ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 27, 2018
Gwennore has a talent. An Elf able to track down the cause of an illness and heal it, she’s a valuable asset to her people. When the kidnapping of a young girl thrusts Gwennore into the very heart of the realm of the dragons, she discovers not only a place of power and magic, but also a haunted land, plagued by an ancient curse that all but ensures extinction to the royal family. But when she meets the smoldering General Silas Dravenko, they strike a bargain—save the country from its cursed illness, and he will return the kidnapped girl. She’s been raised never to trust a dragon, but never did making a deal with the devil feel so good…
Silas has no way of curing the family he’s loyally served for years. But when a beautiful elf, long considered the enemy of the dragons, comes bursting into his world, Silas is awakened to passion and desire in a way he’s never felt before. But can he trust a sworn enemy to save the very existence he holds dear? And can their love survive those that threaten to tear them apart?

REVIEW: Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon begins with Gwennore looking after Eviana as others were setting up for the celebrating of the Spring Embrace and Eviana’s (along with her twin, Eric) birthdays. Gwennore has had an unsettled feeling for some time now, but has no idea how much her life is about to change. Suddenly, dragons appear above them and one swoops in and takes Eviana, who just happens to be the daughter of the King and Queen of Eberon. As Gwennore grabs hold of the dragon, trying in vain to free Eviana, she finds herself falling, only to be caught, and saved, by another dragon.
Gwen ultimately finds herself and Eviana in a foreign kingdom where people are dying and the reigning queen is mad….as in nuts. That’s not hard to figure out when the mad queen claims Eviana is her child. Enter, Silas, who is the general of the armies for the kingdom. He knows that kidnapping the Princess of Eberon will bring another war, as they are already fighting with the elves. He assures Gwen that he will see that the princess is safely returned, but she has to come back with him and stay thirty days in order to try and help the people of his kingdom. Gwen surprises herself when she agrees. There is something about Silas that not only stirs her interest, but seems familiar……
What follows is one surprise after another.
Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon is a wonderfully written addition to the Embraced series. Gwennore is loyal, smart and compassionate. Silas is as well. But, it’s the two of them together that will endear them to the reader. I love the premise of this series and have loved the previous books, but this one was a step above, in my humble opinion. The secondary characters, as in every Sparks book, are well written and leave you wanting more. Sparks is in a very elite league with her style of writing. Very few authors can pull off a story that builds slowly, yet keeps you turning the pages. There is humor, intrigue and a smoldering romance. I cannot wait for the next installment. Well done, Kerrelyn Sparks!! Very, very well done!
