda and young son Tye.  In a short time, Paisley begins to see that her father and brother were evil, and lied about the things the Legends supposedly did. One night, Farrel threatens Hilda, Tye and Paisley and they run for their lives, to end up on Legend land for help.  The Legend family are awesome wonderful people, and they make room for Paisley, Hilda and Tye on the Lone Star ranch.  At the same time, Paisley, who is also a nurse, gets a job to help the doctor who broke his leg, and she takes on his cases to help the local people on the Legend land. I loved how Paisley visited each of the injured people, as well as two pregnant women.. It was fun and enjoyable to watch her take control.

In a short time, the relationship between Crockett and Paisley escalates, as they realize that they both still have feelings for each other.  They made such a great couple, that we rooted hard for.

What follows is an exciting story with nonstop action, heart stopping dangerous situations and a sweet romance between two people that we could not help falling in love with. Farrel was an immediate danger to both Paisley, Hilda, Tye, also to the Legends and their ranch.  They manage to find clues of Farrel’s deceit, but he managed to be one step ahead, and despite Crockett and family putting guards to protect them, the threats were still dangerous.  In between the humorous fun at times, (Casonova the parrot was a riot), and Broday once again gives us great secondary characters, such as Dallum, Hilda, Tye, the pregnant ladies, etc.

Linda Broday once again gives us another wonderful finale to this fantastic western historical series.   A Man of Legend was an emotional & heartwarming story, with a fabulous couple, great characters as well as exciting and suspenseful. If you enjoy historical westerns, you should be reading Linda Broday.

REVIEW:  THE BEAUTY AND THE BALLER by Ilsa Madden Mills is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, erotic, romance story line focusing on twenty-nine year old, art teacher and former beauty queen Nova Morgan, and thirty-two year old, injured NFL quarterback Ronan Smith.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nova and Rona) BEAUTY AND THE BALLER follows the building romance and relationship between art teacher and former beauty queen Nova Morgan, and thirty-two year old, injured NFL quarterback Ronan Smith. Three years earlier NFL quarterback Ronan Smith lost the love of his life and his career on the same night. One year later, a drunken one night stand with a stranger in New York left Ronan questioning his choices in life, having reached rock bottom before his upward climb back to the living. Fast forward two years, Ronan Smith, now teaching history and coaching football in Blue Belle, Texas will come face to face with his one-night stand, his new neighbor, Blue Belle alumni, and the woman with whom Ronan will fall in love. Hired as the high school’s new part time English teacher, and Coach Ronan’s PA, Nova Morgan struggles with what was, and what will never be. To keep the ‘predators’ at bay, Ronan and Nova agree to a fake relationship, a relationship that will quickly turn into something more. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ronan and Nova, and the potential fall-out when Ronan is offered another chance in the big leagues, leaving Blue Belle and Nova behind.

Nova Morgan returned to Blue Belle, Texas to look after her younger sister in the wake of their mother’s death. Never expecting to return to her hometown, Nova must now face the ghosts of her past, ghosts that are continuous reminders of love found and lost. Scarred both inside and out, Ronan Smith battles between head and heart with his attraction to, and need for our story line heroine but Ronan is unable to get past the death of his first love, and the loss of his career as a quarterback in the NFL.

The relationship between Ronan and Nova begins as a one-night stand wherein Ronan has no idea as to the who and why. Ronan is a Star Wars fan; a geek collector of everything from the galaxy far, far away, but the moment Nova descended into his life dressed as Princess Leia, Ronan knew his life would never be the same. In an effort to stop the local busy-bodies from trying to set him up with every single mother in Blue Belle, Ronan offers up a fake-relationship, a relationship that becomes all too real in a very short time. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are frenetic, flirty and energetic. We are introduced to Ronan’s best friends and fellow football player Tuck; Nova’s sister Sabine; fellow teachers and exes, high school students and a championship football team.

BEAUTY AND THE BALLER is a story of loss and grief; friendships and family; acceptance and love. The character driven premise is emotional, entertaining and impassioned; the characters are sassy and spirited; the romance is captivating, tender and sensual.

I was never supposed to see him again. Him being the man wearing the perfectly tailored suit who oozed an intoxicating mixture of wealth, rebellion, and sex appeal.

One night.
No strings.
No names.
Great sex.

Still riding the high from last night, I walk in to meet my new client, and he’s wearing that same dangerous smirk that reeled me in hours ago.

Yes, I’m consulting for Callahan Sharpe. And yes, he’s that Callahan Sharpe.

Billionaire heir apparent who abides by no rules, bucks convention, and is determined to complete one final project to honor his late father’s legacy before walking away from the family business for good. Luckily and unluckily for me, I’ve been tasked to go to the Virgin Islands to help accomplish his goal. Callahan has no problem breaking his company’s no fraternization rule, but not me. There’s too much at stake.

What could possibly go wrong when you’re forced to work—and live—side by side with a man you can’t resist?

Are you ready to fall for the Sharpe brothers in K. Bromberg’s sexy, contemporary, billionaire romance series? These books can all be read as standalones, but can be enjoyed as a series as well . . .

•••••

REVIEW:  LAST RESORT is the first instalment in K. Bromberg’s contemporary, adult S.I.N. erotic, romance trilogy focusing on the Sharpe triplets: Callahan, Fordham, and Ledger Sharpe, owners of Sharpe International Network aka S.I.N. This is billionaire resort owner Callahan Sharpe, and resort consultant Sutton Pierce’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Callahan and Sutton) LAST RESORT follows in the wake of a one-night stand between Callahan Sharpe, and consultant Sutton Pierce. Sutton Pierce dumped her controlling boyfriend of two years, and immediately rebounded with a man she knew nothing about. Contracted as the new resort consultant to S.I.N. industries, Sutton comes face to face with her new boss, her one night stand in the guise of a triplet, none of whom is admitting to knowing our story line heroine. Working together on the refurbishment of S.I.N. owned Ocean’s Edge Resort in the Virgin Islands, Sutton tries desperately to ignore the palpable sexual attraction to Callahan Sharpe, a man whose demons are heart breaking and dark. What ensues is the acrimonious but building romance and relationship between Callahan and Sutton, and the potential fall-out as their time together comes to an end.

Callahan Sharpe is the black sheep; the youngest of three brothers considered to be a failure, a screw-up, and a spoiled young man. Upon the death of their father, the Sharpe triplets inherited the Sharpe International Network but not before a questionable business deal all but broke the siblings apart. With Callahan at the helm of Ocean’s Edge, the other Sharpe brothers fear disaster and ruin but working alongside Sutton Pierce, proves Callahan is worthy of the title of boss. Sutton Pierce knows that to get involved with Callahan Sharpe could be the ruin of her career but our heroine is a worthy adversary, capable of bringing Ocean’s Edge Resort back to her former glory.

The relationship between Callahan and Sutton begins as a one-night stand that quickly turns into something more. Hired to consult on the Ocean’s Edge Resort improvements and employee contracts, Sutton finds herself falling for a broken man who struggles with grief, blame, loss and regret. As Sutton battles between head and heart, Callahan knows that Sutton is the woman that controls his soul. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, used only once, more for shock value than anything else.

We are introduced to Callahans’s brother Fordham and Ledger; resort manager Brady; bartender Keone; Resort Transition Consultants owner Roz; and Sutton’s best friend Lizzy.

LAST RESORT is a story of family and loss, friendships and grief, acceptance and understanding, love and happily ever after. The character driven premise is emotional, entertaining and inviting; the characters are broken, intelligent, wounded and spirited; the romance is seductive and provocative.

Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q. Sutanto – a Review

Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q. Sutanto – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Book Depository

Description:
Meddy Chan has been to countless weddings, but she never imagined how her own would turn out. Now the day has arrived, and she can’t wait to marry her college sweetheart, Nathan. Instead of having Ma and the aunts cater to her wedding, Meddy wants them to enjoy the day as guests. As a compromise, they find the perfect wedding vendors: a Chinese-Indonesian family-run company just like theirs. Meddy is hesitant at first, but she hits it off right away with the wedding photographer, Staphanie, who reminds Meddy of herself, down to the unfortunately misspelled name.

Meddy realizes that is where their similarities end, however, when she overhears Staphanie talking about taking out a target. Horrified, Meddy can’t believe Staphanie and her family aren’t just like her own, they are The Family–actual mafia, and they’re using Meddy’s wedding as a chance to conduct shady business. Her aunties and mother won’t let Meddy’s wedding ceremony become a murder scene–over their dead bodies–and will do whatever it takes to save her special day, even if it means taking on the mafia.

Review:

Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q Sutanto is the sequel to her previous book, Dial A for Aunties.  Meddy Chan is set to marry her sweetheart, Nathan, and she wants her family (her crazy aunts) to all relax and enjoy the upcoming wedding.  They decide to hire a Chinese-Indonesian company, who are perfect for the job.  Staphanie is the contact and wedding photographer, who Meddy becomes friends with, until she overhears her talking on the phone about plans to take out a target on her wedding day.  Once she tells her aunts and mother, they make plans to make sure the wedding is safe, and now the chaos begins.

What follows is a wild chaotic wedding, which the aunts/mother constantly are over the top with their antics, especially taking one by one the wedding planners’ people, in order to protect Meddy and the wedding itself. Meddy was a very good heroine, though her unconventional crazy family members continued to wreak havoc during the wedding, with Meddy trying to keep things in order, as well as not tell Nathan what was going on.  This is a difficult review, as the story is somewhat humorous, it is weird, insane and way over the top.  It does not help with the aunts/mother/wedding planners all constantly talking in different languages (Chinese, Mandarian, Taiwanese, Indonesian), which did make it somewhat confusing, with Meddy, Nathan the ones who spoke english.

I did enjoy Four Aunties and a Wedding, but not sure why, I found this book not as much fun, or as humorous, especially as it seems to make me more nervous, rather than laughing. Jesse Q. Sutanto did write a fun story, even if I thought it was a bit too much.

The Shop on Royal Street by Karen White – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Book Depository

Description:

But the historic fixer-upper she buys comes with even more work than she anticipated when the house’s previous occupants don’t seem to be ready to depart. Although she can’t communicate with ghosts like her stepmother, luckily Nola knows someone in New Orleans who can–even if he’s the last person on earth she wants anything to do with, ever again. Because Beau Ryan comes with his own dark past, a past that involves the disappearance of his sister and parents during Hurricane Katrina, and the unsolved murder of a woman who once lived in the old Creole Cottage Nola is determined to make her own whether or not the resident restless spirits agree…

Review:

The Shop on Royal Street by Karen White is the first book in her new Royal Street series. Nola Trenholm, who was in the Tradd Street series, is the heroine in this book; as she has moved from Charleston, South Carolina to New Orleans.   Nola has purchased a historic fixer upper, which requires a lot of work, not to mention the house is haunted, with ghosts who do not want to leave. Nola learned a lot of historic preservation, especially being the step daughter of Melanie, who had the ability to talk to ghosts (Tradd series).

Beau Ryan, who Nola broke up with awhile back, is the hero in this book, and though they no longer are together, she knows she needs Beau’s help to renovate the house.  Beau lives with his grandmother, Mimi, and they are the ones who sold the house to Nola.  Beau is like Nola’s stepmother, able to see ghosts, but he hides this from others, and Nola already can tell he has that ability; even though he refuses to listen to her.

Nola has gained a lot of new friends, who will help her with the house renovation. Jolene is Nola’s friend, and also works with Beau; who will assign Jolene to be the project manager of the renovation; she will also become a roommate of Nola.  Jolene was such an awesome character, so much fun and always cooking/baking for everyone; and I liked Jaxson, who used to be Jolene’s boyfriend, and they remain good friends. Thibeau and Jorge are the men who work in the house to renovate, as they are willing to work there, despite the ghosts.

There is a mystery surrounding Beau’s family, that Nola is determined to discover more; which relates to a powerful New Orleans family.  A woman was killed years ago, and she is one of the ghosts that are in the house, as well as Beau’s grandfather; with the powerful family threatening Mimi’s family, which also resulted in Sunny, Beau’s sister disappearing.  Nola will push Beau to help her get the ghosts to finally move on.

The Shop on Royal Street was so very well written by Karen White, which was an excellent story, with a fabulous heroine in Nola, in a town that has so much history, with ghosts and historical homes. Besides rooting for Nola and Beau to find a way to get together, I loved Jolene and many other secondary characters.  Karen White once again gives us a fabulous new series, and I look forward to the next book in this series.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 23, 2022

I despise him with every inch of my body…
But I’ll marry him to get what I want.

Torturing me is like a hobby for Nico and he mastered the art of driving me insane a long time ago.

He’s my brother’s best friend and I wouldn’t lose sleep if he fell into a black hole and disappeared forever.

I don’t care if he’s sinfully handsome, dangerous, wickedly smart, and deliciously shattered in that beautiful-brooding-bad-boy sort of way—Nico can eat glass.

Except my father wants to marry me off to another mafia family halfway across the country and will force me to leave the only life I’ve ever known.

So I make a deal with the devil.

If I marry Nico instead, I can stay in Phoenix and won’t have to leave everyone I care about behind.

The idea makes my skin crawl. Especially the way he looks at me. And touches me. And teases me. And kisses me…

I hate Nico and he hates me.

But he’s my only chance, and I’ll do anything to get what I want.

REVIEW:BROKEN BY SIN by B.B. Hamel is a contemporary, adult, dark, Maria romance story line focusing on twenty-eight year old Nico Farese, and twenty-two year old Karah Bruno.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nico and Karah) BROKEN BY SIN follows the enemies to lovers relationship between twenty-eight year old Nico Farese, and twenty-two year old Karah Bruno. Karah Bruno is the only daughter of Don Domiano Bruno, and considered by many to be a spoiled Mafia princess but Don Bruno is about to give his daughter to the Russian mob in exchange for a power alliance. Karah is desperate to remain with the Famiglia, and makes a deal with her father that places our heroine in the direct line of fire. Nico Farese is a man determined to get his revenge, and his hatred for the Bruno family is growing by the day but as Don Bruno’s right hand man, Nico sees an opportunity, when Karah begins her search for someone to marry. All is not well in the Bruno organization, and Karah is ripe for the picking, setting Nico on his path of vengeance for crimes of the past. What ensues is the acrimonious but building relationship between Nico and Karah, and the potential fall-out as Karah is targeted, and memories from the past begin to destroy what’s left of her mind.

Nico Farese lost everything the day he landed in foster care, and vowed to seek revenge for sins of the past but Nico struggles with his hatred of, and attraction to our story line heroine, someone who is just as broken as our story line ‘anti-hero’. Karah Bruno admits she is spoiled but never expected to be sold to the highest bidder. Karah struggles with panic attacks, and the darkness that continues to engulf when she thinks about the past, a past that is about to come full circle for our story line couple.

The relationship between Karah and Nico is an enemies to lovers in which Nico sees Karah as a means to an end. Their hatred for one another, and tempestuous relationship hides a barely veiled, palpable sexual attraction, an attraction that could be the death of our story line couple. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

We are introduced to Karah’s brothers Casso, Flynn and Gavino, as well as their father Don Domiano Bruno; Don Bruno’s wife Elise, and Mafia soldier Rinaldo. Here’s hoping the author has plans for Karah’s brothers.

BROKEN BY SIN is a story of power and control; betrayal and vengeance; murder and retribution; family and blood, love and happily ever after. The premise is gritty and dark; the romance is impassioned and raw; the characters are broken yet charismatic.
