••••••

REVIEW:The Client by Stella Gray is an intense, romantic drama filled with angst, spicy moments and just the right amount of emotional trauma to make the story kick into high gear. I went into this author completely new, I have never consumed anything produced by her, and I can honestly say I will be coming back for more.

In the Client we are introduced to Rhys and Izabela (Izzy). The story kicks off fast with the drama. Izzy, due to a series of unfortunate events, is sold off to the father of her skeezy ex-boyfriend. Now, Izzy is a popular new model at KZM, she is new to the game and gets herself into a bit of drama because of it. Enter Rhys.

Rhys hires Izzy thinking she is a….female friend if you will, not knowing about the situation she is in, and what an adventure that becomes. During their time together Rhys thinks she is a companion, he starts to catch major feelings for her, then when the truth comes out about who she really is..Well let’s just say Rhys is anything but pleased about it. He is determined to help Izzy out of the mess she had gotten herself into, but what will that mean for them?

Well this was definitely an interesting read. Rhys is an OTTA and those are always so much fun to read. I don’t know how much I liked Izzy’s character, she came off as a little…flat for me, but the pair’s interactions with each other is what makes this story worth the read!

Make Me Yours, Cowboy by Dylann Crush – Review & Giveaway

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Bookbub

Description:
Knox Shepler is a country superstar in his prime, but each release takes him further away from the classic country of his roots. His agent suggests a compromise: if Knox writes another pop-crossover album, he can cut a single playing the music he’s passionate about. Paparazzi make inspiration hard to find on the road, so Knox heads to Paradise Island, posing as a contractor to hide his true identity.

Claudia Alvarez went viral several years ago for all the wrong reasons. Since then, she’s been keeping a low profile by working at A Cowboy in Paradise. The bar’s finances aren’t what they used to be, so in order to save the only place she feels safe, Claudia proposes renovating the bungalows on the property to generate extra income.

When Knox and Claudia are forced to work together, he finds inspiration and she discovers it might be time to open her heart. But as the truth surfaces, Claudia must decide if she can face her fears for a chance at the love of a lifetime.

Review:

Make Me Yours, Cowboy by Dylann Crush is the 2nd book in her Cowboys in Paradise series. We meet Knox Sheplar, our hero, who is a country music star, and is under pressure from his manager and label who want him to finish his album, using the studio’s themes.  Knox decides to go back to his roots, and travels to Paradise Island to find his muse; especially, to write songs he enjoys to sing and hopefully salvage his career. With help from a friend, Knox will meet the owner of A Cowboy in Paradise, and he goes undercover doing renovations on the bungalows (he loved working with his hands as a teenager), and uses the name Nolan.

Claudia Alverez, manages the bar at A Cowboy in Paradise, she works closely with her boss, and when Nolan shows up, Claudia is irritated, since it was her idea to fix up the bungalows.  Claudia has been in Paradise for 4 years, having run away from her previous life, with a break up with an ex-boyfriend, and a career that fell apart.

Nolan (Knox) and Claudia agree to work together in renovating the bungalows. Knox and Claudia are instantly attracted to each other, but she fights off getting involved, and he is determined to win her over. In a short time, the chemistry between them is amazing, and they both fall hard for each other.  Knox learns about what happened with her ex, who was famous, and Claudia did not want to be in the spotlight, which also caused her to lose her career; Knox fears if she knows he is a country music star, he will lose her.   He knows he has to tell her who he really is, but must find the time to reveal his secret; especially since Claudia has become his inspiration and muse to write songs.

Make Me Yours, Cowboy was a fun story that kept me glued to my kindle.  I loved Knox and Claudia together, as they were so great together.  This is a heartwarming passionate love story, with so much emotion, pulling on your heart.  What happens when Claudia discovers the truth about Knox? Will she face her fears and open her heart?

Make Me Yours, Cowboy was so very well written by Dylann Crush. This had a bit of everything to enjoy; small town, cowboy romance, country music, and love. I wholly suggest you read this book, as it was a very enjoyable read.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 11, 2023

A crooked cop. Corruption. A woman convicted of murder. A man determined to prove her innocence.

When Helena Grayse is released from prison, all she wants is to say a final goodbye to her old life. But when a man finds her trespassing on his property, instead of turning her in, he takes her in. Accepts her. Loves her.

But someone decides to serve Helena with a death sentence.

••••••

REVIEW:SHATTERED DREAMS is the third instalment in Abbie Roads’ contemporary, adult FATAL DREAMS paranormal, romantic suspense series. This is police department consultant Thomas Brown, and former inmate Helena Grayse’s story line. SHATTERED DREAMS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story. SHATTERED DREAMS is the re-release of the author’s NEVER LET ME FALL (Fatal Dreams Series).

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may not be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several third person perspectives including Thomas and Helena SHATTERED DREAMS follows the building relationship between police department consultant Thomas Brown, and former inmate Helena Grayse. Ten years earlier Helena was sentenced to prison for a crime she did not commit but Helena found herself the target of a prison gang, a gang determined to end her life. Upon release from prison, a battered and battle -scarred Helena headed back to the family home, a home now owned by consultant Thomas Brown. When the attacks against Helena’s life continue on the outside, Thomas is determined to protect the woman that literally calls to his heart, a woman with whom he is psychically tethered. What ensues is the building but struggling relationship between Thomas and Helena, and the potential fall-out as Thomas’s past is determined to own him body and soul, a malevolent past that is closely connected to the woman he loves.

Thomas Brown has a special ability of which only a few are aware. With his ability to ‘read’ and ‘see’ the shadow of death, Thomas is surprised when Helena’s aura is a beacon of colour and light, colour he hasn’t seen in too many years. Helena has survived the prison abuse but was unaware of the how and why. Keeping to herself, remaining quiet in the face of danger and death, Helena continues to be targeted for sins of the past.

The relationship between Thomas and Helena is one of immediate attraction. Thomas knows immediately, with one touch, that Helena is his soulmate -her nearness allows Thomas to see colours and light; his touch heals that which would have killed a lesser human. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

SHATTERED DREAMS is a story of heartbreak and pain; family and loss; betrayal and vengeance. The premise is dark, gritty and raw; the romance is fated; the characters are broken, damaged and lost.

Broken Dreams is the second book in Abbie Roads’ Beautiful Nightmare Series of dark romantic thrillers. It features a virgin hero who never thought he’d find love. If you devour true crime and romance novels then you’ll love a series that combines both in a roller-coaster ride of danger, mind games, and swoon worthy love.

REVIEW:  BROKEN DREAMS is the second instalment in Abbie Roads’s contemporary, adult BEAUTIFUL NIGHTMARE paranormal, romance series. This is FBI consultant Lathan Montgomery, and waitress Evanee Brown’s story line. BROKEN DREAMS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. BROKEN DREAMS is the re-release of the author’s  HUNT THE DAWN (Fatal Dreams 2).

NOTE: BROKEN DREAMS contains graphic and implied scenarios of violence, torture, sexual and emotional abuse.

Told from several third person points of view including Lathan and Evanee BROKEN DREAMS focuses on the hunt for a serial killer. Lathan is a special investigations consultant with the FBI and his latest assignment is the search for a serial killer whose number of victims is increasing at an alarming rate. Enter Evanee Brown, a young woman whose nightmares become tangible in the presence of our story line hero. What ensues is the building relationship between two people caught in the supernatural world of psychic abilities, and a psychopathic murderer.

Lathan Montgomery suffers with debilitating scent memories -odors and smells trigger memories of the people around him. Along with the olfactory abnormality touch brings about another form of memory recall. Evanee’s abusive past is darkened by a familial connection that wants to rekindle the dark relationship. With her connection to Lathan Montgomery Evanee’s nightmares become real as our heroine connects with the serial killer’s victims. Lathan and Evanee together will protect one another from the approaching demons and a psychotic killer.

We are introduced to Lathan’s friend and FBI partner Gill Garrison whose relationship with Lathan struggles as our hero finds solace in Evanee Brown. Lathan’s parents battle with their son’s idiosyncrasies; and Evanee’s past is out to destroy any semblance of love for our story line heroine. Xander Stone and Ileen Walker (Race the Darkness #1) play secondary characters. The requisite evil has many faces and names.

BROKEN DREAMS is a dark and gritty story line; an emotional and moving story about two people on the periphery of ‘normal’ society whose abilities single them out from the ‘maddening’ crowd. The premise is intense and inventive; the characters are passionate and dynamic; the romance is intimate and fated. BROKEN DREAMS is a suspenseful and enthralling look into the mind of the supernatural, and a serial killer.

Abbie Roads loves Snickers Parfaits and acrylic pour painting. It’s her new obsession. The pour painting. Not the parfaits. Though the parfaits would qualify as an obsession too. She spends her days a mental health counselor always looking on the brightside, but at night she likes to write dark and dangerous things—with kissing and sexy times. She loves reading inspirational quotes and stories about serial killers. She is married to her favorite fellow and they have two cranky old rescue dogs that are not spoiled. Not at all. Okay. Maybe a little. Alright, the dogs are terribly spoiled, but they do give lots of cuddles and kisses in return.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 14, 2023

If money talks, it’s telling me to steer clear of Cassidy Brooks.
Too bad my heart’s got the sense of a jellyfish.
The rest of me knows I’m reckless craving a woman wrapped up with wealthy outsiders.
Rich pricks like Cassidy’s boss, slapping glitzy mansions on the old gravel pit they’ve dubbed “Luxury, lakefront Oregon Coast land.”
Land that’s been in my family for decades, but not now. Not anymore.
Blame my shady uncle and a cast of cash-flush, toxic ass-crabs for that.
I want to blame Cassidy, but really? I just want her .
Cassidy and her smart mouth and sunshine eyes and rich lady shoes that make her legs look––
No. Not going there. It’s all I can do to keep my fishing fleet afloat while watching over a boatload of wild brothers and one bossy sister.
And Cassidy’s got her own troubles. A sick sister and a mom with chronic bad taste in men.
We should keep our distance, right?
But this town’s so small we’re crossing paths over sexy trivia night, hermit crab hijinks, and a wardrobe malfunction that lands me up close and clumsily personal with Cassidy’s mom.
I just want my town back. My family’s land.
Land Cassidy’s crew has their eye on.
There’s no way this ends well.
So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?

REVIEW: TRY ME is the first instalment in Tawna Fenske’s contemporary, adult CHERRY BLOSSOM LAKE erotic, romance series focusing on the Spencer-King siblings. This is bait shop owner/crabber Jake Spencer-King, and PA Cassidy Brooks’ story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jake and Cassidy) TRY ME follows the building romance and relationship between bait shop owner/crabber Jake Spencer-King, and PA Cassidy Brooks. Cassidy is the professional assistant and planner to the uber rich Judson family, and as such is issued perks that are often misinterpreted by others. The day before a large party, Cassidy’s mother and sister are no where to be found, and Cassidy finds herself in need of help. Enter Jake Spencer-King, who upon delivering a generator is mistaken for the hired help. Offering to help, Jake has no idea as to the secrets of Cassidy’s life, a life that is somewhat similar to his own. The sins of the parents and the past have forced each child upon a different path in life, and it is these paths that will push our story line couple together. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Cassidy and Jake, and the potential fall-out when a history of betrayal and lies, resurfaces pulling Cassidy into the middle of the fray.

The world building introduces the Spencer-King siblings, and some of the back story and secrets about a town once controlled by the Spencer-Kings. All is not well; the family dynamic between generations has been fractured, and the Spencer-King siblings are paying the price for someone else’s greed and powers.

We are introduced the colorful and determined Spencer-King siblings: Kaleb, Lucy, her twin Mason, and Parker, and their father; their uncle Owen Spencer; Cassidy’s sister Zoe, and their mother Ruby Brooks, as well as Cassidy’s employers Shirleen and Laurence Judson.

The relationship between Cassidy and Jake begins acrimoniously. Jake is quick to misjudge Cassidy, believing she is part of the local aristocracy aka rich; and Cassidy believes Jake is part of the hired help, amusement to entertain the local snobs. As Jake and Cassidy begin circling one another, someone else is threatening the plans of the Spencer-King siblings. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

TRY ME is a story of family and relationships, secrets and lies, greed and power, misunderstanding, forgiveness and love. The premise is heartwarming and animated ; the romance is spicy and passionate-the sexual tension is palpable; the characters are dynamic and inspiring.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 25, 2023

When someone close to Lilah is murdered in what is clearly an assassination, Lilah finds herself looking to Ghost, one of the deadliest assassins in the world. But is Ghost a friend or an enemy? Lilah’s about to find out. But Ghost isn’t the only one close to Lilah who may well be an enemy. Apparently, the line between friendship and murder, is bloody thin.

••••

REVIEW: THE GHOST ASSASSIN is the ninth instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’s contemporary, adult LILAH LOVE romantic, suspense series focusing on on foul-mouthed, aggressive, contentious and prickly FBI agent Lilah Love-Mendez, and her husband, businessman /Cartel heir Kane Mendez. THE GHOST ASSASSIN should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book eight THE PARTY IS OVER. If you have not read the previous instalments, there may be spoilers in my review.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from first person perspective (Lilah), and several chapters from Kane Mendez, THE GHOST ASSASSIN picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book eight in which someone working closely with our story line heroine is dead, an assassin’s bullet meant to send a message to Lilah Love. Throughout the series, Lilah has been looking into an organization known as The Society, a powerful group that controls many of the politicians, law enforcement personnel, and the rich and famous, and it is this group that may or may not be targeting the people at the top. As Lilah and her intrepid group of specialists begin to slowly unravel the clues, Lilah finds herself facing down the person who may be responsible for killing them all.

Meanwhile, Lilah’s husband, and Mexican cartel heir Kane Mendez, finds himself at a crossroads. As the heir apparent, Kane must come to terms with his future going forward but similar to Lilah’s investigation, the people surrounding Kane are dying at the hands of someone in charge.

The world building continues to focus on Lilah Love’s frenzied determination to take down the bad guys but the bad guys are often someone Lilah knows. As Lilah’s investigation takes on a personality of its’ own, Lilah’s home life is sitting on the precipice of a hole from which neither she nor Kane will be able to recover.

Once again, there is a large ensemble of secondary and supporting characters including Lilah’s bodyguard Jay, Kane’s bodyguard Kit; NYPD Chief Houston, interim FBI Director David Ellis ; Lilah’s brother Andrew; hacker Lucas Davenport; forensics tech Jack Cox, medical examiner Danica Day; and Lilah’s IT guru Jeff ‘TicTac’ Landers, most of whom are the hunter/gatherers of Lilah’s investigations. We are introduced to a new team of FBI agents, an assassin who goes by Ghost; and the return of someone long thought buried and gone.

THE GHOST ASSASSIN is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, murder and assassinations, struggles, acceptance, friendships and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing, thought provoking and fascinating, and covers but a couple of days in the life of Lilah Love and her husband Kane Mendez; the characters are determined and dynamic. THE GHOST ASSASSIN ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 13, 2023

** This book was written by mother who passed away from cancer in February. I found this on her computer and knew she had been talking about publishing it, but she didn’t make it to see that happen. It wasn’t done and I was giddy to add some Forgy flare to it. Now it’s ready for the world. This is for you mom.

From the author of best selling Devil’s Dust MC, M.N. Forgy and her mother give a whole new rush and spark in the bedroom.

____

I came to the Rush Riders Motorcycle Club to help a friend out, get them out of trouble, and before I knew it, I became a member. Fast women, drugs, whiskey, and fights were all things I expected and was ready for. A young woman walking into the club selling drugs wasn’t. C was everywhere I didn’t want her to be. Her naïve personality was resilient to my asshole attempts to run her off. The next thing I knew, I wanted more than to take her to my bed. We were like a match to gasoline, the combustion so powerful not even I could walk away. I wanted to dominate her, to make her mine, which would have been an amazing plan if our worlds hadn’t collided, leaving me with having to choose between my club and her.

Can the rules of the Rush Riders MC bend to my will, or will the brotherhood mean nothing?

If they want a war, I’ll give it to them.

•••••••

REVIEW:BLUNTED is the first instalment in the contemporary, adult RUSH RIDERS dark, erotic, MC series co-authored by MN Forgy and TL Sims. This is eighteen year old, florist C.Fields, and twenty-seven year old, Ruch Riders MC member and investor Lincoln Thor’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (C. and Linc) BLUNTED follow in the wake of C finding a new place to live, a condo on the outskirts of town, a condo whose only other owner wants C out so he can own it all. Linc is p*ssed that the owners have sold to someone else, and with his mood at an all-time low, Linc begins to target our story line heroine only to discover there is much more to C than he could have ever imagined. With C’s life literally in his hands, Linc begins to suspect our heroine is keeping secrets, secrets that are about to place her in the direct line of fire. What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between C and Linc, and the potential fall-out as C’s side business threatens everyone involved.

The relationship between C and Linc is acrimonious at best. Linc wants to buy and renovate the entire condo complex but with a new tenant Linc’s personal life is about to implode. Having followed our story line heroine, Linc will discover that C’s side business places her in the darker regions of town, and her life is threatened on more than one occasion. Wanting to protect C, Linc begins to demand her obedience but Linc continues to struggle with C’s secrets and lies, often treating our heroine in a questionable manner. The $ex scenes are provocative and erotic, and not without some issues of consent and power.

The world building begins to focus on the fight for power and control in a town governed by dealers and drugs, and the Rush Riders MC. Linc is still considered a prospect but his power is much more than someone new to the club. As a businessman, Linc has the ability to make things happen but something is happening in which he no longer has control. Gruff and acerbic, Linc’s attitude is often less than desirable, where as C is often TSTL (too stupid to live).

We are introduced to C’s friends Ben, Parker and Jenna, as well as Linc’s fellow MC members Flynn and VP Billy. The requisite evil has many faces.

BLUNTED is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance. The fast paced premise is captivating and intriguing but often switched between telling and showing; the romance struggles in the face of secrets and an imbalance of power; the characters are desperate and determined. BLUNTED ends one a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Three years after her freshman year from hell, Sara graduates college a stronger and more well-balanced woman. Her relationship with Scott is strong, their future together bright. If only her parents could be there to join in the celebration.

Just when she thinks the craziness of the past is finally over—and for good—a mysterious stranger shows up at her graduation that turns Sara’s world upside down. This man may just be the answer to her prayers or another devastating blow to her already traumatic life.

REVIEW:Handfast is book three in the Sara Browne series. This book has Sara and Scott graduating from college and planning for an amazing summer of family, travelling, and adventure – before beginning their lives and careers with each other.

Sara Browne has not had an easy time in life. Her parents were killed in a car accident when she was twelve. With no family coming forward to claim her at that time, she knew nothing of the estranged relationships of her father and his family. Her college career began shakily at best, but it was there that she met Scott at a tailgate party. While their love and friendship began to blossom, Sara endured a sexual assault and kidnapping. And while Scott stayed by her side, their relationship and trust would be tested dramatically over time.

Sara spent years recovering from the trauma and abuse she endured, and slowly began to build the life with Scott that she wanted and dreamed of.
On their third year anniversary Scott proposed and they became engaged. Sara was healing and looking forward to a summer with Scott of spending time with family, travelling to Europe and then settling down in their life and careers.

On graduation day surrounded by her pseudo family and friends Sara sees what she believes to be the ghost of her dead father. Turns out to be her long lost Uncle Aiden, her father’s brother. And while she briefly remembers glimpses of memories of her father where his brother is concerned. She has no idea what he would be doing in her life now.

When Sara finds out that upon graduation from college she receives an inheritance of land in Ireland, her fathers homeland, she begins to believe it’s just a coincidence that her Uncle had chosen this time to show up in her life.

When her and Scott decide to add a trip to Ireland to their summer itineraries her Uncle is more than happy to have them stay with him while they are there.
But what exactly does her newly found Uncle want. And what secrets will Ireland hold?

I absolutely love how each book in this series continues to build and strengthen the relationship of Sara and Scott.

They withstand some traumatic events in their relationship and you want nothing but the best for the two of them. This book shows how

Copyright 2023 Tricia T. LaRochelleWhile Derek handed Amy his last beer and tried to convince her to stay, my eyes took a tour of the small crowd, which mainly consisted of men. Wearing pastel-print Oxford shirts (sleeves rolled up to the elbows), khaki shorts, and loafers with no socks, a few of them looked like they just stepped out of an ad. As they threw beanbags into the cornhole board, drank, and carried on animated conversations with fist bumps and head bobs from the loud hip-hop music playing, they exemplified what I’d envisioned a typical fraternity would look like. One large guy with tree trunks for arms smashed a beer can into his forehead and guzzled the foamy fluid that spewed out. Another guy put his fingers to his mouth, kissed them, and yelled, “The taste when it hits your lips.”
Amy and Derek looked at each other.
“Old School,” they said in unison before they smiled, which made no sense to me.
A few girls were there, laughing with each other, hanging onto guys near them, or drinking. Everyone had a cell phone, which most of the women used to take selfies.
I needed to get myself acquainted with my cell phone and especially social media. I was basic when it came to technology. Then again, I was basic when it came to most things. Very lame—unlike the girl who had just come to the party wearing a floral romper, wedge sandals, and large hoop earrings. Everything about her was stunning, from her long, shiny brown hair to her sleek body.
She approached a guy who had his back to me, placing her hand on his arm. He must’ve been six-three. His light-blue T-shirt hugged his muscular back and powerful arms, outlining a body that caught my attention and kept it. I liked his hair and the way his caramel curls danced in the late-day breeze. What did his face look like? As if he heard my question, he turned around and stared right at me.
I’d fallen off my bike once when I was a kid and knocked the wind out of myself. For a few agonizing seconds, I literally couldn’t breathe. As I struggled to breathe now, my lungs reminded me of that moment.
While Amy continued to rib Derek, I caught sight of hot guy’s strong jaw and perfectly proportioned face. The sun reflected off his baby blue eyes that were nothing short of stunning. The corners of his soft, plump lips curved upward into an enticing smile. Enough already. Before I started drooling, I tore my eyes away.
I’d thought about guys—obsessively—but I’d never dreamt up one who looked like him. The boarding school I went to was for girls, but if it had allowed guys, I imagined he and his romper girlfriend would have been king and queen of every prom. Picture perfect. And totally not for me. I was looking for chill, sweet, and cuddly. I didn’t need a runway model or a guy who could audition for the next Marvel movie. No need to get crazy.

Description:
Joan Sample is not living the life she expected. Now a widow and an empty-nester, she has become by her own admission something of a recluse. But after another birthday spent alone, she is finally inclined to listen to her sister, who has been begging Joan to reengage with the world. With her support, Joan gathers the courage to take some long-awaited steps: hiring someone to tame her overgrown garden, joining a grief support group, and even renting out a room to a local college student. Before long Joan is starting to feel a little like herself again.

Across town, Maggie Herbert works mornings as a barista, tending to impatient customers before rushing to afternoon nursing classes. She’s been living with her alcoholic father, ducking his temperamental outbursts and struggling to pay the household bills. But her circumstances brighten when she finds a room for rent in Joan’s home. In the unexpected warmth of her new situation, Maggie finds a glimmer of hope for a better life. But will Maggie’s budding attraction to one of her favorite customers ruin the harmony she’s only recently found with Joan? Meanwhile, what is Joan to make of the mysterious landscaper who’s been revitalizing her garden–a man who seems to harbor a past loss of his own?

As Maggie and Joan confront unfamiliar life choices, they find themselves leaning on each other in surprising ways–discovering in the process that “family” is often just another word for love in all its forms.

Review:

Must Love Flowers by Debbie Macomber is a wonderful standalone novel. We meet Joan Sample, who has been widowed for 4 years, and has been a recluse, with her sister and two sons trying to pressure her out of her rut.  Joan realizes she is lonely, and decides to listen to some of the suggestions made by her family, such as counseling, taking in a boarder, and when she receives a letter from her HOA that her yard is a disaster, this pushes her to start living again.

Joan hires a landscaper to fix the yard and bring it back to life.  She meets Phil, who is very helpful and friendly.   Joan goes to a therapist, who encourages her to join a weekly grief support group, and to her surprise, she sees Phil also attends.  Joan also meets Maggie, a college student majoring in nursing.

Maggie Herbert, works long hours as a barista, as well as going school for her nursing classes.  She has been living with her father, who is an alcoholic, and giving her a hard time.  Maggie is trying to find a place to rent, and is thrilled when Joan offers her a room to stay, and they both connect quickly.  Maggie and Joan help support each other, with a strong bond developing between them.

Joan’s two sons are always busy, with one son living locally, and the other in another state.  Maggie accidently meets Joan’s son at her job, and when he discovers she is the new boarder, he becomes belligerent, thinking she is using his mother; but Joan will clear the air, and slowly Maggie and Nick will become attracted to each other.  Joan enjoys meeting those in the support group, making new friends, as well as a slow burn friendship that grows between her and Phil.

What follows is a heartwarming story, with Joan and Maggie always there to help one another, especially when Maggie, Joan, Phil, and even Nick help fix up Maggie’s father’s place; and slowly her father stops drinking and things change for the better.  I loved Joan and Maggie’s close friendship, almost like a mother and daughter.

Must Love Flowers was so very well written by Debbie Macomber. The story covered many life changing issues, such as grief, support, parents, therapy, friendship and children.  I suggest you read this book, as I could not put the book down.
