REVIEW: THE SAINT is the second full-length instalment in Nana Malone’s contemporary, adult GENTLEMEN ROGUES erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on a British Special ops group of men and women known as The Rogues, who work for a group known as Oversight. This is twenty-one year old, college student Kaya Reynolds, and billionaire/Rogues agent Jasper Saint. THE SAINT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Kaya and Jasper) following several paths, THE SAINT follows Kaya Reynolds search for her mother. Five years earlier, Kaya’s mother got into a car, and has never been seen again. The last person to see Kaya’s mother alive is attending a charity auction, an auction Kaya is determined to attend but Kaya never expected to find herself facing off against two alpha males, both bidding for our heroine’s dinner-date attention. Jasper Saint is about to take control of the family business -ALL SAINTS -but for one stipulation, the position is his. Jasper must be married to remain at the top, and Kaya is perfect in the face of desperation, and Jasper’s job to protect our story line heroine. All is not well with the family dynamics within the Saint family-Jasper’s father is determined to destroy anyone who gets in his way.

Kaya Reynolds hasn’t seen her mother in close to five years. Raised in foster care before attending university, Kaya is determined to track down any and all information about her beloved mother but Kaya has been targeted for who she is, and with it, Kaya and Jasper find themselves running to protect their lives. There is a mole within the secret government organization, and the team have yet to discover the who, how or why.

The relationship between Kaya and Jasper is one of immediate attraction but a meeting predicated upon a series of lies. Jasper’s has been assigned to protect and bring in our story line heroine, a woman who refuse to tow the line in the face of secrets and lies. As the relationship quickly turns into something more, Kaya will find herself on the outside looking in when Jasper pushes away the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are erotic, passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters: Saffron and Lachlan (The Heir .5 / The King 1), Saffron’s brother Gabe Webb, and trainee Rook; Kaya’s best friend Gemma, friend Andrew, professor Xander Chase, and business tycoon Connor Phelps aka Lehman. Sandy’s Review: ARCHANGEL’S RESURRECTION is the fifteenth instalment in Nalini Singh’s adult GUILD HUNTER paranormal/fantasy romance series focusing on Archangel’s, angels, vampires, shifters and hunters. This is Archangel of Persia Alexander, and Queen of the Nile, Archangel Zanaya’s story line. ARCHANGEL’S RESURRECTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history regarding the Cascade.

Told in four parts, overlapping with several previous story line premises, covering thousands of years, using third person perspective ARCHANGEL’S RESURRECTION follows the life, the death and the life again of Archangel of Persia Alexander, and Queen of the Nile, Archangel Zanaya. Alexander and Zanaya have a colorful, riotous, and volatile history, and throughout the eons, separation would always rekindle with a violent clash as Archangel’s were not meant to be together for extended periods of time-too much power, too much ego, too many wars to protect or destroy but the time had come, Zanaya had chosen the ‘Sleep’ of the Archangel’s, leaving an embittered and heartbroken Alexander behind. –Barb’s Review: Archangel’s Resurrection by Nalini Singh is the 15th book in her wonderful Guild Hunter series.  Nalini Singh continues to amaze us with another fantastic addition to this series. Archangel’s Resurrection is centered on two wonderful heroes, as we learn everything about two ancient Archangel’s and their fantastic love over thousands of years. 

Alexander, the Archangel of Persia and Zanaya, the Queen of the Nile is a love story that lasts through eons, continuing to burn brightly, even at times when they separated over years, only to return to their true love.  Alexander is older, and when he became an Archangel, he knew he was attracted to the young Zanaya, but was determined to allow her to grow, until she became a General for her Archangel, and now Alexander claimed the woman he loved.  The relationship was strong and sizzling, but also tumultuous, causing disagreements that would last for a number of years, until they made up and resumed their deep loving relationship.  

Zanaya, after so many millenniums, decided to Sleep, leaving Alexander to live without her; temporarily shattering their love story.   When the evil Lijuan’s war happened, the cascade woke many ancient Archangels, with Zanaya waking up.  The passion between them still burns, as they stand together with other Archangels to fight Lijuan; and Alexander’s scream shatters the world as Zanaya falls being attacked by Lijuan.  Gravely injured in the battle, Zanaya is taken by Cassandra to heal; when she awakes after only ten years; she does feel a bit different, worried that she carries a small part of Lijuan. 

I loved seeing many of the other Archangels we have come to love.  In this story I loved Zanaya’s friendship with Auri, who became her best friend and her second; as well as Meher.  Avelina was also great as Alexander’s second.

Archangel’s Resurrection was a monumental love story over millenniums that was very romantic and very emotional throughout, which was a fabulous addition to this series.  I really loved Alexander and Zanaya together.

As in just about every book I read from Nalini Singh, I could not put this book down.  Archangel’s Resurrection was fantastic, taking us through millenniums with war, peace, tragedy, destruction, and a magnificent love.   If you are new to the series, you should start where it all began. Nalini Singh is one of my top favorite authors, and if you are not reading her books, you need to start now. Review:

The Wish List by Michelle Major is the 4th book in her wonderful The Carolina Girls series. This story takes place close to Christmas, and centers on the three Carlyle sisters ((Beth, Freya, Trinity), who are brought together in Magnolia when their mother has a stroke. 

Beth is the oldest sister, who has always watched over her younger sisters, when their famous mother (author) is constantly away on tours, leaving the girls to struggle.  Beth still lives in Magnolia, but her other sisters travel home to help. Beth is divorced, and a nurse at the hospital, with her ex also working there as a doctor; they do remain on friendly terms.  Privately Beth wants to step away from her burdens and leave Magnolia, once her mother is better. But when she meets Declan, will Beth allow herself to find love again, or will she leave Magnolia.

Freya is a reality tv star, who does come across early on as a bit sarcastic, especially when she meets her mother’s agent. She doesn’t trust the agent (Greer), even though they both feel their attraction to each other.  Will Freya, who seems to be getting closer to her sisters, open her cold untrusting heart.

Trinity, the youngest sister, is also pregnant, much to the surprise of her other sisters.  What they don’t know is she has run away from an abusive boyfriend.  Trinity is worried she won’t be able to handle having a child, but her sisters promise to be there for her.  Trinity meets the next-door neighbor, who just happened to be the police chief.   A friendship builds, but in time things will change to a possible romance. 

I did enjoy seeing the three sisters begin to bond, bringing the family together.  It was nice to see each of the sisters find love. I did like Beth with Declan, Freya finally with Greer, and Trinity with Ash.  I love seeing many of the characters from previous books, such as Mariella, Anji, Carrie, Avery, just to name a few. It was exciting when Trinity had her baby, and when the family stood together against the abusive boyfriend.

What follows is a wonderful heartwarming romantic story with all three Carlyle sisters playing major parts, as well as all finding love.  I enjoyed this return to Magnolia and the comfort of a family reunion; despite the many struggles along the way.  Michelle Major also created a wonderful group of secondary characters, as well as giving us a glimpse at the ladies we loved from the previous series. The Wish List was written so very well by Michelle Major, with three great sisters, hot men, and so many wonderful secondary characters.  The Wish List was a very entertaining read.

REVIEW:I think I’m going to have to start charging C.A.R for therapy with the amount of emotions this author gives me with her books. Bittersweet Promises is the first in the Montgomery Ink Legacy series, the second generation of the original Ink series. The book can be read as a standalone and as a first installment in the series, no previous read is really needed.

Leif and Brooke fell hard for one another when they were younger, they thought they would be together forever, but due to something that they had no control over, they were separated. Life continues and then on random day, they meet again,

Leif was just visiting his cousin, but when he saw who the new neighbor was, his heart all but stopped. It may have been years, but he would never forget her face. Life was about to get even more complicated. Brooke is looking for a new start, she’s not the same person she was all those years ago. Seeing Leif was like a bunch to the gut, nothing could have prepared her for seeing him again or the emotions he still stirred in her.

Brooke and Leif have both been through so much when they were apart, neither of them are the same person they were, they each have wounds and a past that they haven’t let go of. Brooke is having a hard time with her son, and trusting people isn’t something that comes easy to her. Leif however, works his way back into her heart where he has truly never left. Trusting him with not only herself but with her son comes easier to her than she expected. Leif on the other hand, has his past knocking down his door, he is stressed over his new tattoo shop and his growing love for Brooke and her son make him even more protective than he normally would be. Can these two sweethearts find it in themselves to let go of their past and grasp onto their blooming future?

C.A.R never fails to deliver a good story. Brooke and Leif and their second chance romance is sweet, spicy, funny and so very memorable. I loved the second generation and mentions of older characters, it was a really good start to the legacy series. Who’s next?

REVIEW CATCHIN’ LEVI is the fifth instalment in Morgan Jane Mitchell’s contemporary, adult RBMC: NASHVILLE, TN dark, erotic, MC series-a part of the multi-authored ROYAL BASTARDS MC. This is RBMC: Nashville enforcer, thirty-nine year old Levi ‘Leviathan’, and former gymnast turned exotic dancer, twenty-eight year old Maren Davidson’s story line. CATCHIN’ LEVI can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading Morgan Jane Mitchell’s series in order for back story and cohesion as there is a continuing theme throughout.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Maren and Levi) CATCHIN’ LEVI follows the building but controversial relationship between RBMC: Nashville enforcer, thirty-nine year old Levi ‘Leviathan’, and former gymnast , twenty-eight year old Maren Davidson. Maren Davidson is working undercover at the club owned Royal Road exotic dance club. Maren’s assignment is to seduce Royal B*stards’ MC enforcer Leviathan but finds herself falling dangerously close to something like love but all is now well when Levi discovers the true nature of our heroine’s ruse, a ruse that is placing everyone in danger including Maren herself. The Asphalt Gods MC is setting a plan into motion to take down the RBMC, using Maren as the bait for our story line hero. What ensues is the building relationship between Maren and Levi, and the fall-out when the truth is revealed threatening Levi’s place in the RBMC, and his life going forward.

The relationship between Levi and Maren is one of immediate attraction but Maren is working a job for someone else. Levi has warned Maren is doesn’t do relationships, not in the wake of betrayal by someone he loved, and with it, Maren agrees that their time together is nothing more than $ex and fun but betrayal has once again cost Levi everything he has loved, including the club for which he was willing to die. The $ex scenes are erotic, provocative and intense. Happily ever afters are for fairy tales, and I have yet to see any members of the RBMC: Nashville find their own happily ever after.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including club members, club wh*res, family, brothers, strippers and friends. With the approach of Halloween, the Royal Road has set up a haunted carnival, a night when everything is about to go to H*ll.

CATCHIN’ LEVI is a dramatic story of secrets and lies, betrayal and revenge, death, destruction, doubt and uncertainty, deception and loss. The premise is twisted, dark, gritty and haunting; the romance struggles in the face of lies and mistrust; the characters are broken, guarded, and angry. CATCHIN’ LEVI ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Wrecked by Dianna Love is the 1st book in her new HAMR Brotherhood Falca Team series. I was thrilled to find out that Dianna Love was bringing us a spin off of her fabulous Slye Temp series, as she is a master at romance suspense.  You can always be sure that Dianna will give us a thrilling story, filled with suspense, danger, action, excitement throughout.

We meet our heroine, Hallene Clarke, as she is in the midst of searching for her half-sister, who was kidnapped; her career is devoted to find missing children, and now this is close to home. Hellene is on site of where the kidnappers are hiding, and finds herself captured, but someone will rescue her.

Sam Leclair, a member of the HAMR Brotherhood/FALCA team, is also on site to rescue a kidnapped senator, and comes across Hallene, whom he rescues, but the bad men escape; Sam is injured and sent home to recuperate.  To his surprise, Hallene shows up and offers him a job, which will lead Sam to the kidnapper holding the senator, if he will help her rescue her half-sister, and not tell his team.

What follows is an exciting tense adventure with Hallene and Sam, as they were constantly in danger, with us holding our breaths often. I loved Hallene and Sam together, as slowly their attraction began to sizzle, with them trying to control their emotions.  The last half of the book was so exciting and suspenseful, that I could not put the book down.  I will not give spoilers, as there is so much happening non-stop, it would ruin it for you.  This is such a fantastic story, which you need to read from start to finish.       

Wrecked was a fantastic enemy to lover’s romantic adventure, filled with exciting action, suspense, surprises, and a sizzling couple in Sam and Hellene. The ending was a frantic race to the finish.  If you have not read anything by Dianna Love, you are missing a lot. Wrecked was so very well written by Love, and if you like romance, suspense, fantastic characters, great couples, bad villains, excitement, and fun, then you need to read this series.
