REVIEW:LETHAL LOVER is the seventh instalment in Kristen Luciani’s contemporary, adult VENGEFUL VILLAINS dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is twenty-four year old, Irish Mafia member Quinn Mulligan,and twenty-three year old, Russian Bratva assassin Valentina Malikov’s story line. LETHAL LOVER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading book one TWISTED TYRANT for a bit of backstory and cohesion where Valentina’s story begins.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Valentina and Quinn) using present day and memories from the past, LETHAL LOVER follows the hunt for a killer. Valentina Maliko lost everything the day a member of the Russian Bratva took aim at her family and the people she loved. In the ensuing times, Valentine would find herself training as an elite assassin, a job her family knows nothing about but her quest to take down the man she blames for destroying her life is about to get more complicated when she is forced into an arranged marriage, in an effort to infiltrate a human trafficking ring, where it all began. Enter Quinn Mulligan, the black sheep of the Mulligan family but a man who knows more about Valentina than she could have ever imagined. What ensues is the fake relationship/marriage of convenience between Quinn and Valentina, and the potential fall-out as Valentine is determined to end the man who shattered her life.

The world building continues to focus on the Russian Bratva, Irish Mob, Columbian and Mexican Cartels, as the ongoing war between ruling factions. For as long as she can remember Valentina has been a target in her father’s rise to the top but never expected to be betrayed by someone close. Reluctantly working with Quinn Mulligan, Valentina suspects they have been thrown into the lion’s den, never expecting to come home.

The relationship between Quinn and Valentina begins acrimoniously. Valentina wants nothing to do with our story line hero, and Quinn suspects it is only a matter of time before his numerous screw-ups, get him killed. Having made himself a target of the Cartel, Quinn Is biding his time, protecting the woman with whom he will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of powerful and dangerous secondary and supporting characters, many of whom we have met in the previous instalments. Not everyone will survive; betrayal comes at a cost; family and friendships becomes an issue of trust.

LETHAL LOVER is another story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, murder and assassination, acceptance, forgiveness and love. The premise is dark, gritty and dramatic; the romance is provocative and seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic.

The relationship between Sonya and Quinn begins when Quinn is forced or assigned to work as the new receptionist at Hott Spring Eternal Spa and Salon. Quinn’s arrival coincides with an expensive betrayal, and in the ensuing aftermath, Quinn finds himself using his scientific brain to help Sonya overcome the loss. Living together, a forced proximity relationship ensues but Sonya knows that Quinn’s time n Rush Creek is quickly coming to a close. REVIEW:HEART OF GLASS is the third instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary, adult SKYE DRUIDS paranormal/fantasy romance series-a spin off from the author’s REAPER series which in turn is a spin off from the author’s many interconnected series and stories. This is Druids Detective Inspector Theo Frasier, and Ferne Crawford’s story line. HEART OF GLASS should not be read as a stand alone- I recommend reading the series in order, as well as DARK ALPHA’S COMMAND (Reaper 15) for back story and cohesion as many of the events of the current time line are as of a direct result of the events in Dark Alpha’s Command. Several characters from the other series including Reaper Balladyn and Druid Rhona (Dark Alpha’s Command) and some of the original Dragon Kings (Nikolai) and Reaper characters appear as secondary and supporting characters.

SOME BACKGROUND: Months earlier, betrayal and vengeance forced a take-over of power on the Isle of Skye but someone or something is killing the Druids, not only on the Isle of Skye, but around the world including Edinburgh Scotland. With the focus on the death of the Druids on the Isle of Skye, Balladyn and Rhona (Dark Alpha’s Command/Reaper 15) begin an investigation that reveals a danger targeting the Druids and the MacLean family, in particular.

Told from third person perspective HEART OF GLASS continues to focus on the mist that is slowly killing the Druids on the Isle of Skye. Ferne Crawford is a London Druid but something or someone is calling Ferne to Skye. Years earlier, the Druids separated, and those in opposition left for London, vowing never to return to the Isle of Skye. Ferne’s need to leave is met with resistance from her brother Mason, and in its’ wake, Ferne learns she is on her own. Meeting Detective Inspector Theo Frasier pulls Ferne into a world she knew nothing about, a world of dragons and Reapers, and a mist that is calling our heroine for help. As Ferne and the Skye Druids work together to stop the person in charge, someone else is controlling the mist behind the scenes. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Ferne and Theo, and the potential fall-out as Ferne is caught between realms in an effort to help the people with whom she is falling in love.

The world building continues to focus on stopping the mist that is threatening and killing the Druids on the Isle of Skye. Someone is seeking vengeance against the Druids, someone is controlling the mist, and someone else is about to pay the price.

The relationship between Theo and Ferne is one of immediate attraction. Ferne’s arrival on Skye piques Theo’s interest, strengthens his magic, and pulls our couple towards their destiny. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters many of whom cross over from the author’s numerous interconnected series including Druids, Reapers and Dragons. After her parents and the London Druids told Ferne relentlessly never to set foot on the Isle of Skye, and that the Druids who called the isle home were not to be trusted, she ignored them all to follow an instinct she continued to question.
The closer she got to Skye, the more her stomach churned. She could turn back. She had yet to reach the isle. Sure, her brother knew where she was going, but Mason would accept if she returned before going farther. Yet she didn’t turn her car around. She kept driving.
The bridge that connected mainland Scotland to the Isle of Skye came into view. There was still time. All she had to do was pull over and turn around to head back to England and Mason. Generations of Druids knew never to come to Skye. It meant immediate banishment by family, though Mason would never do that to her. He supported her. Always. Still, she felt a gnawing uncertainty that made her want to retch.
“Last chance,” she whispered as she came upon the bridge.
Her foot lifted from the accelerator, but she kept driving. Her heart slammed erratically against her ribs when she reached the top of the structure, and then she was on the descent. Before she knew it, her tires rolled onto the Isle of Skye.

A newly single co-worker strikes a bargain. All he wants is someone to wreck his body while I get to let out my anger. It’s a win-win….

Except I’ve still lost.

Once, the only future I saw was with Simon, but I don’t see a future at all anymore.

Because all I have left is a broken heart and no one to pick up the pieces.

REVIEW: After reading book one (For your Time) I really didn’t like twins Damon and Declan. They weren’t very nice to Simon, made his life miserable, and in my opinion caused Simon to leave and not return messages or phone calls.

I didn’t like the dynamics between the three, I felt it was just wrong. But that’s just my opinion.

Damon is still in love with his best friend, he doesn’t ever see that changing. But he won’t get to see him if him and his twin don’t change their way of thinking!

Sage is a fitness and nutrition professional in the same gym Damon works in. He’s had a crush on Damon for a while now, but has never had the never to approach him!

It’s starts with Sage proposing a casual relationship (just s£x!) to Damon, and even though both know it’s going to end up in disaster (Damon knows he’s going to break Sage’s heart) they approach each other with caution…..

It took till about chapter 12, for me to forgive Damon and for said character to pull his head out from his a$$ and see what a wonderful man he had in Sage. Once he came to that conclusion (after almost losing him!) he couldn’t hold back his love, he wanted Sage to be his and his alone ?

Additional characters were all needed in this book, including the brainwashed ex girlfriend and Sage’s horrible mother! She was a vile individual and I was glad when Damon evicted her from Sage’s life. I loved catching up with Simon and ? Didn’t see Vulcan in this book (sadly) but we did find out who Declan falls for ?

I want to see Declan’s side of the story now (even though we get a glimpse at the end of this book ?) I want to read his side immediately ?

And I’m going to admit I was wrong, I’m going to eat humble lie and beg forgiveness from both the twins and the author. I was ready to hate the book, and all the characters in it (I’m still in love with book one)

I ended up loving this book (book one still my favourite)

There a lot of triggers in this book, including a taboo subject that a few readers might find hard (and I have a feeling it might evolve in book 3 ??‍♀️)

This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center – and utterly swoon-worthy! Don’t ask her how many book boyfriends she has…

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don’t even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). REVIEW:STOLEN HEARTS is the fifth instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult DARK HEARTS dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is thirty-three year old, Christopher ‘Castle’ James, and twenty-one year old, Calliope ‘Callie’ Drakos’ story line. STOLEN HEARTS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.

The relationship between Callie and Castle is tempestuous at best. Callie has been in love with Castle for as long as she can remember but Callie has been promised to someone else, and Castle refuses to cross an invisible line believing himself too old and unworthy. As Callie and Castle’s need for one another begins to spiral out of control, jealousy and a need to protect force Castle to claim our heroine in spite of the threats from everywhere else. Callie is a little bit immature, and Castle keeps his demons close to his heart. The $ex scenes are aggressive and intense with some scenes of spanking.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and powerful secondary and supporting characters including Callie’s siblings, and several members of the Irish Mafia. Castle is the second in command, and will quickly learn that all is not as it seems at the top.

STOLEN HEARTS is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, heart break and pain, family, friendships, relationships and love. The premise is dark, gritty, provocative and dramatic; the romance is challenging and daring; the characters are determined and desperate.
