There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, dynamic and familiar faces, many of whom we have met in previous instalments including the Intruders MC, as well as many of the author’s other series : the Grimm Wolves MC, and the multi-authored Mayhem Makers series.

TAZ is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, discrimination, racism, murder and abuse. The complex premise is dark, gritty and twisted; the romance is provocative; the characters are desperate, determined and haunted. TAZ ends on a happily ever after-for now. There conflict has yet to be completely eliminated.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Sam and Bree) FUNNY GUY follows the friends to lovers relationship between Sam and Bree. Sam and Bree were childhood best friends from the proverbial wrong side of the tracks, struggling in their day to day existence but as they grew older, Sam needed a release, and found said release in stand up comedy, finally landing a coveted spot on New York’s Comedy Hour. As their respective careers took off, Sam and Bree would come in and out of one another’s lives until the day Sam proposed marriage to someone else. A tumultuous relationship and breakout played out for the world to ‘hear’ left Sam the target of mean tweets and jokes, landing Sam on his best friend’s couch in an effort to hide but Sam is oblivious to Bree’s attraction and love, a love that is about to push our hero out of her life. What ensues is the best friends to lovers romance and relationship, and the fall-out as Sam torpedoes his own career for the woman he loves.

Sam Leyland’s life is about to implode for all of the world to see. An ugly break up, immortalized on YouTube and song makes Sam the target of social media and paparazzi, as his life continues to spiral out of control. In an effort to diffuse the ticking time bomb that is his career, the writers at Comedy Hour devise a sketch addressing the nightmare that is his life, a sketch in hopes of saving his career but all does not go according to plan when an impromptu stand up sends Sam off the deep end, effectively threatening everything including the woman he loves. Bryony Edwards has loved her best friend for as long as she can remember but watching from the sidelines as Sam gave his heart to everyone else meant it was time for Bryony to move on, without the man that she loves.

The relationship between Bree and Sam is best friends to lovers; unrequited love that intensifies with a short lived term of close proximity in which Sam hides in seclusion from the paparazzi in the wake of his immortalized break up. Bree has supported Sam Leyland all of his life but it was now time that Bree made an effort to support herself. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate .

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and fascinating secondary and supporting characters including Sam’s fellow comedians at Comedy Hour, and Bree’s co-workers at New York’s planning commission, all o whom play a significant part throughout the story.

FUNNY GUY is a familiar story; an amalgamation of Saturday night comedy sketches, heart broken pop star million seller songs, the meltdown and spiral of a famous comedian, and the resurrection of a career based upon said spiral and fall out. The premise is entertaining and fascinating; the romance is captivating; the characters are desperate, broken, and determined.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives CHICK MAGNET focuses on the building romance and relationship between small town veterinarian Dr. Will Lund and YouTuber Nicole Jones. Nicole Jones walked away from an emotionally abusive relationship, having been insulted and destroyed on social media. Known as the ‘Chick Nic’, a YouTuber who gives advice on raising chickens, Nicole Jones founds herself back in her grandmother’s home town where she will meet cantankerous veterinarian Dr. Will Lund. Will’s business is struggling in the aftermath of COVID19, and without a quick influx of cash, Will is considering shutting down but having met his new neighbor, and the current bane of his existence, Will reconsiders his future, a future that is threatened by the bank’s foreclosure. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Will and Nicole, and the potential fall-out as Nicole’s past returns to add insult to injury, and Will must consider what’s next in his career.

The relationship between Will and Nicole begins acrimoniously when one of Nicole’s chickens becomes ill. Will is opposed to the recreational breeding and ownership of chickens, and Nicole’s YouTube channel has become one of the more popular channels for chicken hobbiests. Will’s attraction to Nicole is immediate but his business is failing, and our hero perceives himself as a failure, a failure who doesn’t believes he is entitled to love. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

The secondary and supporting characters include several locals who know everything and everyone in Yagerstown. The townies support one another; are aware of Nicole’s YouTube fame; and the only black mark on the otherwise group of loveable people are Nicole’s ex, and the questionable attitude of Will Lund’s family.

CHICK MAGNET is a sweet story of familiar and success during and after COVID19. The premise is endearing and entertaining; the characters are energetic and captivating; the romance is seductive.

REVIEW: DIRTY FILTHY BILLIONAIRE is a stand alone, contemporary, erotic, romance novella, found in Laurelin Paige’s DIRTY UNIVERSE series, a part of the 1001 Dark Nights instalment. This is thirty-four year old, billionaire media mogul Steele Sebastian, and PA Simone Lima’ story line. FIRTY FILTHY BILLIONAIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from first person perspective (Simone Lima) DIRTY FILTHY BILLIONAIRE follows the highly sexual relationship between thirty-four year old, billionaire media mogul Steele Sebastian, and PA Simone Lima. Simone Lima is Donovan Kincaid’s PA, and our ‘borrowed’ her boss’ invite to the annual media awards dinner but Simone never expected n to meet her future in the guise of billionaire Steele Sebastian, a man who pushes all of our heroine’s buttons. From the outset, the sexual tension is heavy and palpable, and a few ‘clandestine’ meetings at one another’s work place reveals a possible ulterior motive to Steele’s interested in Simone. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Simone and Steele, and the potential fall-out as lies of omission have Simone questioning her affair with Steele Sebastian.

The relationship between Simone and Steele is one of immediate attraction but Simone questions Steele’s attraction to, and interest in our story line heroine. Simone knows nothing about the man with whom. she is rapidly about to get intimate but she will quickly question his motives when off-hand comments put her on alert. The $ex scenes are provocative, intimate and demanding but I dislike the author’s use of a certain four-letter word.

The secondary and supporting characters include Donovan Kincaid, and Steele’s brother Holt.

DIRTY FILTHY BILLIONAIRE is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, forgiveness and acceptance. The fast paced premise is captivating; the romance is erotic and intense; the characters are determined and powerful.

Here’s the thing—will Donovan fire me for using his discarded invites without his permission? No.
Will he reprimand me? Also, no.
Will he take advantage of my desire to attend these functions and put me to work at future events? No, probably not.
In fact, he’d probably pat me on the back while giving me one of his infamous smirks and tell me how to get a hold of his partners’ discarded invites as well. Donovan and I are two of a kind like that, which is the real reason he keeps me around, not my awesome PA skills. It’s not always easy to find company while walking semi-ethical lines.
But this is my thing. My thing that has nothing at all to do with who I am during office hours. It’s personal and private and sort of embarrassing, when I think about admitting it out loud, because it’s not just about getting free food. Hell’s Kitchen apartments take a fair amount of my salary, but Donovan pays well. I can afford to go out.
I just don’t really want to go eat solo in expensive restaurants.
People stare and whisper. Not that I care what they think, but it’s distracting. It’s much easier to be a solo at a business function. Maybe my plus one is involved in the actual event. Maybe they canceled, last minute. Maybe I’m there purely because of work, and no one whispers or stares or judges, and waiters don’t give me pitying comments, and strange men don’t (usually) take it as an opportunity to hit on me.
It’s a perfect hobby, as far as I’m concerned, and I’ll be damned if it’s taken away because of the hazel-eyed assface who sat at my table, who is the sole reason I’m out in the lobby at the same time Donovan is.
I have half a mind to turn around and go tear that too-hot-for-his-own-good fucker to shreds, and I would if my boss wasn’t looking at me like I’m a lifeline.
I quickly try to make up a backstory. “Uh, Donovan…I’m…” Try and fail. “Hi. You’re here.”
He waves to a security guard then points at me, which…okay. Maybe I was wrong thinking he wouldn’t be mad. He really doesn’t have to go so far as to bring security in.
But though the guard is eyeing us, he doesn’t make a move, letting Donovan approach me.
“Hey, I’m looking for Sabrina. Do you…?” Donovan trails off, and I can see that I misjudged the situation, because it’s just now that his expression becomes suspicious. “What are you doing here? Did you use my ticket?”
“No!” The denial was too obvious, but I’ve chosen my path. Now I have to walk it. “No. Of course I didn’t do that. I just. I’m, um, here—”
Suddenly, an arm slips around my waist. “She’s here with me. It’s okay, Simone. We don’t have to keep it a secret.”
I look up to see it’s none-other-than the antagonizing prick from the ballroom, and I’m both shocked and…aroused?
I mean, I’m not into being rescued. By anyone. Ever.
