ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 15, 2019
When ER nurse Nora Sellers is hurt in a hospital scuffle, firefighter Zach Walker blames himself. Blaming himself is nothing new. He’s been blaming himself for years for the trauma his baby sister endured as a teenager. Though with his happy–go–lucky attitude no one would know it. He’s good at his job, he’s a good brother, and a good friend, but Zach decided long ago he wasn’t husband and father material.
Even so, when Zach learns Nora is a single mother with a house that needs his help, he can’t walk away. After a few days with Nora and her ten month old son, he knows he doesn’t want to.
But Nora’s wary. She learned at a young age that the only person she can count on is herself. Now with a baby, a job, and a fixer–upper house, the last thing Nora wants is a sexy firefighter, making her heart flutter. But Zach is more than what he seems, and the more she gets to know him the harder he is to resist.
She’s been brave all her life. Can she be brave one more time and take a chance of a lifetime with her heart?

REVIEW: WAITING FOR YOU is the fifth instalment in Claudia Connor’s contemporary, adult THE MCKINNEY BROTHERS (McKinney/Walker crossover) romance series. This is firefighter Zach Walker, and single mother/ER nurse Nora Sellers’ storyline. WAITING FOR YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion. Zach is Nick’s brother (Worth the Wait #4), and Hannah Walker (Worth the Risk #2).
Told from dual third person perspectives (Zach and Nora) WAITING FOR YOU follows the building relationship between firefighter Zach Walker, and single mother/ER nurse Nora Sellers. A freak accident in the ER found Nora Sellers struggling to look after her son, and the repairs at her new ‘fixer-upper’. Feeling guilty for the injuries incurred by our story line heroine, firefighter Zach Walker offered his services to help Nora with the big and little jobs around the house including help with her ten month old son Will. What ensues is the building relationship between Zach and Nora, and the potential fall-out as Nora’s past resurfaces bringing issues of trust back to the present.
Zach Walker doesn’t do relationships, and struggles with the what-ifs and whys. Meeting Nora Sellers gives Zach a hope for the future, a hope that will be dashed by Nora’s inability to let go of the past. Nora Sellers battles between head and heart as it pertains to letting Zach Walker into their lives. A single mother with no family of which to speak, meeting Zach and his extended McKinney/Walker family is more than Nora is able to handle.
The relationship between Zach and Nora is one of immediate attraction but Nora’s only concern is her ten month old son, a child whose only support system is our story line heroine. With only a week on the job, Nora will come face to face with her future, and the man who would steal her heart. Zach Walker knows he wants Nora Sellers but convincing Nora he is no longer the player she believes him to be, is a lot harder than expected. The $ex scenes are passionate but mostly implied, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Abby and Matt (Worth the Fall #1), Hannah and Stephen (Worth the Risk #2), Nick and Mia (Worth the Wait #4); several co-workers from the hospital ER, and Zach’s fellow firefighters, as well as in the introduction of Zach’s brother Luke.
WAITING FOR YOU focuses on family, friendship, brotherhood and love. The premise is entertaining, engaging and captivating; the characters are charismatic and spirited; the romance is seductive and flirtatious. WAITING FOR YOU is a wonderful and inviting story of romance and love.
