REVIEW: TORN BY GRACE by Eve L Mitchell is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, erotic, romantic suspense story. This is waitress/server Grace Slater, and Bail Recovery Agent Dallas Elliot’s storyline.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Grace and Dallas) TORN BY GRACE focuses on the second chance relationship between Grace Slater and Dallas Elliot. Eight years earlier Grace’s brother Dempsey’s best friend Dallas Elliot broke Grace’s heart. Grace had been in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she could remember but Dallas was forced to choose between Grace and his friendship with Dempsey, and Dallas walked away from our story line heroine. Fast forward to present day wherein Dallas and Dempsey, now working as Bail Recovery Agents, have returned home, looking for a skip but Dallas is about to come face to face with his past. Grace Slater is working several jobs, struggling in a way no one expected but she has no other choice than go it alone. When Grace’s past resurfaces, Dallas is the first to come to her aid, help Grace continues to refuse until it may be too late. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Grace and Dallas, and the potential fall-out as Grace must face her brother’s wrath; the man she once loved; her family’s dysfunctional relationships, and a past that is looking for revenge.

The world building sets the tone for the Slater family dynamics, and Dallas’ connection to our story line heroine. We are introduced to Grace’s co-workers, most of whom have no idea about her troubles but suspect there is something wrong.

The relationship between Grace and Dallas is a best friend’s sister/ second chance romance in which Grace battles between head and heart remembering the heart break and humiliation of Dallas’ rejection. Dallas is desperate to protect our story line heroine , both from her past and from herself, but Grace is often a little TSTL (too stupid to live), and refuses to listen to the man with whom she has fallen in love. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

TORN BY GRACE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and revenge, abuse and power, forgiveness and love. The premise is emotional and heart breaking; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are broken, desperate but determined.
