REVIEW: VICIOUS CAPTOR is the fourth instalment in Aidee Jaimes contemporary, adult SEVEN DEADLY SINACORES dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is Rowan Kane, head of the McKenzie Crime Family in Boston, and Cartel princess Louisa Duran’s story line. VICIOUS CAPTOR can be read as a stand alone but for back story, I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Rowan and Louisa) VICIOUS CAPTOR follows the second chance romance and relationship between our story line couple. Five years earlier, Louisa Duran was devastated when the man that she loved, walked away from their midnight wedding proclaiming she was nothing more than a power move and pawn. Fast forward to present day, Louisa is about to marry someone she doesn’t love, only to find herself a prisoner of the man who broke her heart. Enter Rowan Kane, the new head of the McKenzie Crime Family, and the man who is about to pay for sins of the past. What ensues is the contemptuous but rebuilding romance and relationship between Rowan and Louisa, and the fall-out as Louisa makes good on a plan to destroy the man who destroyed her heart.

The world building continues to focus on the search for a killer, the man known as The Ferryman, a man who is seeking vengeance for sins of the past. As Rowan McKenzie reclaims the woman he has always loved, The Ferryman has other plans, including an alliance with the woman who will betray Rowan’s heart. Louisa has become a pawn in the lives of the criminal underworld but a pawn who is about to enact the ultimate revenge.

The relationship between Rowan and Louisa is one of second chances. Rowan left Louisa at the altar five years earlier, and Louisa has never forgiven or forgotten the ultimate betrayal. Believing Louisa will forgive him his sins, Rowan sets about to re-establish their relationship only to discover that everything was not as it appeared to be. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Rowan’s men Declan, Axel and Phil; Louisa’s father, Don Fernando Duran, and her mother Diana; as well as Louisa’s brothers Arturo, Renzo and Daniel. The requisite evil has many faces.

VICIOUS CAPTOR is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, forgiveness and acceptance, love and family. The premise is dramatic,intense and dark; the romance is provocative ; the characters are determined, desperate, broken and impassioned.
