ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 2, 2023

What’s a girl supposed to do when she’s secretly in love with her best friend?

I’ll you a hint. It’s not accompany him home for the holidays and pretend to be his girlfriend. How did I even end up here?

I’ll tell you how. I got lost in Justin Morrison’s baby blues, that’s how. Ever since Justin rescued me from my no good cheating ex – I’ve had a thing for him. I’ve done my best to keep it under wraps. Hell, I intended to take this truth to the grave. I’ve never had someone protect me the way he does and I’ve never wanted to ruin our friendship.

The problem is, to give his ailing grandma, possibly the best last Christmas, and cover a teensy teensy little white lie he told her, now I’m having to pretend to to be in love with him. Sleeping in the same bed…kissing him!

All for show of course.

But I can do this right? I can hide my real feelings? Even when he takes our public kisses behind closed doors and there’s no mistletoe in sight?

REVIEW: MISTLETOE HEARTS by Nana Malone is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, erotic, romance novella focusing on hotelier Justin Morrison, and artist Alex Winters.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Justin and Alex) MISTLETOE HEARTS follows the friends to best friends to lovers relationship between our leading couple. Approximately five years earlier, university student Alex Winters discovered her boyfriend had been cheating with two other women. Having witnessed the confrontation, Justin Morrison stepped in, claiming to be waiting for Alex to make up her mind. Fast forward five years, Justin and Alex consider themselves best friends but have never crossed the line into something sexual. When Justin’s grandmother demands he return home for Christmas, Justin is desperate for a ‘pretend girlfriend’ and Alex is the perfect girl for the ruse but unbeknownst to Justin, Alex is desperately in love with her best friend, and she is struggling with the fake relationship that will quickly turn into something more. What ensues is the best friends to lovers relationship between Justin and Alex, and the potential fall-out as their ruse begins to crumble, leaving Alex picking upon the pieces of her broken heart.

The relationship between Alex and Justin begins accidentally but our couple quickly become best friends going forward. Boyfriends and girlfriends will come and go but Justin has always depended upon the woman he calls his best friend. As Alex continues to battle between head and heart, she suspects when the holidays are over, she may lose her best friend along with her heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters included an assortment of exes, as well as Alex’s assistant Cassie, Justin’s scheming uncle Martin, and Grandma Lucy.

MISTLETOE HEARTS is a story of family and friendships, acceptance and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is predictable but sweet and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic and determined.

USA Today bestseller Nana Malone’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense she “borrowed” from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, in the meantime Nana works out her drama, passion, and sass with fictional characters every bit as sassy and kick butt as she thinks she is.
