But I’m not signing the papers. Hell no! I’ll give up every single one of my womanizing ways for a woman like her.

Sophie thinks I’m only infatuated with her looks, except I see how everyone underestimates her. I’m not intimidated by her wealth, her modeling career, and the trail of broken hearts she leaves behind her. What we have is different.

I’ve lived my whole life unable to feel anything thanks to my rough childhood, but for Sophie, I’ll risk everything. Her rich father and the jealous women in my club aren’t going to stand in my way. If she wants a divorce, she’ll have to spend one month with me at the War Brothers clubhouse. Sleeping in my bed.

Then we’ll see if she still refuses to say I do . . .

REVIEW: VIPER is the fourth instalment in Bianca Lee Ward’s contemporary, adult WAR BROTHERS MC erotic, MC romance series whose members are former military personnel. This is Brayden ‘Viper’ Young, and businesswoman Sophie Crown. VIPER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sophie and Viper) VIPER follows in the wake of the unplanned Vegas wedding between our story line couple. Sophie Crown is a savvy business woman but never expected to find herself married to a member of the War Brothers MC. A drunken one-night stand results in a drunk Vegas wedding, a one-month promise, and a billionaire father who will do anything to protect his only daughter. What ensues is the building relationship between Sophie and Viper, and the potential fall-out as Sophie is targeted, and her father is threatening to destroy the War Brothers MC.

The relationship between Viper and Sophie begins as a one-night stand that ends in marriage and a runaway bride. Viper is desperate to give his marriage a chance but Sophie’s father is determined to tear them apart. As Viper and Sophie begin a one-month experiment together, someone else works behind the scenes to destroy them both. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to most of the members of the War Brothers MC including president Reaper and Ava, Bomber and Zara, and Axle as well as Sophie’s brothers Lawson, Harrison and Alec, and their father.

VIPER is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and obsession, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and fascinating; the romance is passionate; the characters are desperate, determined and dynamic.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 29, 2024

She’s a wager, a game…
I’ll pretend she’s mine, such a pretty little lie.

I’m exactly the type of guy Elena should stay away from. Sweet, innocent women like her don’t look for relationships in motorcycle clubs. Especially one as classy and out of my league as Elena.

I can’t resist swiping right on her dating profile for fun. I never imagined we’d be a match. I know I’d only be a quick thrill for her, but I’m getting tired of the women at the clubhouse anyway.

Then my club brother Viper goes and ups the stakes: he bets me one thousand dollars that I won’t be able to have a relationship with Elena. With my wicked smile and flirty charm, she won’t be able to resist me. And like my other hookups, I can’t let it get personal.

Until I let my guard down and she becomes my ride or die.
Which means I’ve got to make sure as hell that Elena never finds out about our bet

•••••

REVIEW:AXLE is the first instalment in Bianca Lee Ward’s contemporary, adult WAR BROTHERS MC erotic, MC romance series. This is Jake ‘Axle’ Evans, and Elena’s story line.

NOTE:Although Axle is the first book in the series, all of the books (so far) have been released out of order, and therefore some of the situations and characters are already known.

Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Elena and Axle) AXLE follows the building relationship between our story line couple. Elena is new in Crown Village, having ‘escaped’ her judgemental family back home but having met her new roommates, Elena begins to question her decision including working at the local seafood restaurant, and the boss who is questionable at best. When a fellow employee sets Elena up on a dating app, our heroine never expected to come face to face with a member of the War Brothers MC, the man with whom Elena will fall in love but all is not as it appears to be, and Elena will discover she is a pawn in a bet between members of the War Brothers MC.

The world building focuses on the building romance and relationship between our story line couple, as well as Elena’s unsettling boss, the problematic women of the War Brothers MC; our heroine’s battle to break free from the past, and Elena’s struggle with Axle’s life as a member of the MC.

The relationship between Elena and Axle begins as a dating app match, a match in which Axle is manipulating their ‘affair’. Elena is naïve to the MC lifestyle, and in this, she is gullible to the comments and rhetoric, as well as the manipulation of her roommates and fellow employees. As Axle continues his ‘seduction’ of our story line heroine, Elena begins to fall for a man who may not be as honest as she thought. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Elena’s numerous roommates and their ever present friends; her questionable boss Cameron, and co-worker Mel. We are (re) introduced to several members of the War Brothers MC including Reaper (Ava), Viper, Demon, Bomber, and Twitch.

AXLE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and heart break, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The fast paced premise is engaging and edgy ; the characters are animated and sensitive; the romance is flawed and spirited.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 31, 2024

God forgives those who seek forgiveness.

But what about those who cannot ask for it?
Those who carry a secret, silenced and unaware of what they harbor within.
When God is absent, the demons take control.
That’s where I come in – to give these souls a voice, a fighting chance.
A warrior of God, if you will.

My name is Virgil Desdemone, and I, am an Exorcist.
This calling has come at a price: my life.
Demons have hunted me for most of my existence, and recently, I’ve gone into hiding.
I sought refuge in the confines of an abandoned church.

What I least expected was to be found, and least of all that I’d find solace within an MC,One that walks on the edge of hell.
I hoped the chaos and blurred lines would hide my soul,
making me neither good nor bad, just existing.

But Death surrounds me.
And eventually, I will meet my maker,
Just not at the hands of a demon.
One relentless demon comes to mind.
It is determined to claim my soul and torture the souls of the ones I care about.
Death offers to help.

There’s only one tiny problem…
Death seems to have fallen in love with me, and it’s getting in the way of saving the one woman who may just know how to save me.

***Virgil’s Demons is Book #8 in the RBMC Mother Chapter’s prequels and should be read after Raven’s Spectre.***

REVIEW: VIRGIL’S DEMONS is the eight instalment in Crimson Syn’s adult RBMC: MOTHER CHAPTER PREQUEL dark, erotic, MC romance series focusing on the founding members of the RBMC. This is MC Chaplain and exorcist, Virgil Desdemone, and tattoo artist / empath Barythaya’s paranormal story line. VIRGIL’S DEMONS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several first person perspectives (Virgil, Barythaya, Spectre, Death, Hellsing) set approximately 30 years in the past, VIRGIL’S DEMONS follows Virgil Desdemone as he struggles with the demons that are controlling his life. His life as an exorcist was questionable at best, having lost too many lives in the process but finding a home with the RBMC, Virgil would discover the true meaning of fear when a young tattoo artist called to his heart but all is not well in Virgil’s life, and the demons and Death are targeting the woman he loves.

VIRGIL’S DEMONS is an edgy, dark and unconventional tale of reflection and introspection, power and control, demons and death, acceptance and love. The premise is twisted, haunting and gritty, brutal and raw; the characters are desperate, broken and tragic.

Heed the trigger warnings for sensitive readers.

I started writing at the age of sixteen. The first romance I read was Stephanie Laurens’ Devil’s Bride. Since then I have been influenced by dozens of flourishing romance authors and even more dashing and daring rogues. I must say it, but Fifty Shades was not my first erotic romance, nor did it influence me to start writing them. If you’ve never read Mary Balogh, Elizabeth Hoyt, Lisa Kleypas, Bertrice Small or A.N. Roquelaure’s Sleeping Beauty trilogy, then you’re missing out. Those were my sweet introductions to erotic romance, and boy were they hot.

So here I am, after reading so many wonderful stories, I have too many sinful tales of my own not to share. I like my alphas rough and possessive, and I have no shame in saying it or writing it. I had delightfully wicked teachers growing up, their books took me to new worlds and brought me new loves. So, I want to do the same for you. I want to indulge my readers in those steamy reads that will send them into the arms of dangerous alphas and deliciously sexy rogues, without leaving the confines of their nice warm bed. If I am able to entice your inner goddesses, then I have done my job and I am satisfied.

Julien Moreau was never supposed to read my fantasy bucket list.

He needs a wife, and I need a ticket away from my abusive family.

I don’t care if he’s built like a peak athlete with a dangerous and possessive vibe.

It doesn’t matter if he’s undeniably sexy. The man’s a mafia kingpin, and all he knows how to do is destroy.

Now I’m thrown into the middle of a vicious war, and Julien promises to keep me safe…

REVIEW: SUNRISE MALICE is the third instalment in BB Hamel’s contemporary, adult DARK MAFIA ROMANCE set in the author’s Bianco Family world. This is French mobster Julien Moreau, and Brianne Campbell’s story line. SUNRISE MALICE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory story and cohesion.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Julien and Brianne) and one chapter from Pascal, SUNRISE MALICE focuses on the arranged marriage between our story line couple. The arrival of Julien’s ‘grandfather’ Pascal Moreau threatens not only Julien’s hard fought position within the criminal underworld of Chicago but his growing relationship with our story line heroine.

The world building follows several pathways including Julien and Brianne’s struggling relationship; a fight for control of power; a war Julien and the Russian Mafia; and the numerous attempts on the lives of our story line couple.

The relationship between Julien and Brianne is an arranged marriage, a marriage Julien needs to stake a claim with the Hayes Group but from the outset Julien struggles to accept Brianne as his future bride, forcing Brianne to reconsider her decision going forward. The $ex scenes are passionate and provocative.

We are introduced to Julien’s ‘grandfather’ and the head of the Moreau Crime family Pascal Moreau; Brianne’s best friend and Ronan’s cousin Kim Hayes; Julien’s second in command Jean; as well as the return of Ronan and Valentina.

Pony Confidential by Christina Lynch – a Review

Pony Confidential by Christina Lynch – a Review

Amazon / B&N / Kobo / Google Play / Apple / BAM / Bookbub

Description:
In this one-of-a-kind mystery with heart and humor, a hilariously grumpy pony must save the only human he’s ever loved after discovering she stands accused of a murder he knows she didn’t commit.

Pony has been passed from owner to owner for longer than he can remember. Fed up, he busts out and goes on a cross-country mission to reunite with the only little girl he ever loved, Penny, who he was separated from and hasn’t seen in years.

Penny, now an adult, is living an ordinary life when she gets a knock on her door and finds herself in handcuffs, accused of murder and whisked back to the place she grew up. Her only comfort when the past comes back to haunt her are the memories of her precious, rebellious pony.

Hearing of Penny’s fate, Pony knows that Penny is no murderer. So, as smart and devious as he is cute, the pony must use his hard-won knowledge of human weakness and cruelty to try to clear Penny’s name and find the real killer.

This acutely observant feel-good mystery reveals the humanity of animals and beastliness of humans in a rollicking escapade of epic proportions.

Review:

Pony Confidential by Christina Lynch is a unique standalone novel about a Pony and his former owner, Penny.  Years have passed, and Penny has never forgotten her childhood memories of her love for her Pony, when she was 12 years old: she is now 37 years old.   The story opens when Penny opens the door, and the police are arresting her for a murder, that she may have committed when she was 12 years old.  She is whisked back to Ithaca, NY, where she grew up.

Pony has constantly been passed over from many different owners, and now he is fed up, determined to find the only girl he ever loved; Penny.   Pony busts out and goes on a cross-country mission to find her. Pony can talk to all animals, and gets help from them, but the mission that he embarks on is a long-drawn-out journey.  It was fun with Pony being one of the narrators, and listening to him talk to the other animals; dog, birds, rat, sparrow, goat, butterflies and other species, who will eventually lead him to where he can find Penny.  Each animal has a distinct personality; including other horses who give Pony advice. Pony will also learn along the way, that Penny is in danger, and he needs to save her.

Penny works with a law student, as her actual attorney only appears in the courtroom. Slowly, Penny’s memories begin to remember that day 25 years ago, when someone else committed the murder.  Pony also remembers when another horse played a prank on Penny and the boy she was riding with, leaving both stranded in the woods.  Of course, Pony feels guilt, as he is determined to rescue Penny; since she was attacked, and someone was killed; but Penny was not the murderer.  The family moved away, and Penny never was able to say good-bye to her wonderful Pony.

Penny’s daughter pays a big part closer to the end, as she finds Pony, and together they will help Penny discover the two villains who were the true murderers. I really loved Pony, and his friends who helped him to find Penny, and the real culprits. This was a wonderful ending.   Pony Confidential was an interesting and different kind of story, which was so very well written by Christine Lynch.

Andee Paxton knows she’s good at her job as a fireworks designer. What she doesn’t know is that her biological father is Holt, a dangerous arms dealer who has escaped prison. And now he’s searching for his long-lost daughter-dearest.

But before the CIA can even attempt to spring their trap, she’s kidnapped along with the very hot Officer Adam Chan—all because they were too busy flirting to worry about silly things like “safety protocol.”

A fake relationship—for their protection, of course—and just a few explosions bring Andee and Chan closer, but there’s more than their growing connection at stake. If Holt’s plan succeeds, the world will be brought to its knees. Andee and Chan must rely on each other to stop him…or else everything (including their feelings for each other) might just blow up in their faces.

Review:

Mr. Nice Spy by Tiana Smith is the 2nd book in her My Spy series. The story picks up where it left off, with the CIA still actively on the hunt to find Holt, the dangerous arms dealer. Andee Paxton is very good at her job as a pyrotechnic fireworks engineer and designer; the CIA is aware that Holt is looking for his long-lost biological daughter (Andee). Andee decided to do a DNA test, and learns that Holt, is her real father and a dangerous villain.

CIA Officer Adam Chan meets Andee, who is being set up as bait to catch her father; but to her surprise, she is kidnapped along with Chan (he pretends that he is Andee’s boyfriend). They are both drugged and flown to France, where Holt is hiding. Chan goes out of his way to play pretend boyfriend, as he is sweet and protective; Chan also has a hearing disability.  In a short time, they both begin to have feelings for each other.

Andee and Chan must find a way to stop Holt’s evil plans, as well as discover a way to escape, not to mention getting the CIA to help find them. They were trapped in the catacombs by the deranged Holt.   Andee and Chan must rely on each other to trust themselves, to secure their freedom; as well as both of them definitely have chemistry. Using the fake relationship, turned out to be fun, and I really liked them together.  The scary part is Holt’s villainy that will bring upon global destruction and chaos, bringing the world to its knees.  He has created a pill that will kill those who take it, as he is determined to destroy the world.

Mr. Nice Guy was an exciting, action-packed, captivating thriller, with a sweet spy romance story.  Mr. Nice Guy was very well written by Tiana Smith, with a wonderful couple and a steamy romance. If you enjoy a spy drama, I suggest you read Mr. Nice Spy.

“You need to take it easy and reduce your stress.”

Not the words any small business owner wants to hear—especially when said business is already struggling.

Felicity “Flick” Patel is determined to make her yarn dyeing endeavor a success, even if she has to fight her biggest enemy to do so…

Herself.

She doesn’t need anything else to get in the way of achieving her dream. Not the competition, not the economy, and especially not some little kitten she found and has no idea what to do with.

Working with animals has always been a passion for veterinarian Sebastian Blum.

When feisty Flick comes into his practice with a kitten in tow, he sees not one, but two wounded animals that he wants to help. The kitten, he’s sure, is going to be much easier. Because Flick is a walking mystery—inviting him in and pushing him away at the same time.

He wants her to trust him with her secrets…can he show her the truth won’t scare him away?

•••••

REVIEW: WE CAN STAY is the second instalment in Lenna Phoenix’ s contemporary, adult SILENT JOURNEY erotic, romance series focusing on a group of women with chronic health problems. This is yarn dyer Felicity ‘Flick’ Patel, and veterinarian Dr. Sebastian Blum’s story line. WE CAN STAY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Flick and Sebastian) WE CAN STAY follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. A walk in the rain, a lost kitten and a visit to the local vet finds Felicity ‘Flick’ Patel face to face with her future in the guise of Dr. Sebastian Blum, the local veterinarian but Flick struggles with a chronic illness, and she battles between head and heart with the amount of information she reveals to the people in her life. As a member of the Chronic Pain Crafters Club, Flick feels a kinship with the women in the group but she often needs and wants her privacy without having anyone else interfere.

The world building follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple, as well as Sebastian’s need to do it all. Both Flick and Sebastian are overextended and exhausted, resulting in shortened tempers, and a loss of faith in their growing relationship. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include several veterinarian clients of Pine Island, as well as CPCC members Hannah, Maya and Alexis; and Sebastian’s brother Ben who struggles with his brother’s constant need to work.

WE CAN STAY is a story of chronic illness, secrets and lies, family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is captivating-once again, most of the conflict is personal; the romance is seductive and passionate ; the characters are determined but Flick’s attitude was a bit off-putting. Also, I am not a fan of the nickname ‘Flick’ -just feels out of place.

When Declan Quinn answered the call of a golden dragon shifter, he rutted his way into a disaster. His new mate had a vendetta against witches. Unfortunately, his best friend happened to be quite magical.

When her fire and his ice clashed, they realized fate had a cynical sense of humor. Can the sins of the mother ever wash away? Or will Alisa and Declan pay the ultimate price?

I’d read the first book in this new series (Giving the dragon Fire) which I loved. So I was looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Alisa is a gold dragon and is in town to meet her father, who she has never met before.

Declan is a teal dragon. He’s also a real player, ladies flock to our MMC, and he’s loving the lifestyle. He’s also a dragon that works for Alisa’s father!

Alisa hates witches with a vengeance! Declan’s best friend is a witch! (Can you see the situation here?) I did mutter “uh oh” out loud when I read that part.

And then being together sets Alisa’s curse off! The witches that want her 💀 now have Declan in their sights too! But unfortunately now they are mated Alisa can’t walk away and save Declan.

Fated mates is a real favourite genre of mine (the whole idea of a destined soul out their that is just for you, makes me swoon 😜)

We get to catch up with Ella and Gideon (Giving the Dragon Fire) which I always like (don’t like it when previous couples just disappear!) and there was a twist that I didn’t see, but I absolutely loved.

But saying that, you don’t have to read in order to appreciate this book. You won’t really miss anything (except a cute couple) if you start here.

As with the last book, it flows really well. We have steam, humor, danger, fated mates,, and a new family, it has enough spice to keep you hooked 😜 and plenty of drama to keep you turning the pages well past your bedtime. I was totally hooked, and didn’t stop until I was done.

So, will Declan aid his new mate in her quest for vengeance against the witches? Can Alisa’s curse be broken?

Oh and be prepared to cry towards the end….

I’m looking forward to the next book. 🦋
