Ghost Talker by Robin D. Owens – a Review
Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Kobo / BAM
Description:
An angry poltergeist is stirring up trouble at Buffalo Bill’s grave, and Clare and Zach have been hired to investigate. Assisting them on the case as usual is their ghost dog Enzo, but they’re also aided by the restless ghost of Bill’s friend, Texas Jack. Meanwhile, the most well-known psychic in Denver is angered by Clare’s involvement in the case and will do whatever it takes to stop her.
Of course, facing threats both living and undead are nothing new for Clare and Zach. Their relationship has weathered many storms. But there is a growing danger inside of Clare that could tear them both apart…
Review:
Ghost Talker by Robin D. Owens is the 4th book in her Ghost Seer series. I enjoy this series, as it is a different type of read for me, with ghosts as the main theme. Robin D. Owens is a wonderful writer and I love two of her other series. She can take any theme, usually different and paranormal or fantasy and make it fun and believable; she also has a way of creating great characters.
In Ghost Talker, we meet up again with Clare, Zach and Enzo as Clare is involved once again to help a ghost move on. But first there usually is a mystery or something to prolong it. I loved Ghost Talker and I thought this was the best one yet. Clare becomes more confident, and her relationship with Zach grows into love for both of them. Together, with Enzo, our loveable ghost dog, they all three make a great team.
This new case for Clare had a nice calmer ghost, not some evil spirits from previous stories. There was a villain, who pretended to talk to the dead, taking people’s money and being the fraud he was. He was determined to bring Clare down. Actually the story revolved around two ghosts, Texas Jack and a poltergeist, who is a recent ghost who is confused and wild. Before Clare and team can help Jack move on, he had to help them solve the issue of the new ghost and help him move on.
This was a fun story, with a lot of attention paid to Clare and Zach’s hot romance, and the coming to terms with their calling and accepting it. Though Clare is the Ghost Seer; Zach does have some psychic ability of his own, which is more of a warning system with crows. There was excitement and danger, especially when the fraudulent medium sees his ruse being revealed and goes after Clare. To tell too much more would be spoilers.
I really enjoyed this story, and am very happy that Clare has finally fully accepted her calling. Again, Enzo makes this a fun journey with his antics and helping both Clare and Zach. Robin D. Owens does a wonderful job of continuing the adventures of Clare, Zach and Enzo with an exciting, at times tense, historical tale of the old west, though in modern times, and the great romance between Clare and Zach. If you enjoy mysteries, adventure, excitement, fun, ghost element and a sexy couple, you should be reading this series. I suggest you start with the first book, since you need to see the growth of Clare, Zach and Enzo. You can never go wrong with anything written by Robin Owens.

Sounds like a fun read I like books like this great review
Very nice review, Barb. Since I have read all the books in this series, and you say its the best one yet, I can’t wait too read it.
Very nice review Barb. I haven’t read this series but it does sound interesting.
Thanks for the review Barb. Um, looks like the cover model has a 5-o’clock shadow !
OMG, she so does !
Yep !! And there is something ‘off’ with the cover image.
She definitely looks like she has a beard. Even if it is a shadow, it has been photoshopped onto her fair…doesn’t make sense.
**sigh** I will continue not to . . . tell stories about the cover…
Another nice review Barb. Thanks. Congrats to Robin on the new release.
Whew, my first review! I really liked Texas Jack, and this books contains one of my favorite scenes I’ve written.
I will not comment on the cover…I will not tell stories about the cover…I will keep my mouth shut about the cover…
Anyway, THANKS FOR THE LOVELY REVIEW, BARB!
😉
LOL Robin. Always a pleasure reading your books. I can always count on a good story, and great characters. I won’t look at the cover. 🙂 Actually I just did, perhaps she has a sun tan and the hat stops it from reaching her upper face. lol
Ah, well, the hat was an afterthought. They originally (apparently) lost all the notes about what I wanted on the cover and she had a gypsy scarf (because she is of that cultural background). After . . . discussion I got a hat.
Wonderful review, Barb. This is a fun series.
Thanks for lketting me know this one is out . I will be picking it up. Great review.
Wonderful review Barb, thanks.
