ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 16, 2024

Vengeance is the only thing on my mind.
Because nobody comes after my family and lives to talk about it.
But now I have responsibilities I can’t ignore.
And while the arrival of a sweet young woman with a busted face is the answer to my prayers, she’s also on my mind in ways she shouldn’t be.
I’m too old for her, and a relationship wasn’t in my game plan.
Yet, as those who would hurt me close in, I realize there are no lengths I won’t go to to protect the love I’ve claimed.

REVIEW:THE SOULS WE CLAIM is the seventh instalment in Scarlett Coleā€™s contemporary adult IRON OUTLAWS MC erotic, MC romance series. This is thirty-three year old, Iron Outlaws MC road captain Jackson ā€˜Haloā€™ Flynn, and twenty-three year old Arianne ā€˜Ariā€™ Osborneā€™s story line. THE SOULS WE CLAIM can be read as a stand alone but for back story I recommend reading books five and six.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Halo and Ari) THE SOULS WE CLAIM follows after the arrival of our story line heroine. Arianne Osborne arrives battered and bruised, in the hopes of attending her older sisterā€™s funeral but with one look, Jackson ā€˜Haloā€™ Flynn is determined to claim Arianne Osborne as his own but Ari needs to recover, and Haloā€™s past refuses to let go. As Arianne continues to heal, Halo must come to a decision about the woman who has stolen his heart. What ensues is the building relationship between Ari and Halo, and the potential fallout as Ariā€™s past refuses to walk away, and Halo must face a past he knew nothing about.

The world building focuses on death and loss when the Iron Outlaws MC loose one of their own.Jackson ā€˜Haloā€™ Flynn is taking the losses personally, while Ari Osborne refuses to be a further burden to anyone else.

The relationship between Ari and Halo begins as mutual attraction but Ariā€™s ex Patrick refuses to let go, and in this, Halo is battling between head and heart while Patrick continues to plague our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and impassioned-there is a slight daddy / Dom kink .

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including club president Uther ā€˜Kingā€™ Hills, and therapist Rae Miller, Saint and Briar, Iris and Spark, as well as Nico, Switch; Ariā€™s parents, and her ex Patrick.

THE SOULS WE CLAIM is a story of betrayal, abuse and vengeance; secrets and lies; power and control, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The premise is dark, gritty and dramatic; the romance is fated and furious; the characters are energetic, determined and charismatic.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 14, 2024

Anika Jones has her future carefully plotted out and is checking the boxes, one by one, despite the bumps thrown in her path. This last one is a challenge, but she manages to stay on track; her salon is thriving, and she just bought a house. Unfortunately, when one of her employees runs into trouble, she inevitably gets sucked in, throwing her carefully paced life off-balance. It doesnā€™t help a friend, whoā€™s been ghosting her for a year, suddenly makes an appearance.

He was born to pig farming, but for Noah (Hog) Hodgekins fighting fires is his calling. He wasted too many years honoring a legacy he wants no part of. But now that heā€™s finally free from family obligations, thereā€™s nothing holding him back from pursuing the life heā€™s been dreaming of. The first step is mending bridges with the one person who is central to that future, but she comes with her own challenges, family and otherwise.

Instead of treading carefully to gain her heart, he ends up throwing caution to the wind when her recent string of bad luck lands the FBI on her doorstep.

REVIEW: CAPTIVATING ANIKA is the ninth instalment in Freya Barkerā€™s contemporary, adult ON CALL: Police and Fire: Operation Alpha multi-authored erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on side characters first introduced by author Susan Stoker. This is forty-nine year old farmer / fire fighter Noah ā€˜Hogā€™ Hodgekins, and thirty-nine year old, hair stylist/shop owner Anika Jonesā€™ story line. CAPTIVATING ANIKA can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: For fans of Freya Barker, there is a slight cross over with the authorā€™s ARROWā€™S EDGE MC series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Anika and Noah) CAPTIVATING ANIKA follows the building romance and relationship between Anika and Noah. Firefighter Noah ā€˜Hogā€™ Hodgekins has been pining after hair stylist Anika Jones for several years but an off-handed comment from Anika left Noah in the friend zone until an attack on Anikaā€™s co-worker brought Noah back into the fold. All was not well when Anikaā€™s co-worker goes missing, and our heroine finds herself the target of revenge by more than one potential suspect. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Anika and Noah, and the potential fall-out as betrayal comes from the unlikeliest source.

The world building is frantic and wild. Anika is often the victim of violence and vengeance, and in this, our heroine is suffering for the sins of someone else.

The relationship between Anika and Noah is one of mutual attraction but Noah previously misjudged Anikaā€™s feelings, and spent months to years wondering what went wrong. Anika is keeping a secret from family and friends but her secret will reveal woman struggling to get through, every day. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is another large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including many of whom we met in the previous story lines. We are introduced to Anikaā€™s employees and co-workers: Molly, Monique, Landon, and Kim. The requisite evil has many faces.

CAPTIVATING ANIKA is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, obsession madness, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing, captivating and twisted: the romance seductive; the characters are desperate, dynamic and determined.

So when her favorite author, Siobhan Riordan, offers her a job in the Emerald Isle, Emily jumps at the opportunity. After all, Siobhanā€™s novels got Em through some of the darkest days of her existence.

Helping Siobhan write the final book in her acclaimed seriesā€”after a ten-year hiatus due to a scorching case of writerā€™sĀ blockā€”is a dream come true for Emily. Review:

Love at First Book by Jenn McKinlay is a wonderful enemies to lovers standalone novel.Ā  Ā We meet Emily Allen at the start, when she arrives in Ireland. Emily is a librarian in Marthaā€™s Vineyard, who is obsessed with her favorite authorā€™s books.Ā  After writing a letter to the author, Siobhan Riordan, Emily was offered a job to be her assistant in helping her get out of her writerā€™s block, which has been 10 years since she last wrote another book in the Tig McMorrow series. Emily jumps at the chance to leave home, as she feels suffocated and dreams of going to Finnā€™s Hollow in Emerald Isle, and working with her hero, as well as helping in the bookstore.

Before she gets to meet Siobhan, she meets her boss at the bookstore, who turns out to be Siobhanā€™s son, Keir, who is broody, grumpy and treats her badly, determined to get her back to America; but Emily manages to bring out her sassy side giving the same back at him. In a short time, things will change, as the fiery chemistry between them escalates, with both eventually finding themselves falling for each other.Ā  The banter between them was fun and witty; with Keir unable to resist Emilyā€™s charm.

Emily is thrilled to meet her hero, Siobhan, which was a dream come true.Ā  Siobhan was a terrific character, being so sweet and happy around Emily, taking her around the town. Finally, with both discussing things, Siobhan begins to find her muse, and starts to write again.Ā  I really loved Siobhan, and her closeness to Emily. Emily was the perfect person for Siobhan, as they both became close, with both having so much love and passion in working on the book.

We learn more about why Keir is so protective of his mother, and when Siobhanā€™s health takes a turn, she is more determined to finish the final book.Ā  Emily learns the secret that she has to keep it from Keir, and understands why he always wanted her to rest. Emily made a promise, and can she hide the truth of Siobhanā€™s health until she finishes the book?

When Keir learns the truth about Siobhanā€™s health, he pushes Emily away, and tells her to leave Ireland when the book is done.Ā  As we get closer to the end, all three of them work together to finish the book, to a successful conclusion. Keir will realize that he loves Emily, and they will find their way back together.

What follows is a wonderful heartwarming story, with love, romance, friendship, great secondary characters; and lots of Ireland.Ā  I loved how the town all adored Siobhan, especially those who were part of the book shop and house. Ā This book covered a lot of issues along the way, such as emotions, grief, love and family. Love at First Book was so very well written by Jenn McKinlay.

Love at First Book was a fantastic read, which I thought was the best one yet from McKinlay. I loved the book from start to finish.Ā  I suggest you read Love at First Book.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 13, 2024

Seven years ago, Hope Harper was a star defense attorney with a great lifeā€”until she got the wrong defendant released, and he turned around and viciously slaughtered her family. Since then, the only thing Hope cares about is locking bad guys behind bars where they canā€™t hurt anyone else. When the killer escapes from a maximum security prison during a winter storm, Hope refuses to run and hide.

The FBIā€™s Hostage Rescue Team is called in to protect the handful of public figures the notorious serial killer threatened. Operator Aaron Nash draws the short strawā€”heā€™ll be heading up Assistant District Attorney Hope Harperā€™s close protection detail.

Much to Aaronā€™s frustration, the cool blonde refuses to go into protective custody. As the hours and days wear on, Aaron and Hope manage a fragile truce. He begins to understand and admire the tenacious prosecutor, and the two of them begin to work together.
As the escaped serial killerā€™s rampage spins on, Hope knows itā€™s just a matter of time until he comes for her. Except somethingā€™s changed. For the first time since losing her family, she has something to live for. But is history doomed to repeat itself?

ā€¢ā€¢ā€¢ā€¢

REVIEW: COLD FURY is the fourth instalment in Toni Andersonā€™s contemporary, adult COLD JUSTICE-MOST WANTED erotic, romantic suspense series- a spin off, set in the authorā€™s Cold Justice series. This is FBI HRT (Hostage Rescue Team) Operator Aaron Nash, and attorney Hope Harperā€™s story line. COLD FURY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Hope and Aaron COLD FURY follows in the wake of the escape of a serial killer. Approximately seven years earlier, defense attorney Hope Harper was successful in obtaining the release of billionaire Julius Leech, a man who would turn around and murder Hopeā€™s husband and daughter. Fast forward to present day, Julius Leech, along with several other prisoners, has escaped in the wake of a prison transport accident, and anyone connected to Juliusā€™ case is now a target of betrayal and revenge. At the top of the list is the now ADA Hope Harper, and the FBI has assigned a team of agents to protect our story line heroine. Enter FBI HRT Operator Aaron Nash, the man with whom Hope will fall in love but as the body count begins to amass, Julius Leech continues to control the narrative of his vengeance, pulling Hope Harper into his game of cat and mouse. What ensues is the protection of Hope Harper; the building relationship between Hope and Aaron, and the potential fall-out as secrets reveal a deeper betrayal that no one saw coming.

The world building is intricate and detailed as we are up close and personal with a killer, and a woman who is struggling with the loss of her family. Refusing to believe she is the target of Julius Leech, Hope tries and fails to decline the protection of the FBI but more so, in the face of her attraction to our story line hero.

The relationship between Hope and Aaron is trepidatious. Aaron refuses to cross the line, and Hope battles between head and heart as she continues to push away, not only Aaron, but the FBI HRT team. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters who play a significant and consequential role in the current time line including FBI agents Will Griffin, Seth Hopper, Sebastian Black, Cowboy, Livingstone and Cadell: attorney Jeff Beasley; Hopeā€™s PA Colin Leighton; Julius Leech, his PA Blake Delaware, as well as several questionable characters surrounding Julius Leech.

COLD FURY is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, murder, madness, and obsession, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is twisted and captivating; the romance is impassioned but subtle; the characters are determined and tenacious.

REVIEW:The Wilder Wedding is a quick little novella by Carrie Ann Ryan. This quick little read is the seventh book in the Wilder Brother series, it is recommended to read the series in order. This book is Naomi and Amos’s story.

Naomi is the Innkeeper for the resort the Wilder owns and operates, she escaped her past and is trying to build a new future for herself. She and Amos have a relationship, but one the she doesn’t really understand. She loves him, but doesn’t know where they stand together. Due to her family issues in the past, she has a hard time opening up and being happy.

The plot thickens are Naomi is attacked, and Amos being Amos, he vows to protect her. Now he has his own issues with his past marriage, and with Naomi, he feels protective and wants the best for her. Even for a while he thinks that isn’t their relationship. These two are drawn together, their chemistry is potent, but as always, they seem to be in each other’s way of their own happiness.

In CAR fashion for her novellas, the story goes quick, but it fills in a lot of gaps in the previous books. Amos and Naomi’s story is fast paced, emotional and moving, with just the right hint of danger and spice, just what you expect for this author.

I loved weddings.
There. I said it. I loved everything that went into a wedding and the day of. Some people called them a spectacle and a waste of money. After all, it was one big party for most people in which money, blood, sweat, tears, and countless spreadsheets went into to make them seemingly perfect. Even though no day was actually perfect.
And I loved it all.
I loved the moment. That moment when the bride and groom, or two grooms, two brides, or any poly mix, found themselves looking at each other for the first time.
I loved the shock, the glee, the terror, the excitement. I loved when brides ended up nearly running to their grooms. Or that one time when the two grooms decided to meet halfway down the aisle, even though it wasnā€™t planned, it just happened. I loved everything about that moment.
The moment you knew that you made the right decision. Where love conquered all and your stomach tightened because you knew this was it. That moment. That everything.
Of course, not all weddings worked perfectly. And not all weddings made sense. Sometimes you went in having a horrible feeling that this just wasnā€™t going to work out. That they were making a mistake with their decisions.
But those didnā€™t happen as often as some people thought.
When you decide to give your all to someone, to promise to love and to protect and to cherish that person, you go all in.
What comes later may change things. Perhaps youā€™re not the same person you once were, so those promises donā€™t mean what they used to. Or perhaps you realize that you were wrong, and you had been looking through rose-colored glasses.
Or perhaps fate deals a cruel blow, and you lose that other person before you even had a chance to make good on that promise.
I sighed and set my chin on my hand as I watched the bride and groom practice their walk down the aisle during the rehearsal. Their wedding was the next morning, and this was a late afternoon rehearsal. Alexis was brand new to the Wilder team, and I was grateful for her and everything she brought not only to the process, but to the Wilders themselves. The past few wedding planners the Wilder brothers hired hadnā€™t been up to scratch. In fact, they had failed so hard I was surprised they could even write a single to-do list.
I had worked here before the Wilder brothers had even come to Texas. To be honest, I had been a little skeptical of them. After all, most of them had no experience with running a winery, running an inn, or dealing with events, let alone weddings.
Six strapping brothers, all in a different state of denial and damage, had shown up at our door and proclaimed themselves our new bosses. Our former boss had decided to retire. He had tried his best, and had laid down a decent foundation, but since the Wilder brothers had shown up, we had changed for the better.
We were still finding our way, but the Wilder brothers were making things work. And from what I could tell, a few of them were creating sparks of their own.
Alexis and Eli seemed to be enjoying each otherā€™s company, although it was my job as innkeeper of the Wilder Inn to ensure that the staff didnā€™t gossip about our big boss and the wedding planner. Nor were we allowed to gossip about our new chef, Kendall Wilder, and her ex-husband, Evan. No, we didnā€™t talk about those things.
Only it was the best thing we talked about.
Sparks flew and one day someone was going to get burned. However, I had a good feeling about them. That meant there were still four more Wilders, and I heard there was even another set of cousins, so there were more sexy Wilders out there. They needed happy ever afters too, and who knew, maybe this Wilder Retreat and Winery could be the thing that changed everything for them.
Because it made changes and hope for others.
It made things spark.
ā€œExcuse me, maā€™am? Is this where we check in?ā€
I immediately turned back to the front of my desk, smiling wide. I hadnā€™t heard the older couple come in, and that meant I needed to get my head out of the stars and actually focus on my job.
ā€œYes of course, Iā€™m sorry. Welcome. Mr. and Mrs. Statham, is it?ā€ I asked, remembering their names from the schedule book. We were a large inn with multiple cabins and rooms within our main building, but we werenā€™t so large that I couldnā€™t remember timings and faces if I did my social media scooping well enough. I knew their likes, dislikes, and little touches from the survey they filled out.
Not everyone had social media, so thankfully many people who wanted to enjoy their trip and feel loved and cared for filled out the survey properly. Including allergies, their favorite color, and other random things. The more thorough, the more I could enhance their trip.
I had a whole team to help me with that, to help clean rooms and to keep the large all-wood entryway pristine. But I usually rolled up my sleeves and put in some elbow grease beside them.
Many of the team from before left after our old boss decided to abandon ship. The Wilders had hired so many new faces that sometimes it felt like I was constantly catching up. But the core of us, we were still here.
Like Maddie, Jay, and Amos from the winery. They hadnā€™t wanted to leave the grapes or the barrels, so they stayed, and I had a feeling they would never leave. After all, Elijah and Evan Wilder were kicking ass over there, though I couldnā€™t read Elijah, because I didnā€™t know if he was smirking or not, and Evan liked to growl.
But he fit in over there because Amos loved to growl too.
Not that I was thinking about Amos.
It was better not to think about him. When I had first seen him, Iā€™d swooned.
Yes, Iā€™d swooned.
That big bushy beard and those dark eyes and slanted eyebrows that always made him look angry. I loved them. He was all wide and full of muscle. He could lift like nobodyā€™s business, and put some of the Wilders to shame in the muscle department. And when he pushed up his sleeves to his elbows, showing off those forearms? I nearly fanned myself just thinking about it. A girl could weep.
Of course, now I was thinking about Amos while I was checking in our new guests and showing them around the lobby before I led them to their rooms. That was probably bad for business.
Plus, it wasnā€™t great for my heart.
After all, Amos had no idea I had a crush on him. And he didnā€™t need to knowā€”ever.
