REVIEW:WAIT FOR ALWAYS is the fourth instalment in KA Linde’s contemporary, adult COASTAL CHRONICLES erotic, romance series. This is businessman Ash Talmadge, and fashion designer/boutique owner Amelia Ballentine’s story line. WAIT FOR ALWAYS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading book one HOLD THE FOREVERS where Ash Talmadge’s story begins. WAIT FOR ALWAYS follows several timelines crossing over with all of the previous instalments.

NOTE: For fans of KA Linde, there is a slight cross over with the author’s CRUEL Series. If you have not read the Coastal Chronicles series or book one, there may be spoilers in my review.

Told from first person perspective (Amelia) jumping between several timelines WAIT FOR ALWAYS follows the acrimonious romance and relationship between Ash Talmadge and Amelia Ballantine. Amelia Ballantine has been in love with her brother’s best friend Ash Talmadge for as long as she can remember but an errant kiss would break her heart when she watched from the sidelines as Ash Talmadge fell in love with someone else. Life, loves, heart break and betrayals would continue to push Ash and Amelia together but through it all, Ash struggled to move on from the one that got away. What ensues is the back and forth, building romance and relationship between Amelia and Ash, and the potential fall-out as the past continues to control our story line hero.

Ash Talmadge has lusted after his best friend’s sister, a young woman two years younger but a woman who had yet to experience the world. Walking, falling, dropping or crashing in and out of one another’s lives for years, would pull at the heart but none more so than our story line heroine. Amelia watched from afar as Ash’s life imploded, as he continued to pine for a woman who had fallen in love with someone else, while Amelia battled between head and heart knowing she had given her love to a man who loved someone else.

The relationship between Ash and Amelia is fraught with palpable sexual and emotional attraction. Ash struggles to move on from the woman he claimed he would always loved, while Amelia realized she would never experience the love she so wanted from Ash. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and seductive without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include all of the previous story line couples, as well as Amelia’s father Doug, his wife Kathy, and Amelia’s mother. There is history between businessman Nolan Holden and Amelia’s cousin Marina-here’s hoping the author has plans for their story.

WAIT FOR ALWAYS is an emotional story of family and relationships, denial and grief, love and heart break, acceptance and understanding. The premise is captivating and consuming; the romance is emotional and exciting; the characters are struggling, determined and charismatic.

Review:

The Backup Plan by Jill Shalvis is the 3rd book in her Sunrise Cove series. Though this is a continuation of the Sunrise Cove series, all three of these books read as standalones. The main characters in The Backup Plan are Alice, Lauren and Knox. All three of them are thrown together, when they learn that each of them inherited 1/3 share of the Wild West Inn from Eleanor, who recently passed away.    The three of them had ties to Eleanor, with Lauren and Alice having been best friends in their teenage years, but a tragedy broke up their friendship.  Knox, as a teen, had helped his mother working at the Inn.  They agree to spend a month together to fix up the inn, and decide to either sell or have a firm run the inn for them. 

Memories of the past, continues to keep Lauren and Alice at a distance, though each still very much care about each other. When tragedy struck, with the loss of Alice’s brother, she ran away, leaving Lauren in Sunrise Cove, never coming back. Alice knew Knox in high school, and had a secret crush on him.  Their complicated pasts make things difficult at first, especially when they read the letters written by Eleanor that helps them deal with the issues, and hopefully allowing them to grieve and forgive. 

A slow build romance between Alice and Knox begins, with wonderful chemistry that sizzles.   Slowly, Alice and Lauren find a way to open up old wounds, and realize their friendship was worth saving.  I really loved all three of them, as they were great characters, with lots of banter between them.  I also loved Knox’s dog, Pickle; who was a wonderful addition. It was also fun to watch Lauren slowly open up to a possible relationship with Ben.

What follows is an excellent, heartwarming story revolving around friendship, family, secrets, love and forgiveness. The Backup Plan was so very well written by Jill Shalvis. It had a bit of everything, including three wonderful characters, emotional, romance, banter, and all three moving forward with friendship and true love.  I recommend you read The Backup Plan, as you can never go wrong reading anything by Jill Shalvis.

Cole, Nico and Adalyn were such a great read. There is so much emotional pain in Cole, but also hope for something better. Nico and Adalyn add something that Cole didn’t even know he was missing. This book truly does have it all, drama, spice, turmoil and fear, all resulting in a brutal battle with the baddy of the story.

Mated In Chaos is the third book in the Aspen Pack series by Carrie Ann Ryan. As always I recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of it, but you can read each book as a standalone if you so chose. Mated in Chaos is a story filled with struggle, fear and redemption. Ms. Author has a way with words that matches few. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

The relationship between Micah and Isabel begins as a fake fiancée/relationship in order to appease the clients, the gossip and the tabloid paparazzi. Isabel knows that their time together will eventually come to an end but both are hoping that to get involved doesn’t mean to destroy their friendship in the process. The $ex scenes are intimate, aggressive and erotic but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word in my romance story line.

We are reintroduced to Micah’s brother Luca, and his daughter Jenny; Isabel’s mother Mrs. Diaz, as well as the introduction of our next story line heroine.

MICAH is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is entertaining and spicy; the romance is provocative and edgy; the characters determined and energetic.

Secrets would tear our couple apart, forgiveness and understanding will bring them together but Ozzie has a kinky side, one Sofia is about to discover, when he introduces our heroine to The Citadel $ex Club. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense; there are some same $ex scenarios between Sofia and the club Dominatrix, as well as voyeurism, and discipline.

The secondary and supporting characters include Luca, Bella and Luca’s daughter Jenny; Micah and Bella, as well as their cousin Dante Corsetti.

SOFIA is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, family and love. The premise is engaging and interesting; the characters are energetic; the romance is seductive and provocative but herein lies the problem-up until Ozzie takes Sofia to the $ex club there is no mention, no inclination and no hint about what was to come-which in turn felt out of place to the overall story line. Sofia accepts everything, doesn’t question what Ozzie is offering including breath play, voyeurism, BDSM, Dominatrix etc.
