The relationship between Sam and Nicole is one of immediate attraction but Nicole’s sister’s previous problems weigh heavily on our story line heroine. Sam isn’t looking for anything permanent, and Nicole is hoping to move on from the past. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and sassy secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line introductions and couple. We are re-introduced to Sam’s extended family, as well as Nicole’s parents, and her ex Tyler.

PERFECT TOGETHER is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, forgiveness and understanding, acceptance and love .The fast paced premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are determined, dynamic and charismatic.

REVIEW:I’m not really a sports fan, but I’ve recently read a few hockey books and really enjoyed them. So when I found out one of my favourite authors had a new book out (with a hockey theme) I grabbed it….

It’s a why choose story and West has her hands full with a multitude of partners.

But it’s not plain sailing, not at all!!

Nash/Porter/Huxley/Ziggy/West are the characters in this story. And I have to say I throughly enjoyed it.

Nash “the beast” Daniels has a temper, he’s a great hockey player (but personally I think) but has a chip on his shoulder! He’s being asked to let a princess (his words) use his rink!! I have a feeling he’s going to a pain in her a$$!!

Porter Hanson (Omega) plays for the Phoenix Heat team, pretty laid back and easy going. All that changes when he meets West, he’s literally blown away by her, and wants to get to know her better, but can he get along with Nash?

Huxley Mccarren (Alpha) is a powerhouse of a hockey player. Nothing gets past him on the ice. But coming face to face with another Omega (he’s in a relationship with Porter) has him fiercely possessive and protective.

Ziggy, (Beta) well Ziggy Marshall is a professor and smitten with West, he’s hoping he can become more than a friend to West. He’s got his work cut out getting past Porter and Huxley (he’s friends with Nash) But he thinks West is worth the effort.

West is the FMC and is a total firecracker, she is a no nonsense character. Her heart is kind and her comebacks are sharp. She doesn’t know how to process her feelings as she falls for each MMC and she’s not sure how this pack will form, she just knows she needs them all in her life!

So we’ve met the characters, let’s discuss the plot….

It’s two hockey teams, and they don’t really get along, so how will these come together? Well it’s all down to West?

It’s doesn’t go smoothly at all at first, there is a lot of hostility and mistrust. There is banter, there is instalust and instalove ? but there is also plenty of relationship building within the pack. MM MFM MF and plenty of bi-awakening and group loving ? we also have two omegas, but it does revolve around West.

There is a little angst, but not a lot. It’s mainly West trying to build her life after being told by her father she needs to visit him! Then becoming involved with hockey players from opposing teams! It’s a pretty fast paced book, and it does end with a HEA for all involved.

And you know when something is bugging you? A character you think you’ve heard about before, but can’t quiet place them? That is until it clicks and you’re squealing like a hockey fan ? yup, that was me…. And the character (Huxley) made an appearance in (“Not Yours” Omegaverse Series book) and what’s more we get to catch up with a few old characters from that book, which I absolutely loved (I read and loved that series)

So I’m highly recommending this book to omegaverse and hockey-loving readers.

Review:

The Wake Up Call by Beth O’Leary is a sweet enemies to lovers stand-alone romantic novel.  It is Christmas season, at Forest Manor Hotel, with worry that the hotel is struggling.  Izzy Jenkins and Lucas Da Silva share the responsibilities at the front desk, with both having major difference between them.   Izzy is very outgoing, friendly, optimistic and always helping people; while Lucas is serious, stubborn and brooding, not to mention he dislikes all of Izzy’s ideas. Izzy loves everyone, but hates Lucas.  Seems last Christmas, she sent Lucas a card confessing her true feelings for him suggesting that they meet under the mistletoe, and sees him kissing someone else, which will turn out to be a major miscommunication, and why she hates him.

With the hotel possibly closing after the new year, everyone is trying to find ways to pay off the debts and keep Forest Manor Hotel open; management wants Izzy and Lucas to work together to help find ways to increase finances. Izzy discovers in the hotel ‘lost and found’ many wedding rings left behind over the years, and she decides try and attempt to find the real owners; Lucas did not like the idea, thought just to sell them, but in a short period, he begins to work alongside of Izzy, with a bet who will return the most. 

They begin to work closely together, and in a short period the chemistry between them escalates; though Izzy is determined to not get hurt, and Lucas knows he has fallen in love with her. This was a true enemy to lover’s story line, with the first half filled with rivalry and dislike; but everything begins to change in the second half, with lots of witty banter.  Lucas is determined to prove to Izzy about his true feelings, being caring, patient and sweetness when together.  I loved the last half, as the chemistry between them was sizzling, and I hoped they would stay together.  I also loved all the secondary characters in this story, with Mrs. SB (owner of hotel), Mandy, Arjun, Ollie, Barty, Mr. Townsend; wasn’t crazy about Louis.  

The Wake Up Call was a fun, sweet story, enemy to lover’s, great secondary characters, and so much fun with the amazing stories on those who came to reclaim their rings; though I did feel early on was a bit slow.  The Wake Up Call was so very well written by Beth O’Leary.

REVIEW->There are trigger warnings throughout this book, so I’d read the warnings before grabbing the book.

There is also taboo subjects (but I personally didn’t see them!)

I do love an anthology, it gives you a chance to read new authors. I grabbed it as it has my favourite author in it (Crea Reitan) her book “I have sinned” was definitely my favourite in the anthology.

Some were a good size novella, one was a little short, but it got its message across.

It’s definitely made me want to look at the rest of the authors to see their writing.

For I have Sinned Crea Reitan

It’s about a priest falling in love, he’s fighting his feelings and the church. They aren’t big on homosexual relationships.

Both Zaiden and Ellsworth were likeable and I found myself hoping they would be together. But it’s not an easy journey. And there is a few heartbreaking moments!

It’s almost an instalove (but it’s a novella, so it’s going to be quick ?)

When Opposites Collide by Kady Monroe

This novella is based in a college, and the MC, hasn’t come out yet (in fact he has a girlfriend!)

I liked this one as well, although again a short story it did feel a little rushed! But once the MC decided he was going to love who he wanted to, there was no stopping him ? I’d love to see a series with the rest of the friends who supported both the main characters as they all seemed like a pretty great butch of characters.

My Strength, my Weakness by Kelly Lord

I’d say this is my second favourite in the anthology.

Griffin and Kendall have an office romance with a side of kink ?

I loved Ken, so full of life and colour, and Griffin definitely needs that in his life.

What starts out as flirting soon turns into more…. But Griffin has a life already mapped out! Can he give the love of his life up?

Dangerous Elysium by S. K. Graves

A dark college romance. Stalking and obsessive thoughts and actions!

The twist comes where is not the jock who is the stalker ?

This was the shortest story in the book, and just as I’m getting into it, it finishes!! I’d definitely buy it if it ever became a full novel.

Caspian and Beaufort were were great characters, and I’d love best friend to Caspian to get a book.

Unbreakable by Lizzie James

Tyler and Damon are together, they just haven’t told their families.

Firemen and policemen ? I love a story with uniforms, I also like established couples. And this one had both.

It basically told a story about how a couple went about telling family and work they were together. Simple idea, but a whole barrel of emotions.

Without giving too much away Griffin and Maxim come together after a hacker steals money from a company!

I’d definitely says it’s more of a sweet romance feel to this office romance.

There is a little revenge and a twist. Great characters and a storyline that flows really well. Although it did seem a little rushed (like the author forgot it was a novella! ??‍♀️)

Told from dual first person perspectives (Malichai and Dana) A SECOND CHANCE follows the quick building relationship between tattoo artist Malichai Chance, and professional tattoo model Dana Meyer. Dana Meyer is more or less in hiding. Having left her home in the wake of a betrayal, Dana found herself in the small town of Severn, at the local tattoo parlor called House of Ink. Wanting a new tattoo to commemorate a new start, Dana schedules an appointment with Malichai Chance, finds herself a part time job, and a place to live but Dana’s past refuses to let go, forcing the Chance brothers to take control. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Malichai and Dana, and the potential fall-out as Dana is target by the demons from her past.

The relationship between Malichai and Dana is one of immediate attraction.: insta lust to love. Dana wants a tattoo, and Malichai is willing to give Dana whatever she wants. Quickly enmeshed into the Chance family, Dana finds herself falling in love with Malichai, and the people she will quickly call her own. The $ex scenes are limited but intense.

We are re-introduced to Malichai’s brothers: Alistair and his wife Mercedes, Lucian and Damian, as well as Xander and Laura, as well as Dana’s ex Derick.

A SECOND CHANCE is a story of power and control, betrayal and obsession, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is spirited and edgy;  the characters are sassy, animated and determined; the romance is seductive and provocative.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Laura and Xander) TAKING A CHANCE follows the best friend’s younger sister relationship between twenty year old Laura, and Xander Chance. Three years earlier Xander’s best friend, and Laura’s brother Luke died, and in the ensuing time Xander kept a promise to protect the woman with whom he would fall in love, the woman he has wanted for a very long time. On Valentine’s day Xander is pushed over the edge when he sees Laura in the arms of someone else, a push that pulls Laura into the life of our story line hero.

The relationship between Laura and Xander is a best friend’s young sister, a forbidden romance predicated upon Luke’s directive to Xander to look after his younger sister, a directive Xander takes to heart. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

TAKING A CHANCE is a very quick read; a fast paced erotic story of unrequited love and lust. The premise fast and furious- there is limited world building; the characters are desperate and determined.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Dart and Tenn) HAT TRICK follows in the wake of a one-night stand between our leading couple. Twelve hours but no proclamation of more, Dart and Tenn went their separate ways but it was Dart who struggled in the aftermath when Tennessee Dent ghosted our story line hero. Tennessee has always struggled with her weight and her size, and she was quick to discover that the people in her life will use her weight to destroy her heart.

The relationship between Tenn and Dart begins as a one night stand, a twelve hour affair from which Dart struggles to move on, and Tenn appears to leave in the past. For months Dart struggles to reconnect with the woman of his fantasies and dreams, but Tennessee has moved on with someone else. Working with the Carolina IceCats brings Tenn and Dart back together, a move that may threaten Tenn’s position going forward. The $ex scenes are erotic and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Caroline IceCats, as well as Tennessee Dent’s former friends, ex-boyfriend, her parents, and Dart’s mother, and his sister Sabine. As Dart battles for custody of his sister, his mother proves that not all women are capable of nurturing or love.

HAT TRICK is a story of second chances; of friendships and family, of relationships and love. The premise is entertaining, captivating and enjoyable; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are desperate, determined, sassy and fun.
