REVIEW: SILVER SPOON is the first instalment in Lyz Kelley’s contemporary, adult SILVER FOX RESORT over 40, romance series focusing on the Foster siblings. This is resort manager Zoey Foster, and award winning chef Nate Keller’s storyline.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Zoey and Nate) SILVER SPOON follows the rebuilding friendship and romance between forty-somethings resort manager Zoey Foster, and award winning chef Nate Keller. Zoey Foster has one goal-to reopen her late father’s Silver Fox Resort, and in doing so reuniting her siblings but Zoey never expected to come face to face with her teenage crush, the man who broke her heart, and ripped it in two. As a teen, Nate Keller worked the Silver Fox Resort but falling in love with Zoey Foster was out of his control. Years later life, love, loss and professional success would bring Nate Keller full circle and back to the resort he worked as a boy. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Nate and Zoey, and the potential fall-out as Nate’s time at Silver Fox Resort comes to an end.

Nate Keller is only in town for a few weeks but he never expected to be working at Silver Fox Resort when the chef they hired refused to work with the local cuisine. Rekindling his friendship with Zoey Foster meant dredging up the past, a past Zoey knew nothing about. Zoey Foster struggled in the aftermath of her father’s death but battle between head and heart as it pertained to the mother that she accused of abandoning her years before. As Zoey’s relationship with Nate comes with an expiry date, too many heart breaking memories of loss threaten Zoey’s well-contained order and control.

The relationship between Zoey and Nate is a rekindling friendship; a second chance romance that never came to fruition years before. Zoey and Nate have never forgotten about the summers spend together but our heroine never understood why Nate kept his distance and refused to take the next steps into something more.

We are introduced to Zoey’s siblings: Sam (Samantha), Cade, Steel and their mother Victoria, as well as Nate’s father Doug Keller, and Nate’s son Connor.
