Or maybe she’s a need…

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter.

Right and wrong.

Good or bad.

She. Was. Mine.

THE FINAL BOOK IN THE JEWELRY BOX SERIES!

Triggers on every warning possible.
This is dark, explicit, and will push every boundary that exists.
Be warned….
And to all those dark souls out there…welcome to The Jewelry Box

••••••

REVIEW: DIAMOND KISS is the fourth and final instalment in Pepper Winters’ contemporary, adult THE JEWELRY BOX dark, erotic, series focusing on twenty-nine year old, Henri Mercer-Ward, and Ilyana Sharma. DIAMOND KISS should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events and cliff hanger of book three SAPPHIRE SCARS. Henri Ward is the half-brother to Q Mercer (Monsters in the Dark).

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE SIGNIFICANT TRIGGERS for more sensitive readers.

SOME BACKGROUND: A desperate need to know about the family history, and acceptance by his brother Q, Henri Mercer-Ward is tasked with infiltrating a human trafficking ring known as The Jewelry Box but Henri must first seduce a potential jewel, a woman to be trained, to be broken, to be claimed as his own.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Henri and Ilyana) picks up immediately after the events of book three in which Henri must prove to Master Victor, the owner and proprietor of the Jewelry Box, that he is worthy of the title Master but Henri has fallen in love with the jewel he calls Ily, and it is his love for Ily that will prove the downfall of our story line hero, threatening his life, his sanity and his sense of self worth. As Henri fights for his life, the jewels will get help from an unlikely source.

The world building continues to focus on the sadistic, the madness, the unthinkable. The dark proclivities and deadly desires of madmen whose need to use and abuse goes beyond. The increasingly dark and brutal action are difficult to read, to comprehend and to acknowledge as anything but inhuman.

DIAMOND KISS is the final chapter in the author’s Jewelry Box series focusing on Q’s half-brother Henri, a man who had struggled with the who, what and why of his own existence. Once again, the premise is dark, dramatic barbarous and merciless; the characters are broken, destroyed, damaged yet desperate and determined.

->HEED the TRIGGER WARNING-dark, dramatic, intense, graphic and heart breaking.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 26, 2024

I was born into the Cosa Nostra, so I’ve always known an arranged marriage loomed in my future.

When the Capo dei Capi of the Cosa Nostra comes to Sicily to give his approval for his cousin, Stefano, to take me as his bride, I know my fate is all but sealed. Marrying Stefano is the last thing I want, but being a woman, I don’t have a say in the matter.

Damiano Falco is merciless and rules the Cosa Nostra with an iron fist. Everyone fears him and won’t dare go against him.
I’m still trying to accept that I’ll have no choice but to marry Stefano when Damiano utters the last word anyone expects to hear.

“No.”

He doesn’t give his approval, nor does he offer any explanation.

But if I think his refusal will set me free, I have another thing coming. Instead, my bags are packed, and within hours, I find myself sitting on a private jet with the head of the Costa Nostra.
The ruthless man doesn’t tell me anything, and I have no idea what my future holds.

To say I’m terrified is the understatement of the century.

REVIEW:God Of Vengeance is book five in the Kings of Mafia series by Michelle Heard. This book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series.

Gabriella di Bella is a 23-year-old mafia princess. She wasn’t raised as a princess though, in fact her life was nothing but traumatic. Her family raised her for one purpose – to arrange a marriage that benefited them. And that is where the story begins. Gabriella is set to marry Stefano Ferraro, well, that is if the Capo dei Capi of the Cosa Nostra approves it. The approval must come from Damiano Falco himself. Damiano is in charge of the entire Cosa Nostra at 38 years old. When Gabriella finds out that Damiano is coming to her home to give her family approval to marry her off, she is scared. She has heard stories of the brutal man Damiano is.

But Gabriella doesn’t want to marry Stefano, the abuse she has received all her life is already continuing with him before they are even engaged. Stefano is in his late 40’s, and not once has he ever offered Gabriella a smile or a kind word. The last thing she wants is to marry him. When Damiano arrives to discuss the arranged marriage, he sees exactly how Gabriella has been treated by both her family and her betrothed.

The last thing he wants it to allow Stefano to marry her. Damiano has other plans. Once he denies the approval for the marriage, he decides to take Gabriella away from her family and will find someone else within the Cosa Nostra to marry her. She is of course a Mafia Princess and deserves to be treated as such.

But his plan doesn’t go quite how he wants it to. The man he had thought would be perfect for Gabriella has already set his sights on someone else. Now he must decide what to do with her. He knows he can’t return her to her family with how they treated her. He will never approve her marriage to Stefano. With every passing day he watches Gabriella acclimate to life in his world, in his home. When he can no longer deny his feelings for her he must decide what to do with her. Will she ever be able to love him being that he is one of the most ruthless men in the Cosa Nostra?

Gabriella is a strong-willed survivor. She has spent her life suffering abuse at the hands of her family. But she will not allow them to see her weak.
Standing tall in the face of the abuse they doled out; she knows her life had a bigger purpose than marrying Stefano.

So when the leader of the Cosa Nostra takes her with him she doesn’t protest too much. Although he is dark and dangerous walking, she has no idea what he has in store for her. But she does know he is the most intriguing man she has ever met. And as her feelings for him grow, she wonders if he could ever feel the same towards her.

I absolutely loved this story. Damiano was dark, brooding and death walking. He was the most terrifying and intimidating of all the Cosa Nostra.
I enjoyed his character immensely. I loved the slowness of the build of their relationship. And how long it took him to admit he had feelings for Gabriella. I loved reading how Gabriella came into her own and how she realizes her role and what she will be within the Cosa Nostra.
An amazing read if you love mafia romance. Can’t recommend this entire series enough.

Please heed the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 26, 2024

No one but me knew why I was actually in the California desert that day.
Nestled deep within the desolate, rocky area was a recording studio.
When a door suddenly opened, a man mistook me for someone he was supposed to be interviewing for a job.
The next thing I knew, I was whisked inside.
The position? An assistant on the upcoming tour for one of America’s most famous rock bands.
Pretty exciting opportunity for a twenty-two-year-old, just out of college.
Not surprisingly, I bombed the interview.
When I ended up mistakenly walking into the men’s room on my way out, I struck up a conversation with a stranger—not realizing it was the lead singer, Tristan Daltrey.
He seemed to like the fact that I had no idea who he was, that I saw him as a normal person.
That night, I got a call offering me the job.
So began my complicated story with Tristan.
Millions of women loved him.
Yet for some reason, after the shows, he only wanted to hang out with me.
Late-night talks. Casual dinners in his hotel room.
I wasn’t supposed to be fraternizing with the band’s frontman.
Despite our fifteen-year age difference, Tristan and I had a connection.
But I had a secret.
One that would eventually lead to my leaving the tour.
And one that would lead Tristan and the band straight to the small town where I came from.

REVIEW: THE ROCKER’S MUSE by Penelope Ward is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, erotic, rock romance story line focusing on thirty-eight year old, rock star Tristan Daltrey, and twenty-two year old, assistant Emily Applewood.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Emily and Tristan) THE ROCKER’S MUSE follows the building relationship between our story line couple. Emily Applewood was desperate to speak to Tristan Daltrey, a man she didn’t know, much less, didn’t have any idea about his music or his life but Emily finds herself interviewing for the position of the band’s assistant wherein she will discover the mutual attraction between herself and the lead singer. As Emily’s time with the band means more time with our story line hero, Emily knows that the secret she had so desperately tried to reveal is about to pull her away from the man with whom she is falling in love. Months will pass, each will find someone else, yet Emily knows it is time to confront the man with the secrets she has kept far too long.

The world building focuses on the band Delirious Jones, and the growing relationship between our story line couple but Emily has a secret, and suspects, her secret may destroy the man with whom she is falling in love.

The relationship between Emily and Tristan is an age-gap romance between band assistant and rock star singer. Tristan finds himself pull into the home-spun aura that is our story line heroine but Emily is about to break Tristan’s heart with the secret she knows. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

We are introduced to the members of the band:bass player Ronan Barber and drummer Atticus Marchetti, and tour photographer Layla, as well as Emily’s mother Terry Applewood. Here’s hoping the author has plans for every member of the band.

THE ROCKER’S MUSE is a story of secrets and lies, family and friendships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is emotional and engaging; the romance is seductive ; the characters are sassy and dynamic.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

I’ve always been a walking contradiction. After all, how many people do you know who are a violin maestro AND a mafia member?
Trying to distance myself from my past mob life, I’ve accepted an artist-in-residence position at Thronewood University.
Teaching privileged, barely-adult brats isn’t my idea of fulfilling, but at least it won’t end me back in the hospital or prison.
Been there. Done that.

But there’s something going on at this school that isn’t right. A chance meeting with one of my students, Victoria Waldorf, confirms it.
She’s beautiful, but not vain. She’s innocent, but not naïve.
And she’s a pawn in a game she’s not even aware exists.

I’m the last person on earth who should be protecting her. I’m too hard, too cold… hell, too old to even breathe the same air as her.
Not to mention my past is right in the middle of this mess.
But I’m not going to let anything happen to her.
Keeping her safe means keeping her close. And like it or not, the only way she makes it out of this alive is with my ring on her finger.
A vow I take seriously.

Cora Kent’s first love was Scar and she was devastated when he didn’t get a happily ever after. That’s why all her books feature villains, dark romance, and a hint of the forbidden.

Ever since she was a kid, Cora has rooted for the bad guy. If the Big Bad Wolf ate out Little Red Riding Hood, it would have made for a better story–which is why all her books have a happily ever after for the morally grey anti-hero who will move heaven and earth for his woman.

Review:

The First Herald: A Project Blue Novel by Carol T. Luna. This is a Spin off/related to the author’s previous series. (Which you don’t need to read before reading this one.)

This book just kept me reading until the last page. It has intrigue/suspense and a puzzle that needs solving. A dystopian read, a floating city and a character you can really get behind.

Loved the glossary and character list at the beginning of the book. I did have to go back and check who was who a couple of times. It’s full of background information and it’s got the potential to be a great series.

If you’re looking for a fluffy and light read, then this book isn’t for you. It needs total concentration and a willingness to put the time and effort into it. But I promise you, it will be worth it.

The transcripts that are added to the story was a really good addition to the book. Although a time date might have been helpful (you have to assume they are read in date order, it’s a picky thing, my opinion only). When power becomes absolute, then it can corrupt. But how do you know? Is there a sign? That’s what Zach is on the trail of, but there are blocks that prevent him from gathering all the information.

The characters were very interesting, and I was totally hooked on this story from the start. I really liked Zach, He is complicated, and very dedicated to his job.

A dark sci-fi that’s really thought provoking. And I’m hoping there will be a series or another book 🤞

I’m only expecting to talk to her for a few minutes and explain how much I admire her. Instead, we’re hooked up by mutual friends, and as they say, chemistry as electric as ours? It can’t be denied.

Willa

I’m a fresh off the end of a long-term relationship. I’ve taken the required time that women like me need when our hearts are broken, and now I’m ready to get out and play the field again.

The only thing is; I don’t expect “the field” to mean with an actual professional athlete.

But when I meet Blake Whitfield, I know my life is never going to be the same. Late nights, early mornings, public outings, and the opinions of every person around us isn’t enough to discourage this love story.

As they say; let the games begin…

REVIEW:Laramie Briscoe has dropped another knockout! The Air I Breathe is a spicy celebrity, sports romance filled with angst, drama and second chances.

Willa is a pop-star, think T-Swift on overload if that’s possible, she does what she does and lives her life wild and free like she has always wanted to. Music is in her blood and the connection with it and her fans means everything to her. However, with every great song-writer there comes a past attached to it, and normally one with many stories. With her past, Willa has become cautious and guarded, agreeing to the type of meet up she does is out of character for her, but one she hopes will be a good thing.

Little does she know, it’s going to turn her whole life topseturvey.

Willa and Blake (who is such a sweetheart by the way!) are a match made in music heaven! This book was a kick in the pants with the laughter, and for once I can really say that listening to a killer music playlist while reading really did justice to the book. Willa and Blake try to manage a relationship in the public eye, and slowly start to realize how difficult it really can be. Everyone wants so much from them, their time, energy, music, love, they both love who they are and after some serious soul searching decide to make a true go at their relationship.

Blake and Willa had such great chemistry and banter and I think that is what had me coming back for more with each page. The Air I Breathe is a very happy go lucky, fluff book that had me grinning like an idiot while I was reading and frankly it was just happy, and sometimes that is all a reader wants in a book.
