After defeating her crazed fiancé from the Bolentia Realm, Trinity and her human love, Jayden, are finally enjoying a quiet life at his isolated cabin while she learns how to exist on Earth, despite her still missing memory.

But when Jayden’s artistic success leads them to New York, they unknowingly stumble into a city plagued with nefarious scientists bent on exploiting supernatural creatures like Trinity.

Caught in the middle of a desperate interstellar battle between humans and other Realm beings like herself, Trinity must tap into the deeply buried instincts as a super-skilled Bolentian Guard or lose everything she’s come to love.

•••••

REVIEW:CLIPPED is the second instalment in Lynn Rush’s contemporary, adult WINGED paranormal/fantasy series focusing on nineteen year old Bolentian Trinity Dawkins, and the human she loves, twenty-three year old, artist Jayden Brown. CLIPPED should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book one CROSSED.

SOME BACKGROUND: Days earlier Trinity Dawkins was found wondering the streets of Berg, Minnesota, a young woman without the ability to see or talk. Rescued by artist Jayden Brown, Trinity will quickly recover but for the strange scars that appear on her back. Falling for Jayden was easy but Trinity was unaware of the true nature of her DNA, DNA that would reveal hidden wings and someone else waiting for her back home.

Told from first first perspective (Trinity) CLIPPED continues to follow Trinity Dawkins as she relearns the who and what of her previous life, in the wake of another attempted abduction. Trinity is not the only Bolentian that has crossed between Realms, and in the wake, the EMA (Extraterrestrial Marshalling Agency), a rogue division of the US Government, is determined to take down, and take control of those they deem a danger and unworthy. On the run, on foot or in flight, imprisoned in a lab to be dissected and tested, Trinity and her fellow Bolentians must come to terms with a perceived betrayal, another suitor for Trinity’s love, and the potential danger everything and everyone poses to the man Trinity has claimed as her mate.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and magical secondary and supporting characters. We are re-introduced to Jayden’s agent , Zander; Detective Nicks; Trinity’s cousin August, as well as Bastian and Trystan, Sierra, Devon, Catherine, Shona and Easton; Romah from the Shentak Realm; and Jayden’s ex Grace.

CLIPPED is a story of discrimination and speciesism; betrayal and vengeance, madness and obsession, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is action packed and captivating; the characters are numerous, powerful and energetic; there are no $ex scenes, the romance is mostly implied as the couple are rarely together.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 18, 2023

Can a brilliant physician and a brave outcast find happiness while battling potential genocide?

Olarra sacrifices everything to warn Benlon about a Pylorian plot that threatens his entire species. Their attraction smolders and flares while they battle the destructive nanobots wreaking havoc inside each lunar raider. They try to stay focused on the crisis, but bonding fever is impossible to ignore. The Pylorians sabotage their progress at every turn, and time is running out!

••••••

REVIEW:  BENLON is the fifth instalment in Cyndi Friberg’s adult LUNAR UPRISING sci-fi romance series. This is medic-class Commander Benlon, and microbiologist Olarra’s story line. BENLON can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.

SOME BACKGROUND: Eight years earlier, six Pylorian spaceships arrived on Earth asking for asylum claiming they were fleeing their immortal enemy, the wolf-like Morax, but in the ensuing years, the Pylorian began to take control, using their considerable powers to force the governments of Earth to do their bidding. In an effort to protect Earth, the Pylorian’s claim to have cultivated aka created the lunar raiders, a hybrid of three alien species (Morax, Pylorian, Dox Tory) one of which reacts instantly when their destined mate is near.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Benlon and Olarra) BENLON follows in the wake of the genocide of several species propagated by the aggressive Pylorians. Having created several hybrids of alien species, the Pylorians have implemented an ‘expiration syndrome’ meant to be lethal, nanobots when activated, quickly destroy and take down their intended target, their hybrid host. As a hybrid herself, Olarra is all too aware of the discrimination many have faced at the hands of their ‘creators’, hands that are now systematically killing those who have escaped to friendlier planets. Knowing any help will come at a cost, Olarra finds herself the victim of an attempted assassination, and the only help will come from the man who governs several Pylorian cities, a man close to our heroine’s heart.

Meanwhile, Benlon, the medic-class Commander knows that Olarra is his mate but Olarra is a hybrid, and does not have the same capacity to know when her fated mate is near. As Benlon struggles to convince Olarra of their future together, the timing is all wrong as thousands are dying because of their genetics and modified DNA. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Olarra and Benlon, and the potential fall-out as our heroine is targeted for who she is, and what she knows.

The relationship between Olarra and Benlon is one of fated mates but Olarra is part Pylorian, and Pylorian’s do not take permanent mates. Olarra battles between head and heart, unable to trust the man with whom she will fall in love, having faced a lifetime of discrimination from the people in charge. As Olarra and Benlon’s relationship quickly builds into something more, an assassination attempt threatens to end their love before it has had a chance to grow. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Zorak and Cara; Leko and Julia: Dracus and Addison, Prime Commander Vosic, and Olarra’s father Governor Kreth.

BENLON is a story of discrimination and racism; genocide and murder, love and acceptance, loss and grief. The fast paced premise is captivating and engaging but all too familiar in reality; the characters are power, struggling, and charismatic; the romance is seductive but fated. BENLON ends on a happily ever after-for now.

Hidden Comrade by Jillian David – a Review

Hidden Comrade by Jillian David – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Apple

Description:
Pele Tuitama’s Morpheus Squad mission infiltrating a Smoky Mountain children’s camp is FUBAR. He might be a virally-enhanced military experiment, but augmented abilities won’t help him protect Reagan McNeill, the most unsecure-able target imaginable. Sweet Reagan’s kisses and the possibility of a future he should never consider, distracts his laser focus. If Pele can’t keep Reagan safe from an evil adversary bent on revenge against the entire McNeill family, then Reagan will die.

After a nasty breakup, Reagan doesn’t trust any man—or herself. Enter handsome Pele, the world’s worst camp counselor. She doesn’t believe his story or his motives. When overly-protective Pele draws her close and then rejects her, Reagan is finished with games. Then the truth she learns rips open recently-healed emotional wounds.

In order to escape through the mountains, Pele must share his deadliest secret. To have a chance at their future, they must reveal their demons and pray for acceptance … and survival.

Review:

Hidden Comrade by Jillian David is the 2nd book in her Project Morpheus series, and I would suggest that before reading this one, you read book one. Reading the first one although not absolutely necessary, will give you a better understanding of this book. I’d read the first book (which is great by the way), I did wonder where the next book would take us….and let me tell you it’s bumpy ride! .

Reagan is Kiera’s older sister. (She’s the main female character from the first book) And as a whole the family have suffered terribly (what with the loss of their mother and the death of their brother, which was explained in book one.)

Reagan has also had to deal with her abusive ex-fiance. She’d been with him for two years, she’s struggled to find herself, but slowly she’s getting there. But still has moments of self doubt.

Pele’s job/assignment is to protect Reagan. It’s not going to easy as she works outdoors in the mountains at an educational camp for children. In the short space of time, he’s set up cameras to keep an eye on her. But plans won’t go correctly if the subject is Reagan!

Reagan doesn’t trust the new camp councilor, he just doesn’t fit in! But he is easy on the eye. ?nether the less, she’s not interested in a new relationship, she just wants to concentrate on helping the kids. The back and forwards between Pele and Reagan will have you laughing one minute then wanting to shake either character in the next.

Although a slow burn romance, it doesn’t lack for action/betrayal and mystery. Pele does try my patience, it’s a push and pull with him, he wants her, but he doesn’t think he deserves her. And when they finally decide to try at a relationship, a secret comes along and blows Reagan’s shaky confidence. Can they really move forward and leave the past behind?

I’d have to say I liked the first book more than this one. But I can’t wait to read the next book.

••••••

REVIEW: BREWER is the four instalment in Jessica Ames’ contemporary adult UNTAMED SONS MC MANCHESTER erotic, dark, MC romance series. This is Untamed Sons MC treasurer Madden ‘Brewer’ Kelley, and Ophelia Morris’ story line. BREWER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ophelia and Brewer) BREWER focuses on the protection of our story line heroine. Several years earlier Madden Kelley beat the man who was abusing his sister but Madden bided his time in prison, fantasizing about Ophelia Morris, his cell mates’ daughter. Fast forward to present day wherein Madden, now known as Brewer, gets a call from the prison, his former cell mates’ daughter has been targeted for her father’s sin. Enter Ophelia Morris, and the woman with whom Brewer will fall in love. As Brewer and the Untamed Sons MC struggle to protect our story line heroine, including killing anyone who takes aim at Ophelia Morris, retaliation is deadly and swift, placing the Untamed Sons MC at with the Dudley Pioneers MC. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Ophelia and Brewer, and the fall-out as innocent lives are lost in the fight for vengeance between warring MCs.

Madden ‘Brewer’ Kelley served his sentence to protect his sister but never expected to come face to face with his prison fantasy. A call from Ophelia’s father reveals a target on our heroine’s back, and Jeff Morris calls in a debt to protect his only child.Ophelia Morris knew nothing of her father’s life behind bars, and hadn’t seen or spoken to the man in several years but a call warning her that her life was in danger pulls Ophelia into a life she knows nothing about. Finding herself in the arms of the man she has fantasized about for several years means falling for a man who has placed his life and the life of his brothers in the direct line of fire.

The relationship between Ophelia and Brewer started years before when Brewer first met Ophelia when our heroine was a teen. Trying to separate Ophelia from the life he will always lead, Brewer kept his distance until the payment of a debt meant pulling Ophelia into a life from which she may never return. Falling for Ophelia is easy, claiming her the right thing to do but protecting Ophelia is dangerous and deadly for everyone concerned. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and dangeros secondary and supporting characters most of whom we have met in previous instalments . We are introduced to Ophelia’s best friend Farrah; Ophelia’s father Jeff Morris, as well as Brewer’s sister Serenity aka Wren, and nomad biker Hawk. Wren and Hawk’s story line is next.

BREWER is a quick read; a fast paced story of family, relationships, death and destruction, madness and mayhem, love and acceptance. The premise is dark, gritty, and heart breaking; the romance is impassioned; the characters are dangerous and determined.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 24, 2023

Trace Caldo’s smart mouth always gets him in trouble. As the youngest of three brothers, he’s used to scrapping to earn respect. But when he picks a fight with the wrong person, Trace ends up kidnapped, bound, and blindfolded with no hope for escape. And when a beautiful woman comes to his rescue and offers him a way to staying alive, Trace can’t refuse her.

Ana Marie Kelly appears to live a charmed life. Raised in a wealthy family, she has everything a woman can want—if you don’t count freedom. Ana’s always been under her father’s thumb, expected to do as she’s told and not bring shame upon the family. But when Ana makes a mistake that could send her life in a tailspin, she can only think of one way out—the handsome man in her father’s garage.

…and their only way out is to say, “I do.”

••••

REVIEW: The Gallo’s are near and dear to me, and Ana even more so. Ana’s story is one of strength, perseverance, love and determination. I am so overjoyed that she finally got her HEA. Torch is the eleventh installment in the Men Of Inked: Heatwave spinoff by the ever talented Chelle Bliss.

Without too many spoilers, Ana’s life isn’t all that it is cracked up to be. Sure, she was raised by a wealthy family, has never had to want for anything, but that is only on the surface. What is underneath all that fake is something far darker. Ana is a woman with no freedom, she exists solely for her family, and is controlled by a father who will never let her go. Poor Ana has been mentally abused and belittled her entire life. Enough is enough already. She has to get out, and the only way to do that is to help the man than her father kidnapped

Trace is the youngest of the Caldo brothers and the one that always finds himself in need of rescue one way or the other. Well this time he needs more than just a helping hand, he needs an actual rescue. He’s been kidnapped. When the unknown Ana comes to his aid at random, he is surprised, but doesn’t care, he just wants to get out of there. However, to save each other they are going to have to do something extreme, something that ends with I Do.

I loved Trace and Ana together! Trace has always come off as cocky, no cares guys that didn’t have a worry in the world, but that quickly changed when Ana came into the picture. It was so amazing to watch as Ana came out of her shell under Trace and his family’s guidance. They treated her like she had always been a part of their family, it was so moving. A real family is all Ana has truly ever dreamt of, and Trace was the one that gave it to her. Of course there is some drama towards the end, and Trace and Ana are tested, but that won’t stop them, they both are determined to keep what they have found.

Torch was a fantastically wonderful read that will surely bring joy to its readers.

Coercion (Controlling Interest 3) by Amelia Wilde-review tour

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Chapters Indigo / Google Play / Apple /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date JANUARY 24, 2023

There’s a fight to the death… and a fight for his heart.

COERCION is book three in the Controlling Interest trilogy. Find out what happens in the explosive conclusion of Will Leblanc’s emotional story.

•••••••

REVIEW:COERCION is the third and final instalment in Amelia Wilde’s contemporary, adult CONTROLLING INTEREST erotic, romance trilogy focusing on thirty year old, billionaire Will LeBlanc, and PA Bristol Anderson’s story line. COERCION should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the cliff hanger and events of book two EXTORTION. COERCION and the Controlling Interest series is a spin off from, and set in the same world as the Author’s THE COLLECTOR trilogy focusing on Will’s brother Emerson LeBlanc. Will’s brothers Emerson and Sinclair cross over for cohesion and back story.

SOME BACKGROUND: In the wake of her father’s troubles, Bristol Anderson embezzled $50,000 from the investment firm where she was temporarily working, embezzlement that is discovered within hours of implementation. To pay off her sins, Bristol is ‘forced’ to work alongside, and do everything Will LeBlanc demands including any and all sexual favors both in and out of the proverbial bedroom but there is more at stake including the lives of Bristol and her younger siblings Mia and Ben, lives that are threatened for their father’s sins of the past.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Bristol and Will) COERCION continues to focus on the building romance and relationship between thirty year old, billionaire Will LeBlanc, and PA Bristol Anderson, as well as the continued safety of Bristol’s ten year old, younger siblings. Bristol’s father is in desperate need of money, and he isn’t above using his children to pay off his debts but the twin’s disappearance forces Bristol to face the truth, about the man with whom she is falling in love, and his extended family who have secrets of their own. As Bristol and Will’s relationship turns into something more, Will and his brothers must confront their own past, a past that is hoping for a second chance.

The relationship between Will and Bristol begins as a short-lived business arrangement that will quickly turn into something more. With Bristol’s attempts to embezzle money, Will will use anything and everything to gain control of the woman with whom he will fall in love. As Bristol confronts the demons from her past, Will must come to terms with what was, and what may never be. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Bristol’s siblings Ben and Mia; Will’s brothers Emerson and Sinclair; Finn Hughes, security specialist Evan Donovan; Bristol’s father, and Will’s mother. The requisite evil has many faces.

COERCION is a story of dysfunctional family dynamics on both sides of the relationship; power and control; greed and addiction, betrayal and forgiveness. The premise is intense and captivating; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are energetic, struggling but healing.
