Told from third person perspectives HBMC focuses on preparation for the Christmas holidays, Ava owns a bakery shop, has a child under one year of age, and with the approach of Christmas is busier than ever. Ava loves the holidays but is struggling with Smokey’s lack of preparedness, and his secretive behavior that has our heroine thinking something more is going on. REVIEW: BULLETPROOF is the ninth and final instalment in Jo Chambliss’ contemporary, adult WATERPROOF: Navy SEALS erotic, romantic, military suspense series focusing on the US Navy SEAL Team two aka Wendigos. This is Commander Tim ‘Stone’ O’Reilly and his wife Dr. Cassidy O’Reilly’s story line. BULLETPROOF can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as a number of the events in the current timeline are as of a direct result of events in several of the previous instalments. BULLETPROOF picks up several weeks after the events of book eight FOOLPROOF.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the members of Team Two: Skin, Judge, Dallas, Ink, Hawk, Wrench, Bandaid, Fish, Devil, as well as the return and introduction of a group of private military contractors including Sadie Phelps and Aaron Hosfeld.

BULLETPROOF is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, obsession and misdirection, death and destruction, family and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing, detailed and raw; the romance is seductive; the characters are powerful, dangerous and strong.

REVIEW: DON’T SEDUCE A SPECTRE is the third instalment in Melody Raven’s contemporary, adult CRAVEN MANOR romantic, suspense series focusing on former Chicago accountant Layla Craven. DON’T SEDUCE A SPECTER can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.

SOME BACKGROUND: Having recently inherited Craven Manor located in the small but magical town of Ashland Springs, from an aunt she never knew existed, Layla quickly discovers that all is not as it appears to be in Ashland Springs. From magic to mayhem, ghosts and potions, murder and mystery, Craven Manor begins revealing its’ secrets one supernatural entity at a time including a small kitten that may or may not be of the feline variety.

Told from first person perspective (Layla) DON’T SEDUCE A SPECTER follows in the wake of yet another murder in Ashland Springs. The town is preparing for their annual community theater presentation, and our heroine, Layla Craven has ‘volunteered’ to help but shortly after her arrival, the body of theatre critic and reviewer Shane Lawson is discovered, and our heroine begins an investigation into the death, on her own. Now that her houseguest has become more or less corporeal, thanks to the presence of a magic, Layla struggles with her attraction to Adam, believing she is no longer the object of his desire and attraction but as Layla continues to investigate the murder, someone else is threatening to take down our story line heroine. With the help of her bestie Poppy, the man that she loves Adam, and a little kitten called Bubbles, Layla is about to become the center of attention in a game of betrayal and greed.

The relationship between Adam and Layla has been building throughout the series but Adam is a ghost who has no idea as to the how or why. His attraction to Layla is matched only by Layla’s need to put some distance between herself and the man with whom she is falling in love but everything in the town of Ashland Springs is centred on magic, and Layla is caught in the middle without knowing why.

DON’T SEDUCE A SPECTER is the third and final instalment in the fast paced trilogy focusing on Layla and Adam ..but.. there is no resolution to several other aspects of the series premise, which is frustrating on soooo many levels. I am going to go out on a limb and say that, hopefully, the author has plans to write more stories focusing on the people and town of Ashland Springs – we need the details and backstory, history and fates of Adam, Layla’s aunt Carolann, Poppy, and of course, Bubbles’ appearance and magical abilities.

DON’T SEDUCE A SPECTER is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and greed, love and acceptance, magic and murder. The premise is intriguing; the romance is unique and captivating; the characters are magical, determined and odd.

This is musician Trey Whitt, and hair and make-up artist Layken Grant’s story line. TREY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Trey and Layken) TREY follows in the aftermath of a one-night stand between our leading couple.Trey Whitt couldn’t remember the woman’s name with whom he spent a glorious night but discovering she was a virgin threw our hero for a loop. Desperate to find the woman that stole his heart, Trey would come face to face with Layken Grant at their next concert in town, a concert in which Trey would claim Layken as his own. A few weeks will past when Layken discovers she is pregnant with Trey’s child, a pregnancy that is revealed to the media before our heroine has a chance to tell Trey, herself. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, used only once, more for shock value than anything else.

We are reintroduced to A Rebel Havoc’s band: Madden Cole, Brix Ward and Ivy Thomas, Tysin Briggs and Kyla Cole, as well as Layken’s best friends Kate and Rhys.

TREY is a story of family, friendships, fame and love. The premise is entertaining and captivating; the characters are charismatic and lively; the romance is seductive and passionate-the conflict is limited.

Sentenced to die, Petra finds herself facing execution but will be saved by vampire Nicholas Montegue, the man with whom Petra will fall in love. As Nicholas and Petra search for the only person who may be aware of a possible cure, the group known as The Alliance sets its’ sights on our story line heroine in an effort to take down that which cannot be controlled. ? REVIEW ?: The Hope Valley series has been one of the best, most emotional series I have ever had the pleasure to read. Never For Him is the final installment in this series, and I’m not ready for it to end.

Hunter is the last of the Alpha Omega Team to find his special someone. Only, he’s not looking. Or he thought he wasn’t. Serenity with all her fiery passion and wildness has a way about her that Hunter can’t seem to resist. The walls around his heart he has spent years tending to are all but crumbling when she’s around. He has a traumatic past, one that still haunts him to this day, and one he never wants to experience again.

Serenity is strong, independent , capable and well aware that she doesn’t need a man. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want one. The right one. The one to build a life with. After leaving her family business, all Serenity wants is a normal life. A job, friends and happiness.

When Serenity and Hunter are together you can feel the chemistry, the heat and all the tension. There are moments in this that will bring you to tears, and others that will make you wish you could slap a person through a book. All the drama, all the heat, all the emotions. When Hunter finally starts to drop the walls he has spent so long building, you really start to see his heart of gold. But can he truly let go of his past?

I freaking loved this book. The author’s note before the book is a must read!! Hunter and Serenity are made for one another and I just want more. So much more. Knowing that this is the last book in the Hope Valley Series is such a blow. These characters have come to mean so much to so many readers, myself included. All we can do now is hope to see them again, even if it’s in a spin off.

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.

In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.

Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

REVIEW: BRATVA ANGEL is the fourth instalment in Sabine Barclay’s contemporary, adult IVANKOV BROTHERHOOD erotic, Bratva, romance series. This is thirty year old, second in command in the Ivankov Brotherhood Aleksei ‘Aleks’ Kutsenko, and twenty-eight year old, high school theatre teacher Heather Hampton’s story line. BRATVA ANGEL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Aleks and Heather) BRATVA ANGEL follows the building romance and relationship between thirty year old, second in command in the Ivankov Brotherhood Aleksei ‘Aleks’ Kutsenko, and twenty-eight year old, high school theatre teacher Heather Hampton. An accidental meeting with Aleks Kutsenko at a local grocery store pulls Heather Hampton into a world she knew little about. Aleksei Kutsenko is the second in command of the Ivankov Brotherhood, and the Bratva is at war with both the Mafia and Cartel. Heather is the daughter of a soon to be retired police officer, and the Kutsenko family questions to whom her allegiance will sway but there is more to Heather’s family than anyone could have imagined, and the connections go deeper, threatening the lives Heather, Aleks, and the people they love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Heather and Aleks, and the potential fall-out as perceived betrayal, desperation and vengeance are at the heart of the attacks against our story line couple.

The relationship between Heather and Aleks is one of immediate attraction; a rapidly building romance between two people from opposite sides of the law but a romance predicated upon understanding, acceptance and love. Heather is determined to swear her allegiance to the family, while Aleks claims Heather as his happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and provocative with some scenes of bondage, discipline, anal and rope play. There is a Daddy/baby girl dynamic between our couple, a dynamic seen with every couple in the author’s series.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters: Pasha’s brothers- Anton, Sergei, Mischa and their parents Alina and Grigori; Maksim and Laura (Bratva Darling 1), Bogdan and Christina (Bratva Sweetheart 2), Pasha and Sumiko (Bratva Beauty 4) and their mother Galina. We are introduced to Heather’s parents John and Maureen Hampton, as well as her sister Danielle, and her husband Mike. The requisite evil has many faces.

BRATVA ANGEL is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and compelling; the romance is seductive ; the characters are powerful, determined and strong.
