REVIEW:SCORNED LOVE is the third instalment in Victoria Paige’s contemporary, adult SCORNED FATE erotic, Mafia romance series. This is twenty-seven year old Nico De Lucci, and business woman Ivy Wu’s story line. SCORNED LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. The Scorned Fate series is set in the author’s DE LUCCI’S OBSESSION world, which is interconnected with the author’s ROGUE PROTECTOR’S series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nico and Ivy) SCORNED LOVE follows the building but acrimonious relationship between Nico and Ivy. Ivy Wu is the bane of Nico De Lucci’s existence. Believing Ivy is a spoiled brat, Nico struggles with his attraction to the woman with whom he will fall in love but all is not well behind the scenes, and Ivy will become a target of a broken mind. Ivy Wu, and her cousin Xander Wu are the face and designers for Donateka, a world wide, high end, luxury boutique, and their new line is about to draw the attraction of the people in the know but an attack against our heroine and her business finds Nico taking charge, proclaiming himself guardian and protector. As the attacks against Ivy increase, Nico battles with the demons from his past, believing the threats against Ivy may be his fault. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ivy and Nico, and the potential fall-out as Nico and Ivy becomes collateral damage in mutual wars.

The world building follows several intersecting paths focusing on the what was; what happened; and what was never meant to be. Nico battles the memories of what was, and Ivy struggles with the demons that refuse to let go.

The relationship between Nico and Ivy is tempestuous at best. The back and forth antagonistic banter is equally charged but in the past Nico has landed a few emotional punches that Ivy can never forget. Time spent together means the heart wants something more. The $ex scenes are provocative and passionate.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting powerful and charismatic characters including the extended De Lucci family including Nico’s sister Bianca, and their brother Matteo (Sera), parents Cesar and Ava (De Lucci’s Obsession), as well as Ivy’s brother Daniel, and their cousin Xander. The requisite evil has many faces. Bianca’s story line is next.

SCORNED LOVE is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The premise is dramatic and intense; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are determined and dynamic.
