Shadowhunters and Downworlders-The Mortal Instruments Reader
From GOODREADS:
Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series, epic urban fantasy set in a richly imagined world of shadowhunters, vampires, werewolves, fairies, and more, has captured the imaginations and loyalty of hundreds of thousands of YA readers. Originally a trilogy (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass), the series has extended to six titles, plus a prequel trilogy, the Infernal Devices, and a planned sequel series, the Dark Artifices. A feature film is planned for 2013.
Shadowhunters and Downworlders, edited by Clare (who provides an introduction to the book and to each piece), is a collection of YA authors writing about the series and its world.

Sounds like a good read. How cool that it is book turning into a movie. Tee hee hee and a book with fairies. : )
The fairies in this storyline are NASTY!!!
I have read this entire series, but I don’t know if this particular book is necessary. It sounds like fellow authors are giving their impressions about the series etc.
I agree Alicia. This is a book where other authors give their opinions about the series….not sure if it is really necessary to any plot or even to the series. And as for Cassandra’s involvement in the book….she was the editor not the author.
This is a great series, but this seems to be “milking it” for all it’s worth. If the publisher wants to keep the readers happy, I suggest they don’t make us wait for more than a year for each release.
I agree Jules. This series has a prequel series available and now a spin off in the making (Dark Artifices) for 2014 (I think). They are milking this one too hard and pretty soon the cow will dry up.The Mortal Instruments series has already passed its’ original 3 book intent and is now entering book 6. I wonder how many of the characters from TMI will be included in the Dark Artifices?
The fact that this particular book has NOTHING to do with the actual storyline and is a series of reflections by other authors, tells me they are worried about keeping the interest up, especially in light of the movie release in August 2013 or it is just another way to bring in the $$. I am not sure about the details behind this particular book, but it must have been a bit of pr on the part of the publisher and then Cassandra’s comments and name was added to the front to add some authenticity.
