REVIEW:A Love Worth Saving is an intense, emotion filled, second chance romance that takes readers on a journey of self love and vulnerability. Michelle Grey truly bares a part of her soul in this book. After reading, I did learn that there is a story before this that acts as a duet to Saving. While I did not read it beforehand, I had no trouble keeping up with the plot and characters, so it is safe to say, read it at will.

Sophia and Kyle weren’t the typical, “he did something stupid and didn’t talk to me first” type of romance. Grey digs deep into the psyche as she develops the couple’s past, which then brings them to their future and the drama that is starting to unfold there. Grey goes even further into detail by using PTSD and mental health as a key factor for the reasoning behind some of their complications.

Sophia and Kyle have a past, one that involved them hurting each other, even though it wasn’t what they wanted. Kyle has never forgotten Sophia, and because of that, he makes it his life mission to be a better man than he was before. When someone is threatening Sophie, just when she starts thinking her luck has run out, one of the last people she thought she would ever see again comes to her rescue.

A Love Worth Saving is a redemption story, for those readers who enjoy that genre of story, this will be right up your alley. Nothing worth anything is always worth fighting for.

SHADOW can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order.Serenity is Octavia’s sister DIGGER #3.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Serenity & Shadow) SHADOW follows the building and second chance relationship between Serenity and Shadow. Five years earlier, Shadow and Serenity had a one night stand but Shadow never promised a future, leaving a heart broken Serenity broken hearted. Fast forward to present day Serenity finds herself the victim of a violent attack, and in the wake, Shadow claim Serenity as his own. As guardian and protector, Shadow comes to realize he loves the woman whose heart he destroyed but Serenity still has a target on her back, and Shadow is determined to take down the people responsible. What ensues is the building relationship between Serenity and Shadow, and the potential fall-out as Shadow struggles with demons from his past, once again, destroying Serenity in the process.

The world building continues to focus on the members of the Fury Vipers MC, and the ongoing struggles with sins from the past. Not only is Serenity targeted for someone else’s problems, but the MC must come to terms with betrayal from within.

The relationship between Shadow and Serenity is one of second chances, of a sorts. Serenity and Shadow had been dancing around one another for years but one night together meant more to Serenity than to our story line hero. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Preacher whose own life is about to change.

SHADOW is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, violence, trauma, murder and assault. The premise is dark, graphic and gritty; the romance is provocative; the characters are broken, determined and desperate.

Review:

The Weaver and the Witch Queen by Genevieve Gornichec is standalone historical fantasy that takes place in the Viking age.  We meet three young girls, two sisters (Signy and Oddny) and a best friend (Gunnhild), who are at the start 12 years old.  At their young age, the girls have no control over their fate as women, and though the three of them swear an oath to each other, and in a short time, a seer will change their lives. Gunnhild has a terrible relationship with her mean mother, and when she is offered to go with the seer, and learn magic, she leaves her home, not to been again for 12 years.

12 Years later, Oddny and Signy’s family is attacked by Viking Raiders, killing most of the residents of their villiage.  Oddny manages to escape, and Signy is captured by the Vikings. With her family dead, Oddny is determined to do anything to find her sister.  Gunnhild over these many years, has learned from her seer, how to use her witch magic and powers.  She and her mentor seer, try to fight off three other witches; knowing how powerful these others are.  Gunnhild and Oddny eventually find each other, and together they are committed to find out why this attack happened, and to rescue Signy. 

Gunnhild makes arrangements to go home, offering her services as a witch, protecting King Eirik, heir apparent to the ruler of all Norway. At first Eirik is not enamored with Gunnhild, until he sees she maybe able to help to him. I did enjoy the snarky relationship between Gunnhild and Eirik; as neither one of them liked each other. Time will change things for both Gunnhild and Eirik, as well as Oddny and Halldor. What I loved the most was the wonderful powers that proved women are capable of fighting this war; especially with their magic, powers, and strong bond between them.

What follows is an exciting, intense, emotional, non-stop action in the last half of the book, which had me unable to put the book down. The Weaver and the Witch Queen was a gripping, intensive, adventurous and fascinating mythology; so very well written by Genevieve Gornichec.  This was a fantastic read, and I loved the epilogue.  If you enjoy fantasy, you need to wholly read this book.

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Weston and Kayleigh) TEXAS BODYGUARD: WESTON follows in the wake of threats against out story line heroine. Kayleigh Delacruz and Weston were childhood friends but Weston grew up in the child welfare system, and was sent to another foster home without any notice. Fast forward to present day, billionaire investor Leo Delacruz is desperate to more protection for his only daughter, and contracts with San Antonio Security but more specifically his daughter’s friend Weston Patterson. Kayleigh Delacruz is unaware of Weston’s involvement but lies by omission threaten their rebuilding friendship but at every turn, Kayleigh is pushing for her continued independence, an independence that is threatened by the target on her back. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and love between Weston and Kayleigh, and the potential fall-out as the threats against Kayleigh may come from someone she knows.

The world building continues to focus on the backstory and history of the Patterson siblings-four non-blood brothers adopted by the Patterson family, four brothers who grew up to protect the people they love. When Weston is tagged to protect our story line heroine, Weston is hoping for a second chance, a second chance at the woman he has never forgotten.

The relationship between Weston and Kayleigh is one of second chances: a rekindling friendship that was broken when Weston was sent to another foster home. Like his ‘brothers’, Weston’s earlier life was one of sorrow and pain, and the only happiness was the summer he spent with out story line heroine. There are no $ex scenes -everything is implied.

Once again, we are reintroduced to Weston’s brothers: Luke (Claire), Brax (Tessa) and Chance, as well as their parents Clinton and Sheila Patterson; Kayleigh’s father Joe Delacruz, and a host of assistants and security. The requisite evil has many faces.

TEXAS BODYGUARD : WESTON is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, second chances and love. The character driven premise is entertaining and dramatic; the romance is passionate but subtle; the character are desperate and determined.

The relationship between Fiona and Tiernan is one of mutual attraction but Fiona is considered ‘other’ and not an acceptable mate for the throne but Fiona’s otherness is something no one expected, and her otherness is about to force Fiona to the outside, away from the man with whom she had fallen in love. Tiernan only has eyes for our story line heroine but Tiernan knows his time with Fiona is coming to an end. When Fiona volunteers to go undercover, Tiernan sees red, and struggles to find a way for protect the woman with whom he had fallen in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic with some scenes of bondage and whipping.

There is a large ensemble cast of magical and supernatural secondary and supporting characters including Tiernan’s brothers Caiden (Bryn), and Finnian, as well as vampire Dmitri; Fiona’s mother Erin Jewel, and several members of the royal court and advisors. Finnian’s story line is next.
