REVIEW:SCORNED LOVE is the third instalment in Victoria Paige’s contemporary, adult SCORNED FATE erotic, Mafia romance series. This is twenty-seven year old Nico De Lucci, and business woman Ivy Wu’s story line. SCORNED LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. The Scorned Fate series is set in the author’s DE LUCCI’S OBSESSION world, which is interconnected with the author’s ROGUE PROTECTOR’S series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nico and Ivy) SCORNED LOVE follows the building but acrimonious relationship between Nico and Ivy. Ivy Wu is the bane of Nico De Lucci’s existence. Believing Ivy is a spoiled brat, Nico struggles with his attraction to the woman with whom he will fall in love but all is not well behind the scenes, and Ivy will become a target of a broken mind. Ivy Wu, and her cousin Xander Wu are the face and designers for Donateka, a world wide, high end, luxury boutique, and their new line is about to draw the attraction of the people in the know but an attack against our heroine and her business finds Nico taking charge, proclaiming himself guardian and protector. As the attacks against Ivy increase, Nico battles with the demons from his past, believing the threats against Ivy may be his fault. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ivy and Nico, and the potential fall-out as Nico and Ivy becomes collateral damage in mutual wars.

The world building follows several intersecting paths focusing on the what was; what happened; and what was never meant to be. Nico battles the memories of what was, and Ivy struggles with the demons that refuse to let go.

The relationship between Nico and Ivy is tempestuous at best. The back and forth antagonistic banter is equally charged but in the past Nico has landed a few emotional punches that Ivy can never forget. Time spent together means the heart wants something more. The $ex scenes are provocative and passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting powerful and charismatic characters including the extended De Lucci family including Nico’s sister Bianca, and their brother Matteo (Sera), parents Cesar and Ava (De Lucci’s Obsession), as well as Ivy’s brother Daniel, and their cousin Xander. The requisite evil has many faces. Bianca’s story line is next.

SCORNED LOVE is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The premise is dramatic and intense; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are determined and dynamic.

Amy has no intentions of saying no to our story line heroine, and their relationship goes from zero to sixty in the blink of an eye. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

We are introduced to a couple of the Reapers: August, Nixon; Sheriff Billy, as well as Amy’s employees Penelope and Martha. The requisite evil has many faces.

A REAPER’S SECRET is a fast paced, quick read of power and vendetta, betrayal and hurt, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing and entertaining; the romance is passionate, fast and furious; the characters are determined and driven. The epilogue advances the story line ten years.

REVIEW:THE UNTHINKABLE TRUTH by Yona Bouskila is a contemporary, adult, sci-fi, thriller focusing on free will-real or an illusion?

Told from several third person perspectives including theoretical physicist George Bennet, THE UNTHINKABLE TRUTH follows in the wake of an invitation to UNESCO in Paris France where a delegation of the world’s most educated and brilliant authorities in their fields, find themselves with a conundrum. Days spent deliberating the possibility of free-will, the team’s conclusion and ultimate decision is met with resistance, and the greatest minds will become prisoners of a mad-man determined to take control, at any cost.

Quoting real-world science research and fact, the first fifty percent of THE UNTHINKABLE TRUTH reads like a multi-discipline dissertation focusing on aspects of sociology, psychology, social-psychology, physics, experiments, ethics, theories, studies and conclusions. At times, difficult to comprehend (unless the reader is aware of the background), all of the quotations and examples, sets the frame of reference for what is to come. Constructing the groundwork and framing the inevitable conflict for THE UNTHINKABLE TRUTH, the complicated and multi-layered first half of the story references many famous and infamous social and psychological experiments, most of which were and continue to be unethical today. When the team discovers the truth, the illegal, unscrupulous and disreputable fall-out threatens those who oppose the people in charge.

THE UNTHINKABLE TRUTH is a complex, detailed, and thought-provoking story of madness, humanity and the human mind, and begs the question, was the team part of another experiment or victims of power and arrogance?
